《Just Friends》17. Water Below

Of course my peers would choose to throw the most random party that someone could throw out in the middle of the woods. And apparently, another classroom was on the same trip, just across the lake. So being the young, naive class we were, we met them in the middle, brought some drinks (that I didn't even know someone snuck in) and began playing some music.

I was sitting on the bench since Adrien was watching over me carefully. Apperently, I'm a light weight, so I wasn't allowed to have any drinks. Although I would admit to feeling a bit adventurous tonight to be able to forget about drama, being ladybug, and having to function properly, I knew that if I took a swig of any form of alcohol I would probably pass out right away. And even if it was tempting, I didn't want to give Adrien and Nino another reason to watch over me tonight.

Alya, of course being Alya, was drinking all she wanted with the watchful eye of Nino of course, and I began to get annoyed at the fact that the boys were watching us like unkept children.

Or maybe it was the fact that we walked all the way to the middle of the woods, to be limited by the amount of fun we could have. I looked up to Adrien, who was of course getting some female attention from the other class at the camp. I mean he was a famous model after all. And I was just the girl that sometimes baked to help out her parents.

I sighed, pulling my jacket further around me and deciding to take out my messy bun for once. After that was done, I roughly ran my fingers through my black hair, letting them run all the way to the ends.

I didn't notice that I was catching the attention of the opposite sex until I felt the other end of the wooden bench dip, making me look up at a tall guy with brunette curls and hazel eyes. I smiled hesitantly, wondering what he wanted.

After a bit of awkward silence he finally spoke up, "Sorry, I was just admiring your beauty for a second." He chuckled. His voice seemed fake, like he was trying to act like a certain flirt... maybe Chat noir? If he was trying then he wasn't really good at it.

I giggled anyway, feeling obligated to return the same energy. "Anyway, my names-." His flirty talk was stopped when I heard the familiar voice of Adrien. It suprised me, since I thought he was still hanging with all of his girl friends.

"Hey Princess, you want something to drink?" He asked. I turned around, looking at a muscular Adrien. He had never looked this appetizing since our rendezvous a couple weeks ago. Maybe he looked like this because it was dark outside and my eyes were playing tricks on me.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't realize you guys were dating." He suddenly said, getting up from the bench and giving Adrien a weird man hug.

I rolled my eyes, "We're not da-."

"Thanks dude, I knew you'd understand. I'm trying to keep it on the down low." Adrien joked, I felt myself become frustrated, mentally and sexually. Maybe I did need a drink to calm my nerves.

I shouldn't even be feeling like this, and I began to think I was feeling this way because I was around a bunch of other hormonal teenagers.

I got up from my seat, walking over to the table that was filled with cheap soda, beer, and some unfamiliar looking alcohol. My hand was tempted to actually get a real taste of the devilish liquid, since it would be the first time I willingly would take the drink. And it felt terrifying thinking about what would happen once my hand did hold onto the glass bottle.

I reached out, about to grab a drink before my hand's direction was gently altered, and instead made its way to Adrien's lips. I smiled, beginning to realize more and more how alike Adrien and Chat noir were. I mean they were the same person, but I couldn't wrap my head around the fact still. It was quite unbelievable.

"Were you about to take a drink M'Lady?" Adrien asked while keeping my hand in his.

"I'm not your Lady." I blushed, taking my hand away from his.

"But you could be." He whispered, but I decided to ignore it. Maybe I'm delusional.

"Well I was not going to take one." I said with a lot of energy, about to grab one when my hand was grabbed again. "I said just one." I pouted.

A voice suddenly spoke up, "I agree with Adrien, Mari, I don't want to see that get in your system." I turned around to see Luka, happily standing there with a Kagami at his side.

"Not you too Luka. I said it was just one, you know there's a first time for everything." I smiled, trying to get past the current nervousness.

"Yeah no, I don't care if it's just one, or a little sip. I'm not letting that poison enter you." Adrien spoke, causing me to groan.

"B-But Alya-."

"Alya knows when to stop. I'm serious Marinette." When Adrien called me by my actual name, and not by some silly weird made up pet name, I immediately understood not to say anything about the matter anymore. Even though I still wanted to taste some of the delicious beverages that were standing in front of me, I knew I couldn't do it in front of the boys.

"Fine, I'll guess I'll get a soda for now."

The party had been roaring for a good hour or so, and everyone was so pumped and rowdy. I knew it was my chance to get towards my first swing of the hidden beverages since Adrien was currently occupied by some fan girls, and Alya was having a make out session with her boyfriend, Nino.

So I took my chance, gathering the courage to sneakily make my way to the table, and snatching an unopened bottle. I'm nice I popped that sealed top off with the use of a pocket knife that I kept hidden in my hand bag, I finally was able to take a swing of the sour liquid.

It honestly tasted satisfyingly horrible, and left a bad sting at the back of my mouth. I put the bottle back down as I looked back at Adrien who was no longer where he was. I panicked, trying to turn around and get back to the table to place the alcoholic drink back.

Somehow, I was able to take another swing, savoring the weird awful taste before I plopped it back onto the table that was still full of other beverages. I let out an embarrassing burp, and then lifted my head up to see if anyone had heard.

When I saw Kagami standing there with an amused smirk on her face, I simply laughed it off. "You really should have listened to Luka and Adrien." She said, and unfamiliar tone in her voice.

"It's just one time, and what's better than to do it with a bunch of my friends around? And besides, they're not going to be able to tell. I don't really think they will." I concluded, trying to reassure myself.

Kagami chuckled, "Your funny Marinette. I mean you litterly have two boys pining after you and you don't even know it." I couldn't tell if what she was saying was a joke or not, but I chose to ignore it.

"Since I'm feeling a little rebellious tonight, you wanna go do something else that seems fun?" I asked again.

"What's the worst we're gonna do, take a crack at a cigarette. I mean you are a goody two shoes after all." I felt taken back by her comment. I didn't really think I was a goody two shoes, I just liked the idea of being nice, fair, and respectful.

I shook my head, deciding to throw away her comment before the most erotic idea popped into my head. "Cliff diving?" I giggled. Maybe it was the alcohol that was slowly already taking over my functioning body, but I seemed to not have a care in the world.

"Yeah like you would do that." She rolled her eyes.

"Okay how about this, skinny dip off a cliff." I said back to challenge her. She seemed taken back from the statement.

"Oh you wouldn't do that." The nervous ness in her voice made me smile.

"Come on," I said while taking her hand. "I'll do it right now."

It took us a while to find a suitable cliff in the woods around the lake. Or maybe it was a pond. Nothing was making any sense anymore.

I thought Kagami was duribulitily trying to avoid the lake, but once I decided to take charge and ignore her sudden questions like "are you sure." "Are you thinking clearly?" It became a heck of a lot easier to find the perfect spot.

"Marinette, I don't think you should do this." She said, getting out her phone.

"What are you doing?" I asked her, glancing towards the cellular device in her hand. "If you're calling Adrien I don't care, I'll find away to prove that I'm not a goody two shoes." My mind was feeling like squished garbage, and my words felt like random thoughts spurring from my head. I smiled, for an unknown reason.

I looked over the cliff, which was probably a good three or four stories from the water, and began to take off my clothes. Although it was cold, in my drunken and loose state, I couldn't feel anything. When I finally got my pair of jeans off, and was left in some Victoria secret panties and a sport bra, I looked down at the water again.

Since it was now so dark, you could see the reflection of the moon gleam from it, giving me an unknown motivation.

"Adrien's on his way! You know that right!" Kagami hurriedly yelled. I waved my hand at her.

"Is Adrien listening?!" I asked her.

She nodded, trying to pry the phone towards me. "Tell him to fuck off."

I did a proper salute before I turned, back facing the water, and propelled myself off the cliff. At this point of my state, I didn't even care about what was going to happen after I hit the water.

I took my time, feeling the cold air whoosh by me, and the air create the cool sound of waves crashing. I was prepared to hit the water hard and fast, but that all stopped when I felt a familiar leather texture pick me up bridal style, keeping me away from the water below.
