《Line without a hook || Darlentina》Chapter 6

It's Regina, singing one of her favorite song from IV of Spades, Come inside of my heart, using Narda's acoustic guitar.
I love you
But I don't really show you
I'd call you
But only if you want me to
Oh, don't you let it stop
Oh, I won't let it happen, baby
I will never stop
But only if you listen to me
Regina's angelic voice just captured her.
"Gosh, her voice." Narda whispered while smiling like an idiot.
Narda sat on the door while still listening to Regina's angelic voice. Mas lalong na-inlove si Narda.
With the last strum, natapos na ang kanta and Narda stood up with a wide grin.
Does that mean, kinantahan ni Regina si Brian? Pagiisip ni Narda.
"Hi! You're home." Masayang bati ni Regina kay Narda.
Narda tiredly smiled and placed her bag at the nearest chair that she saw.
"Uh, Brian, mamaya nalang ulit ah?" Regina said to Brian.
"Oh sige sige, walang problema."
"Are you hungry?" Malambing na tanong ni Regina.
"Nope."
"Do you want me to order you a pizza?"
"Narda, are you okay?"
Tumango naman si Narda. "Why?"

"Are you sure ba?"
Narda raised her eyebrows.
"Tell me what's going on." Nag-aalalang sabi ni Regina.
"Nothing is going on, I am fine, Regina. I think I'm just tired."
"Oh, okay. Rest well." Malungkot na sabi ni Regina.
She honestly don't know what's happening to Narda.
"Yeah, may pupuntahan pako."
"Eat first."
Unfortunately, what she imagined, didn't turn out well.
"So wala kang kasama ngayon dyan?"
"Wala eh."
"Brian!"
"Regina!"
They hugged each other for a minute and then Brian opened the door for Regina.
Masaya silang umalis at kumain sa labas without knowing that Narda is watching them.
She smiled sadly as she went back to her condo. Regina's scent welcomed her, the scent that she got addicted to.

"Grabe yung scene nayun, ang sakit, sobra. Ang galing nila." Narda said.
Umiinom ngayon si Narda ng beer. Nakailang can narin sya at medyo lasing na sya.
Pumunta sya sa higaan at tumingin sa bintana.
"The moon is shining." Narda said. "Maybe the moon is happy, happy with someone else."
"While I am the sun, kasi ang hot ko. Naks iba ka talaga, Narda." Sabi nya ulit at tumawa.
"This one is for you, Regina. This song is something that I can relate, because it's confirmed that I like you after a months of being confused." Narda said before filming.
She strum the guitar and sang.
I don't really give a damn about the way you touch me
When we're alone
You can hold my hand
If no one's home
Do you like it when I'm away?
If I went and hurt my body, baby
Would you love me the same?
I can feel all my bones coming back
And I'm craving motion
Mama never really learns how to live by herself
It's a curse
And it's growing
You're a pond and I'm an ocean
Oh, all my emotions
Feel like explosions when you are around
And I've found a way to kill the sounds, oh
Oh, baby, I am a wreck when I'm without you
I need you here to stay
I broke all my bones that day I found you
Crying at the lake
Was it something I said to make you feel like you're a burden?
Oh, and if I could take it all back
I swear that I would pull you from the tide
Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa
I said no (I said no), I said no (I said no)
Listen close, it's a no
The wind is a-pounding on my back
And I found hope in a heart attack
Oh at last, it is past
Now I've got it, and you can't have it
Baby, I am a wreck when I'm without you
I need you here to stay
I broke all my bones that day I found you
Crying at the lake
Was it something I said to make you feel like you're a burden, oh
And if I could take it all back
I swear that I would pull you from the tide
Darling, when I'm fast asleep
I've seen this person watching me
Saying, "Is it worth it? Is it worth it? Tell me, is it worth it?" Oh
Punong-puno ng emosyon na kanta ni Narda. She's feeling it, she can relate.
Guess there is something, and there is nothing
There is nothing in between
And in my eyes, there is a tiny dancer
Watching over me, he's singing
"She's a, she's a lady, and I am just a boy"
He's singing, "She's a, she's a lady, and I am just a line without a hook"
Baby, I am a wreck when I'm without you
I need you here to stay
I broke all my bones that day I found you
Crying at the lake
Was it something I said to make you feel like you're a burden, oh
And if I could take it all back
I swear that I would pull you from the tide
With the last strum, Narda ended.
"Ilang buwan na simula nung magkakilala tayo, we share each other's secrets but this." Pagturo nya sa kanyang dibdib.
"What's inside this is the secret that I can't share to you. Hind ko kaya. Ayokong matapos lahat nang to nang dahil lang sakin." Humihikbing sabi nya.
Pinunasan nya ang kanyang mga luha at sabay sabing, "You are inlove with someone that will never be me."

Humanity's End
Given a year to prepare by the mysterious ‘system’ for contact with the wider galaxy, humanity must work to ensure the Earth’s defense is ready to meet any challenge. Sadly, most of the world seems dedicated to tearing itself apart as the year-end deadline gets closer. The west is in barely contained Chaos, while the east descends into internal conflict and war. The Pillar Forts, one of the few successful projects of the United Nations headed by the United States, stand ready to defend humanity against any invasion that may come through the strange Connection Pillars that appeared on each continent. Massive steel and stone walls that surround the Connection Pillars. They are filled with deadly men and women trained in all manner of warfare, each trained in the newly acquired System with skills and magical abilities that they put to deadly purpose. Beside these brave warriors, tanks, helicopters, artillery and more stand ready to defend humanity at each of these powerful installations. But, can they overcome the disparity in levels and experience between themselves and the forces that threaten them and the rest of humanity? Main Characters Jessica Brown- A young African American girl. Her 18th birthday in Detroit was the same day the systems message appeared. She discovered she was Level 7, much higher than most of the rest of the world. Why she is blessed, or cursed, with the power she doesn’t know. But what she does know is that she rather likes the feeling that comes with manipulating magic. The week after her birthday, government workers started testing every person in the US in a massive census effort of skills and abilities. Jessica Brown found herself conscripted into the US Magical Corp, a new branch of the US Military, and shipped off to a Pillar Fort. Somewhere hot and muggy in her ancestors’ home of Africa. As she grows stronger, she finds she has some connection to the pillars. While everyone else sees beauty or danger when they look at the pillars, after connection is made all Jessica can see is a Tree. A tree the size of the entire universe. Isaka Smith - is a third generation American and farmer who just wants to be left alone. But she is dragged into the situation by events beyond her control. When people in her small town had to deal with rioters and looters after the system announcement, she rallied them to defend themselves, earning her a trait that the government found extraordinarily useful. After a visit to a local reservation, she finds herself conscripted to lead one of the many small support towns erected around the great pillar forts. Not near her old home, but in far-flung Africa. John McIntire, the “Fighting Bull” -The commander of the African Fort, but because of circumstances beyond his ability to contend with shortly after taking command after being re-activated from retirement, he finds communication with his chain of command increasingly difficult. The US government, hell, even the United Nations, seems to have fallen into complete and utter chaos. The African Union is embroiled in a bitter civil war just outside his door, and supposedly, most of the world governments are in similar situations. Meanwhile, John must do his best to be ready to facilitate diplomacy, or to match the hostile argument of whatever force might come through the pillar of light when the year timer finishes counting down. Can our heros defend Earth from outside threats, while it tares itself apart? Or will they need to rebuild from the ground up? DEDICATION: This story is dedicated to my father who passed away recently. Jim Holloway, you’ll be missed you old silverback gorilla. Love you dad. Always have, always will.
