《She-Wolf》Face-to-Faceless
Advertisement
Aaron enters the morgue, opens the drawer containing the faceless bloody lump of a body, opens his mouth, and spews spiders onto it. The insects quickly burrow into the skinless lump as Aaron collapses on the floor. After a moment, the faceless rises to a sitting position.

Quinn has a flat tire. She soon finds herself surrounded by large men. One of them removes an arrow from the tire and asks if she's ever seen anything like it before. They move to attack her. She bears her fangs and fights back, incapacitating all of the men.
A Beacon County Sheriff's vehicle pulls up. Quinn is relieved to see a deputy, but the officer pulls her service weapon and fires at the young woman.
~~~
Liz tosses and turns like she's having a nightmare. She gasps awake and shakes her head. She calmly walks out of bed and down the stairs, it's like she's in some kind of daze. She walks outside on her bare feet. She stares in front of her as she walks on the leaves covering the earth.
Suddenly an hand grabs her arm and turns her around. She pulls back harshly before she realises it's Selene.
"What are you doing? Are you okay?" The older girl asks concerned.
"What-?" Liz looks around her and only now seems to realise she's not in her bed anymore. She turns to Selene with a puzzled and slightly scared expression. "I have no idea"
~~~
Scott and Selene walk into Liam's bedroom to see him hiding under the covers. They share a look.
"Liam..." Scott begins.
"No, I'm-I'm sick. I'm sick," Liam immediately protests pulling the covers closer.
"You're not sick,"
"Yeah, I'm, like, deathly ill. It's serious. I think... I think it's the flu."
"It's not flu season."
"You can still get the flu even if it isn't flu season," Selene points out and Scott shoots her a pointed look. "But, Uhm, Liam, you're a Werewolf-- you can't get sick."
"But you know what you can get? Is in trouble for being late to school. So, come on. Let's go." Scott pulls the covers causing a struggle with Liam. The young werewolf ends up at the end off his bed with the covers mainly on the floor.
"I don't think I should go to school. Or outside. Or anywhere. Ever again," Liam enlightens. Selene gives him an understanding look.
"It doesn't matter what you think, okay? Because you gotta go. Now, all you do is pretend like nothing happened," Scott says and Selene looks over at him incredulously.
"Pretend? I'm just supposed to pretend?" Liam asks.
"Think of it like when Superman gets caught with his glasses off. You know, he doesn't give up. He puts them back on and says, 'I'm still Clark Kent.'"
"You want him to wear glasses?" Selene asks.
"No! You're not helping," Scott accuses and Selene raises her hands in surrender. "I want you to go to school, okay? And be Liam Dunbar. Just like how Superman has to be Clark Kent, like Spiderman, and Captain America..."
"Captain America is just Steve Rogers." Liam nods in agreement to Selene while Scott looks at them like they're speaking an ancient language.
"He doesn't have to pretend, everyone already loves him. Unlike us, who everyone hates. They hate us for trying to save their lives," Liam complains. Selene sighs and pulls the covers back before Liam can hide in them again.
"You're right. We are trying to save our lives. Which is why you're gonna get up and go to school and pretend like nothing happened. Because if you don't, more people could die." Selene looks at Scott with a disbelieving look.

"My god. Liam, there are gonna be rumors but if you don't go they'll only get worse so you just get through the day and we'll deal with the hunter." Liam looks at her and she gives him a reassuring smile. He nods in agreement.
~~~
Liam arrives at school. People stare. People whisper. Mason and Liz approach him with hopeful attitudes.
"Okay. Not bad so far. This might be easier than we thought," Mason tries.
"Maybe." As they walk towards the lockers Liam hears the other students talking.
"Don't," He hears Liz whisper and turns to her. "You don't want to hear that, so don't listen. They're just rumours anyway,"
"She's right, just block it out," Mason agrees.
"They know," Liam argues.
"Like I said, just rumors. They don't know anything," Liz tries to reassure him.
"They know everything," Corey announces as he approaches. Liz sends him a glare. "Two sophomores on the lacrosse game were there last night,"
"Yeah, but it was late. It was pitch-black out, and there was fog on the road-" Mason tries.
"It was a clear night with a full moon and a well-lit intersection,"
"Oh my God," Liz curses at Corey's truthfulness.
"I have to get out of here," Liam says panicked.
"No! If you leave, these rumors never stop. You've gotta just convince them that you're a regular kid,"
"I'm not a regular kid!" Liz looks over at Mason to back her up.
"Look, remember what Scott and Selene said? Be Clark Kent,"
"Clark Kent turns into a guy in a red and blue outfit and a cape. I turn into a monster with claws and fangs!"
"Then just get through the day without shifting," Liz sets a realistic goal.
"Look, Liam... People are saying that Lori died in a car accident. We know the truth. She didn't just die..."
The topic of conversation continues in the Argent Bunker down in the tunnels under Beacon Hills, where Scott, Malia, Selene, and Lydia are debating with Argent.
"They were murdered. Killed by the new Hunter in Beacon Hills. You know, when he took out the Hellhound, we thought it was just luck. That we were dealing with an amateur. But now we know that whomever this new Hunter is, he has a teacher," Scott explains.
"You shouldn't assume it's a he, it'll blind you to possibilities," Selene chastises him.
"Gerard. Which means this is my fault. I'm the one who let him go," Argent continues about the teacher.
"You couldn't have done anything," Lydia assures.
"He could've killed him," Malia says causing everyone to look at her. "Just saying..."
"We're not executioners."
"We'll have to be when it comes to war," Selene counters.
"That's why we're gonna make peace," Scott annouces.
"With Gerard?"
"Selene, you know what's coming. We all keep using the same word-"
"-War," Argent interjects. Selene scoffs and looks away, clearly not happy about making peace with the old man.
"So what stops a war from happening?" Malia asks.
"A peace summit." Argent answers.
"Right. We meet face-to-face with Gerard, find out what he wants, and then we stop all this before it gets any worse," Scott explains.
"Last time Gerard was at a peace meeting was with Deucalion. He blinded him and then killed everybody else, including his own men!" Lydia reminds them.
" I'll go. We know he's not going to kill me," Argent proposes.
Advertisement
"You sure about that?" Selene asks.
"Not really."
"All we need is to find out what he wants-- then we can bargain." Scott figures.
"Even if he does agree, his terms might be difficult to meet," Argent points out.
"Yeah, and it might be genocide," Selene points out.
"It's a negotiation. I don't expect to get anything without giving something up," Scott explains. Selene rolls her eyes.
"Okay. Anyone wanna point out the obvious?" She looks at their confused faces. "No? Then I'll do it. They're in a position of strength no one, and I mean no one, is going to relinquish a war when they have the upper hand."
"Unless they care about the casualties,"
Selene gives Scott a pointed look. "I think Gerard has made it abundantly clear, he does not." She sighs in exasperation when she sees Scott's detriment look. "Fine, try to make peace with the devil, I'm going to look for Brett." She turns to the others to remind them what Gerard is capable of. "Hopefully I don't find his body,"
The entire lacrosse team is waiting in the locker room when Liam arrives. They say they're voting him out as Team Captain because of "what" he is. Nolan steps to Liam whose eyes flash yellow dimly for a second.
Coach exits his office and demands to know what the gathering is all about. Liam steps up and explains that his grades are suffering and he needs to step aside as team captain. He explains that they've voted Nolan to replace him. Coach is thrilled by the news, praising Nolan's skills and leadership qualities despite the fact he has no idea who Nolan is.
~~~
Argent meets his father in a warehouse stacked to the ceiling with weapons. Argent lays out his plan for a meeting. Gerard says Scott and Selene should come themself. Gerard reminds his son that the last bullet the old man took came from Argent. He's not interested in peace. He says Scott and Selene should run.
~~~
Liz, Liam and Mason are standing at their lockers talking when Corey shows up.
"I overheard Nolan talking to Gabe."
"You're spying on them?" Mason asks.
"Since he stabbed me? Yeah!"
"Reasonable," Liz comments.
"Nolan's gonna try to get you to shift. He wants proof, and he wants everyone to see it," Corey tells Liam.
"So what's he gonna do?" Liam asks.
"I don't know. That's all I heard," Corey replies.Liz and Mason turn to see Liam intensely listening to something.
"What is it?" Liz asks.
"Nolan is coming,"
He ducks into the guidance office to hide. He tells Tamora Monroe that he's come to talk. She probes him for information about who is harassing him with no luck.
He notices a book on the supernatural (The Supernatural Afterlife by Brian Felix) on a nearby desk in her office. He then sees the claw marks on her neck. She claims she got them from a tree branch while running in the woods. Liam presses further wanting to know from whom she was running. Her answers, combined with the book, cause him to realize that Monroe is the hunter who pursued Brett into the woods. She says she can't help him unless he tells her who is harassing him, so Liam leaves.
~~~
Chris Argent tells Melissa McCall that Scott needs to leave Beacon Hills immediately. Argent says Gerard wants supernatural genocide. He says Gerard blames Scott for killing half his family and turning his daughter (Kate Argent) into a monster while also turning his only son against him.
Melissa balks at telling Scott to give up. She's never told him to run and hide and she's not going to start now. Chris reminds her of the last time Scott died and how Selene had to bring him back to life and questions if Scott might not come back from this fight.
Scott arrives at the McCall House. He says there may not need to be a fight since they now know, thanks to Liam, that Tamora Monroe is the new hunter.
~~~
Jordan Parrish becomes increasingly scared as he looks at crime scene photos of Halwyn on his desk. The images show the Hellhound lying dead in the woods with deep slashes across his torso and a single bullet hole in his forehead. A brief glimpse of the police report shows "blood loss, decreased brain ... Gun Shot wound to Head. Deep Lacerations ..."
Parrish's fear reaches its peak when he sees the bloody faceless lump inside the Sheriff's station. One moment it's there, the next it is gone. Then it's back in a different location. He is panting as he opens the door to see it standing on the other side. He draws his service weapon but the Sheriff snatches it from his hand.
~~~
Tamora Monroe reports to the principal's office expecting to find Natalie Martin. Instead, Lydia is waiting for her. Lydia closes the door and broaches the subject of coexistence between supernaturals and humans. Monroe says that's a challenge because people like Lydia aren't like regular humans. Lydia says highlighting differences is where coexistence breaks down. Lydia repeats the request for a peace summit but Monroe refuses and makes to leave. Lydia grabs her arm but quickly lets it go.
Monroe is fascinated. She questions if Lydia's powers work through touch. Lydia says no. Monroe wants to know how the banshee knows who will be the next to die. Lydia says no one has to die if Monroe will just meet with Scott. The counselor apparently agrees.
~~~
Malia believes the meeting, alone in the middle of the tunnels with a werewolf hunter, is a trap. Scott says he has no choice because people will continue to die if he doesn't stop them. He says if anything happened to him, the rest of his pack would be able to defeat the hunters without him. Malia, while still unable to put her feelings into words, makes it clear that she's not worried about that, she's worried about being without him. He says they need to get Monroe to trust them so he's going alone.
~~~
"So, our guidance counselor is a Werewolf Hunter? I'm never asking for guidance again," Mason comments as he, Liam and Liz walk into biology.
"Seriously, I mean our last guidance counselor was an emmisary for the alpha pack and now this," Liz complains.
"What?" Liam and Mason turn to her.
"You guys didn't know?"
"Did you say alpha pack?" Mason asks.
"...No?" Liam snorts at Liz's expression and takes his seat. As he does, the person next to him gets up and searches for another seat.
"Maybe she forgot something," Mason offers.
"Is there a problem, Liam?" Mrs Finch asks.
"Um, no. Not with me," Liam replies while looking around the room.
"Who will let Liam join their group?" Mason and Corey, who has also taken his seat, raise their hand as well as Liz, although her partner does not. "Someone other than you three. Hmm. You all have one minute to volunteer, or the whole class fails the day's lesson,"
"This is just making it worse," Liam whispers to Corey and Mason.
"Yeah, well, it's about to get worse-worse," Corey adds.
"Why do you only show up when there's bad news?"
"The entire lacrosse team is looking for you. They're blocking the exits."
"Why?" Masona asks.
"They're gonna make Liam shift in front of everyone."
"That definitely can't happen."
Liz suddenly gets up and sits down next to Liam to form a new group. Mrs Finch raises her eyebrow but relents when she sees Liz's former partner pair up with someone else.
"This is bad," Liz whispers.
"You have no idea," Mason whispers back before telling her of the situation.
~~~
"I'll be the first one to admit that some pretty strange things have been happening... But the body couldn't have moved," Melissa explains as she and Reed lead the Sheriff and Parrish towards the body.
"Why not?" Parrish asks. Reed turns to him with a frowning expression as if to ask what kind of stupid question he just asked.
"Because it's locked in a drawer... and has no skin... or DNA... And no face," he explains matter-of-factly.
"This thing, it scared the hell out of you two and Argent, right?" the Sheriff asks.
"And it did it without moving an inch," Melissa replies. They both grab their guns. Melissa opens the drawer; the body is gone.
"Wonderful," Reed mumbles.
~~~
In the tunnel, Scott arrives to find Monroe flanked by two armed hunters and a third hunter with a shock stick taser in the tunnel behind him.
~~~
With Corey camouflaging Liam with invisibility, Mason and Liz attempt to find an exit that is not blocked by angry looking lacrosse players. Even walking next to each other they have to make weird movements to make sure nobody bumps into Corey or Liam.
"This is crazy. We can take them," Liam argues with the plan. "
"All of them?" Liz counters through gritted teeth. Gabe comes walking towards Liz and Mason.
"All right. Okay, turn around, turn around, turn around," Mason orders and as they do, Mason and Liz come face-to-face with Nolan. "Oh, hey Nolan,"
Nolan ignores them and throws a handful of powder behind them. As the powder lands on the invisible boys, it reveals their shapes and they are exposed. Gabe grabs Liam and throws him to the floor.
~~~
Gerard joins the party in the tunnel as Scott tries to reason with Monroe. He says she shouldn't follow the old man because he'll lead her off a cliff. Gerard demurs and says he's acting only as an advisor and indicates that Monroe is in charge.
Monroe says she wants to see a werewolf beg for peace. Scott immediately agrees in hopes of avoiding any more killing and promoting peace. Monroe believes Scott only cares about the death in Beacon Hills now because it's the supernaturals who are suffering. Scott offers to take everyone and leave Beacon Hills. Monroe says they'll follow and kill them. Scott points out that his pack has been protecting humans. Gerard says he's lying and he just wants Monroe to be afraid.
Monroe relates the story of her first brush with the supernatural. She was one of the victims of La Bête du Gévaudan who ended up piled up in the school bus with several other victims as a trap the Beast set for Parrish's hellhound. Monroe was injured by not dead and hid under a corpse of a fellow teacher as the two supernatural creatures fought outside. What she doesn't tell them is that it was Selene who found her.
She wonders if Scott even thought to check if anyone on the bus was still alive. He says he didn't know. She says he didn't care. She believes they allowed people to die so they could keep their secret and carry on as if nothing ever happened.
She then threatens him saying he shouldn't have come alone. Malia shouts that he didn't come alone. She then takes out the hunter with the taser stick. Lydia is with her and they stand a few feet behind Scott.
~~~
Parrish tells the sheriff that he's checked around and no one else has reported the faceless lump running around. They speculate if it is the thing that came out of the Wild Hunt when the McCall Pack rescued Stiles back in the spring. Parrish says maybe it's just part of it, another thing that causes fear. They think perhaps its goal is for the humans to end up like the rats and wolves, so terrified that they tear each other apart.
~~~
Gabe throws Liam into a classroom. He knocks into a desk and stays down trying to not completely shift while his eyes glow golden.
"Get up," Nolan orders. "Get up!" As Liam tries to get up Gabe kicks him down again.
"What are you trying to hide, Liam?" Gabe asks and pulls Liam up. "Your eyes, huh?" He throws Liam against the chalkboard while other students pour into the classroom. Liz pushes her way through the masses but before she can do anything two lacrosseplayers grab her arms and pull her back. "Open your eyes."
"Leave him alone!" Liz yells as she struggles against the lacrosse players who hold her back (with great difficulty). Liam focuses on liz's heartbeat and opens his eyes to reveal the normal blue colour. Nolan pushes Gabe out of the way and punches Liam in the face.
~~~
In the tunnel, Scott is still trying to make peace as Monroe and the rest point guns at the pack. Malia growls and Gerard says Scott "should control his beta" lest she get them all killed. Lydia says they're not the enemy and tries to explain about the larger issue causing the unreasoning fear in Beacon Hills.
Monroe says she doubts there's anything more dangerous than the Wendigo, Oni, Werecoyote and the Darach human sacrifices that she's been made aware of.
