Marlene Mckinnon
~°.
"I can't believe it!" Andromeda exclaimed, massage her temple as she sat on the couch. "How can he just leave her like this!" She said, pacing around the room, back and forth.
The night was raining heavily, nothing much can hear but the sound of the raindrops dripping on the roof on a dark night.
Remus Lupin and Edward Tonks who was there trying to calm her down. "Ella still hasn't found out about her father."
Andromeda closed her eyes and took a deep breath, "She's still a girl, Remus. She might be counting down every single day or hour, waiting for her father to come back as she did to her mother! She still thinks Marlene is on a holiday or something!" Andromeda hissed.
Remus was too in pain after finding out his friend was sent to Azkaban. "Are you sure you can take her, Andromeda?" Remus asked.
"Don't be ridiculous, of course, I can. She's still my family by blood."
Ella was secretly listening to them on the staircase feeling clueless, wishing she could understand what was happening.
Suddenly, she jolted from a voice whispered to her, "Ellie, why aren't you in bed yet?" 8 years old Nymphadora Tonks sat next to her but the girl shrugged.
"C'mon, let's get you to bed." Tonks got and requested for her hand which she took it and walk to Tonks room. "Wanna see my powers tomorrow?" Tonks asked the girl softly and Ella just nodded her head in a sleepy way.
___
A few months ago
"Someone's sleepy after visiting the Potters." Marlene smiled at the young girl that she was carrying.
"She's always sleepy, Marlene." Sirius placed his coat on the couch as Marlene sent him a glare, "Oh, shush!" She walks upstairs carefully, trying to not wake her daughter up.

"I'm planning to visit my parents tomorrow." Marlene placed a glass of water on the dining table. "Want me to go with you?" Sirius suggested.
Marlene instead shook her head "No, no! You should stay here with Ella since you two have father and daughter bonding to do." She pointed her fingers at Sirius.
Estella seems to only cling to her mother more than her father. Sirius didn't really mind but sometimes he wishes he wasn't too busy for her own daughter. His cousin, Bellatrix Lestrange joined the death eater before Andromeda was disowned. Hearing that made him wished that she will be different than his horrible family.
"You know she only wants to be with you, she seems to be afraid of me for no reason." Sirius huffed a heavy sigh. Marlene pursed "Maybe if you did spend more time with her, she wouldn't think you're scary." Marlene replied.
"You're right, maybe I should." Sirius agreed. "But it's dangerous, Death eater could be following you."
"I know it's dangerous, but I really need to see them." Marlene bit her lips. "I'm sure I'll be fine, Sirius.."
The house then filled with silence, Marlene rolled her eyes at Sirius who was thinking deeply and knew what he was thinking.
"I don't think he is the traitor, Sirius. Remus would never betray us." She shrugged, drinking her water.
Sirius pursed his lips, "I still think it's him..." Again Marlene rolled her eyes, "Suit yourself, Sirius. I don't think it's him."
"He thinks I'm the traitor, Marlene."
Marlene frowned, "That's between you and your friend there, I'm not going to jump into your friend's problem." She waved her arm in a mocking way.

Before leaving the house, Marlene prepared breakfast. Getting her daughter ready. She looked at the time and realized she was late to meet her parents when she was about to comb her daughter's hair and called out for Sirius. "Sirius! Could you please get her hair ready! I need to leave now!"

Marlene turned back to her daughter and smiled at her daughter, kissing her cheeks before going to Sirius who had already been in her room. "I'll be back soon, it'll just be a quick visit. Bye, Ellie." She kissed Sirius's cheeks before waving at her daughter.
Awkward filled in the room after Marlene left. Both Sirius and Ella stared at each other as if they're doing a staring competition until he smiled softly at the girl who was biting her nails, nervously.
___
Hours have passed and Marlene still hasn't come home yet. Ella stood on the staircase, waiting for her mother but the only person who came was just Lily and James Potter, Lily's eyes were red and puffy, looks like she was crying and that made the girl frowned.
"Y-you heard, didn't you? About the McKinnon..." Lily choked while saying that. "It's not safe for us anymore, I don't understand, why her especially her when she has a daughter to-"
Suddenly, a creek sound was heard by Ella who was walking in the living room with a frown and her head was tilted. "Ella...." Sirius called out her name with his eyes widened "Why don't you go play with Harry?" James suggested, putting his son down and she just nodded her head before all three of them moved to the kitchen.
~
A few months have passed after Marlene's funeral which the girl doesn't even know what was happening, waited for her mother every single day.
Ella seems to be getting used to her father more, not terrified or shy. Still, she missed her mother and questions where was she.
Sirius was more stressed after finding out the Potters were in danger. He didn't want another person that he loves to die again.
It is now 31 October, the night was raining like it always has been like the day before. Ella was in her room hearing loud footsteps, she knew it belongs to Sirius so she walks down the stairs careful not to slip.
Watching his father in a hurry, taking out his wand and wore his coat. Ella called her father and frowned, questioning where is he going.
"Ella, I'm going somewhere, alright. There's an emergency. I'll be back soon. Just stay here." He kissed her forehead before leaving the house, not letting her finish her words,
"Bye....?" She whispered then sat on the couch, waiting for someone to come back. Until a few moments, someone unlocked the house door and she thought it was her father
But the person who showed up in Infront of the door was Remus Lupin. His eyes were red and his hair was messier than ever. He sighs thinking how reckless Sirius was to leave her all alone when death eaters are out there, killing people.
Remus told her to follow him and brought her to the Tonks household.
Even though he thought Sirius was the traitor in the order, spying for the dark lord, he still cares for Estella.
