Hades came home with Cerberus from looking all around the mortal realm and Underworld all day. It was exhausting and it hurt, but what hurt more is that she was gone. He slammed the door shut, startling the hoard of dogs that came over to greet him.

He sighed, "Sorry guys, I'm just... I'm not-" his voice quivered and as he heard himself, he burst into tears. His knees gave out and he clutched his fists together and pounded them to the ground, tears flowing freely as he gave soft sniffs. I'm pathetic.

"P-Please... just- just come back home, Persephone..." he quietly croaked out.

Cerberus nudged Hades' shoulder and gave a soft whine as he settled down next to his side. Cerberus clearly missed Persephone too, but he knew how important she is to Hades, and her being gone really took a toll on him.

Hades slowly brought his head up. His eyes were swollen from tears and lack of sleep. He sniffed once more and turned to Cerberus, stroking behind his ear, "I miss her so much, boy."

He gave a soft whuff and laid his head down in Hades' laps. After a few moments, Hades stood. He walked over to the bar and sat down on a stool, pulling his phone out. He scrolled through a few photos he took with Persephone and the dogs when she came over for breakfast right before she disappeared and smiled. He wiped a tear and closed his eyes.

Gods... sweetness you've ruined me. I miss you desperately.

"I miss you too, Hades." Said a soft voice behind him.

Hades jerked up and looked around, "Persephone?!"

He couldn't see her anywhere. "PERSEPHONE?!" He yelled out. Hades stumbled around his house, frantically looking and calling for her, "Persephone, please!" He wailed.

Cerberus trotted behind him carefully, this happened multiple times before so he kept his distance and waited for Hades to calm down.

Hades leaned on a wall and huffed.

Stupid old man, she's not here.

Cerberus nudged Hades' arm. "Not... not now, Cerberus." He replied, walking away and into his bedroom.

Throwing the door open, he trudged over to his bed and gave a groan as he laid down.

Tomorrow... tomorrow I'll have Artemis and Hera look through Sicily again, I think I missed a few spots there. I'll have Hecate and Hermes look through the beach once more and I'll look through Tartarus again. Maybe Hera had-

Hades' eyes flew open. What was that?

At the window?

He quickly stood up and looked over to the window.

Gods no. That's... that's not her... it's just my imagination

Hades rubbed his eyes and looked back to the window. She was still there, her pink silhouette giving a soft glow. Her hair was messy and long, her clothes, a t-shirt and baggy pants, were tattered and dirty. Her eyes were wet and puffy. One of her hands were covering her smiling mouth as tears of relief flowed down her cheeks. She gave a strangled laugh as she saw Hades rub his eyes in astonishment.

"Hades, please let me in?" He heard her muffled voice.

He bounded out of bed and throw the glass window open, grabbing Persephone and pulling her into his arms.

"Persephone? Is it really you?" He croaked out as he desperately tried to pull her closer, wrapping one arm around her back and the other cupped the back of her head.

"Yes, it's me," she sniffed, grabbing his shirt and burying her face into the crook of his neck. "I'm here, I'm finally here, Hades."

"Sweet Gaia you're here... it's you." He squeezed her and cried into her soft pink hair, peppering kisses to her forehead. Persephone let out a choked cry as she felt his warm embrace and kisses. She pushed closer, trying to hide in his arms. "Shh, you're safe, sweetness. Everything's gonna be okay now, darling."

"I-I... I'm so sorry, Hades" she said, kissing his cheek. Hades felt a rush of heat swelling in his cheek. "It's okay, sweetheart. You're here now, it's all going to be okay. I promise."

She nodded and gave a small smile, finally feeling safe and at home.
