Path of the Ancients
When humans with the ability to control the fundamental particles of the universe with their minds were first discovered, the age of space travel began in earnest. Relativistic travel faster than the speed of light became possible and humanity moved out into the stars. When it was discovered that these Mages could be turned into effective weapons, humanity turned back to its oldest pastime of war. Hundreds of years later as humanity was on the brink of self-destruction, with its taste for war finally beginning to wane, a new organization was created. The Conclave was formed to regulate all Mage’s within the human colonies. While the colonies maintained their independence, the Conclave’s control over access to interstellar travel made them the de facto power amongst humanity. As the old saying goes, ‘Power Corrupts’, and many people were unhappy with the way the Conclave had been leveraging its authority, not the least of which were the Mages they controlled. One unregistered illegal Mage by the name of Tyrial had made it his life's mission to dismantle the Conclave at any cost. After spending decades working towards his goals alone, he realized he would need the aid of willing allies in his crusade. Tyrial would need all the help he could get learning to work with others, dealing with his own dark past, and handling unfamiliar feelings of romantic interest. Content Warning Note: They are there to cover my behind. I honestly hesitated to put them there at all but I figured better safe than sorry. Gore in particular barely applies and the sexual content amounts to light Cinemax style at best. But, at least now you can’t say I didn’t warn you. A Misleading Shell
Noah has trouble showing emotions even though he feels them, which mislead people around him and caused them to have an unfavourable impression of him so he grew up isolated until the age of 18 where an incident took place. After he woke up from the incident, he noticed that he wasn't in a hospital, but on a bed in a small hut. huh? "Where a- why are my hands small?" Noah said with a blank face. Wait it wasn't just my hands!! My whole body shrunk! He sat up on the bed, is this a dream? He pinched his cheek, ouch! so this isn't a dream but why am I small? He glanced to the side only to find two corpses that have black bubbles on their skin. No this is definitely a dream, right?! Wake up! please? Suddenly, excruciating pain burst in his head and images started flashing, as if he was seeing memories. Magic? Elves? Fairies? Demonic beasts? Those exist here? So is this not Earth? It seems just like those fantasy worlds he's read about. Well my priority right now is to leave this village, everyone seems to have died to a disease and I don't want to catch it. Then he found out that he was in the middle of nowhere. Oh no. After some years... "Nice to meet you! my name is Amaris, what's yours?" Asked a beautiful girl. Amaris... Amaris? Aeyora? Bête noire? A fantasy like world with beasts and mythical races? !!! It's that dating simulator game!

While others struggle to hold on to their hard-fought victories. In the midst of all of this is The Second Roman Empire. At the center of the Middle Eastern world, the empire finds itself struggling to keep Eastern neighbors at bay while old enemies stir up trouble from within. When documents pertaining to the identities of the many men working to undermine the empire show themselves in domestic waters. The Empire readies itself to slice off the many parasites draining the government of both wealth and unity. If only the documents didn't also happen to end up on The Dotted Isles. Dozens of man-made islands, some even hundreds of miles large. And currently one of the most unstable areas of the entire empire. As Roman agents rush to the document, Italian forces move in tandem to set up Insurgencies to wrestle control away from the Romans. And as all this goes down, the common citizen remains, either Vat-Born or Birthed. As it turns out, sometimes the greatest players of these conflicts happen to be the men and women who know least about them. As an author, I'd like to interact with my community and get ideas and what I can improve on. I'm not perfect and don't expect a masterpiece. I may have a bit of experience writing as a hobby, I make mistakes and my style is a bit rough around the edges. I hope you stick around and watch me build this story up. I don't have a predetermined schedule and the releases will be slow. Since I got college, my schedule is most likely 1-2 chapters a month but that shouldn't be that bad since I get some time to think about what I can write in the story. Again, my apologies for that.
