Chapter 35

Thaddeus POV

If there was a new feeling for anger and rage, I had just discovered it. And I was ready to kill when I felt a sharp pain on my side and I felt like I couldn't breathe. After a few minutes, the pain went away and it was replaced by a sense of relief.

My palms were getting sweaty and I couldn't focus on anything but trying to figure out what I wanted to do first when I saw them. Should I run to her and kiss her and then yell at her, should I punch Caine first.

The anger that I felt was like no other. They got up in the middle of the night while I was sleeping and they left to come back to the states without saying anything. I had every right to be pissed off. My mate left my side without saying goodbye as if I was a nobody. I just couldn't understand why they did that. Why did she leave like that?

What I should have done was stay in my pack, and let her feel whatever kind of way she had to feel, but I couldn't. I had to run back here and make sure that she was okay.

I couldn't explain the fear and rage I felt when my side started to hurt, telling me that she was hurt. My wolf was howling at me but there wasn't much I could have done. We were nowhere near Auroras pack and I had my men retreat back to the UK.

After driving for what it seemed like days, we arrived at Auroras pack. Upon the arrival, we were told that Aurora had burned down her old home and that they were not in the campgrounds. I asked if they had seen Ally and showed the pack members a few pictures of her and they told us that she had been there a few days prior but that they haven't seen her ever since.

"We are waiting for Alpha Aurora to come back" A young girl spoke up and I looked at her. Alpha Aurora? could they have already crowned her Alpha?

I thanked them for their information and we left so that we could check Caines's pack.

As we arrive there, we see them pulling up on the driveway. Caine rushes to the other side of the car and he helps put a very hurt-looking Aurora. There was a lot of blood on her shirt and it was coming down her leg.

"Aurora!" I let my wolf howl for me, making Caine turn around, his eyes were relaxed and he looked unfazed. I guess he knew I was coming. "What the fuck happened?' I asked as I rush inside the house with them. I push open the door and see that there were nurses and the doctor already waiting for them. They start touching her and taking her clothes off and she helps as she takes off her sweater quietly. I knew that she was in pain, but she was doing a hell of a job not showing it. Aurora was quiet this whole time. She didn't even dare to look at me. I wanted to be so mad and angry but I couldn't. Not when she was like this.

Momma Laurel would usually say something but she stood back as well. She eyed Caine and I knew that she too was angry at him.

I rush to her side and my eyes widen when they lift off her shirt, her wound was big and she was losing a lot of blood. "Baby what the fuck happened to you? who the fuck did this?' I growl and everyone takes a step back. I cup her face in my hand and she looks at me. They looked different as if that wasn't her. Was this her Lycan form? I turn to Caine and he looks down.

"Caine-"

"I am fine, I let my Lycan take over and it looks like she is a bit of a masochist."

"Aurora you shouldn't have done that, all of this could be dangerous."

"I had to do what I had to do for my people Thaddeus, sometimes you have to make sacrifices right?."

"I get that Aurora but...who did this to you so that I could kill them myself!?" I couldn't control my anger.

"She is dead. Ally is dead. We followed a clue to get the territory papers and she almost got them, we got into it, she stabs me and I killed her for it. "

Everyone around us sighs in relief. Cheers and whispers of relief could be heard around the room as the news of Ally's death spreads.

Elijah walks up to us, his eyes were down and I could tell that something was off. I got up and turned to him, covering Aurora just in case he wanted to try anything. "Is she really dead?" He asks Aurora. Her eyes soften up and she looks at him before nodding a yes.

"She attacked the lawyer that was hiding the papers for my pack, then she charged at me," Aurora says before she makes a face as the doctor injects her so that he can sew her up.

Elijah looked down again before turning around and leaving the room. Everyone stood quiet as they watched him walk away except for the doctors and nurses and they worked hard to heal Aurora.

"Okay, I want everyone out!" The doctor yells at us and everyone starts to leave except for Caine and myself. "That includes you two," he says as he points his fingers at us.

I wanted to say something but Caine made a nod with his face for me to follow him. I look at Aurora as she had her head back with her eyes open. She wore a small smirk on her face.

One of the nurses shoos us out of the living room, Laurel was the only one that stayed and she gave Caine a side-eye. She must have been really pissed off.

Caine leads the way to the balcony outback. He takes out a joint and lights it up.

"I am sorry that we left like that-"

"You should be"

"We had to do it like that I don't trust anyone and we wanted to be as quiet as possible. But it was worth it because Ally is dead and our packs are safe."

"Caine" I paused as I was trying to find the right words to describe the feeling that I was currently feeling. But I couldn't find anything. "I was angrier that you two couldn't have trusted me enough to tell me. We are supposed to be in this together, this...this" I moved my arms back and forth. "This is not how I want us to be, we shouldn't have to go behind each other's backs like this-"

Caine lets out a sigh as he breaths out the smoke at the same time. Before taking another hit.

"I am sorry brother but this is something that you are going to have to talk to her about. I can't speak for her. I can only speak for myself and know that I am sorry about how things went down. But know that things came out okay and that Ally is dead. Hopefully, her death will bring things back to normal in our packs and we can begin to move forward."

"I feel that the death that you guys gave her was too easy," I said as I run my fingers through my hair.

Caine nods as he finishes his joint before putting it out. "She deserved a lot more pain than what she went through, but we couldn't let the opportunity pass, we had to take it."

"I know Elijah didn't take it too well. We should keep an eye on him."

Caine nods as he takes another hit. "She is going to take her place as Alpha"

"I know," I say as I look at the sky.

"How does that make you feel-"

The door to the balcony opens up and one of the nurses comes out. We both stand up quickly. "Doctor Miller would like to speak to both of you."

"Is she okay?" I ask, the nurse nods with a smile. "She is okay, but hurry, it's important."

We get to the living room as fast as we can, the nurse opens the door for us and leaves alongside the two other nurses that were with the doctor. Now it was just Aurora, the doctor, Caine, and myself in the living room.

Aurora was all cleaned up and she looked in better shape. But this time she held a smile on her face. Doctor Miller gave us a nod before he takes his leave. "I thought you wanted to talk with us?' I question him and he waves a finger at me.

"I thought about it and I think I better leave it up for Aurora, have a good night, and remember to take the medication that I gave you, it will help with the healing."

Doctor Miller leaves and I close the doors behind him. I turn around and Caine was sitting by Aurora's side holding her hand, I walk over and sit on the other side. I took a few deep breaths as I was still angry at her. But her smile was enough to melt that anger away.

Aurora turns to me a bit. "You have every right to be upset at me, I know I shouldn't have left like that but I felt like it had to be done. I was scared that you were going to stop me."

I let out a sigh as I grab her hand in mine and kiss the top of her hand. "Aura, I would put you inside a bubble with forty thousand warriors in order to keep you safe, but I know you are your own woman and I can't get in your way like that. You are my mate but that doesn't mean I own you. If you do decide to become Alpha, then we will figure something out that works for us and our relationship. I love you"

"I love you too" she replies back and I kiss her forehead softly. Caine smiles at us as he squeezes Aurora's thigh.

"So," Caine says as he turns to Aurora now. "What did the doctor wanted to tell us?"
