《Draco's Hufflepuff》Part 4

——————
I sat at the Hufflepuff table thinking about everything going on around me, Harry thinking Malfoy was a death eater, the secret sender of the letters. I felt my eyes instantly fall upon the Slytherin table and to the seat where Malfoy always sat in, he wasn't here, that was weird.
Malfoy usually had late breakfast on the weekends, him not being there made me quite worried, I didn't know why since he and I had never been friends with his snarky remarks about Harry and I as well as Ron and Hermione. After school had started this year and Harry had suggested Malfoy was a death eater and after I started receiving those letters I had been feeling a pull towards Malfoy.
"Y/N, you coming down to the quidditch pitch to watch practice?" Hermione asked me and I nodded, "let me finish this up" I told her grabbing the toast and taking a bite out of it. Hermione sat down beside me and I smiled as we made some easy conversation while I finished the last couple of bites of my breakfast.
After I finished we went to the quidditch stands to watch the Gryffindor practice, as we watched them we noticed how good Ron was becoming, not getting afraid of the quaffle anymore.
——————
I found myself thinking about Malfoy more and more as the weeks and months passed, I had tried sending letters to the anonymous person who was more and more getting the face of Malfoy in my head. I didn't know why, I didn't want to believe Harry's assumptions, he's only 16 like us, he couldn't possibly do anything like that.
I looked out the window at the pouring rain that was coming down onto great hall's windows, "Harry" I said taking him from his game of wizard chess with Ron. Harry looked at me and I motioned out of the great hall, away from prying ears.

Harry quickly finished his game and stood up following me out of the great hall, "what's wrong?" He asked worried about me, he was always overprotective. "Harry you have to stop with the thoughts that Malfoy is a death eater, it's getting out of hand, Ron told me about how you stay up at night watching him on the marauders map. You have to stop before you'll go crazy, it's not healthy for you" I told him and he looked shocked.
"Y/N I don't think you understand, I know he is one, there's no doubt about it" Harry said stubbornly, I sighed, "Harry listen to me. Draco Malfoy is a 16 year old teen, he is not a death eater" I told him sternly, Harry stared at me, "stop trying to convince me he isn't, if I didn't know better I'd say you liked him or knew something I didn't" Harry said.
I froze at that, "Harry why would you even say that?" I shouted at him, at that we got a small crowd around us, "we'll why else would you be protecting him?" Harry then shouted. At that I walked away and away from the crowd and into the Hufflepuff common room, I was not going to have him find out about the letters and my conclusion that maybe Malfoy was the one sending them.
I was not about to let him see the way's I've started to think about him.
——————
Months passed by and Christmas came, everyone exchanged their Christmas presents and Y/N sent one to the anonymous person writing those letters. Katie Bell got cursed and now Harry was getting even more suspicious of Malfoy, going so far as accusing him of cursing Katie.
Y/N, Ron and Hermione were just about to go crazy of Harry constantly talking about Malfoy being a death eater.

All the while Y/N had been keeping a secret eye on Malfoy, her crush started to appear as she got worried about the Slytherin, she noticed how Malfoy was getting skinnier and looking even more tired than normally a teen would be around this time of the year.
While Y/N fell more and more for Malfoy Harry went to Slughorn's Christmas party, taking Luna as his date, Y/N of course heard about how Malfoy crashed the party. Soon after the party Christmas break came around and all four friends went to the burrow to spend time with everyone, Remus and Tonks came around as well as Kingsley and other members of the order of the Phoenix.
——————
Christmas break ended and everyone went back to school, Ron got love potion into his veins from Romilda Vane since he had gotten too curious about the chocolates she had sent him. Ron was currently in the hospital wing after Lavender had broken up with him, he had mumbled Hermione's name while asleep instead of hers so she got offended and left him. Harry, Hermione and Y/N were all glad to be rid of her, she had been taking Ron away from the three of them so they appreciated getting their friend back.
I just got back to the dorm room after visiting Ron and walking with him, Harry and Hermione back to the Gryffindor common room before going down to the Hufflepuff one. I heard a tapping at the window and saw one of the school owls, she sat down in front of me holding her leg out.
I looked at the small package that she had tied around her leg and smiled, I untied it and gave her a owl treat before she flew away. I gently opened the package that had my name on it and saw a tiny jewelry box, there was no name on it other than my own.
I gently opened the jewelry box and saw a beautiful pin in the Hufflepuff colors.
I gasped at the beauty of the pin and looked out the window knowing it was from the secret letter sender.

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14
