In a clearing between the preserve and the high school's lacrosse field, thunder rumbles overhead as a wave of fog travels across the grass. Suddenly, multiple lightning strikes hit the field just as dozens of Ghost Riders on horses appear out of nowhere, galloping quickly in a large swarm. Meanwhile, Scott, Brett and Liam are on the lacrosse field, practicing their shots, when Scott suddenly turns toward the source of the neighing and thundering hooves, though he cannot see anything. After a moment, Scott frowns in confusion.
"Did you feel that?" Scott asks.
"Feel what?" Brett replies confused. Scott hesitates for a moment before shaking his head.
"Thought I heard something..." Scott answers. He pauses a moment longer before shrugging it off.
"Forget it. All right, let's keep going" Liam rolls his eyes, clearly ready to go home for the night, especially when he hears the thunder overhead.
"Or we could call it" Liam proposes.
"We gotta work on your back shots" Scott points out. Both other boys frown at Scott's words.
"Why?" Liam asks.
"Liam, they suck" Liam looks at Scott with an offended expression.
"What are you talking about?"
"Your backshots-- which suck." Liam shoots Scott another look before sighing and scooping up a ball before lobbing backshot after backshot at Scott, who misses every one and lets it hit the net of the goal. Scott frowns when he realizes he was mistaken about Liam's poor performance and looks at him apologetically. "I must've been thinking of someone else"
"Yeah. Maybe someone else who should be captain?" Scott and Brett give Liam a reassuring expression.
"You'll make it" Brett tries to reassure him. Just then, someone shuts off the lights illuminating the field one by one, plunging the area into darkness and causing Liam to give Scott a smug look.
"Well, guess we'll have to go now" Liam points out. Scott and Brett share a smug expression of their own.
"No, we don't" Brett replies. Scott and Brett both glow their eyes, Brett their amber gold and Scott their blaze red. Liam reluctantly allows his eyes to flash amber gold so he can do the same as the three continue their practice.
Physics with Mason and Corey
Inside the physics classroom, Mason, Corey, Lori and a few other students are working on an experiment for extra credit. They mix iron filings into a putty mixture to create a magnetic putty or slime. Mason admits that he doesn't need the extra credit because he has a 4.9 GPA. He says it is one of his favourite labs but it's clear he's there to help with Corey whose GPA is a 2.7. Mason points out that Corey works two jobs and that dying didn't help with his grade point average. Mason worries that Corey is mad because he's trying to help. Corey says he's furious and then kisses him. Lori leans over to the person she's working with.
"They really are cute together, aren't they?" Lori asks and the girl next to her nods in agreement.
With the putty done, Mason places a magnet nearby and it flies across the counter and into the gelatinous mass. Then other metal objects, much further away, begin to slide toward the putty suggesting the magnetic field is much stronger than intended.
All of the students watch in a mix of intrigue and fear as all of the metal objects on the workbench slide into the putty. They are all so distracted by this unexpected reaction that they're all extremely startled when Coach Finstock bursts into the room and shouts at them with a glare.

"What the hell are you guys doing?" He yells.
"Physics" Corey quickly replies. "Extra credit?" He tries. Coach both laughs and scoffs at this response.
"Extra credit? At nine o'clock at night? Come on, guys. Get the hell out of here! Go have lives"
Later, on the stairwell, where Coach, who is squeezing Corey and Mason's shoulders with his hands, leads the seven students down the stairs and through the entrance hall to the front doors while he chastises them for how late they stayed.
"Your teenage years are not the time for academic achievement!" Coach states. Mason scoffs incredulously and looks at Coach as though he's lost his mind.
"Yes, they are!" He counters. Coach turns to face Mason as they walk and aggressively points at him with his index finger.
"That's a lie sold to you by the government!" Coach replies. The other three boys and the girl go a different way as Lori follows behind Coach, Mason and Corey. Coach squeezes Corey and Mason's shoulders with his hands once again as he steers them toward the school's front entrance and continues to lecture them. "Go find some girls, get into trouble. Live a little, damn!" Corey and Mason both turn to look at Coach with increasingly annoyed expressions.
"We're gay" Corey states. Coach lets go of them and gives them a double thumbs-up.
"Even better-- go gays! Now, get out of my face! I don't get paid to lock up after you losers" Coach replies.
"Yes, you do!" Mason answers with a scoff. Coach, losing patience with the young men, gently shoves them through the doors before turning and walking the opposite direction.
"Get out of here! Go wreak some havoc like the other kids"
Corey, Mason and Lori finally make it outside of the school, where they stop and give each other exasperated looks. Before they can decide what they want to do next, Mason pats his jeans and frowns when he realizes he forgot his cell.
"Uh... My phone. I think I left it upstairs" Mason says. Mason turns and quickly walks back into the school without another word, and Corey sighs as he waits for Mason to return.
"I'm gonna text Brett to say we're done," Lori says and Corey nods absentmindedly.
He walks down the sidewalk a few steps so he can watch Mason run up the stairs to the science lab, but he becomes unnerved when he sees the light go out in the entire school. When the wind starts blowing dead leaves around him, he starts to get even more concerned, leading him to pull out his own phone and text "Find it?" to Mason in an effort to help him locate his phone faster. After a moment, Corey, both unnerved and impatient, slowly walks back into the school, where the lights in the entrance hall have been shut off. He takes a few more steps down the adjacent hallway before calling out to his boyfriend.
"Mason?" Corey yells and Lori covers his mouth. She moves her finger in front of her lips in a sushing motion and Corey nods.
Suddenly, the double doors at the end of the hall burst open as a strong gust of wind and hundreds of dead leaves blow into the school, startling both of them so much that they both let a gasp slip in surprise. Corey then wastes no time taking Lori's hand, rushing over to the nearest wall and pressing himself against it as he camouflages both of them.
With his vision taking a green tint, Corey's eyesight becomes enhanced enough that he can see a Ghost Rider slowly walking down the hallway, his right hand lightly hovering over his gun holster in preparation for a battle. Corey and Lori, terrified, hold their breath in an attempt to not alert them to their presence, but the Ghost Rider still seems to be able to see them, though he doesn't seem to care much about them. The Ghost Rider walks down the adjacent hallway, where he meets with one of his fellow Riders, pausing for a long moment before they continue on.

Meanwhile, Mason has just made it back to the upstairs chemistry lab, where his phone buzzes just a few rows away so he can easily find it. When he picks the phone up, he finds the first text that Corey sent him, along with a second one that reads
"They're here. Don't move."
Mason, concerned and confused, pushes through the double doors, where he is hit by a strong gust of wind and leaves. Not wanting to be in such an exposed area, he then walk into the library, where he finds Jake Sullivan hanging from the balcony by his throat, though, from his perspective, it looks like an invisible force is choking him.
Mason is immediately stunned by this sight, but before he can react further, Corey grabs him by the arm and makes him invisible before pulling him down behind a nearby table.
The two and Lori then watch in surprise as Corey's enhanced vision allows them to see that Jake is actually being suspended and strangled by the whips of two Ghost Riders before he suddenly vanishes in a burst of greenish-blue smoke. The Ghost Riders then jump down from the balcony and land lightly on their feet before using telekinesis to open the double doors so they can leave through them, telekinetically slamming the doors behind them afterward.

Scott, Brett and Liam are still practicing their lacrosse shots on the field when Brett suddenly stops what he's doing, his face blank and his eyes watery as he focuses on something he's sensing from afar. Scott, seeing the look on Brett's face, immediately becomes concerned and stops what he is doing as well, following Brett's line of sight to look behind him. When he doesn't see anything, he turns back to Brett with a frown.
"What's wrong?" Liam asks. Brett loses focus and turns to the two other werewolves.
"Something's happening to Lori" Brett answers anxiously. He instantly drops his lacrosse stick and starts running to the school, with Scott and Liam chasing after him to figure out what is going on.
~~~
Scott and Liam have just run through the front doors to the library, and just as they stopped to see what was going on, Mason, Corey and Lori come rushing out, wielding a fire extinguisher and a chair as a weapon, respectively, with Lori having her claws out and nearly smash Scott, Brett and Liam in the face with it before realizing who they are. All six exhale deeply in relief, and they drop their weapons before starting to explain what happened.
"They were here-- the Ghost Riders." Lori starts.
"Here? Right now?" Scott asks confused.
"Shouldn't they have left when the storm did?" Brett adds, also confused.
"I guess not, because two of them were right up there." Mason replies as he points up to the balcony on the second floor of the library.
"What were they doing?" Scott asks.
"We didn't see them when they came in-- we only saw them when we turned invisible." Mason replies. Liam's concerned expression changes to that of anger as he turns his attention toward Corey and takes a step toward him.
"You brought them into this?" Liam asks aggressively. Mason immediately steps in front of Corey to shield him from Liam's anger.
"He was trying to protect me." Mason counters. Liam continues to glare at Corey, who looks nervous.
"Uh, they didn't seem to care about us. They-they walked right by us."Corey adds.
"Then what happened?" Scott asks. Mason, Lori and Corey frown in confusion before looking at each other, as though they're trying to jog each other's memories. After a long moment, they start to slowly describe what they saw, though it's clear they're unnerved by the fact that there seem to be holes in their memories from what happened.
"Uh, then they just jumped down and left." Mason replies. Scott worriedly looks up at the balcony, confused by everything that has just happened, while Liam looks at Corey sceptically.
"That's it?" Liam asks.
"No, but they won't remember" Brett answers for them and everyone turns to him. "They took someone and we don't even know who"
Sleeping Trouble
Malia and Nathan Piercz are having sex. They settle in and try to get comfortable as Nathan attempts to spoon Malia. She's obviously uncomfortable until she flips over and makes him the little spoon in the arrangement. Nathan is very uncomfortable with the position. He's even more uncomfortable after he notices a gym bag with manacles and chains near Malia's bed. He asks about them but Malia shushes him and says, "It's nothing."
Lydia is at home in her room apparently asleep when she hears ' voice, lights begin to flash and the sound of a speeding train rocks her out of bed. The effects last for several seconds. She's gasping as her mother opens the door and says she heard Lydia screaming. Lydia says she heard the sound of a train. Her mother says it wasn't a train and they haven't had an earthquake in a while. She believes it was a nightmare. Lydia says she wasn't asleep.
~~~
Scott steps on a tack in his room. He notices a picture is missing from his wall. He finds it on the floor. It's the image of him, Malia, and Lydia at school.
The next day at school, Lydia walks over to locker 1075 and waits.
Liam is late for lacrosse practice. The coach is looking for a new captain since Scott decided to focus on "his grades and graduation." Scott wants Liam to be captain but he appears to be the only one. As the players try out for captain, Liam gets flipped and flattened. Coach calls him "Dumbar" instead of Dunbar. Liam calls him on it and is assigned equipment duty.
Corey and Mason Investigate
Corey is drawn back to the library. Mason follows. Mason says he's read all about the Wild Hunt. He says they come in on the storm and take souls. Mason points out that they only saw them due to Corey's power and it may be a special ability they don't know about. Corey feels like they should be able to figure out who went missing.
Liam brings the equipment into the locker room. Scott says he wasn't really trying to be captain. He points out that started practice three weeks before Beacon Hills. Riverside High School started two weeks before. He says they're behind before they even start and the players BHHS has aren't that accomplished.
Scott says with him graduating Liam should step up and lead. Liam says Coach doesn't want him. He doesn't know if the team wants him. Scott says it's not up to them. It's up to Liam. He has to want it because they're going to keep coming after him and knocking him down. Scott says Liam has to get back up because leaders don't run.
Coach is listening and begins to applaud. He says McCall's intensity is exactly what the team needs. Coach then turns to Liam and says he will crush "that little adorable baby face."
Memories Intrude
Malia is highlighting her textbook. She comes to the word "style" and stops. She takes out a different colored highlighter and highlights the single word. She then continues to highlight the rest in yellow.
Lydia enters the class and sits. The desk next to hers is empty. She stares at it in confusion. Mrs Flemming (Rahnuma Panthaky) hands back tests. Malia scored a D-. Malia gets angry and grips the top of her desk and her claws extend. Lydia notices and tries to distract the teacher. Flemming tells Lydia that she won't "give extra credit for alternate equations based on your own theoretical findings." As the teacher moves on, Lydia whispers, "Claws, Malia!" Calmer now, Malia's claws retract.
~~~
Scott walks the hall. He reaches the area of locker 1075 and stops. He's drawn to it and reaches out to touch the metal door. He turns around and instinctively looks at a locker on the other side of the hallway.
~~~
In class, Lydia sees a dark-haired woman in a lab coat and stethoscope (Jennifer Say Gan) sitting in the previously empty desk. She questions what she's doing there. The doctor turns toward her and opens her mouth. The sound of a very loud train and flashing lights fill the room. Lydia covers her ears but the sound is soon gone. She's left gasping again. No one else in the room seems to notice anything unusual.
~~~
Mason and Corey visit the school office in an attempt to see if any students are missing. They're stopped by Mrs Martin. They explain that it's "werewolf stuff" but she says the school is a dedicated safe space. She says she had to convince 23 students that what they saw in the library last semester was a large bear and that Scott's fangs were the result of "Acute Teenage Hallucination Syndrome."
Mason explains that they believe someone is missing and in danger. Mrs Martin is unmoved but says no one has reported a student missing and all absentees are accounted for. She ushers them out of the office.
~~~
Lydia is in the hallway. She sees the doctor from before walking near the other end of the hall. She starts running and bursts through the doors. She is suddenly back on the night Stiles and Selene disappeared. She can't see them but hears their voices and seems to feel him. She is pulled forward just as Stiles did on that night. She sees the riders too and plays out their attempt to escape them again.
"Lydia!" Lydia is about to step in front of a car but Brett pulls her back. "Are you alright? What were you doing?" Brett asks.
"Trying to remember," she says.
Corey and Mason Investigate II
Corey and Mason follow Parrish through the Sheriff's Station. He's apparently told them repeatedly that there are no active missing person cases but still they persist. They then ask if his "Hellhound intuition" senses anything wrong in the supernatural world. He says he's a harbinger of death not of kidnapping and explains that he's working on a robbery/homicide case that doesn't seem to be connected to the supernatural. Mason questions the "straightforward" part of a man bludgeoned to death and stuffed in an air duct unit at the high school. Parrish says he already has Mason's statement on finding the body and sends them away.
~~~
Scott investigates locker 1075, trying to see into the vents with his phone's flashlight. He's about to break the combination lock on the door when Mr Douglas stops him. He questions Scott and tells him breaking into the locker is against the rules. Scott leaves to go to class.
~~~
In the locker room, Mason tells Liam his theory about the Ghost Riders hanging somebody they know in the library. He says Corey has a hunch. Liam scoffs and asks if that's "a chameleon thing." Mason says Corey just wants to help but Liam points out that Corey wasn't there when they were fighting the beast.
He frowns for a moment thinking back to the beast before he also questions why the chimera was loyal to Theo for so long. Mason points out that they all trusted Theo at one point but Liam counters that he'll trust Corey when Corey does something trustworthy. He then reveals that he can hear Corey's heartbeat in the room.
Corey becomes visible next to the far wall. Corey brings up the fact that Liam forgave Hayden. Liam says that's because she almost died as she fought alongside them against the Beast while Corey only hid. Corey says he doesn't have claws and fangs and had no other choice. Mason agrees saying all Corey can do is disappear. This seems to sting and Mason regrets saying it. Liam says Corey should just disappear and leaves the two of them there.
Mason scolds Corey for hiding in the wall. Corey says he's not going to be friends with Mason's friends. This is apparently a conversation they've had before. Mason says it won't work. He needs Corey and the pack to be friends.
