Elena's POV
"I'm sorry you had to sit through that," I say apologetically towards Liam.
"Your sorry? If anyone should be sorry it should be your dad and not you, I can't believe he slapped you. Has he ever done that before?" he asks. I shake my head no and grab my purse.
"So, I have a question?" he states.
"Shoot," I say as we walk out of the house.
"Are you Elena Wilson?" he asks. I looked at him shocked then remembered my dad announced that I should just permanently change my name to Helena Wilson to the whole world.
"Yes," I say calmly. Truth be told I'm a little scared. Even though we both said we wanted peace between our gangs, we never signed a paper. He can now uncover everything there is to know about me from both my names. No other gang or mafia leader knows I go by a Elena Wilson.
"Why do you go by Wilson?" he asks. We walk down the long stretch of a driveway.
"Well I like to have a name not connected to all of this gang shit so I can go to school and get a degree. I use Wilson because it's my birthmothers last name and I still love her dearly. I already had a birth certificate Elena Wilson so why not use it." I say.
"You do know I'm not going to go tell the whole mafia world that your second name is Elena Wilson, right?" he asks. I shake my head.
"I don't know, because I don't know you. I'm just gonna have to trust that in the end you don't go blabbing my personal information to the gang world." I say. He nods.
We arrive to his car and he smiles at me.
"See you tomorrow bella," He says walking towards me. He reaches out and I flinch back but then stop. He pulls me into a hug and kisses my head. It was weird because we never really had time to become close enough to do this but it was comforting and I wasn't about to push another person out of my life.
"Put some ice on you cheek," he mumbles into my hair. I nod. We pull away and I smile at him.
"See you tomorrow," I say turning around and walking away.
I walk down the whole driveway and down the next street. Luca's car pulls up by me and he rolls down his window.
"Need a lift?" he asks.
"No, I was planning on going for a walk," I say. He nods.
"Stay safe my bellezz feroce," he says before driving off. Weirdo.
I continue my walk towards the gang house, its only about 2 more blocks from my papa's house.
I feel bad for lying to him. Not that I did, I just didn't tell him the whole truth. I hope he doesn't go digging into my past, as in Elena Wilson's past because there is a lot of unsettling things. Things that were caused by Noah. Things that happened when no one was there to stop him in time.
I want to trust Luca but that simple decision is just no longer a option for me. I can't trust. I won't trust. I have to much to loose if I trust. To much that could end horrible.
The sound of gunshots and shouting pull me out of my head. The smell of burning wood meets my nose and I break into a sprint. I stand in front of my and let out a gasp. Dead bodies liter the ground, some my guards, some strangers. Half of my house is on fire and shouting is everywhere. The snow is covered in blood, the once white ground know stained red.

This wasn't suppose to happen. This is my house. This is literally my house. Elena Wilson's house. It's not connected to the gang. Everyone only came over for Wednesday dinner, this is all my fault. Someone must have followed them. I caused this. There all dead because of me. My family is dead because of me.
I walk up to the first body I see and grab the AR- 15 rifle, Thomas had in his hands. He was one of the guards, but had been working here for 4 years. He had 3 kids and a wife. One tear fell down my cheek as I kissed his forehead and whispered a 'sorry'.
I stood up and ran past all the dead bodies and threw the front door open. I shot anyone I didn't know who was in my way. I made my way up the stairs and around the corner. Right now I didn't even care who was attacking, I just had to make sure he was okay.
I walked down a staircase, then down another hallway, before proceeding down another staircase. I walked down the basement hallway towards the safe room. I shot the two men who were around the corner and the third who was banging on the door.
I run up to the door and place my palm on the access pad. I waited for 30 seconds well it scanned my hand 3 times. The door clicked open but I typed in the password in the 10 seconds I had before the door locks again and an alarm goes off along with the automatic sleep gas.
I pushed the door opened and Cameron stood there with a gun pointed at me. Once he saw it was me he lowered it and opened the door behind him with his hand. We went through the same process but as soon as he typed in the passcode I pushed him out of the way and ran into the room.
A small body was curled up in the corner and small sobs filled the room. I ran up to the 3 year old little kid and lifted his small frame into my arms.
"Hey, its okay bambino, mommas here, I'm right here," I whisper rubbing his back and bouncing him slightly.
"E we have to go," Cameron says. I nod and stand. With Miles in my arms we make are way out the way we came in.
*****
"What happened?" I ask once Miles fell asleep in my arms. We have been walking for 2 hours, but we have no were to go. The actual gang house had a major shoot out two weeks ago and is still in construction. (grenade launcher) All the half way houses are houses of fellow gang members who are presently dead. I didn't necessarily want to walk up to one of my friends families house and ask for refuge after there family just died.
The only survivors were Cameron, Miles, Andrew, Adeem, Hudson, and myself. And all 5 of them live in my house with me along with Loki. Loki is in Milan on a mission right now so Cameron and Hudson were babysitting.
"Well I was already there because I was babysitting along with Hudson, and well the Olly was cooking dinner, we got a call from Andrew saying they were being followed by someone. The plan was to lead them here and kill them. We had no idea they had backup." Cameron says.

"Were lucky we sent Miles down with Cameron after they called because the first room the went to was his. They knew he was in there, they were looking for your kid Elena," Hudson said. I nod. This was crazy. I would take them to my dads house but he won't let my son in there. We would have went to a hotel but I dropped my purse somewhere in the fire and all my cash burned.
"So how did back up get there so fast?" I ask.
"That's what we are trying to say Helena, backup was already there. They didn't need to follow us. They were ready for this attack. They knew you were out and they knew your son was in the house. Whoever did this knows who you are, who you really are, and where to hit you to take you down." Adeem says. I stop walking and look at them.
Andrew gives me the look and I shake my head.
"No, he's dead, there's no way Luca let him live, besides, he doesn't know that Miles exists." I say.
"Noah has many friends, his family is psychotic, I wouldn't put it past them to want some type of revenge over his death." Andrew says.
"I'm not thinking about this, right now. We need to find a place to sleep." I say.
"Where? All the credit cards and cash was burned in the fire and your dad isn't exactly welcoming to the rest of us," Cameron says. I pause, thinking. No one knows about Miles outside of my gang. Everyone in my gang is like my family so I trust them with that but not anyone outside of it. No one even knows my real identity. It's Wednesday night, I have school in the morning and no where to take my kid or to even call in.
"Helena Grace Carina Emilia Torres," someone says. I sink deeper into my thoughts.
"Yo," Hudson snaps his fingers in front of my face.
"Ya sorry, I know who we can call," I say. Cameron nods taking his phone out of his pocket.
"Who?" he asks.
"Remember that number I called you with when Noah took me?" I ask.
"No, but I still have it," He says.
"Great, pull it up," I say.
"That's Luca Blanks number, you sure?" he asks, his tone laced with both confusion and concern. I nod.
"Yes,"
"Here," he says, handing me his phone.
"Thanks," I say. I click call and listen to the rings. I hope to god he's up and answers his phone.
"Hello?" Luca's voice sounds through the other end of the phone. He sounds tired, like he just woke up.
"Hey, lover boy," I say, in a cherry tone.
"Princess?" he asks confused.
"No, Elena," I say.
"Princess, what's wrong?" he asks, now sounding awake.
"I need you to do me a huge favor Luca," I say, now serious. He hums in response.
"First come pick me and a couple people up, they'll be 6 of us including me. Second, we need a place to crash for the night," I say/ ask.
"Okay, send me an address, I'll be there as soon as I can." He says.
"Thank you," I say.
"Always," with that he hangs up the phone. I shift Miles over in my arms and turn around. I text Luca the street we are on. When I look up all the boys have goofy grins on there face. I roll my eyes.
"What?" I ask.
"Hey Lover Boy,"
"No, Elena,"
"Thank you," they mock in light girly voices. I raise a eyebrow and pierce my lip.
"What was that?" I question.
"Good question, when did you and Luca become friends?" Cameron questions.
"When my papa tried marrying me off to him," I say casually.
"WHAT THE HELL! When were you going to tell me, I mean us," Andrew asks.
"Shut up, your going to wake Miles," I say.
"And I'm sorry but I was a little busy walking home to a massive shootout," I say. They nod.
"So is that why your phone was off, good old talk with dad?" Hudson questions.
"Always." I say. A SUV pulls up and Luca rolls down the window.
"Hop in chica," he says.
Cameron gets in the passenger seat, well I sit in the back middle with Miles still on my lap. Adeem and Andrew were on both sides on me.
"So is that all that happened?" Adeem asks one we are settled.
"Well I broke his favorite whiskey glass," I say.
"No, the one that costs 5,000 dollars?" Cameron asks, I nod.
"Then he tried calling ME the disgrace of the family so I told him who it really was, then I told him that he was just a sperm donor and not my papa, he also tried kicking me out of my house." I say. I decided against telling them about him slapping me, I doubt they would take it easy, especially Cameron and Andrew.
"Is that all that happened?" Cameron asks. I make eye contact with Luca in the rear-view mirror. I don't say anything, I just play with Miles curly hair. I just can't lie to Cameron, he is like my big brother. Luca holds eye contact in the mirror as we pull into, what I'm assuming is, his driveway.
"Helena what happened?" Cameron asks confused.
"He just slapped me, but it doesn't matter because I put him in his place and moved out compl-"
"He slapped you?" Andrew asks, not believing it.
"He slapped you," Cameron states trying to understand.
"Yes, and it took everything it had in me not to jump up and kill the bastard for putting a hand on her," Luca says from the front seat.
"Now that we have come to the conclusion that my papa slapped me, I would like to put my kid to bed, please." I say. Luca nods.
"Right, about that. I thought you were all adults but it doesn't really matter. Cameron you will be sharing a room with Dash, Andrew with Kyle, Adeem with Keen, Hudson with Mathew, and you and Miles, Elena, will be with me." Luca says. We all nod.
This should be interesting.

8 81Getting Hard (Journey of a Tank)
Herald Stone always built tank characters in every MMORPG he played. To be immortal—that was his first Goal, a simple childhood dream. However, the turbulent realities of life put an end to his gaming days. Years passed, and Herald Stone, now having attained success and stability, was presented with the opportunity to redeem himself...to fulfill his first Goal. Trivial? Childish? Others might think so. But Herald Stone always fulfilled his Goals—every single one. No matter what. Immortality beckoned in Mother Core Online, and this time Herald Stone would answer. Choosing a long-forgotten race, hidden away in an unknown region, the journey of an immortal tank begins. This is the tale of Herald Stone...getting hard. Schedule: Mon-Wed-Fri ~1.8k-2.3k words per chapter. Also published on Scribblehub. My other ongoing story: REND | Royal Road Expect a focus on building a true tank in MMORPGs. Heavy game elements and numbers are present. But actual math will take a backseat to strategies involving skill builds and synergies that steadily become more complex while remaining understandable. The main character is atypical in LitRPGs or web novels as a whole. He might take some getting used to. Character arcs will develop over a long period. What you see now will be different as the main character changes. The start of Getting Hard is slow-paced (more so than others of the genre) and includes world-building and character development before focusing on the LitRPG.
