I flipped over the giant rocky arm that was pummeling towards me, landing on the side of a brick building near me. The monster roared before taking another swing at me.
Leaping off the building I shot a few webs at its head, a few sticking to his eye. Peter swung besides and and went behind the monster trying to web him up.
I grunted when the monster blindly swung his arms around due to me cutting off his sight. His boulder of an arm slammed violently into my body as I felt myself soar backwards into the window of an office building. I rolled a few times before my back hit the corner of one of the wooden desks with a thud.
"Y/n! I need a little help!" Peter yelled through the coms he put in our suits. As if it was straight out of a movie, I saw my little brother encompassed in the monsters large hand, being thrown around like a rag doll. Leaping to my feet I ran before jumping out the broken window and on top of the monster.
I punched the monster in the face, hissing when the rocks sharp edges cut through the material of my suit as blood started seeping out.
"Spider-woman!" A female voice rang throughout my com as I started webbing the buildings and attaching them to the monster in an attempt to slow him down so he couldn't damage the city even more.
"Agent Hill?" I asked, shooting more webs and trying to get the beast to focus on me so he would let Peter go.
"There's been a power outage at Rikers. I've gotten word that some of the villains have escaped." Agent Hill informed me.
"Look, I'm not in this line of work anymore." I grunted. The monster was webbed up but I knew it wasn't going to hold him very long. I ran down his arm and towards his clenched fist with my unconscious brother in the middle.
Bringing my arms over my head, I slammed them down trying not to think about the searing pain stinging at the ends of my nerves. I did that a few times before the monsters wrist crumbled from his body, rocks falling on to the street below along with my brother. Jumping off his crumbling arm, I swooped Peter up in my arms and began swinging towards a little safer area for him to stay.
"I'm sorry you feel that way, but the city needs you and your brother." Agent Hill replied back in her sassy tone.
"No, what the world needs is the Avengers. Peter still in school and needs to focus on that." I told her firmly as I set my brother down behind a empty dumpster.
"God you sound like Tony." Maria chuckled, "One last mission and then, if you want, you can retire...even though you're only twenty."

"Fine." I gave in reluctantly as I swung back towards the monster terrorizing the city.
"The Avengers are setting the quinjet down as we speak. You'll have back up soon." Agent Hill told me just as a flying guy shooting green beams out of his hands flew over head of me.
"Maria, did Doctor Strange get a new suit?" I landed on a billboard with Jameson's face on it as I watch the new guy fight the rock monster.
"No. I don't know who that guy is but I don't think you should be passing up the help right now." Then the call ended with a click.
I sighed, "So much for giving up the super hero life."
"Hey kid, on your six. Who's the new guy?" Tony spoke into the com this time before flying past me and shooting a few blasts at the stomach.
"I don't know, seems sorta cocky if you ask me." I dropped down from the building and onto his other rocky arm.
"By the way, sorry but we had to bring your ex girlfriend."
"W-What?" My movements faltered for a split second before I just missed another rock punch to the face.
"Yeah, she jumped at the opportunity to come because it's not like she's on the team or anything." Tony smacked his lips.
"Spider-woman I need you to try and stabilize some of these buildings before they fall." Cap cut into the conversation.
I didn't reply back to the Captain, swinging down onto the side of a small apartment building and using my webs to wrap the middle of it in the sticky webs. It wasn't a permanent fix but it would hopefully do the job.
"Peter is in one of the alley ways on sixth, he's unconscious and needs to be evacuated." I swung onto the next building, scooping up civilians that were in the way of some falling rocks.
Clint replied and said he was heading that way now. Once all the buildings, the ones I could see anyway, were all webbed up, I went back to aid in the on going fight with this villain.
My eyes scanned the area below me as I swung through the air, landing on Natasha who was helping get civilians to safety with the help of Cap and Wanda. Tony and the new guy were shooting beams and green magic at the monster, fully dismembering his arm where his wrist and hand were missing from earlier. The rocks began to fall and I know Cap had his shield and Wanda had her magic, but Nat had nothing.
In pure panic and a swirl of emotions, I dove through the air, shooting a string of webs onto the side of a brick building as I reached my arm out and wrapped it around Nats waist, just in time as the falling rocks slammed onto the road. My heart was beating really fast, and with my enhanced senses I could hear hers beating at the same rate.

We landed on a roof away from all the commotion going on. My breathing was coming out in rough pants and I didn't know if that's because I was just fighting an earth monster, or if Nat still managed to take my breath away. I'm going to go with the latter.
"Y/n." Nat said breathlessly and that alone made my knees weak.
I felt uncomfortable in my suit, shifting on the balls of my feet it was then I realized my arm was still around her waist and her warmth was seeping in through the black material. I cleared my throat awkwardly and gently removed my arm and took a step back. The uneasiness was bubbling in my stomach because I knew I put my work first, no matter how much she tried to get me to take a break.
"You're bleeding," Nat grabbed my arms gently and stared worriedly at the amount of blood running down my arms.
I chuckled to try and ease some of the tension, my eyes welling up with tears because I missed this girl so fucking much, "It comes with the job."
I heard a roar in the distance before I pulled my arms away from her soft and gentle hold, "Stay here, you'll be safe."
And with that I jumped off the building, hearing her yell my name as I made my way back to Tony and the new guy.
"You guys make up yet?" Stark asked my.
"No." I dryly replied.
Stark scoffed, shooting more beams at the earth monster, "Just say you're sorry and that she was right. Girls love to be told that. Then buy her a giant stuffed bunny like the one I got Pepper for Christmas."
"Pepper hated the giant stuffed bunny." I landed on the monsters back and used a web to wrap around his neck so that they had a shot at his heart... if he even had one or if that was rock too.
"Okay so get her like a giant stuffed dog or something. Come on kid I can't have all the ideas."
The new guy waved his hands around as he floated right in front of the monster struggling against my webs. To be fair I was struggling to hold him too, feeling my feet slip into the rocks. A bright green magic blast went straight into the monsters just and out his back. With a final roar the monster began crumbling down to pebbles, with me still on top.
"Woah, woah, don't die. Woah!" I kept repeating to myself as I tried to dodge as many rocks as possible.
[...]
"People started calling him Mysterio." Maria told us as we all sat in one of the meeting rooms. Peter was sitting next to me soaking in all the information he missed during battle.
"Maybe we should recruit the guy." Nick Fury said crossing his arms over his chest.
"You said there was a power outage at Rikers and some inmates escaped. Who escaped?" I asked Agent Hill.
"Electro, Kraven the Hunter, Vulture and Sandman. All enemies of yours, y/n." Agent Hill listed off.
"Why does y/n get to have all the fun!?" Rocket whined.
"So no one is going to talk about how it seems sorta fishy how this new guy shows up the same time this rock monster does, and then a bunch of villains escape." Natasha spoke from the other side of the table, her arms were crossed over her chest and she was still in her mission suit. Her shoulder length red hair shining under the fluorescent lights.
"Nat has a point." Rhodey said.
"Fishy or not this guy helped save the city today." Steve said in his deep voice, hands on his belt.
"Yeah, why would he help destroy the monster if he was just another bad guy?" Scott scoffed.
"Unless it was a distraction while the inmates escaped Rikers." Nat fired back.
I didn't say anything during the exchange, feeling my fists clench and the cuts in my hands and arms pulsate in protest. Why couldn't things just go my way for once? I just wanted to get Nat back and not have to worry about fighting off people I put in the prison in the first place.
"Where are they now?" I asked gruffly.
"We don't know. Banner is enhancing the satellites as we speak. We'll let you know when we find them." Fury told me.
I nodded, "When you do, let me know and I'll handle it. I don't want Peter or anyone else near them." I stood up from the leather chair and began walking towards the door.
"I trust you'll be moving back into the compound, then." Fury didn't ask it was a statement. He knew that I was already going to move back in here because he was good like that.
I turned back around to face him, my eyes lingering on Natasha for probably longer than intended. I swallowed the lump in my throat as I tore my gaze off her, "Then I'll be out when this is all over."
Turning on my heel I walked out of the glass board room and planned on heading back to Aunt Mays where all my stuff was. My hand was on the cold elevator button, the metal doors dinging before opening.
"Y/n wait up!"
