"You're eyes are brighter than all the stars above"
Song- Dancing in the dark; Rihanna
"So is that a yes?" Theo asks with anticipation. Him and Connor bounce impatiently. Grayson, Cam and I sat on the couch. All three of the parents glanced at each other warily.
"Should we?" Dave questions, raising a brow. Grayson whispers yes repeatedly in his ear before Dave swats him away.
"Will you guys be safe?" Mom wonders, looking at us.
"Always Charlotte." Cam nods.
"And you'll be back before school on Tuesday?" Sara pops her hip out, placing a hand on it. School was cancelled on Monday due to a random reason.
Brianna's grandma has a secluded cabin she offered to let us all stay in. We had it all planned out we just needed our parents permission. Mom and Sara nod to Dave and he sighs.
"I guess you can go but do you all remember the rules?"
"No drinking and driving, no drugs, no riding with strangers, no going near cliffs and no kidnapping cute babies or animals" we all drone off for the millionth time, they all look to me during the last part.
"It was one time!"
"Snacks?" Bri asks.
"Check!" Asher calls from the back of Miles dads minivan he uses for ice cream delivery's he's letting us borrow.
"Blankets and pillows?"
"Check!" Grayson points to a pile of blankets and pillows.
"First aid kit?"
"Um-" Connor looks around.
"Why do we need a first aid kit?" I ask, looking to her.
"Because Theo's coming." She responds plainly, looking at her clipboard.
"Check!" Miles holds up a first aid kit before placing it in the trunk.
"Alcohol?"
"Check!" Theo holds up 2 twelve packs of beer.
"And double check!" Addie shows us a few bottles of various hard liquor and I can practically feel my hangover.
"Well, I think we're ready to go." Brianna announces, throwing her checklist in the trunk and climbing into the 3rd row of the van with Theo and Connor. Addie, Cam and Grayson sit in the second row while I sit in the front with Miles since I wanted song choosing duties.
Once we're on the road we blast music loudly, all screaming and dancing in our seats. After about 20 bathroom breaks, 3 gas stops and a flat tire we finally arrive at the cabin.
The cabin is a pretty good size, wooden with nothing but trees and flowers surrounding it. A long gravel driveways connects us to a few more cabins at least a quarter of a mile away. Bri unlocks the door and we all unload.
Cam and I decide to help get drinks from the car. When we come back in everyone had already chosen their room. Brianna was staying in her room, Addie was staying in the loft. Connor and Grayson claimed the living room since it had a tv. Asher and Miles got the two guest rooms.
Theo weirdly wanted to sleep outside in a hammock but I bet he'll in up in the living room with the boys after 30 minutes. The only two rooms left were in the basement. I grab my bag and follow Cameron downstairs.
The basement had a large game room with a pool table and air hockey. There was also a large selection of games to play and a mini kitchen. To the right was a bathroom and laundry room. The left was a small hallway with 2 bedrooms across from each other.
"You pick first, I'll get the other one." He tells me, setting down his bag.

"You don't have to tell me twice." I wink, opening both rooms. They were the same except one had a vanity and the one on the left didn't. I took the right room and threw my bag on my dresser, getting changed into some sweats and a cropped tank top.
It was already pretty late since we drove most of the day. Well that and the flat tire that took 2 hours to fix. We stopped to get some gas station food before we got here so everyone probably had already started drinking.
And I was correct.
They had the bottled and cans set up but when Bri told them about the basement, they all drug it all downstairs so we could play games too. We played a giant game of pool and whoever missed a shot had to take a shot. After a couple hours we were all plenty drunk.
Connor and Grayson had a limit but I'm sure they drunk over that when Miles, Brianna and I weren't looking seeing as they were both completely plastered. They were both older than we all were when we drank but I still feel irresponsible for letting them.
I would get mad at them but the giant hangover they'll have tomorrow will be punishment enough. We stayed up until the sun rose, drinking, dancing and playing games. Then we all went to our rooms and slept the hungover off. I woke up Saturday evening not feeling too horrible.
Apparently so did everyone else since they were upstairs eating pancakes and talking loudly. That is except Connor and Grayson who both had their hands over the heads and their eyes squeezed shut.
"Awe, baby's first hangover. I need a picture of this." I coo loudly as they wince.
"Already done!" Theo exclaims.
"Shhhh" Connor shakes his head.
"Voice level 1" Grayson groan, shoving pancakes into his mouth.
"I'm pretty sure Theo only had two voice levels." Addie chuckles, pouring orange juice. "Loud and louder."
"Hey!"
"That's not true." I disagree.
"Thanks."
"He also had drunk Theo that's even louder." I remarks and Theo pouts as everyone else laughs.
"You guys are mean."
Saturday night we decide to go on a short hike and save the rest of the alcohol for tomorrow night since it's our last night here. Grayson and Connor, who usually lead the hikes, trail behind us with sour looks. Theo collects every big stick he finds and claims it as his walking stick until he finds a new one and ditches the old one.
Bri collects random rocks and flowers she finds in a little basket she brought. While we're walking, Miles tells us a story he read about a group of teens who got murdered while hiking.
"That's not going to make us paranoid at all." Cameron retorts, shaking his head.
"I could take any bad guy!" Theo annouces, standing on a rock and holding his stick into the air.
"And when Theo gets murdered I'll swoop in and save the lady's." Asher smirks, wrapping an arm around Brianna and I.
"Or" I shove his arm off. "You'll all run away like cowards leaving us girls to defeat the murdered which we would."
"That's the most plausible." Addie agrees, flicking Ashers head.
"I can picture all of them running away like little babies." Bri giggles, grabbing another flower off of the ground.
"We're right here." Miles comments, raising his hand up.
"Yeah, we know." I say plainly, glancing at him.
"Now I'm offended, I wouldn't run away screaming." Cam wraps an arm around me.

"No, you would be crying." I tease, patting his chest.
When we get to a small waterfall the sun was setting right above it. We all sat on a couple logs and watch the sun set over the streaming water. A sense of peace filled us all as we watch silently. When it's completely dark we head back down the trail.
Crickets chirp and leaves crunch under our feet. Everyone talks about random things as we walk back to the cabin. Cameron and Asher make a campfire in the backyard. When I get out there the roaring fire breaks the darkness of the night.
Camping chairs surround it and everyone already claimed one. We were one short and I realized I would have to sit on the ground. I groan and stomp over to the group. When I go to sit, someone grabs me around my waist and pulls me into their lap.
"My lap is much more comfortable than the ground." Cameron whispers in my ear. I angle my head down so I can hide the redness in my cheeks.
Theo brings out a speaker and plays music. He and Addie dance around while the rest of us watch. When they calm down we move on to telling scary stories which were completely dumb and equally hilarious.
When the fire dies we go inside, shower and change into pajamas. I throw my hair into a pony tail and change into a t-shirt and some shorts. Everyone was upstairs, arguing over want movie to watch. I sit on the couch next to Addie and we share a blanket and a bowl of popcorn.
We decide on a horror movie about a cabin so we could scare Theo, Bri and Miles. Our plan was a success since Theo ended up cuddling with Cam who looked like he'd rather be jumping off of a 10 story building. Bri had joined Addie and I in the first 2 minutes and is smooshed between us, hiding her face in my shoulder.
Miles is pretending to be brave but jumps every minute or so and had a pillow basically infused in his chest. Cam sends me a look and winks. I immediately know his plan as he stands up and announces that he has to piss.
A couple minutes pass and a bang sounds at the window. Everyone besides me screams. Bri looks on the edge of tears so I whisper into her ear, explaining its just Cameron. She relaxes as more bangs come. Theo dives into Asher arms and Asher looks annoyed but scared.
Bri and I fake scream as more bangs come to make it more believable. Miles hides his face into the pillow and Addie looks ready to fight someone. Connor and Grayson grab the closest things near them for a weapon which happens to be a bag of skittles and a solo cup.
When Cam walks in the front door he doubled over in laughter. Bri and I join him and the rest of the group glares at us. Theo stands up, brushing his pants off.
"I wasn't even scared." Theo tells us, acting brave.
"Tell that to Asher, you practically smooshed him." Bri giggles, kicking his leg softly.
"I was going to kill you." Addie says to Cam. "Actually, I still might."
"You're annoying" Connor grumbles, setting down the solo cup.
"What were you guys going to do? Kill a psycho with skittles and a cup?" I ask the boys who both flip me off.
"Okay, no violence." Miles shakes his head, resuming the movie.
Cam sits on the floor, between my legs. His hand wraps around my thigh, sending electricity sparking all throughout me. I shift slightly and try to focus on the movie but I can't with his thumb rubbing little circles on my thighs.
The rest of the movie was spent with us making fun of it to make it less scary. When it was over, we all went to our rooms. As Cam and I walked down the stairs we talked about the prank from earlier.
"I thought Theo was going to cry." I chuckle, stepping off of the last stair.
"I wish we got that on video." He stops in the hall in front of both of our doors.
"Goodnight Cam."
The way he looks at me makes my heart skip a beat. His hair is it's usual mess, he was wearing grey sweats and a white shirt. Through his eyes I could see he was having a battle in his mind.
If a psycho with a knife walked in, he could cut the tension.
He slowly moves toward me, stopping half way. I take a step and our lips meet. The kiss was soft and quick but when we pulled apart, his hand cupped the back of my head and pulled me in again.
When he pulled away again, he looked regretful. "Shit, I'm sorry Lee. I shouldn't of done that?"
"Why?" I feel my heart crack slightly.
"It's just you have so much going on right now, you don't need me adding myself to your list of problems." He sighs, his eyes were soft and he sends me a tight lipped smile.
Words could barley form so I just nod and say "thanks."
"Goodnight." Cam watches as I open my door and go into my room. I shut the door behind me and lean against it. I close my eyes and huff out a breath of air.
He was right but why did it feel so wrong. I needed to focus on myself right now but I wanted to focus on him. The way his lips felt against mine, the way his touch made electricity shoot throughout me or the way his smile immediately brightened my day.
I push off the door and turn around. My hand wraps around the cold doorknob and I freeze for a moment. I take a deep breath and I'm met with Cameron standing at the door with his hand in the air as if he was about to knock.
We crash into each other, stumbling into the room barley coming up for air. I push the door shut and lock it. I fall onto my bed and Cam leans overtop of me, smiling.
"I've wanted this for so long." He whispers, kissing me shortly.
"Me too." I agree, placing my hand on his neck and connecting our lips again. Even if I didn't know it, I've wanted this for a long time. I've wanted him.
I tug at his shirt and he lifts it over his head, kissing my neck. I angle my head back, running my hands through his hair. His lips makes there way up my neck and back to my mouth.
It was different with Cameron than it was with Evan. So different. There was a connection between us, that and I was conscious this time. Even kissing him was different. There was passion and caring, it made me feel a way I've never felt before.
Because it was Cam, and he's more than just my best friend. Way more.
