《Deception (Book #1) ✅》~37: Two Birds One Stone~

I was thrown against a tree my shoulder took most of the force as I hit it and collapsed on the ground in pain. I groaned as I tried to catch my breath. My eyes were closed as I winced trying to roll over on my side to look at who had just thrown me like a rag doll.

When I was finally able to open my eyes I came to see four menacing and bulky men. They all looked as strong and as terrifying at Caleb. When I took in Caleb's appearance I saw his anger in ever feature of his body.

His muscles were tight and flexing, waiting for the right moment to pounce. His eyes were pitch black and his canines were on display as a low and threatening growl came from his chest.

"Hello Caleb," The largest of the guys spoke up. "Long time no see cuz." Caleb stared daggers at the man who called himself his cousin.

He was at least six foot four with rippling thick muscles everywhere on his body. The man was tanned with a sun kiss glow to his complexation. His jet black hair and equally piercing blue eyes as Caleb's. There wasn't a shred of doubt that they were related.

I coughed trying to catch the breath that was knocked out of me which caused everyone's eyes to hone in on my shuddering form. I gulped a lump of anxiety down as I winced to sit up. My back screamed in pain and all I was able to do was roll over on my side and look at them all.

Caleb's cousin approached me roughly balling my hair in his hand and lifting my head up to face him. His eyes changed from black to blue interchangeably and my stomach knotted when I realize he is fighting for control. Control over what, I wasn't exactly sure and I knew for a fact I didn't want to find out.

"So this is the Luna?" He taunts bringing his face closer to my own. I could smell the spicy pine scent on him. Did this man live in the woods or something or was that just body spray. It smelt to authentic to be an artificial fragrance.

"Don't touch her." Caleb growled taking a step closer to me but he was stopped. One of the other six foot plus men shoved him back with a smirk.

His cousin pulled my head back by my hair causing a shrieked from the painful yank. I swear he pulled some strands out with the deathly strained grip he had in my curls.

Caleb's cousin made a tsk sound as he eyed me over from head to toe. My thin shirt now felt transparent under his hungry gaze and I audibly gulped in fear of what his intentions were. I knew that stare. I knew it like the back of my hand. It was the same vicious look that Roy would give me before he was about to use me or do something cruel.

"I have to give it to yea, your mate sure is breathtaking." He taunted lifting his other hand to trail his fingers across my cheek. His touch didn't give me the same warm, electrifying and comforting feeling that Caleb's did. His touch made me feel repulsed and sick to my stomach. It felt wrong.

I tried to wiggle my face from his touch but he only pulled me closer to his face now our noses mere millimeters apart. My breathing was starting to quicken and I was sure I was on the verge of hyperventilating. I closed my eyes desperate to control the escalating pressure in my chest. It was no use I was about to cave in.

"Let her go Flynn." My mates voice was mundane but there was an undeniable threat laced with his words. "We can discuss this like family." Caleb reach out his hand as if trying to convince Flynn to let go. I grimaced when Flynn let go of my hair and rubbed the side of my check with his thumb as if I were a valuable art piece. My lip quivered as I tried not to whimper. I was terrified.

"There's not much to discuss little cuz." He was looking at Caleb when he spoke. Not paying attention to me, Flynn let go of my face and I hastily recovered to my feet trying desperately to put as much space as I could between us. Flynn turned to me and gave me a sinister smirk. "Now where are you going? You can't run from us, human. But I do like a good chase." I gulped.

I looked to Caleb giving him a pleading look to help me. My eyes begged for him to do something. Anything!

"Flynn don't you have rouge she-wolves to impregnate? Why are you chasing after mated females? And mine at that?" Caleb clenched and unclenched his fists at his sides. He was trying to control himself from attacking them. He and I both knew he couldn't take them all. Or could he? Was he waiting for the right opportunity?

"Though your mate is very tempting..."He looked me up and down like I was a full course meal. My clammy palms rubbed against the rough texture of my jeans as I tried to dry them off in case I'd need to fend for myself. What I could possibly do to a full grown male werewolf, I wasn't sure, but I would damn well try. "Unfortunately, I'm only here to take her, not exact revenge on you. Though, I haven't forgotten." His eyes flashed icy blue when he recollected his hatred towards Caleb.

Caleb took a step closer towards me but he didn't get another step in before the other three men step towards him blocking off his advancement towards me.

He looked between them all before speaking up once again. "How'd you get this far in my territory?" He inquisitively questioned Flynn. His eyes narrowed at his cousin when Flynn winked at him.

"That's for me to know and for you to find out... eventually." He shrugged. "Honestly I'm surprised you haven't already Caleb. What? Alpha duties becoming to overwhelming for you? Can't figure out who's the traitor?" He was mocking Caleb and he was getting a high off of his anger. There was glint of mischievous intent in Flynn's eyes as he watched Caleb stiffen at this insinuation.

Caleb's muscles flexed and a sheen of sweat now coated his tense ab muscles. If it weren't for the current situation I would have thought he looked irresistible. Right now, however, felt like I was staring down the barrel of a gun I couldn't see and I wasn't sure when Flynn was going to decided to pull the trigger. Any movement felt like it would cause any of them to jump the gun.

"I'm telling you right now Flynn, you aren't taking her. I'm giving you one chance to leave before I decided to take you before the council for the dirt you've gotten your hands in." Caleb warned him but Flynn took his words as a joke laughing out loud at his meaningless threat.

Once Flynn caught his breath he masked his once humorous face with a menacing look. His eyes flickered to me. My breathing quickened and I took another step back but he moved too quickly. I had no time to react as he wrapped his arm around my waist moving behind me and pulling my flush against his chest. I squealed at the sudden movement, trying to pull away. Flynn knotted his fingers in my curls pulling my head back and exposing my neck. My pulse throbbed against the artery in my neck.

Flynn's breath was felt against my delicate flesh as I whimpered realizing he had lowered his mouth just inches from my neck. Fear crept up my back and sat in the pit of my stomach as it churned. Nausea was beginning to set in and the nap of my neck dropped with nervous sweat.

My eyes connected with Caleb showing him just how vulnerable I felt. I felt like collapsing, my knees felt like jello and my head felt like it was racing a hundred miles an hour. All Caleb could do was watch as the three other men blocked his way to me.

He looked distraught. There was panic behind his eyes as I watched him look around for a way to get to me.

There was none.

We were alone.

Completely alone.

"Get off your high horse Caleb and realize you aren't going to do anything. You can't run a pack let alone protect your mate." He came closer to my neck. "Where's her Presidio Casta?" Flynn jeered his question at Caleb egging him on to do something rash. He didn't. Caleb knew if he did he'd risk Flynn killing me.

I watched Caleb go from anger to fear for a split second before shifting back to rage. His eyes darted to my chest that should have held my pendant but it was missing. He'd never given me back the necklace after marking me and now it looked like I was completely at these people's mercy. I forced myself to swallow, though my mouth was drier than the Sahara desert.

"Just one... little bite and..." Flynn taunted his canine trailing down my neck. I squeezed my eyes shut feeling faint all of a sudden.

"Don't!" Caleb yelled reaching out and stepping closer. One of the three guys shoved him back and he stumbled a few steps before he regained his composure.

"Uh-Uh, one more step and I'll do it." My eyes snapped open when Flynn began pulling me back with him as he made small retreating steps. "Relax Caleb, she'll be alive... for a little while." His one hand teetered in the air in display of my shorten life span. "The fantom has more planned for her before they are ready to ruin you." Flynn sighed. "I intend to sit and watch that show."

Caleb bared his teeth growling ferociously at them all, the growl traveled long and far in the quiet forest. Surely someone heard him.

"C-Caleb..." I cried out feeling utterly helpless in his man's grasp. I wanted to be in Caleb's arms not this evil and vile man's hold. My skin crawled with disgust.

Caleb's eyes softened a moment as he took in my terror stricken appearance. Tears were welling up in my eyes as we took another step away from Caleb. No! They couldn't take me. Caleb had to stop them. I had to fight back. Something needed to be done. Anything!

Nothing.

"So long cuz. I promise to take good care of her." He let go of my hair and dipped down to pick me up, that's when my adrenaline kicked in. The moment his hold had loosened to pick me up I spun around and kneed him in the groin. He hunched over grabbing at his groin before ignoring the feeling.

Huffing in pain he chased after me as I took off into the forest. I wasn't sure what direction the estate was in but any place but where I was would better than here. My breath was rapid and my blood was pumping at a dangerously fast pace. I was waiting to collapse from exhaustion but my adrenaline continued to push me to knew limits as I forced myself to run fast, and run longer. I couldn't afford to get caught.

Thundering foot steps where trailing behind me and they were getting louder. I knew he was getting close and my fear became reality when my legs were tripped up when strong meaty arms wrapped around them dragging me to the muddy forest floor.

I pulled a leg free and kicked the perpetrator's face with the heel of my foot. Flynn cried out yelling, a stream of curses heard as he caught my free leg. He pulled them together as I thrashed and yelled to be let go. Ignoring all my yelling he pulled himself up my body using his weight to trap me beneath him.

"Get off me!" I screamed trying to shove him off but it only made my predicament worse as he caught my arms pinning them down on the ground of either side of my head.

"I see why Caleb can't keep his hands off you." He whispered his face just a few inches from my ear. "I can't imagine if you went through heat, that he could keep the same restraint has has towards you. I know I wouldn't be able to resist." As if a light bulb went off he pulled away from me and looked down with a cunning grin. "I think I can kill two birds with one stone. Get my revenge and answer to the fantom."

Before I could question what he meant he pulled the collar of my t-shirt down exposing my naked shoulder. "W-what are-" He swiftly lowered his mouth and I felt the same sharp poking I did on my neck earlier. My eyes enlarged in terror as I realized it was his teeth gliding against my damp skin.

No wait! Was what I wanted to scream but I couldn't get it out soon enough. His teeth sunk in and it didn't feel like the bite Caleb gave to me a week earlier. No this one was harsher, primal, and vicious.

I screamed on the top of my lungs and I was sure everyone within miles heard my blood curdling scream. Tears fell freely from my face as chocking sobs escaped my parched mouth. Flynn sunk his teeth in deeper, this time though I screamed it came out weaker. Tears blurred my vision as a searing blood boiling pain flowed from the bite through out my body. I felt like I had been set on fire from the inside, every limb felt locked in place, I honestly thought I had been paralyzed.

It wouldn't have matter if I had tried to move about. Flynn has securely held my arms against the ground. I was going no where on my own. I was at this man's complete mercy.

"Get off her!" A female voice yelled. I couldn't turn my neck immobilized by the bite but Flynn was thrown off me. I looked up to see a blur of red and black and then through my pooled tears I saw blonde.

"Fuck!" Taylor cursed pulling me onto her lap. She pulled the collar of my shirt down to look at the wound when I heard her growl and sniff it, I knew it had to be bad. "Shit, this is not good." She hissed. I watched her glance around the forest watching something as she scanned the area. "Where the fuck is Caleb?"

Her eyes fogged over as mine became heavier. I welcomed the slumber-like feeling that was slowly setting in, but it was rudely interrupted when my cheek was lightly smacked. I snapped my eyelids open to reveal a worried Taylor hovering over me. There was snarling and growling heard from every angle all the while I felt like I was burning alive.

"Oh no you don't. Stay awake." She pushed my hair out of my face. "You need to stay awake. You need-" Slick sweat and chills began to wreck my body as my eyes began to roll into the back of my head. "Fuck! Naní she's bleeding out!"

Was I really bleeding that bad? I hissed when I felt more than one pair of hands on my body. The roaming hands that pulled at the fabric of my shirt pulled vigorously tearing the shirt with ease. The cool spring air hit my upper body sending a brisk wave of comfort before the agonizing heat replaced it just ask quickly. I screamed out unable to hold me pain inside with out any release. I had to scream it felt better when I did like it was jettisoning my pain out into the air and free from my broken body.

I thought the searing pain would send me over the edge but it didn't. It was the second pair of hands that pushed firmly against my shoulder that gave way to one last scream that took all of my energy. The black void enveloped all of my senses as shouting and snarling sounded far off in the distance of my ears.

I wanted to stay awake, to know everything is okay but the darkness felt too comforting. The more I slipped away the less I felt so I embraced it with open arms and drifted off.
