Speeding down the highway with all the windows down, music softly playing in the background, I had my head leant back against the head rest. I tilted my head towards Theo, watching as an orange glow from the sun streamed in through the open window, casting an outline around his face. His left hand was placed on the wheel whilst the other was tapping continuously against his naked thigh, the action becoming satisfying that I could almost drop to sleep. I inhaled a breath and my body shook from the impact as I had only just recently cried my heart out.

Theo's thin, straight hair from before was now curly and unkempt — perhaps it was all the sea water that had done that to his hair, or maybe it was the wind hitting him at such a force from driving so fast. He really was driving fast.

I traced my fingers along the leather of his seat, inhaling the strong scent of smoke and fresh polish. Everything in this car seemed super clean and neat. No dust or crumbs like in my car, no marks or scrapes on the dashboard like on mine (thanks Cal), everything looked how he did. Expensive.

I pushed back my hair behind my ears, my hand coming to dance with the wind. I smiled aimlessly to myself as I let the breeze take control of my hand, making it sway back and fourth. I loved doing this.

I couldn't be more grateful that I had almost forgotten about Dad and Mrs Walker. I could thank Theo for making me forget. They had almost left my mind. Though I felt a harsh weight of the safeness I was still holding onto...but maybe I could just forget, forget about it just for today and then I'r tell my Mom.

A deep clear of the throat made me turn my head. My cheeks were burning slightly so I looked down at my lap in the hope that he couldn't see hoe pink I actually was. I felt Theo's eyes burning into the side of my head and I realised we had come to a stop.

Were we here?

I looked up. No, we were not here. We had stopped at a red light. I patted my cheeks and looked down at my shoes, rubbing them both against each other hoping to clear my mind of any embarrassment.

"I've got to quickly stop off somewhere but it won't take long." He said, his voice piercing the awkward silence between us. From the corner of my eye I could see him tilting his head down slightly to try and see my face. I cleared my throat, finally feeling the heat rushing from my body. I looked up and meet his green eyes that were already looking at me.

I gulped and nodded to him. "Okay. That's fine."

Before he turned away I saw a small smile play on his lips and I mentally cursed to myself for being so obvious. He must've seen that. I bet I still looked like a red tomato.

None of us shared anymore words between us for the time being. The only sounds were the engine of the car roaring and the music quietly playing in the background. But I couldn't hear any of the lyrics.

I fiddled with my fingers and stared down at the intricate design of my nails. Maria definitely did an amazing job on them.

All of my running thoughts came to an abrupt stop as the car switched off, the keys being fondled with and shoved into my palms. "Keep them safe. I'll be five minutes tops." Was all Theo said before shutting the car door behind him and disappearing into the door to a tattoo shop. A tattoo shop?

I leant forward, grasping the keys tightly in my hands, the cold metal from the various keychains burning my warm skin. The tattoo shop in front of me was all made out of grey brick, standing out from the rest of the stores on the street. It had black frames and a light tint to the windows, a massive light up sign saying 'TATTOO' as it hung up on the wall, an arrow pointing down to the door. From what I could see in the store window were some skulls, some old-fashioned suits and dresses and pictures of dragon tattoo's as they were all displayed out on show for everyone to see.

"What's he doing in there?" I found myself asking. I knew he had tattoo's of his own, but what was he going in there for? He couldn't be getting another tattoo under the span of the five minutes he said he was going to take. Not that I would've minded because tattoo's suited hi .

The place looked scarily cool. Getting tattoo's must really hurt though.

As the clock ticked, five minutes passed by and the door to the store swung open, revealing a shaggy looking Theo who now had his wallet and a jumper in his hands. Did he leave them in there?

I sat in silence with his heavy keys in my hands as he slipped back into his seat and chucking his stuff from his hands into the back seat. "Here you go." I said quietly and passed him his keys, that weighed a ton in my hands anyway. But for him, he just plucked them from my hands with two fingers as if they weighed nothing. He had got a lot of metal keychains on there, trust me, it was heavy and I wasn't being dramatic.

As he was about to insert his keys into the ignition, he paused. "Want to grab some food to take with us?" He looked over, his dark hair falling over his eyes.

"Sure." I gave him a tight-lip smile and followed him out of the car and back onto the pavement. "Is there any place you want to go?" I asked him and looked up.

"Don't worry about me, I'll eat anything. You choose." He nodded his head down at me and I shifted my weight onto each foot, feeling the pressure rise. I wasn't good at choosing things.

After a couple minutes I finally spoke. "Pizza?"

"Good choice." He smiled and gestured for me to follow him to the pizza place that was just down the road. LA was always a busy place, but that was why I liked it. I liked the atmosphere here and also the high end fashion.

My mind drifted to Stephanie. God to forbid what she'd think if she found out I was out with her supposed 'ex'.

We made our way down to the shop and Theo stopped. I looked at him in confusion then saw his hand holding open the door. "Thanks." I muttered shyly. He hummed in response. I looked up at him and saw he was looking at the menu, already taking out his card from his phone case. He did the same thing as me. Our brains thought alike.

"What do you want?" He asked, his gaze dropping from the menu board and down to me. My mouth opened and closed, words not forming. I uncomfortably shuffled under his gaze, feeling the pressure of picking something, rise once again. I turned my focus up to the menu and scan the list of choices.

"BBQ chicken." I said. "Oh, and a coke."

I stood back, allowing Theo to walk in front to order his food first. What a kind person I was.

The lady from behind the counter's eyes widened as she took in Theo from head to toe. Whilst he was glancing up at the menu board she quickly fluffed up her hair and dragged her top down slightly to reveal her chest more.

I hated when girls did that, not because it took the attraction away from myself — not like I got any attention anyway — but I hate how girls felt the need to degrade themselves just to stand out or get attention from other people. She was a really pretty girl but she really had no means to do that. She barely looked my age!

She looked younger!

"Hey, what can I get for you handsome?" She smirked, leaning forwards to show him what was exactly down her shirt. But he didn't look interested, hell he didn't even look fazed by her act that she was trying so hard to keep up with.

From where I was standing, Theo turned to me and gently tugged on my wrist for me to come over. I gulped nervously and clasped my hands together tightly as his hand left my skin. I was unsure of what that meant. Why did he do that?

"Yeah, hi. Can I get a one bbq pizza and a coke." He said and I looked up at him, my brows furrowing. He was getting the same thing as me? Wow, our brains really did think alike!

The girl leant back up straight from her elbowed position on the counter and looked at me, scowling. What was her deal?

She clicked her tongue, eyes really staring at me whilst she tapped Theo's order down onto the register. "Anything else for you?" She tilted her head, eyes flicking between me and Theo expectantly.

"A pepperoni pizza and a Fanta." He added. He pulled out his card ready to pay.

He was getting two pizza's for him?

Wait. No he wasn't.

"Why are you paying for mine too?" I asked him quietly. He looked down at me and I continued. "You don't have to buy mine you know." I told him but he just grinned in response, tapping his card down to pay leaving me no time to stop him. He always did things in such a smug way and I hated it.

Theo dragged me away over to seats by the window by my wrist. I stared down at his giant hand wrapped around my clothed wrist and he did too. He immediately removed his hand and sat down, staring blankly ahead.

I still couldn't believe he paid for my food. I know it was a nice gesture and all and I should be thankful, but I didn't want him to think I was incapable of doing it myself.

I sat down and crossed my arms. Staying like that for several minutes. I heard a deep chuckle from beside me and I didn't need to look to the side to already know who it was.

"Are you really annoyed that I paid for you?" He asked; chortling when he could see an annoyed look on my face.

"No..."It's nice of you to do that but you know I can pay right?" I looked over at him. Holy shitting fuck. I tried to stay stable but how could I when he looked like that. His legs were spread out before him, one hand on his leg and one on the table tapping over and over again. He seemed to do that quite a lot.

"I know you can." Was all he said before quickly looking out the window to check on his car that was just down the street but in ear-shot to hear if anything happened to it. "You have a job. I've seen you there." He commented, looking back to me and carrying on from what he had said previously.

I nodded my head. I nervously dropped my eyes down to my scruffy trainers that I had yet to clean. "Am I good at my job then?" I blushed. I saw his lips break into a small smile. I always liked to get feedback on my serving skills.

He smiled.

A proper smile was on his face.

The smile seemed to reach up to his eyes, like they were smiling too. Wow.

"You're very good at...serving? I think what the best part of all was when you sat me and Steph down on the table with the broken light." He said. Steph. Were they really close? But after that fight I heard with him and Stephanie, they didn't sound close.

"You noticed that?" I sat up and laughed awkwardly. Oh fuck.

"Of course I did. It was not hard to miss when the the light was flickering every second." He said whilst combing a hand through his hair and chuckling.

I bit down on my lip. "Y-Yeah. Oops?"

"But I think I know why you did that." He leant his head back against the window, tilting his head to look at me again.

"Why?" I asked genuinely. Did he actually know why I did it?

He nodded his head. "Because of probably what happened back when we first met. When you fell-"

"Over." I finished his sentence, grimacing as I remembered back on how embarrassing it was for me.

"I still feel bad for not at least helping you up or something. But I just carried on walking." He licked over his lips, sighing afterwards.

"It's okay. No need to get hung up on what's in the past." I waved my hand dismissively at him who was staring right at me, thinking. He finally broke away the eye contact and nodded his head slowly, his hand coming up to his face to rub it.

We sat in silence for a little while, listening to the chatter from people as they passed by, stuck in their own bubbles of their lives. I sat up and cleared my throat, breaking him out of his daze.

"So. Where are we going then?" I asked, my hands fiddling with the end of my white skirt to distract myself.

Theo glanced over. "Some place I always go. You'll just have to wait and see." He knocked on the table with his knuckles and stood up. He nodded over to the pretty girl, who seemed to have some sort of problem with me, and picked up the two pizza boxes of pizza and shoving it under his arm. He also picked up the two cans in his other hand. "Could you open the door?"

I scurried off the seat and pulled open the door for him to get passed. He gave me a nod and I saluted. What the fuck did I just do?

He must've found that some way, amusing because he smirked. But by the time I came and stand beside him, it' was gone, wiped from his face. Like it didn't even happen.

We walked back to the car, which had luckily not been taken, and I got myself into the passenger seat. I took the soda's from his hands and carefully put them in the drink compartment. I extended my hands out to hold the pizza boxes that smelt divine but they never came. I watched confusedly as he put them in the back seat.

"They're too hot. You'll burn yourself." He answered my silent question.

"Oh." Was all I could say. Oh?

I grabbed ahold of the strap and buckled myself in, winding down the window a little bit. With one look at my seatbelt, Theo started the engine up and reversed out back onto the road, his left hand gripping the wheel whilst his other hand started to tap against the console.

"Theo?"

He squinted from the sun and stole a glance down at me, urging for me to carry on. "Why do you do that?" I pointed down at his fingers.

He glanced down at his fingers and then at my hands. "Why do you do that?" He asked in mockery. I looked down at my tight fist that I must've scrunched up without even noticing. I peeled away my fingers from my palm, exposing the red dent marks in my skin.

I chortled quietly. "Touché."

For the whole drive my eyes were focused on his hands. They were pretty. Especially the rings on his fingers. I know I admired his rings a lot, and maybe too much, but it really completed his look. An all black ring that I hadn't noticed before, was wrapped around his first finger and I felt like each of his rings had some sort of meanings.

I pushed my hair away from my face and looked up at him. That necklace he wore last Friday was around his neck again. Did he take it off?

"What?" His question made me jump. I quickly re directed my eyes down at my nails, a little embarrassed he had caught me staring at him. He was like a magnet that I felt somewhat drawn to and couldn't help but stare at him.

"Nothing." I muttered and looked out the window. In the reflection I saw him quickly turned his head to take a look at me. But that only lasted a second before his eyes were back on the road.

We drifted in and out of cars and I stole a second look. He looked very concentrated.

"What is it?" He asked again and I widened my eyes, forcing myself to look away again. He scoffed. "Look at me." His words created a warm pool of feelings inside of my stomach. I could also feel my heart skip a beat, or multiple beats at that.

I turned my head and met his gaze. If it wasn't for the red light we would've crashed by now.

"You keep looking at me, what is it?" He arched a dark brow up in question and I nibbled on my lip.

Shit a brick.

At my silence he arched both brows up, his fingers tapping against the top of the wheel impatiently.

"What's that?" I asked him, pointing to the necklace that was hidden under his t-shirt. He stared at me for a few seconds. Then he looked back towards the road. His jaw clenched and I felt like I had hit a nerve.

"I'll tell you some other time." His words left no space for me to interject and ask any further questions — though I didn't want to anyway — so I just leant back in the comfortable soft leather seat and stared out at the road. I had never been this far out in LA. I didn't even recognise these roads. "We're here." He said minutes later and he grabbed the cans of soda and the pizza boxes from the back seat.

I stared out at the view in awe. The city had never looked so pretty. I stepped out of the car and closed the door. I ran up to the edge of the cliff.

Holy cow.

As I got closer, I heard heavy footsteps behind me and felt a hand pulling me away from the side. "Careful." His deep voice said from behind me but I was too drawn to the massive Hollywood sign and the bright city lights to even care about how high up we really were.

"This is the place you come to?" I pointed and tried to yet again brush away my hair behind my ears, but this time it just blew back out from the warm breeze. I could feel Theo's warm skin around my wrist from a second ago. It was like his hand was still wrapped around me.

But it wasn't..

"I discovered it when I was drunk." He again ushered for me to follow him, which I did...and with an open mouth as I gawked in amazement.

"I never knew you could come up here." I stood still and took some time in looking around, taking it all in. We were walking down a little grassy pathway down closer to the Hollywood sign. This was definitely picture worthy but I didn't have my phone on me so I just had to take mental pictures instead.

I pulled the sleeves of my cardigan over my hands and smiled warmly to myself as I watched cars drive and the birds fly.

Fucking hell were we high up. Why was this so darn high? How was I even up here in the first place?

"You coming or not?" Theo shouted and I looked over at him, realising how far away he was compared to where he just was. I took in a deep breath and ignored the scary feeling of how high up we were and I started to walk to catch up with him.

We made it down to a clear grassy patch right under the sign and Theo placed our food and our sodas down. I sat in front of him and pulled open one of the boxes' lids. Pepperoni.

"That's yours." I told him and slid him his pizza box.

I took the only other cardboard box, which was mine and opened it up, the smell of freshly cooked bbq pizza wafted into my nose. It was the best topping in the whole entire world and no one could say otherwise.

I peeled a slice from the rest and took a large, well-deserved bite out of it, the cheese being stringy as I pulled it away from me.

We ate in silence for a little while and I was happy with that. There was nothing worse than eating and talking all at the same time. I couldn't enjoy my food properly if I was talking.

The next time I looked down at my box, there was only one slice left. Theo's too.

How the fuck did that happen? Was I really a hungry pig?

"I have an offer to make." I started and Theo looked up, shoving in the last mouthful from his previous slice, his cheeks puffed out. I couldn't help but snort at his funny he looked.

"What's your offer? Better make it good." He rested his elbows on his knees.

I nodded my head firmly and pushed my box over to him. He watched me curiously. "You have my last slice and I'll have yours."
