It was painful to watch Evelyn scream as she pulled relentless at her restraints to get back to Caleb. I wanted to intervene but I knew better. This was all going to plan as upsetting as it was to watch.

Unwilling to get in the van Evelyn dropped to her knee making it as difficult as possible to get her inside. Growing annoyed and impatient I watched infuriated as he swung his gun against the side of her head. She slumped forward in the man's arms that held her.

He picked her up with ease and slide her into the back seat of the van. They peeled off the gravel drive way and onto the dirt road. Plumes of dust and dirty clouded the structure of their vehicles as they sped off.

I turned my face to the unmoving body that laid behind. Floating over to the body I stared at terrified blue eyes. He was scared in his last moments like anyone would and as I bent down to get a better look I didn't mistake the tear trail that had dried up on the side of his face. He was heartbroken for leaving her behind though it was something completely out of his and her control.

"He's over here!" A female voice broke my sorrowful concentration as I dissipated and reappeared on the edge of the forest. I was concealed by leaves and branches as I watched Werewolves and Vampires alike.

"Fuck!" The female vampire cursed picking up the lifeless body. "God dammit! What is it with you men dying over your mates."

I felt the presence behind me before they said anything as I continued to watch. "I didn't cross him over, you know."

I turned to face my mentor as she watched the scene unfold before us. Confused I couldn't help but look over at her. Her duty is to guide spirits to the next world.

"What do you mean? You can't just leave him in purgatory." I exclaimed reading myself to teleport to purgatory and guide him myself. I spirits that lingered to long in purgatory could be doomed to remain their forever.

She grabbed my wrist halting my teleportation.

"You can't just leave him there!" I yelled frantic to fix this mess.

"I didn't say I was."

I stopped pulling against her and I stared at her wide-eyed in astonishment.

"You didn't..."

"Oh, but I did." She replied as a gasp was heard amongst the growing crowd.

"What the fuck! He should be dead."
