I kept myself up all night, working on papers and things that had to do with pack members as well as the Welcoming night for Aurora.

It was nothing I couldn't handle, but the thought of her kept on invading my mind. The image of her lips, her hair, her smell. It was all driving me crazy and I wanted more of it. Only a few hours have been a few hours since I last saw her, and I figured that it was best to call it a night and go check in on her. Leaving the office, I headed down to my room to see her before going to sleep.

Opening the door slowly, I made my way to her side and I watched. Her soft breaths made my wolf calm down, and want to be laid up next to her.

It was insane yet amazing how much my wolf and myself would just feel this sense of calm just by having her stand in front of us.

And then it dawned on me. I was Alpha Caine. I was ruthless, and one of the most feared Alphas. And here I was getting soft. I don't know what this feeling was but I couldn't help but surprise myself when I was talking with her earlier.

Over the years, and under my father's special treatment. I grew cold, you can even say I grew evil. But that was how I was able to rule this long. Under firm hand, but still respecting my people.

It wasn't until my father started to see that I was getting out of control and he suggested I find my mate. He said that the pack members where asking for their Luna, but I know he had other intentions.

My father was evil under his smile. So him suggesting that I looked for my mate, made me suspicious. Little did I know that he would die the next day. But still I waited two years before signing up for The Games, and I could come out empty-handed every time, until this year.

Yet, I am still fearful inside. Aurora makes me feel things I have never felt before, and I am here wondering if having her here, this close to me is a smart idea. I fear for her, I'm scared that I'm going to hurt her, make her cry or worst, have her reject me.

Because I hear that Rejection hurts like a bitch and it will make the rejected mate lose his or her mind until they die of heartbreak.

Still, I want to make Aurora happy. I mean, she is my mate for fucks sake. I'm just scared I won't be able to please her and treat her like she deserves because I was raised under a firm hard. No love in my family. I am scared that won't be able to respond to her as she deserves.

I was so lost in my feelings and thoughts that I didn't noticed my beta Ally standing by the door.

Unlike other packs, and other Alphas, I had a female wolf for a beta. It was frown upon and considered "illegal" but I didn't care. I liked breaking the rules.

"She doing okay?" Ally asked through our mind link as she leaned on the door frame with her arms crossed.

"Yea she is" I replied back as I look out the window. It was late at night and it was pitch black outside. Only the snowy top of the mountain could be seen at this time.

"Caine...you should check on Alpha Thaddeus" She informed as she took a few steps inside my room.

I gave her a glare and she walked backwards until she was at the door again.

She knew why.

Our moments were now done and over with. Ally had to respect that. She wasn't welcomed in my room anymore, especially now that I had found my mate.

"Why you say that?" I ask as I cover Aurora with the heavy bed covers, before leaving the room with Ally behind me.

"I over heard a conversation of his, on the phone. I am not sure who he was talking to but...it sounded like he already had a mate, he sounded upset, unsure. Maybe this is your time to get rid of him" Ally spoke through the mind link.

She knew me too well. And maybe this is what I needed to get him out of my life and Auroras but, something wasn't sounding right with me.

I dismissed Ally and I made my way to Alpha Thaddeus. It was already two in the morning and I could smell him tearing up food in my kitchen.

My wolf growled at this. Because I was starving and I hope he didn't touch the deer meat that Frank, my cook, dropped off for me last night because if he touched it, I was going to kill him.

Of course to my luck, he did touch my deer meat.

I get to the kitchen and find him taking his second bite of the deer meat and I jump on him in a flash, my fist connecting to his face.

"You here trying to take my Luna, and now you are eating my damn deer meat!?" I let out a loud growl and Alpha Thaddeus laughs as he bounced back up and landed a punch on my stomach sending me a few feet away from him.

In seconds we were circling each other, our fangs and our claws out, ready to strike. I started to hear a commotion from some of my pack warriors that would make rounds around my home.

"Alpha Caine!" Ally shouted as she tried to get in between us only to get held back by Elijah, one of my best fighters.

"Let them deal with this Beta Ally, you will get shredded into pieces if you get in their way, you know how we get when someone touches our meat!!" He yelled over all the commotion as he pulled Ally back.

"You care to tell me what you are hiding?" I asked and Thaddeus stopped. I watch as his shoulders dip down and he lowers his head before looking away.

"Okay show is over! Back to your posts you sons of bitches, the fight for the meat is over!" Elijah yells and the warriors rush away and back to their posts, some sounded excited and some sounded disappointed as they wanted to see two Alphas fight.

Elijah and Ally leave as well, leaving me and Alpha Thaddeus alone in the kitchen with deer meat all over the floor.

Alpha Thaddeus looked like he hasn't gotten much sleep. I could sense that he was beyond tired, I mean, it was hard to not noticed by the dark circles under his eyes.

"What are you, hiding?" I asked him again as I got closer to his face.

"If you don't take a step-"

"Is this something that is going to break Aurora's heart?" I asked and he froze. He dropped his head again and I already knew what was going on. "You are already mated to someone aren't you?" I asked and he finally looked up at me. I knew this because I could tell that he was suppressing his scent.

"I have never regretted something as bad as I do right now". He confessed to me. He looked defeated and sick.

Alpha Thaddeus leans back on the counter and I cross my arms as I wait for him to tell me what he needs to tell me.

"Who is she?" I asked bluntly. I needed to know because I wanted to be prepared for this. This was something that was going to break Auroras heart, meaning that both him and I were going to feel it too.

"She is the daughter of a political Alpha. Her name is Lena Rostov, and her pack is from Russia. Our parents mated us, two years ago, strictly for business. My father wanted for our families to join together and form one of the biggest packs in Europe."

"Reject her" I suggest firmly.

"If it was that easy. If I reject her it could mean business going down, contracts being broken and could possibly mean war"

"It's that bad huh? You still have to tell her, and Aurora"

"What makes you think Aurora won't end up rejecting me?" Alpha Thaddeus asked as he takes a sip from his beer.

"I don't think she would do that."

"You sound sure," he said rolling his eyes.

"Because Aurora doesn't seem to be that type of person. Anyways, you already took a bite out of the fucking meat, you might as well finish it. Also, We need to figure out what has happened here with our bond, I can call one of the witches that work for my pack, maybe they can get in touch with the Moon Goddess and we can get answers".

"Because Witches will be able to tell you something" Thaddeus jokes. I guess he didn't know about how powerful witches were.

"You know they are powerful humans right? We need to know what is happening. The situation that we are in is unheard of. And I don't want Aurora to end up hurt"

"So the answers we seek are in the hands of witches?" Alpha Thaddeus said as he cracked a smile. "Does Aurora know of this? What if she doesn't want to deal with a witch? I'm sure they will want something in return Alpha Caine-"

It was then when her scent caught my attention as well as Thaddeus because he stood up straight quickly. We both look towards the kitchen door and watch as Aurora comes in.

She looked cute with her messy hair and her swollen lips.

"Hey, guys...uhhh what's going on?" Aurora asked confused as she stood there looking back and forth between Alpha Thaddeus and the mess in the kitchen.

Alpha Thaddeus looked away and I felt like my hands where tied. Should I tell her the truth or let Alpha Thaddeus deal with this as he digs his own grave.

I chose the second one.

"You need anything Princess?" I asked Aurora who nodded.

"I just want some water please" she said as she started to pick up the trays of covered meat that was on the floor and on the counter.

"You don't have to do that" Alpha Thaddeus spoke up as he grabs the trays away from her. "This was my mess, let me clean it up, love" he said with a smile and I rolled my eyes.

I hand Aurora a glass of cold water and she takes it. We watch as she gulps it all down and puts the glass down on the table.

"Okay so, now do you guys care to tell me why you were fighting about?" Her question caught us off guard and both Alpha Thaddeus and I look at each other and then back at her, we watch as her eyes turn bright yellow. A sign that she was angry and probably feed up.

Yup. Our mate got right down to business and I felt turned on by that. Now, I know Alpha Thaddeus felt the opposite since he was the one hiding everything from her and he will be in deep shit.

She wasted no time and she knew straight from the get that something else was happening.

"Now...one of you better start talking" she threatened and I could have sworn my pants got tighter when she said that. She looked hot when she was angry like this. And I'm glad I got to witness this, because I could have sworn I fell deeper for her now.

My kind of girl. She was going to make a great Luna.
