Scott, Selene, Liam, Liz, Mason, Isaac, and Theo are in the reception area of the clinic, where they are listening to a voicemail left on a small flip phone that they found on the flayed corpse's body at the Primal's lair the previous evening. The caller is a female whose voice is familiar but generic enough to where no one can identify her.
"Hey, it's me again. I, uh, don't know why you can't seem to call me back. Maybe it's because you think you're punishing me. But, this is too long. It-it's too much. It's not about us. Something's happening in Beacon Hills, to the people here. I just... I just, I need to know everyone there with you is okay. So, can you just please, please call me. Please? One call. That's all I'm asking for. And, if you can't call me back, then I'm going to get my answer anyway. That means I'm coming up there myself if I don't get a call from you. I'm coming up there. So, just try... try to remember... it's my pack, too."
When a beep is heard to indicate the end of the message, Scott walks over to where the phone was set on the desk and flips it closed before looking at the others. Liam and Mason are sitting on the nearby desk, while Theo leans against the door frame and looks out the foggy glass entrance, Selene and Isaac are leaning against the wall opposite Scott. After a moment, Theo turns to face the others.
"You pulled this off of one of the bodies in the woods?" He asks.
"Malia did," Liam corrects.
"Yeah, there're six dead bodies. One of them had no face," Scott explains. Theo's expression is one of intense concentration as he walks over to join them behind the reception desk.
"Okay, so the one with no face-- do you think that's the woman on the phone?"
"That is a stupid deduction," Selene points out.
"Then what?"
"Obviously the phone belongs to the person the woman was trying to reach. That's the faceless body."
"It's the same thing that happened to Aaron. It took over his body, basically stole his face and his DNA. So, that means whoever this woman was trying to reach, they could be the other half of the Anuk-ite," Mason realizes.
"Which means she's just half of the problem. The other half, we already know about," Theo reminds them. He gestures to Liam to emphasize his point. "Aaron."
"We don't know where he is, though," Liam points out.
"Okay, hold on. Aren't we supposed to keep both halves apart? We know about one half. Let's just go for that one! That's Aaron."
Mason sighs. "I'm not agreeing with Theo, but... I do think it would be easier to track down Aaron over a voice on the phone..."
Liam makes a face and waggles his finger at Mason. "That's agreeing with Theo."
"Oh no, how horrendous. How dare he agree with Theo," Liz comments, sarcasm dripping from her words.
Theo sighs and rolls his eyes in Liz's direction before speaking up in an offended tone of voice. "Is everyone completely shocked that I might be right?"
"We never said we think you're dumb. You're just annoying," Selene clarifies.
"Maybe we're all right. Maybe we should be looking for both-- Aaron and the woman on the phone." Scott stares at both Mason and Theo. "And, since you both agree..."

Mason immediately hates the sound of this suggestion. "Wait, you mean me--"
"-And him?" Theo finishes.
Scott nods in confirmation. "Yeah. You two find Aaron." He turns to Selene.
"Right, Isaac and I are heading to New Orleans to make sure Cheryl and Reed are okay. Liam and Scott figure out whose voice is on the phone. And Liz it might be best if you go with team Aaron."
"If we find the other half, maybe we don't have to fight at all. We stop the Anuk-ite-" Liam realizes.
Scott eagerly finishes Liam's sentence. "-We stop the war."

Malia and Lydia are trying to figure out how Halwyn managed to contact the banshee considering he is still lying in the morgue apparently dead. They stand over his body and speculate that he's not "fully dead" since he was able to lead her to the faceless body in the woods. As Lydia begins to work out a way to communicate with the hellhound, we see the bullet Tamora Monroe fired into his head is still lodged in his brain. The silver coating has flaked off and the surrounding tissue glows yellow as his body attempts to heal itself.

Mason, carrying the baseball bat Stiles gave him (which still has Halwyn's melted handprints at the top), climbs inside the sewer gate and makes his descent down into the underground tunnels as he bickers with Theo, who is waiting for him at the bottom. Liz climbs down after him.
"That's a pretty egotistical thing to say, don't you think? You'd never be able to find Aaron on your own. You're not smart enough." Mason remarks.
Theo's expression makes it clear he is not at all amused at Mason casting aspersions on his intelligence. Meanwhile, Liz has to bite her lips to not laugh.
"So, if you found him, what were you gonna do? Beat him up with your AP Calculus book?" Theo bites back.
Mason holds up his baseball bat. "I can be resourceful."
Theo rolls his eyes before lashing out and smacking the bat out of Mason's hands. The bat falls to the ground with a clanging sound as Mason looks at Theo with an expression that is both embarrassed and exasperated.
"Rude," Liz says, her voice is a bit breathless as she tries not to laugh at the situation. Mason walks past Theo so he can pick up his bat before the three make their way down the tunnel
"Okay, so you're the smart one. Why are we down here? Shouldn't we be looking around the school, or somewhere with better lighting?" Theo questions.
"Aaron hasn't been in class in days." Mason takes a deep breath.
"Why would he be. That would be too easy." Liz rolls her eyes.
"The last sighting of the Faceless was in the tunnels. Parrish burned the body, but, you know, none of us have ever been back down here to check." Mason explains.
"Why not?" Theo asks.
"We prefer places with better lighting," Liz jokes.
Mason stops in his tracks, indicating that the fear aura put out by the Anuk-ite has just now reached him as he anxiously grips the bat in his hands. "Because we're scared. We're all scared to come back down here. You feel it, right? It's like it doesn't want us here."
"That makes two of us," Theo comments. He rolls his eyes as he walks around Mason and starts to lead him down the tunnel, as though he's unimpressed by Mason's fear. However, he only makes it a few steps further before the fear aura starts to affect him as well.

"You're afraid. That's the exact reason why we should be looking down here. I feel it, too."
"Now that we've made that clear. Move your asses," Liz says and effortlessly walks past them.
Mason continues pushing on, and Theo sighs and composes himself before following after him. They walk in silence until they make it to a fork in the tunnels, where they stop and appraise their options.
"Okay-- nice and bright, or dark and spooky..." Mason mumbles. When he doesn't get an answer he turns to head to the right side of the fork, which is the brighter and more inviting of the two.
Liz's hand grabs his shoulder and turns him to the other fork. "You're the one that said to follow our fear."
She lets go of him and starts wandering through the left side of the fork, where it is dark and wet. Theo follows after her. He turns around when he sees a panicked Mason trying to psych himself into following him and raises his arms wide.
"She's right, it was your idea."
Mason bounces on the balls of his feet for a moment, clutching his bat tightly before forcing himself to follow Theo and Liz down the dark hall.

Lydia lies on the autopsy table in the morgue with her head almost touching Halwyn who is still in the drawer. Malia suggests she touch him and grabs her hand and places it on the Hellhound in several places. Malia says maybe she can insert her claws into the back of his neck and read his memories. Lydia nixes the idea because, since she doesn't actually know how to do that, Malia might damage Halwyn's brain more than the bullet. Malia wonders how he got in touch with the banshee last time. Lydia says she was unconscious at the time.

Liam decides to call the last number that dialed the phone they found. Scott stops him, hanging it up before it connects. Liam says they should get the woman to meet them somewhere. Scott wants to have a plan before they make contact. The phone rings. They don't answer it. As soon as it stops, Liam dials back and a male voice says "Beacon Hills High School, how can I direct your ..." They hang up quickly.
Liam has a thought. He plays the message again and realizes that the voice belongs to BHHS Biology teacher Mrs. Finch.
Mrs. Finch arrives at school. Scott and Liam are waiting for her in the parking lot. Scott says while it might have been her on the phone, it doesn't prove that she's the Anuk-Ite or a werewolf. He sends Liam into her class to try to get her to expose her "supernatural side." Liam is concerned about the "hunters and the Nazi student brigade," but Scott promises he'll be right there with him. He instructs his beta to find out and then get out.
In class, Gabe sits next to Liam and says "Welcome back." Mrs. Finch draws a diagram on the chalkboard showing two sets of eyes, blue and yellow. Scott is stationed in the hallway outside the classroom. Mrs. Finch is shocked to see Liam. He says he couldn't let his GPA fall just because he got beat up in class.
Gabe attempts to text someone to alert them that Liam is at school. Mrs. Finch snatches it away from him reminding him that there are no phones allowed in her classroom.
She continues with her lesson by talking about how they can determine the probability of an offspring having a particular trait based on the parents' DNA. Liam slips earplugs in and sets off one of the sonic devices used to drive werewolves. Scott winces in the hallway. A student named Rebecca flees the classroom holding her ears. Mrs. Finch frowns but seems otherwise unaffected. Liam turns off the device and tells Scott there was no reaction at all.
Scott sees a shadow approaching outside the window. He asks Liam if Gabe got a text off before his phone was taken. Liam volunteers to try the problem on the board to follow Gabe to the front of the room. Thinking the shadow outside is a hunter, Scott prepares to fight. It's just a maintenance worker. He tells Liam to hurry up.
Liam is doing the problem on the board wrong. He sprinkles purple Wolfsbane powder on the eraser as Mrs. Finch tells him he's wrong and should let someone else try. She approaches the board, picks up the eraser, and removes what Liam wrote. Purple dust flies around her causing her to sneeze, but otherwise, she seems unaffected. She rubs the dust between her fingers and dismisses the class for the day. She tells Liam to stay behind.

Lydia says she was unconscious at the time.
Malia sees a hammer and gets an idea. Lydia is not having it. Malia acts confused saying that Lydia wants her to knock her out. Lydia clarifies that she wants her to "render unconscious" and preferably without pain. She tells Malia to press against her chest hard enough to interrupt blood flow, drop her blood pressure, and render her unconscious. After a little back and forth Malia obliges.
Lydia passes out and immediately finds herself in Eichen House.

Mrs. Finch says she knows what Liam is trying to do. She says she knows he's upset about her not stopping the fight where Gabe and Nolan attacked him at school. Liam explains that he knows she's a werewolf and about her pack. She asks if he's on drugs because his father is a doctor and he probably has access to drugs like Oxycontin or oxycodone. He insists that she's a werewolf. She continues to deny it.
Scott steps in and plays the message. Finch freezes and then snatches the phone and demands to know where they found it.
~~~
She sees a warm light coming from one of the cells. When she looks inside fire explodes behind the stone version of Halwyn. He busts from the stone and growls at her. He bangs his head against the glass of the door. The door opens and Halwyn leaps through it, grabs Lydia, and they both fall through the wall.
Lydia wakes up on the floor of the morgue and says she knows how to save Halwyn.
~~~
Finch continues to deny that she knows anything about the Primal Pack or werewolves. She says she was trying to find her daughter and demands to know where the phone was found. They pry further, repeating back her own claim in the message that she was in a pack. She becomes more and more frantic.
Scott asks if she was able to reach any of them before they died. She apparently didn't know about the murders and is stunned. She says they can't be dead. They were just in the woods hiding out because they were scared. Scott says they found six bodies, three men, two boys, and the unidentified skinless lump. He says the skin was stripped down to the muscle, there was no DNA, but the pack tattoo was still there.
She says it doesn't make sense because that's not how biology works. Liam explains it's how the Anuk-Ite works, it finds a body and it takes its face. It takes the whole identity of the person. Finch is heartbroken.
~~~
Dressed as hospital workers with caps and masks, Lydia and Malia wheel Halwyn into the MRI area on a gurney. Lydia has pulled up instructions on how to work the machine on her phone.
They get it going and pictures of Halwyn's brain begin to resolve. Lydia says, according to the image "artifact-ing" the bullet is "ferromagnetic, probably steel" and will "react in the MRI." She plans to intensify the machine's magnetic field and it will pull the bullet right out. She is about to start the procedure but notices something else on the screen. There are flakes of silver around the bullet suggesting it was encased in the non-magnetic material.
While the MRI machine will pull the bullet free, the silver flakes will be unaffected. Since Hellhounds heat up when they heal, Lydia believes the silver will melt and poison him from within. He'll die if they remove the bullet.
~~~
Liam and Scott try to get Mrs. Finch to call her daughter. She wants them to stop talking about monsters. Scott says if she does it, she'll at least find out what happened to her family. Liam says he'll call for her. He takes the phone and finds the number. He recognizes the name. It's Quinn.
~~~
Malia says if they had more time they maybe could figure out another way to remove the bullet and still save Halwyn, but they don't because someone is going to come in and catch them. Halwyn is their last shot at figuring out how to beat the Anuk-Ite. Malia says he spent more than 100 years waiting just in case it got out of the Wild Hunt. She says the first thing he did once he revived was to start hunting it. She believes Halwyn would want them to defeat the thing even if it killed him.
Lydia acquiesces. She dials up the magnets.
Theo, Liz, and Mason are still down in the tunnels, looking for clues as to the Anuk-it's other half's identity. Their time together has made both of the guys irritable and tired as they continue to bicker with each other. Liz is walking in front of them with an indifferent expression.
"These tunnels go on forever, and we've been down here for hours," Theo complains.
"No real news from the last time you said it twenty minutes ago," Mason remarks.
"Ten," Liz corrects.
"What?"
"He said it ten minutes ago."
Theo scoffs. "Ten or twenty minutes ago, I wasn't doubting the plan back then,"
"You were doubting the plan the second Mason suggested it," Liz reminds him as she stops and sighs. She looks behind her, sighs, and continues walking.
"She's right and if you're so concerned, just go. I mean, no one's forcing you to stay here," Mason adds.
"Mason." It sounded more of a tired complaint from their mother than a warning not to start anything.
Theo shoots Mason a look. "Yeah, and leave you and our army in charge of my survival? Don't think so."
Mason rolls his eyes, clearly annoyed by Theo's attitude, though unsurprised by this remark. "Whatever it takes just to save your own ass and nobody else's.
"I'm here, aren't I? Maybe I wanna be in the pack." Liz's head perks up but Mason seems to have a different opinion. The statement offends Mason on a very deep level as he stops walking and stares Theo in the face, making it obvious that the Anuk-ite's fear-inducing powers are making Mason even angrier and offended than he would normally be.
"Yeah, right! You-you expect me to believe that? A pack is about trust. I mean, the first thing you'd do is figure out a way to kill all of us. And it doesn't matter who forgets-- I won't." Mason's fear, paranoia, and distrust continues to grow stronger, and Theo notices that Mason's hand is clutching the handle of Stiles' baseball bat so hard that the grip groans under the pressure and his wrist begins to tremble. "I saw Selene. I saw what you did. And as much as I'm terrified of what's down here, I'm way more terrified of turning my back on you!"
Theo is clearly hurt by Mason's words. Liz notices his hands shaking too. Her eyes become wide and she pushes both males out of the way. 'Aaron' appears out of nowhere and attacks them with his own aluminum baseball bat. Theo and Mason fall onto the floor of the tunnels and watch in horror as "Aaron", the vessel for half of the Anuk-ite, slams Liz against the wall while they struggle over control of the bat.
~~~
The school now appears deserted. Mrs. Finch hears someone coming down the hall and believes it's her daughter. She asks what Scott plans to do. He shushes her. She fears they'll try to hurt Quinn so she picks up the wolfsbane eraser and claps it upside each of their heads. They both go down in a coughing fit.
~~~
Halwyn's body begins to thrash about. He growls and the bullet pops free. He manages to stand and demands to know where the Anuk-Ite is. He then collapses into their waiting arms.
They ease him to the floor and Malia begins interrogating him about the creature, asking about weaknesses or anything else that might help them kill it. Lydia notices silver is leaking from Halwyn's nose.
BLUD
Samuel Grady is alone. Isolation seems necessary to finish his novel, and his cousin hooks him up with a lonely cliff-top cabin with no electricity. It's perfect, until his obsessions with his secretive landlord, his landlord's cycloptic manservant, and the blood which streams down the cabin's windows entirely unseat his cozy reality.
So... I died. Yeah, when you come to think of it... This is bad, isn't it? I remember everything... And I mean it! The pain was... Let's not talk about that. I've been falling in what seems to be an almost bottomless void, for I don't know how long. The only thing that makes me think this fall even has an end is a faint light very far from me. The light at the end of the tunnel, huh? Well, people tell you to get away from it if you want to live, but damn, I can't fly away! It's not like I was a bird or had any wings... But I know it is getting closer... And Hotter... So much that I think that if I had any blood it would start to boil! It doesn't hurt though. Nothing like what happened a while ago... Oh... About that... Let me tell you how this free fall started...
