Letters
When I got into the great hall for dinner I constantly felt someone's eyes on me, I hadn't told anyone about the letters from last night and this morning but Harry was starting to realize I was acting strange. I tried to stop constantly looking for the sender of those letters but I couldn't, I had to know who it was that was sending them.
I looked over the Hufflepuff table but didn't see anyone that could potentially be the sender, next it was the Ravenclaw table, no one there seemed possible. After that I looked over Gryffindor, the only person there that could potentially be the sender was a 7th year student that I had never talked to, I had seen him walking around the hallways but nothing more.
Lastly it was the Slytherin table, everyone there might be the sender and I knew it could be any of the older Slytherin students.
I noticed Malfoy had a tiny blush on his cheeks and I smirked, 'who could Malfoy be crushing on, Harry would love to know about that' I thought to myself. Until I felt myself not wanting Harry to know about this, I felt as if it would only make more trouble between them.

I looked out the window of the corridor I finished walking through on my prefect duties. The other Hufflepuff prefect walking ahead of me "Y/N? You okay?" He asked me and I looked down sadly before looking up to him and giving him a small smile "I'm fine" I told him walking up to him and smiling pulling him with me to continue our duties.
We were walking down to the dungeons to our own common room when we saw the Slytherin prefects Malfoy seemed to not have had a lot of sleep last night. He looked like he was week while completely ignoring the female Slytherin prefect, he seemed to throw me a small glance before looking back down to the floor.

I looked out the window as the stars sparkled in the night sky, it was the night of the first Saturday of the school semaster.

I looked at the pet store down in hogsmeade "guys I need to go in there for a sec, you wanna join?" I asked and Hermione perked up "yes, I need some more cat treats for crookshanks" Hermione Said and I smiled nodding. "We'll meet you two at the three broomsticks?" Ron asked and we both nodded watching them leave for the pub. Hermione and I walked over to the store door and I opened the door up and held it for her as she entered with me on her heals.
I looked around the toads while Hermione went for the cat treats, the shopkeeper an old witch came over to me smiling "can I help you sweetheart?" She asked. "Oh yes, I'm looking for a young toad for a first year student up at Hogwarts, any recommendations?" I asked her and she nodded.
She showed me a cage with 10 toads in it and pointed at the cage, "these ones are very popular amongst the first year students" she said and I nodded. "I'll take the one with the brown and white dots" I told her and she nodded, "can I get her in a cage so I can have her with me to the three broomsticks?" I asked and the witch nodded.
"Of course dear" she said taking me to the counter with the toad in her hand and gently put it in the cage "why are you buying a toad?" Hermione asked me and I smiled. "Personal" I told her smirking and she laughed gently, "okay if you say so" she said and I smiled handing the witch the galleons for the toad.

Hermione went and paid for her own things before we left the store and made our way to the three broomsticks.
We entered the pub and looked around for the boys, thankfully we saw them quite quickly sitting in a booth with 4 glasses of butterbear on the table. We went over to them and sat down, me beside Harry and Hermione beside Ron and we instantly took our glasses up and drank a sip of our butterbear.
"What's in the travel cage?" Harry asked after I had sat down and relaxed, "a toad, it's personal so don't ask" I told him pointing an accusing finger at him. Harry raised his hands in surrender and we all laughed.
Laughing felt good, this kept my mind away from going crazy from thinking about the sender of the letters.

I entered the Hufflepuff common room and found the first year girl as I held the travel cage in my hand I smiled at the girl who excitedly jumped out of her seat and came over. "Is that, is that what I think it is? Did you actually get me one?" She asked me her face lighting up from happiness.
I nodded "yep I did here you go, now take good care of this sweetie, it's a girl and you can name her whatever you want to" I told her and she smiled. "Thank you, thank you, thank you" she said jumping about and hugging me from thankfulness, I smiled and nodded "I said I would and I did" I told her and she hugged me again.
She went back over to her friends and was talking happily among them while I left the common room to go back to my dorm.
When I got in there I saw Hedwig flying and tapping on the window, I smiled at her and opened it up for her to fly in, I noticed a letter on her leg and I smiled. I opened the letter and smiled as I recognized the handwriting.
Hi,
I noticed you've been trying to figure out who I am, it kills me that I can't tell you who I am, I've started to fall for your curious glances around the school. The way your red hair flows gently behind you when you run to catch up with those Gryffindor's, the way your smile brights up any room and I hate that I've started to feel this way 'cause I know you hate me and your twin hates me and your friends hate me. You would never even look at me like a friend, which somehow makes it even harder to complete my task. This will be my last letter to you and please stop looking for me, it kills me, every time you look in my direction I stop focusing on my task and I need to focus.
-love anonymous
I read over the letter again as tears escaped my eyes, 'why would he think I hate him, why, just why?.'

8 2823Cybernetic Dragon
Idea Seven, or Inter Dimensional Explorer Automaton Unit-7, has had a bit of an accident. Hijacking the egg of a dragon rather than its intended target of a bird egg, it isn't fully in control of its host brain. Rather the two, dragon and cybernetic AI interface, must work together to survive in a hostile world of magic, dungeons, beasts and adventurers. The AI must deal with being a machine from a world of science trying to carry out its mission of exploration, while the dragon, Rex, must deal with being a cyborg living with symbiotic nanotech that sets him apart from other dragons. What adventures await them? Author Note: I tagged this story GameLit because it contains concepts like levels, classes, and dungeon/beast cores. But, it isn't tagged LitRPG because no one has status screens, other than occasionally Idea Seven who likes to organize data into blue boxes. It isn't a natural function of the world to display level ups or skill ups with an announcer voice. I mention this to set expectations, because otherwise I feel like LitRPG fans might be disappointed by my lack of LitRPG elements while others might be turned off thinking I have a lot of LitRPG elements. I think that if you approach the story with an open mind you will appreciate the gradual way in which the main character learns and expands his understanding of how the world works, but the game mechanics aren't meant to take center stage to the actual story.
