《A Twist In Time》All The Brewing Havoc

As I woke, I was slightly grateful that it wasn't the middle of the night during a storm.

I wasn't sure if my dream was just a dream or a vision.

Tommy believed it was a vision due to his dream continuing where mine ended. It was strange. Especially for us to be somewhat sharing dreams.

I was going to talk to Newt about it and ask if he'd heard anything about this before.

"Mama," TJ cooed as he came barreling into the room, his Hungarian Horntail 'Arry, hanging from his arms. "Arry 'ick." Tommy glanced down at TJ as he clambered onto the bed, shoving Harry at us. "He 'ick."

"Oh no," I gasped, pretending to be extra concerned about the dragon. "What's happened to Harry?"

I could see Tommy smirking from beside me, but he quickly put on his serious face when TJ looked at him.

"Arry 'ick, Da."

"You should let your mother look at him," Tommy suggested, shifting into a more comfortable position as TJ pounced on him, Harry being flung at me. "She is a nurse, you know."

"'Ix him, Mama," TJ begged, clinging onto Tommy's arms as he had this petrified look on his face.

"Okay, let me have a look at you, Harry," I muttered, rolling my eyes at Tommy as he gave me a smug smile. This was his revenge for the last time Harry was 'sick' and I made him deal with it. "Looks to me that little Harry has the case of red spots," I said, quickly flicking my wand at the dragon plushie and smiling when red spots covered him. "We're going to have to treat this with a medicated bath, TJ."

"A bath? No!"

Tommy chuckled at his son's distraught look and the way he tried to scramble off the bed.

"I 'ate baths!" he cried, trying in vain to get out of Tommy's grip. "No, Da, no!"

"Right, that's enough," I said, scooping TJ into my arms, trying to suppress a smile when he stuck his tongue out to Tommy. "How about we go have breakfast and then I can run a bath for you?" He started pouting, his bottom lip pushed out and quivering. "Don't pout, Thomas-J. It's bath time for everyone. Aunt Polly's bringing Edward, Danny and Artie for one too."

"Pancakes?" he asked softly, knowing for a fact that we only had pancakes on special occasions.

"We don't have pancakes on bath day, TJ."

"Err," he groaned, finally being able to move as I released him. He scrambled off the bed, and gave me a pointed look, his little chin raised proudly in the air as he crossed his arms over his chest in annoyance.

It was moments like these that I forgot he was once destined to be a Dark Lord. I always found it hard to believe that the Dark Lord would have tantrums and pout.

"See," Tommy said, nodding towards his grumpy son. "Just like you."

It wasn't very often Newt was gone from the house, he wouldn't admit it but he liked the Shelby's and hated being away from them for long.

On occasion we would disappear for a couple of days at a time, especially when he was off saving some magical creature. He was away at the moment which was why I was debating whether to tell Finn about Hogwarts without him.

It was therefore surprising when he came barging through the door, suitcase flying behind him, his Hufflepuff scarf blowing out as if the wind was crazy inside the house.

"I'm here! I'm here," he breathed out, collapsing into a chair as a cup of tea floated towards him.

"Aren't you meant to be in Bulgaria?" I knew for a fact that he was sent out there after a sighting of a Chinese Fireball. "Don't tell me you've got a dragon in that bloody suitcase of yours."

"Of course not." For some reason I didn't believe him and he was definitely looking a little shifty. "I got your letter about Finn. I knew if I was any longer you'd tell him without me."

"It's as if you can read my mind," I muttered, pausing in the doorway of the kitchen and gave a shake of my head. "Finn!" I called, hearing him muttered from somewhere in the house. "Come to the kitchen. There's something I need to talk to you about."

Turning back to Newt, I sat across from him and gave him a pointed look.

"Whatever happened it wasn't me."

"I didn't even say anything," I said, giving him a smirk as he looked all flustered.

"Alright, so I may have found a male Crup and I brought him back here and he caught onto Nova's scent and she's - in his eyes - beautiful and it may have led to her ending up pregnant which is why I've hidden her in my suitcase."

"I knew you'd done something to her!" I said, knowing there was a reason I hadn't seen Nova and why he was acting all suspicious when I mentioned her.

"It wasn't me! I didn't get her pregnant!" he argued, his face going red as he tried to defend himself.

"You brought the traitor back that knocked her up!"

"She's going to have cute puppies," he defended as if that was a good enough reason to stop shouting at him.

"And what are we going to do with them? They're going to cause havoc."

"I'll think of something," he grumbled, sitting up straighter as Finn came running down the stairs and joined us in the kitchen.

"Am I in trouble?" he asked, taking the seat I nodded at.

"Should you be in trouble?"

Newt smirked at my use of reverse psychology on the boy. If he wanted to admit to anything he could.

"No?"

"Are you sure? That sounded more like a question than an answer."

"No, I'm pretty sure I've done nothing wrong," he said, this time sounding more confident.

"Okay then."

"Can I go then?"

"Actually, Newt and I have something we want to talk to you about," I said, lifting Finn's Hogwarts letter and handing it over to him.

Finn took it with excitement, obviously knowing what this meant and was practically bouncing in his seat as he opened it.

"Really? This is amazing!" Merlin, I was really going to have to stop using words like that around the children.

"We actually have a job for you, Finn, you see your friend, Isiah has also received a letter but we need some help explaining it to him and his father. We think it will be better if you helped us do this as Isaiah knows you."

"Isiah's coming to Hogwarts too?"

"Yes, but we need to tell him first."

"This is going to be so cool. Can you imagine all the trouble we can get up to at Hogwarts?"

"What?" I gave him a pointed look and smiled when his face flushed in embarrassment. I could only imagine all the havoc they'd get up to at Hogwarts, especially with that glint in Finn's eyes. It reminded me of Uncle George.

"I mean, can you imagine all the magic we're going to learn at Hogwarts?"

"That's better."

It turned out that explaining magic to Jeremiah Jesus wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. As Tommy expected, his late wife had been a witch and had mentioned it to him when they first started courting. She'd told him about the possibility of their children being magical, but had died in a sickness before Isiah even started showing magic.

I had agreed to deal with all the school supplies and even take Finn and Isiah to Diagon Alley in the summer to collect the school supplies. In the meantime, it seemed the two new future Hogwarts students were as thick as thieves.

Finn had gotten it into his head that he had to make as much havoc as possible before he left for Hogwarts in September which meant I'd often find the two boys getting into trouble around Small Heath, even going as far as to get Matthew involved too.

"Your Finn's a little shit," Lizzie said exactly three weeks after the famous duo got told they'd be attending Hogwarts.

"What's he done now?" I asked, moving around the extended room I'd added to the kitchen so I could get all the sheets for the dorms washed and dried before the grand opening next week.

Luckily, when Phin said he knew some people to help out with the redecorating and rearranging the hospital he meant wizards which meant the job got done faster than planned. It meant the Shelby Home for Children would be ready to open and welcome its first children next week.

"He's flirting with teen girls down the school alley," she said, a smirk on her face as I glanced at her in surprise.

"He's been to school?"

Lizzie scoffed and welcomed the bouncing toddler that came running towards her, a bright smile on his face.

"Izzie!" TJ shouted, reaching up for her and giggling as she gave in and picked him up, pressing kisses to his cheeks.

"No, he's been running riot around Small Heath all day with a trail of orphans behind him," she said, that knowing smile on her face.

"I knew it was a bad idea introducing Finn to them," I muttered regretting bringing the youngest Shelby brother when trying to gain the trust of the children Artie had introduced me to.

There were ten children coming to move into the Shelby Home for Children, hopefully most of them would be moved in by tomorrow but I'd been housing them in the parlour when they agreed to stay the night over the last couple of weeks. It was hard at first, most of them were terrified of Tommy and while they promised they would come live at the Home, they weren't so keen on staying here while they waited.

"Tommy's sorting him out so I expect one of them will come back grumpy."

"Or both, that's just what I need," I grumbled, turning out of the makeshift laundry room and looked at her, my hands on my hips. "How are you finding your new home?" I asked her, generally curious as to how she was dealing with selling her house and moving into the apartment block at the Children's Home.

"You know me, I'm used to living alone. I've got to say though that the flat you set me up in is a lot nicer than the house I had."

"And how are the other's settling in?"

"Phillis is great," Lizzie admitted and I knew I'd made a great decision in hiring the aged witch. She wasn't old, in her fifties, but she always called herself an old witch. She was a half-blood, her mother being a muggle and she had a love for the muggle world more than the wizarding one. When she heard about the children's home she was one of the first to apply for the job, bringing along her niece Hazel who was one of our teachers. "She's set the girls rules and has even created a rota for us all, in which most of us have a day off in the week and alternate days off on the weekend."

"She does sound great. I didn't hire her for that, just as the Senior Matron under you," I said, turning my head to the door as Tommy entered, a hundred stomping feet following him. "Hello."

"Afternoon," he greeted, pressing a quick kiss to my lips only to pull back at several moans of disgust. "I brought this lot back, they were running around after Finn."

I glanced at the seven children that had come back with him and was happy that I could recall all of their names. It was also no surprise that they all loved Tommy once they got to know him.

"Rachel, Miriam, why don't you take Iva and Harvey upstairs for a nap while I clean up these three," I said, gesturing to the three older boys, Rowland, Russel and Vincent.

"Okay, Mrs Shelby," Rachel said, taking hold of Iva's hand and following Miriam and Harvey up the stairs.

"I'll go help them," Lizzie said, handing TJ to Tommy when the boy reached out for his father.

"What have I told you three about following Finn, huh?" I asked, grabbing a cloth and wetting it before waving them over to the sink. "Wash your hands and faces. What have you been up to?"

"Finn 'ad us sneaking 'round the coal factory," Rowland grumbled, grimacing at the feel of the cold water on his face.

"Yeah, he said, he 'ad sumthing to show us," added Vincent, shuffling on his feet as he glanced over at Tommy, who was watching them keenly.

"But he just left us there," finished Russel, the three of them looking put out at the idea of Finn playing them.

"I've told you three not to follow or listen to Finn," I said, giving them pointed looks as I placed my hands on my hips. "He's being a little shit at the moment and it's best to avoid him and Isiah and their stupid games."

"Is that why you're sending 'im off to school?" Russel asked, a curious look on his face.

"No, it's not why I'm sending him off to school."

"Mr Tommy said if we were bad, we'd be shipped off to boarding school like Finn and Isiah," Vincent muttered, his eyes flicking to Tommy once again.

"Is that what he said, aye?" I muttered, glancing at my husband and seeing the look of amusement on his face. The three boys nodded their heads, looking between me and Tommy as if waiting for something. "Right, why don't you go join the others and play quietly upstairs. I'll be having a word with Mr Shelby over there."

Without a word, the three boys ran out of the kitchen and scrambled up the stairs, joining the others.

"Right, it's not what it seems."

"I can't believe you, Thomas Shelby!" I snapped, trying to keep my voice controlled as TJ looked at me as I started shouting at his dad. "How many times have you used that threat on them, huh?"

"It was only the one time and it's because they were running riot in the coal factory causing havoc. I couldn't think of another way to get them to listen to me."

"You lied to them!" I couldn't help but think about the horrors they probably thought Finn and Isiah were going to when they went off to school in September. "None of them are going to want to go to school next week and it's going to be because of you." I crossed my arms over my chest and looked him over, hoping he could tell I was annoyed. "You're the one that's caused havoc. Havoc for me!" I said poking him in the chest, slapping his hand away when he went to stop me. "Sort this out, Mr Shelby."

"If any of them play up, I'll have a word."

"It was your words that caused this mess," I grumbled, annoyed at myself that I wasn't able to stay mad at him for long. "You can give TJ his bath tonight." I knew Tommy hated giving TJ his bath after the poo accident the first time.

"He's already had a bath today," Tommy grumbled, reminding me that he had in fact already had his bath.

I glared at him, feeling myself shimmer in the growing anger Tommy was just brewing in me as he looked so smug.

"Well perhaps your son has gotten himself into some havoc!" I snapped, daring him to utter another word.

"You know," Tommy said, leaning down so his eyes were directly locked with mine.. !You always refer to him as my son when your annoyed at me. Not our son."

"That's because he pisses me off as easily as you do," I muttered, trying to pull away as he smiled and pulled me into him. "Thomas, I'm annoyed at you."

"I know," he replied, pressing kisses to my cheeks and nose, that smile still on his face. "Let's have another baby." I rose my eyebrows at that, peering at him, wondering if he was serious. "A little girl that looks just like you that steals my heart just like her mother does."

"Right, now I know your just trying to get yourself out of trouble," I said, smiling and giving in to him, wrapping my arms over his shoulders. "You're off the hook, you don't need to give our son a bath, but we don't need another baby right now."

"No you're right." Tommy bent down and pressed a kiss to my lips, his hands coming up and tucking my curls behind my ears. "Let's have twins."

"Oh piss off, Tommy! We're not having anymore children until you're gotten rid of Campbell. I mean it, Thomas. I will not stand for that man being in the same place as my children. I'm terrified to let any of the children out of the house. Polly had to force me to let go of TJ the other day when she took them to the park with Ada and Phin. He scares me and I don't get scared easily."

It was strange being scared of a man that had less power than me in a sense. I had magic and he didn't but he did have a sort of power I didn't. He had men under his thumb that would do anything he said and I was afraid he was going to take TJ away from me.

"What happens if he took TJ? I would die, Tommy. I would die if anything happened to him."

"Nothing is going to happen to TJ. I would kill anyone that out their hands on him. I promise you that, Romy. I promise no one will touch him." I could tell be the look in Tommy's eyes that he meant it, but part of me was still scared. "I was scared too, when I saw what he had his men do to you, but he chased that fear away and it was replaced by anger. Anger and revenge and I swear to you Romy, I will get my revenge."
