life had always been controlled for eddie kaspbrak, so restrained by his mother's grasp he never got to experience much for himself. he spent most of his childhood either with his obese mother with nothing else good to do other than to watch the television or in utter isolation. however, his childhood wasn't unbearable, he just didn't get the childhood he had hoped for.
technically he had met richie in grade three, but in his mind, he had known him since forever. the first glance was out his window, watching the six-year ride on his bike without training wheels, and he was completely frightened for him. especially since the next time eddie saw richie pass through his window, richie looked up and saw him, before crashing his bike into a tree. eddie felt an extensive amount of guilt, but he didn't have enough courage to help him up or to ask him if he was okay. he had always relied on his mother to do the talking, to protect him, but he finally understands by grade six this was not the case.
he never put labels on people as his mother did. fat, skinny, gay, straight, short, tall; it didn't matter to him. every person was unique, and no matter what they looked like or how they acted eddie was about to forgive them because he knew he would always want to be forgiven in return.
so for eddie, forgiving myra wasn't too hard.
richie was furious, he knew, along with most of his other friends. mike didn't care much since he had nothing against her. but eddie couldn't help himself. myra had found him digging in his locker for his chemistry binder and tapped his shoulder.
"hey, eds," myra said sweetly, holding his books close to her chest in a way to make her look innocent, the same way she wore a traditional schoolgirl look. eddie rolled his eyes and closed his locker to turn towards his, giving her his full attention, although at the same time he wanted to bolt. maybe it was her bubble gum messing with her speech a bit, but eddie didn't know her call him, eds, like richie, often did.

"hi myra, what'd you want?" eddie replied, looked at her straight in the eyes. one good thing about her is that she isn't taller than he is. but eddie wasn't giving in to her "all schoolgirl innocent" yet. she popped her bubble gum and put a hand through her hair before speaking.
"i'm sorry. really, and the only reason i ever hurt you like that is because i was drunk. it was really dumb. you don't have to forgive me or ever talk to me again, but i just wanted to let you know." she started off towards the stairs, but i couldn't just let her go, that would hurt her.
"hey, myra, wait!" he called down the hall and she stopped in her place, as if she was expected exactly this, and turned around, smiling at the boy fiddling with his phone behind his back. she smiled a nice smile, one that she should use more, and headed towards eddie.
hours later, richie tozier leaned against a pole near the entrance of the high school, bill and stan both running up the stairs out of breath. "richie, what happened?" stanley asked in concern, putting his hand on richie's shoulder.
"eddie forgave myra. they're talking again. i've never wanted to kill eddie more in my life!" richie grunted, crossing his arms and shrugging stan's hand off his shoulder to emphasize his frustration. stan rolled his eyes angrily and bill even looked a bit annoyed as well, putting his hands on his hips.
"i thought eddie was dead, you seriously need to be reminded what "sos" stands for," stan scoffed, but richie didn't move a muscle.
"you need to fix eddie. he doesn't understand what he's getting himself into." richie shook his head lightly, flapping around his untamed, curly hair.

"where is he anyway?"
"in class, duh," richie replied.
"so why aren't you in class?" even though they all knew the answer, seeing as that richie skipped his classes regularly.
"i could ask you the same thing..." richie replied, looking them both up and down, and stan chuckled. "but anyway, you cannot let eddie forgive her. she's the devil." richie snickered.
"oh, she's so much worse."
