Chapter 36

Aurora's POV

The doctor's words ring through my mind and I had to remind myself to breathe. Did I hear him right? Was this really happening? The nurse came over to my side and held my hand. She asked if I was okay and I nodded without saying a word.

"Are...are you sure Doc?" I managed to ask again.

Doctor Miller laughed. "Yes, am positive. All of the signs are there, I can hear it"

What? what did he mean by that?

"Hear what- what can you hear?" I asked still, trying to process all of this.

"Their heartbeats."

Did he just say 'they'. "Whoa whoa whoa....what do you mean 'their'?" As in, in more than one?"

Doctor Miller nodded enthusiasticly. "There are two in there."

I was in complete shock at this point. Was I ready for this? Were we ready for this?"

Doc orderd one of the nurses to get the boys as he sent one of the nurses home.

"Luna, would you like for me to tell them or do you want me to leave it up to you?'

"I will tell them, I want them to hear it from my mouth."

Doctor bowed down as he grabbed his things. "As you wish Luna. I will wait for them to get here and then I will takke my leave.

The boys came and the doctor left after a few words with them.

"So, What did the doctor wanted to tell us? Caine asked and I am sure that they must have heard my hear beat because they both turned to me nervously. "Is everything okay with you, is it serious?" Caine asks, by the one of his voice I could tell that he was worried.

I reassured them that I was fine and that it was nothing to worry about. Truth be told, I wasn't too sure that I wanted to tell them yet. And to be completly honest, I wasnt sure of what I was supposed to be feeling right now.

Was I ready to be a mother? Growing up I didnt have the best parental figures in my life and I was scared, I was terrified.

"Aurora" Thaddeus voices breaks me out of my mind. "What is going on, are you okay?" his voice was low and cautious as they both sit closer to me. They were so close to me that I could feel their heat, it was comforting and it was making me feel a bit better.

"I am...Ehhh"

Caine and Thaddeus look at one another before looking at me.

"Well..the thing is that..he said I should be good to go by tomorrow!" I lied and I wasnt sure if they believed me. I had to make sure that I wasnt mindlinking anything to them about it.

They both looked at each other suspisiously.

"Thats goods news then babe. Because we need you to recover fast so that we can, together, you me and Thaddeus, we can help you out with your pack and get things back on track" Caine rants enthusiastyly and I couldnt help but to smile. I for sure needed the rest and enough time to figure out what I wanted to do with the pups news. This wasn't the time for me to tell them. I wasn't ready.

The next few days I spent them in bed. Doctor Miller showed up every few hours to check up on me and I told him to keep the pups news quiet until I spoke with them. Doctor Miller respect my decison and he went on a rant about how HIPPA laws and rules apply to werewolve principles and rights so I knew that my information was safe.

"I do have to advice you, you will begin to show soon, Pups tend to grow a lot faster than human children and your pregancy and you are already a few weeks in, keep that in mind. You want your partners to know so that they can take the precautions to keep you safe. You will be having the pups of two of the strongest Alpha Werewolves in our history, you and the pups can be a target. Please be careful."

I thanked Doctor Miller for his advice and he took his leave.

Tired of being in bed for so long I grab on to my sweater and slip it on, I slip my feet into the new fluffly slippers that Momma Laurel got me and I maky my way into the kitchen. I heard soft voices in the kitchen and I focus on them as I get closer. I turn to find my mom and Laurel deep in a conversation about food. I lean on the door frame and watch as my mother smiled and laughed with Laurel.

She turns and finds me staring at her. "Honey you are up, how are you feeling?" She asks as she walks over to me and gives me a kiss on the forehead.

My mom checked in on me everyday, always bringing in the medications and food for me to eat. She didnt know about my pregnancy but she did mentioned that I was starting to smell funny, I would change the conversation quickly to another topic.

"I am feeling better, still tired"

"Umhum" Laurel hummed a response and I rolled my eyes. Of course, I already know that she knew that I was pregnant. No one had to tell her, I knew that she figured it out on her own.

"Honey you should be laying down, you need to rest as much as you can"

"I know, I just got tired of laying down so much. I am going outside to take some fresh air, you want to come with me? How about you Laurel want to come?"

"No you two go on ahead, I am sure you both have lots to talk about and catch up" Laurel reassured as she gave me a quick kiss on the cheek as she walked out of the kitchen. "I will be cooking some deer meat later, I am sure that your appetite is calling for it." She said with a wink before leaving.

Yup, she definetly knew.

Mom and I walked around the outside of the mansion. It was a sunny say today and the temperatures outside was pleasant. We made some small talk here and there but I avoided some subjects specially anything that had to do with Victor. Mom was doing well and I didnt wanted to trigger her and have her revert back after she has been doing so well.

"Does he treat you well?"

"Who?" I ask as I pick the dead leafs off one of the rose bushes.

"Caine"

"Oh he is great, why do you ask?" I asked as I still picked on the rose bushes. I had to remind one of the garden workers to look into the bushes, the leafs seem to be getting eaten by a small bugs.

Mom stayed quiet for a bit before speaking. "I heard of the things that he done to other packs as he and his father were conquering the lands around their territory and I got concerned."

I turn to her and put my hands on her shoulders. "He is not that person anymore. Most of that stuff was done by his fathers orders. When his father passed, he stopped all of that. He didn't want to conquer anymore or kill."

We stayed silent for a bit, but it wasnt long until the day went from sunny to cloudy and it began to pour down on us. Mom and I ran inside and we were laughing. "Oh I hate the rain" my mom spoke up and I realized something.

That was the first thing that I knew about my mom. "Mom," I say as I held my tears back.

"What is it honey?" She asks as her hands find my face. "Are you hurting? Oh I knew we should have taken you straight to bed, you shouldnt be out here walking around like this, you are still healing-"

"No, its not that. Its just that, you just shared with me something that you hate. I realized that, me and you don't know much about each other because we were never allowed to be like this."

At the moment of realization after hearing my words, the tears began to fall for her and I as we embrace in a tight hug.

"I am so sorry for not being there for you my sweet baby"

"I know mom, its okay" I managed to say in between sobs.

"No, it was not okay. I shouldnt have let him treat you like that. I should have killed him while I had the chance but, everyday i would wake up so tired, depressed, I felt like I was losing my mind and somehow, he had managed to turn everyone of my friends and family against me. I wsa alone, and I wasnt allowed to reach out to no one, unless he was there."

I listend to her talk and vent and I opened up my heart to everything that she was sharing with me.

"He was gas lighting you and manipulating you, he was abusive and he knew what he was doing, He knew that you were a strong woman and that you could have taken him down, so he played mind games with you to keep you down, but in the end, you broke that spell and you came up top and I am so fucking proud of you mom."

We hugged and held on to each other for a while before we heard Laurel call us over to eat dinner. I knew that we still had a lot to work on, but this was the start and I was ready for us to get to know eachother better.

"Oh and Honey,"

"Yes mom?"

"You might want to tell your mates about those two babies in there. Their hearts are beating louder."

I made a face and she lifted a finger to stop me from saying anything. "Mothers know everything, I have been knowing since England." she pulls me into a hug one more time. "Congratulations my love. You are going to be a great mother, I already know."

We go into the dinning room together, Caine and Thaddeus were already at the table talking about pack stuff when we walk in. We take a seat and a few of the helpers bring out the foods, everything looked delicious and I was digging into the food like never before.

The deer meat tasted so good, and I wanted more of it.

"Wow you really like deer meat huh? I will hunt more tomorrow" Caine smiles as he watches me eat. My mouth was too full for me to smile back.

"Honey slow down a bit" My mom jokes as she puts a large piece of meat on my plate.

I was so into the food that I didn't notice everyone looking at me eat.

"Have you ever seen her eat like this before?" Thaddeus leans into Caine and Caine shakes his head.

"Its the medicine you guys, now stop the bickering and eat." Momma Laurel urges and I look up at her and smile. I had to thank her later for that.

The food was tasting and smelling so good until my nose picked up a scent that I didn't like and that it was driving me to puke. Then I see it. A pickle.

I scrunch my nose up when I pick it off the plate and it seconds I was gagging and ready to throw up.

Thaddeus looks at me weird as he takes it from me and eats it. "Are you okay? You love pickles, whats wrong with this one?" He asks and I shake my head.

The smell was still on my nose and I had to run to the bathroom so that I didnt throw up on the table.

In seconds, Caine and Thaddeus were right behind me, Caine wash holding my hair back and Thaddeus was rubbig my back softly as I emptied out my stomach of everything that I ate into the toilet.

"Baby, why are you like this all of the sudden?" Caine asks as he hands me a towerl to clean my face.

Thaddeus eyes me before looking at Caine. "It could be the medications, I will grab Doctor Miller-"

"No, stop"

The both stop and look at me with a worried look on their faces. "Aurora, what is it? Tell us" Thaddeus urges and I knew that it was time. There was no need to keep on hiding it.

I grab Thaddeus hand then I grab Caines, I place their hands on my stomach. "Listen". After a few seconds they both lift their heads up and look at me. I watch as a bunch of different emotions show on their faces and I had to giggle.

"There are pups in there?' Thaddeus asks and I nod.

"When did you find out?" Caine asks right after Thaddeus asked his question.

They were both talking over each other asking me things and I was starting to feel another wave of nausea. I lift my hands up and they both stop. I turn around fast enough to have made it into the bowl. After a few minutes of throwing up, I got my composure and Caine picks me up and takes me to our room.

"Aura, why didn't you tell us as soon as you found out?"

I was hoping that they wouldn't ask that but here I was.

"I was scared" I said. "I know that we have a lot going on right now, so I was worried that it wasn't the right time. We have so many enemies, and a million other things going on. I was also scared of the reactions that you guys might have too"

"Baby we I am so happy to know that we are going to be parents, and we will protect you and our pups with all of our might and strenght. So dont be scared, and if you feel scared, you can lean on us" Thaddeus spoke and I could have sworn that my heart was going to explode from the love.

Caine reached over and kissed me on the lips so softly. "You are going to be such an amazing mom, and I am so happy to know that we are going to be a family soon. I love you"

"I love you too" I say to him as he kisses me again and then Thaddeus tilts my head to him so that he can capture my lips with his.

I felt over the moon knowing that we were going to be a family now. I was curious about my pups. Who will they look like? Will they be a boy and a girl, will I have two boys? or two girls? What will we name them? I wanted for them to be born already because I wanted to meet them.

I was ready and excited, and I was happy that I was carring the pups of my mates. They were going to be great dads, I could tell already.
