Time seemed to stop as Roy pulled the trigger. Caleb stood tall and ready looking at me with love and admiration. His lips formed those three simple words that held so much emotion.

I love you.

I waited for Caleb to cry out or fall to the floor, but neither occurred as blurred black figure seemed to teleport in front of Caleb. They has skillfully grabbed the bullet mid air.

Stunned I looked closer trying to make out who it was when my breath hitched in my throat. It was Druscilla. I could vividly remember everything about her since the first time I say her.

Her light blonde hair was unmistakable, it was her. Her vivid blue-grey eyes were unforgettable as she turned to face Roy and his men. She briefly dropped her gaze to me offering my a face that was unreadable.

"You don't seem happy to see me, Roy." She beamed flicking the bullet at his feet.

Over my shoulder I could tell that Roy had looked down at it as he poked at the silver bullet with the toe of his shoe. He chuckled dryly as he looked back up at Druscilla.

"Werewolves and Vampires working together, I thought I'd never see the day. You guys avoid each other like the plague, and now you all are working together? For what? For her?" His hand encircled my throat causing me to gasp for air. Caleb took a quick step further trying to close the distance but he didn't get far before the cold metal of his handgun was pressed to my temple. "I wouldn't come any closer."

"What do you want Roy?" Caleb asked, there was rage in his voice but there was still a sliver of unease. Unease that was caused by Roy unhinged personality and the gun point directly at my head.

"I want you two to finish what you've started." He smirked as Nora and Caleb looked at one another.

He wanted them to fight? From the looks of it they already had. There were deep claw marks on Caleb's cheek that were slowly closing up. Nora was holding the side of her stomach as if the wind had been knocked out of her. They did fight. My jaw clenched with conviction.

"Finish what you started or I blow her brains out!" He threatened pressing the cold metal harder against my head. My winced at the pressure it put on the single spot.

"You aren't going to kill her, Roy. I know you want her, that's why you branded her," Nora taunted stepping past Caleb, unlike him she didn't care if Roy was going to hold his word and kill me. She had nothing to lose by approaching him, the fact made me swallow my nerves. "Don't fuck this up for me Roy, we can still both get what-"

Nora was cut short as a shot rang out and hit just an inch from her foot.

"I said finish what you started, or the next shot will be right between your eyes." He demanded.

Nora glared at him gulping down her pride as the realization that her plan had completely fallen apart dawned on her. Not wanting to press Roy any further she rose her hand to her mouth and whistled. Every Were in the vicinity shifted, there teeth out, the lips curled and their ears pressed snug to their skull. Nora shifted as she turned snarling at Caleb and Druscilla just a couple feet away.

Even though Roy went back on his word she could at least try and fulfill her goal.

Druscilla rolled her eyes unamused at the vicious werewolf before her. She didn't seem fazed by the fact that they were drastically out numbered.

"Sometimes I wonder how you all didn't kill yourselves off as a species." Taunted by her words every wolf snapped into action.

They rushed towards Druscilla in a speed that was hard to track with my eyes. Everything seemed like a blur as figures collided with one another. There was one wolf that I ideally watched as the chaos unfolded.

The blonde fur was like a beacon to my eyes but I almost didn't want to watch as more than five wolves pounced on him. He was like a menace though as he tore into multiple wolves. There were at least four on the floor unmoved.

Battered and beaten Caleb squared up to Nora who had howled pulling back her crew from attacking him.

There were more gashes than I wanted to count now all over his body. Still, he growled fearlessly as Nora jumped towards him. Her mouth full of teeth came straight for his head.

I pulled vigorously at the hold that Roy had on me but he only seemed to remember that he had even held me.

He grabbed my face squishing it and forcing me to look. "Watch Eve, watch your pathetic mate die over your helpless self."

Nora bit into the side of Caleb's face and I watched as he whined in pain from the bite. Nora thrashed her head from side to side locking her jaw as he tried to pull away and break free from his hold.

I grabbed Roy's wrist in a poor attempt to break free. The movement only made him dig his fingers into my jaw tighter.

"Uh-uh-uh my Eve. Watch as he losses his life because helps you need a savior at every fucking corner. Poor little Eve can't defend herself, can't protect herself. This Eve is all your fault remember this." He taunted in my ear.

His satisfying demeanor was short lived however when more human-like figures broke out of the forest and began throwing the Weres that were cut off guard as they had been watching Nora and Caleb.

"Get the girl!" Druscilla ordered as two of the figures stopped moving. They had purple eyes just like Druscilla and I gulped realizing that they were Vampires.

Roy cursed under his breath as he yanked me to my feet by my arm and forced me to run with him towards the cabin. There were vans parked outside I finally noticed that had to belong to his and his men.

"Shot them! Shot them all!" Roy shouted as his men stopped to shot the vampires that followed us. They shot out an array of black smoke that chocked them as they tried to follow. Tacca, I recalled the black leaves in the necklace Caleb gave me months ago. They had poisoned them.

I pulled against him fighting him the whole way there. If he got me in the van I was a lost cause and Caleb wouldn't be able to find me. I was lucky he found me this time.

Mustering up the courage I dug from the deepest depths of my mind I threw a punch at the side of his head. He shouted out in pain as he released his hold on my arm.

"You fucking bitch!" I heard him yell as I ran past him.

My adrenaline was pumping as my heart hammered against my chest. The only thoughts that were coursing through my mind was get away. I had to get away.

Fueled my racing thoughts my judgement became questionable as I ran toward the cabin. I could lock myself in side. My mind thought though another part of me knew that it would be a poor choice.

Running I heard a scream of pain behind me and the voice shouted familiar as I cautiously looked over my shoulder. Blonde fur had pounced on Roy.

Roy looked up at rage filled eyes. He pointed the gun up at Caleb to which he bit down on his wrist breaking it in one bit. He wasn't done though as he bit into his shoulder making him go completely silent.

The adrenaline in my body still rushed through my veins like the white water rapids of a crazed river. My eyes closed shut as my knee gave in. All the pain, all the exhaustion and all the emotions invaded all my nerves and I collapsed to the ground.

My eyes looked up at the tall canopy of trees. Thoughts of Aurora flooded my mind and I found myself tearing up at the loss. More thoughts and memories trickled in until I was uncontrollably crying to the point that everything became blurry.

As I looked at the blurry tree tops, a person with dark brown hair blocked out the sight. There was an initial soothing of my aches as they touched my skin. Their hands ran up and down my body seemingly to expect every inch for injuries.

"Eve, babe are you hurt? Where are you hurt so I can help you?" The voice was music to my ears and I wiped the tears from my eyes so that I could focus on this person. I craved this person like they were my life line.

Blinking the last tears away I sat up and looked at the person beside me. It was Caleb. I couldn't be completely relieved at seem him as I took in ever tear, bruise, and gash that littered his body.

"O-oh my god Caleb. Y-you're bleeding!" I exclaimed tearing the bottom of my shirt to dab at the various gashes he bled from.

He let out a chuckle at my vain efforts. He really chuckled at this very moment.

"How the hell are you laughing? You look like you went through the battle fields of Normandy and you are just sitting here... laughing?"

Caleb grabbed my wrist stopping my attempt to clean him up.

"Eve, I'm a werewolf. Do you forget that I regenerate quickly?" He reminded me with a soft smile.

I blinked as I looked between the gashes on his chest to his ocean blue eyes. Overwhelmed with seeing I threw my hands around his neck and hugged him tightly. I buried my face in his neck as did he.

"I almost lost you." I sobbed into his shoulder.

"And I almost lost you. We are okay now. You are okay and so am I." He reassured me pulling back to plant a kiss to my lips. It was quick but it meant everything. I felt ever need and want and desperation from that simple act and I greedily indulged in it.

But it was short and brief, not because one of us pulled away, no it was the jolt the struck Caleb's body they sent a shockwave through my own.

I pulled back to look up at Caleb as I watched his face contort into one of pain and shock. He said nothing though as I stared up at him. His blue eyes didn't look so blue anymore though and the feeling of dread washed over me.

"Caleb?" He didn't respond. "Caleb?" I repeated, only this time he keeled forward. I had to twist my body out of the way to catch him and guide his body down carefully.

He looked up at me with fear in his eyes as he reached up to put his hand to my face.

"Caleb! What's wrong?" He didn't say a word. I wasn't sure if he couldn't or was still trying to find the words. I was confused and desperate. "Answer me god dammit!"

"He can't"

My eyes grew wide as I kept my eyes focused on Caleb. He seemed frozen and lifeless on the ground. His wounds had stopped healing altogether.

"You killed him." I whispered. Though I meant to say it as a question I knew it was true. His chest did rise and fall so he wasn't breathing.

There was a hand that was placed on my shoulder. It felt disgusting and vile on my skin. Shooting up to my feet a whirled around with angry tears in my eyes.

"You killed him!" I screamed as I looked at Roy dead in the eyes. I was so blind by my emotional turmoil I failed to see his mean creeping up behind me.

They tied my hands behind my back pushing me toward the vans.

"You killed him, you monster!"

"I told you he'd die over you."
