Chapter 38

Caine POV

Everyone moved away from us as we begin to circle each other. Claws and fangs were out and ready to spill blood. It wasn't long until shouts and cheers are heard all around us as more people join the party to watch us fight.

Elijah throws the first punch and I dodge it, then he throws a second one and I dodge it, I bring my leg up and kick him straight in the stomach pushing him back. He stumbles but regains his composure quickly. We circle each other again and this time, he throws a kick that almost makes contact with my jaw. Ducking down, I twist my body and swing my legs as hard as I can hitting him on his legs. He falls sideways and lands on the cold ground. I land on my feet and take a few steps back before getting on my boxing form. Arms up and ready.

I waited for him to get up on his feet. If there was one thing that I hated, was fighting someone when they were on the ground.

"Come on!" I growl and he gets up fast.

Elijah was a good two feet bigger than me. The man was all muscle. It was like fighting a bear if there was a way to describe it.

"You are going to pay!" Elijah growled before charging at me.

I moved out the way before Climbing on his back. I wrap my arm around his neck and I pull as hard as I can trying to cut enough oxygen to get him to slow down. Elijah tried to grab me but he was too muscular to read. He began to hit the sides of my ribs and I sucked in a breath before tightening my hold around his neck more.

"Pay for what huh? for killing a threat that was going to hurt my pack?" I grunted.

Elijah grunted back but he couldn't speak since my arm was around his chin and neck. I could see the vein popping out of his forehead and his face was turning redder by the second.

I felt his heartbeat slowing down and that was when I let go of him and quickly get up on my feet. "We saved our packs and our people by killing the enemy, she was the enemy. I was not going to allow anyone to hurt my pack. You guys are all my family, and family protects one another! the moment that she let the enemy into our home, she became the enemy herself." I spoke loud and clear, some people cheered and others nodded their heads in agreement.

Elijah bowed his head in respect but he stood there in silence.

"Now go home," I say calmly and Elijah bowed one more time before walking away from the party and disappearing into the woods.

I walked back to my mate and everyone went back to their chats and whatever they were doing before their fights broke out. This type of thing was normal in our packs. Every once in a while we would get challenged into a fight and we had to show the challenger why we are Alphas.

The next day after the party, I sent out two men to bring Elijah into my office. Only to have them come back without Elijah but with a letter. I open the letter and read it, before tossing it on my desk.

It was a goodbye letter from Elijah. He said his goodbyes and wrote about him and Ally being mates but Ally had rejected him. I felt heartbroken by the news. I couldn't imagine what he had gone through, or how he even put on a strong face after being rejected. Because not once did I see him sad. He held on a strong face, no one could have imagined.

Elijah leaving the pack would make him a rogue, but I trusted that him doing this was going to help him. I am sure he didn't want to stay in the place that reminded him of Ally. I would do the same if I was ever in his position.

A few days pass and we get answers from Mark and Ramon. Everything with the territory papers was taken care of and the lands now belonged to Aurora. Mark showed us a map so that we could have an idea of how much land it was and what was in the lands. Auroras lands were touching with mines and I suggested us putting a post there as well as make roads for anyone that wanted to travel between packs. Since we were both Alphas that were mated to one another this decision was easier to make.

Aurora agreed and so did her people. They loved the idea of being able to travel to other packs to work and trade in their skills instead of being subjected to one place. Aurora got rid of a lot of 'stupid' rules that were put in place by Victor and replaced them with rules and laws that made sense and would be more helpful for her pack.

Her mother, Beatriz decided to move back into Auroras lands. We build a small cottage home for her by the lake. Her favorite place to be. Aurora hired a therapist for her mother that comes to visit once every week for their sessions. I had driven Aurora to a few of the sessions where the therapist wanted to talk to both of them.

Little by little good changes started to take place in our lives. Thaddeus bought land next to ours, and he saved the land from big corporations that wanted to destroy it to build a luxury result in the woods. He saved thousands of acres and three waterfalls and a whole ecosystem. He did build a small estate where he allowed his pack members to travel and live if they wanted to leave the UK territory to come to live in the states.

Our lives were busy. Thaddeus would travel back and forth between packs and Aurora would spend time helping rebuilt homes and schools for the people in her pack. It was hard at times since we went days without seeing one another, but it was harder on Aurora when Thaddeus would leave to go back to the UK.

"Are you leaving again?" I asked Thaddeus as we both enjoy a beer by the upper balcony as we both watch Aurora swim in the pool.

"No, she is due in a few days and I don't want to leave her side. That would be shitty of me and don't want to miss my pup being born. And I want to be there for her."

I was happy to hear that, I knew that he wasn't going to leave her side especially now. Aurora looks up at us and she smiles at us as she throws herself back into the pool. The pool was where she spent the most time, she said that being in there help her with her back because the water helped to not feel much of the pup's weight.

Her belly was very big as she was carrying two pups in there, and she was tiny so her belly would stick out even more.

"I talked to Ben and I am going to let him take over the pack in England. I think that is the best thing to do."

"What did he say? did he agree to it?"

Thaddeus nodded. "Yes, he did. I will move into the estate here and build a second pack of mines here. Maybe I will join them with Aurora's but I don't want to talk about it now. You ready to lose sleep forever?" Thaddeus asked jokingly and I laughed as I took a drink of my beer.

"I can't wait to meet them. I get the feeling they are going to be boys" I share with him and Thaddeus gives me a look. "What is it?" I ask him

"Those are girls in there. Have you not felt how hard they kick when we don't get her mother what she craves?'

I laughed at the memory of the night that Aurora wanted chocolate lava cake and we didn't have anything to make it with, and there was a huge storm over us that caused a landslide on the road covering the exit to the city. Aurora ate something else but the pups were upset whenever Thaddeus and I would place our hands on her belly.

"So you are leaving the UK and moving here, you leaving all your businesses too?" I asked going back to the previous conversation and Thaddeus nodded.

He takes a sip as he watches Aurora swim back and forth. "No, I am going to open up a few offices here and just branch out. I got the connections, and there is a green deal on the table that will help make the world better. I'm excited more than anything, but how about you, I know that you have been spending a lot of time on your lab, what have you been up to?' Thaddeus asks.

I take a deep breath. "Nothing, I've just been looking over the virus trying to figure out what they added to it."

"I thought you were going to leave it alone?" he asks curiously.

"I wanted to but, I have to know just in case someone comes out with the same virus. If I can make a stronger Lycan I will."

'Caine...you can't be serious right? A stronger Lycan? I mean, have you seen yourself out there? You mean to tell me that you want to create something way stronger than you?"

I shush him because I didn't want Aurora to hear us. I know that she would not agree and she would not be happy to know that I was messing around with the virus.

"I am doing it on myself" I share my secret with him and Thaddeus looks like he could kill me right now.

"You what?!"

I shush him again. "I am fine, I am used to this, the only difference now is that this is of my own free will and I am not being forced to do it as my father would do. I am not going to try it on anyone from my pack or an enemy. I can't have an enemy running around stronger than me.

Thaddeus lets out a sigh and I slump back on the chair as well both stay quiet and watch Aurora come out of the pool. She was naked and we didn't mind. Laurel was out in town on a date with m uncle Roger and I had sent the house workers home.

She looks up at us with a mischievous look on her father and we know exactly what that means.

This pregnancy had her craving sex every five hours and we were happy to help her with any desire that she wanted. I was more than happy to make her feel good and so was Thaddeus.

"I will wait for you two in the room, and I don't want you to be gentle this time." Aurora's mind links us and I felt a chill run down my spine. All kinds of images ran through my mind, of Aurora naked in our bed pleasing herself and waiting for us to please her and make love to her.

We both finish our beer fast and we run to our room as we wait for her so that we can give her all the love that she wants.
