News spread like wildfire. Harry Potter was taking The Hufflepuff Angel to the Yule Ball. Some people, mostly girls, were upset that Astrid had gotten into the TriWizard tournament in the first place but then snatching up the chosen one! But then again these are the same people who thought she slept with someone to even enter so it didn't bother her that much. Harry and her were just friends going together, besides Harry already liked Cho Chang but she was going with Cedric.
Astrid, Daisy, and Rhea all got their dates. Astrid going with Harry, Daisy with Fred, and Rhea even decided to find a cute French girl from Beauxbatons to go with. The white haired Hufflepuff had offered her help to Hermione and the other two girls that bunked with Rhea since she was already doing her friends hair and makeup for the ball. Rhea was wearing a sleek black suit
and Daisy was wearing a beautiful sliver dress that suited her very well.
Then it was finally time for the ball
{Time-skip}
It was around 6:00 when people started to arrive at the newly converted dance hall. Harry was wearing a white button up shirt with black pants, black vest on and his dress robes on top. He looked quite dashing. Ron, on the other hand...not so much. He had gotten a very old set of dress robes from his mother for him to wear which were a orange brown color with fringes and frills. It just had a lot going on. He had asked one of the Patil sisters, Padma, who was wearing a nice pink and orange shari.
Hermione and Astrid stood at the top of the stairs around the corner so no one could do them as the Gryffindor was starting to panic a little. "Do I look ok? What about my hair?" Hermione asked, almost frantically as Astrid stood in front of her, fixing her bangs so they were more out of the way as her friends panicked moving had messed them up.
"Ok, first off, you look amazing! Second, don't doubt my hair and makeup skills. It's not their fault." Her tone and casual joke helped in easing Hermione's nerves as she let out a small chuckle, smiling. "Now, shall we?" The Hufflepuff held out her arm to her friend.
"We shall."
{Draco's Pov}
He was furious. Not at Astrid but at himself. He had waited too long and someone else had taken her away from him, it was his fault. It just had to be Saint Potter! Since Astrid already had a date, he was forced to take Pansy Parkinson, since she had made it her mission to ask him every single day until he gave up and said yes.
As Draco drown in the thoughts of Astrid being with someone else and Potter, he heard someone from across the room next to the stairs say, "Wow, they look beautiful.." causing everyone in the entrance to look.

There, walking down the stairs, was Astrid Lux and Granger. He paid no attention to the mudbl- muggle born, only to the Hufflepuff. She looked absolutely beautiful. Her normally poofy white hair was pulled into a loose bun on the back of her head with her bangs out and longer pieces on the sides. Astrids dress was a long pink, layered lace dress with white embroidery along the waist. It was off the shoulder with puffy translucent sleeves that went to her wrists. It was beautiful but nothing in comparison to the girl wearing it.
Draco watched as Saint Potter walked up to her and talked to her, no doubt complementing her on her beauty. Astrid smiled and said something back before Professor McGonagall walked over to them and that the champions dance was about to start.
'Why am I such an idiot?'
{Astrids Pov}
Astrid and Hermione walked down the stairs as other students stared at them in awe, making both girls smile. They walked to were Harry and Ron were, the latter standing with his date, Padma. Harry was the first of the two boys to say something, "Wow, Astrid, you look amazing."
Her pink painted lips smiled as she said, "Well you look dashing yourself." Astrid turned to see Krum and Hermione walking in to the dance with the girl looking back, letting the Hufflepuff shoot her a thumbs up. She looked back as Professor McGonagall walked over to the two of them.
"Are you and Ms. Lux ready to dance?" She said looking at Astrids dress for a second a before saying, "Lovely dress, Ms. Lux." The Hufflepuff nodded her head in appreciation as Harry looked at their teacher, baffled. "What dance?"
"The dance! It's traditional for the three champions to have the first dance. In this case five." Astrid only smiled at the Professor and grabbed Harry's hand before pulling him into the dance. "Thank you Professor!" She called over her shoulder as they walked in. The dance hall was decorated like a winter wonderland. The room was lined with sparkly white and light blue with the stand in the back. It was gorgeous.
Students were lined up along the sides of the entrance and clapped as the champions and their dates walked in hand and hand. The conductor tapped his baton and the music started. With a little encouragement from Astrid, Harry put a hand on her waist and one in her raised hand. The twirled and swayed around the outer circle. They switched between hands before Harry put before hands on her waist and she was lifted into the air, taking her by surprise and giggle quietly.
Soon Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall joined in to dance, even Ginevra was able to drag Snape out. Once the Lux's eyes met, her mother winked at her making Astrid laugh. Other students started to join as well until everyone was on the dance floor. The music soon turned to the popular magic band, The Weird Sisters, making some of the girls scream in excitement. Harry and Astrid danced and jumped to the music until the Hufflepuff spotted Draco Malfoy storm out of the dance, which nobody else seemed to notice.

Astrid suddenly felt sad at the sight of Draco leaving, feeling all of the emotions she had over the last few weeks of her crush avoiding her. She walked over to the table Ron and his date were sitting at, Harry following her. She hung her head as she thought about what she could have done to upset him.
Harry sighed at her small sad form and sat next to her, "Look Astrid, you like Draco, right?" He said looking at her with sympathy.
"What?!" Ron said A little more high-pitched than he wanted but his fellow Gryffindor shushed him and waved him off before continuing. Astrid shyly nodded her head, not making eye contact. "Then tell him." Harry advised.
"But he doesn't-" She was cut off by Harry once more. "Look, I have never seen Draco look at anyone the way he looks at you. And besides he is different since he's been friends with you."
"It's true! He stopped calling Hermione a mudblood, he stopped pushing people in the halls-" Ron said as he joined into the conversation.
"Wait he did what?-"
"It doesn't matter. What does matters is that you go and find him and tell him way you feel before he does something stupid." Harry said as she finally looked up. She pulled him into a tight hug and whispered, "Thank you."
"You're welcome. Now go tell him!"
{Time skip}
Astrid walked out into the courtyard that was closest to the dance, covered in white snow but his foot prints gave him away. Draco sat on one of the benches with his back to her, head in his hands. She walked up to him, brushed off the snow next him with her hand before sitting down. There was silence until Draco spoke up first.
"Shouldn't you be at the ball, with Potter? He's your date, isn't he?" He asked, his laced with venom as he said the Gryffindors name.
"Well if you had talked to me at all in the last few weeks, you would know that Harry and me came as friends." She said a little defensively, not looking in is direction. The boy was surprised, looking at the side of her face with wide eyes before turning back forward.
There was more silence, not awkward silence, it was nice despite the boys previous actions. Astrid spoke up first this time, "Draco, why have you been avoiding me?" She looked at him. He stood up, pacing a little in front of him. He ran a hair through his neatly combed hair, messing it up. 'Just tell her! Even if she doesn't like you back, she won't stop being your friend...right?' Draco told himself as Astrid looked at him with a concerned look on her face. "Draco?" Her voice was small as he looked in her direction, not in her eyes.
"I am completely and utterly in love with you and it terrifies me."
There was silence before he continued, "I didn't want to fall in love, not at all. But at some at point you stumbled into my life, and bloody hell, I blew it. I love all of your craziness. The love that you have for everyone that comes into your life, person or not. The way you came into my life and somehow fixed it without even doing a thing. I understand if you only think of me as-"
"Draco." He looked up to see Astrid only standing a few meters from him, her looking up at him because of her height. They were so close. Nothing on her face showed discomfort or embarrassment for him. What surprised Draco was, she was smiling at him.
"Shut up." She breathed out softly before standing on her tiptoes, cupping his cheeks and closing the space between them. He froze. Astrid Lux, the girl he had met in first year. The girl he had been crushing on since third year. The girl who he loved, was kissing him.
Returning back to his senses, Draco moved his hands from his sides to her waist, pulling her up and closer. He deepen the kiss against her plush lips. Astrids arms wrapped around his neck, closing all space between their bodies and played with the ends of his hair. She could hear the pounding of her heart, feeling Dracos as well. He kissed her harder, as if he was making up for lost time.
Astrid didn't know how to describe the kiss. Sure she hadn't kiss anyone before but this felt different from what she had heard, in a good way. It was indescribable. It was the type of kiss that you would see on muggle tv, the prince kissing his princess awake from a dangerous curse.
They pulled apart, smiles spread across their faces as they pressed their foreheads together. Snow started to fall as they stood together, just holding each other as they had their eyes closed. Enjoying each other embrace in the cold.
"I love you, Astrid Lux."
"I love you too, Draco Malfoy."
Finally, after the this time.
He was her Slytherin.
And she was .

Tower of Somnus
When humanity first encountered alien life, we were judged and found wanting. The Galactic Consensus interviewed our leaders and subjected us to a battery of psychological tests to determine our progress as a society. The megacorporations that controlled Earth ignored the game until they learned that the powers earned from clearing dungeons were just as real when day broke.
