《She-Wolf》Memory Lost

A flat tire leaves Liam and Hayden stranded on a lonely road. As the breeze rustles the trees and falling leaves sweep across the ground, Liam looks up as if he senses something but shakes it off. Hayden makes fun of his used SUV, but when he says they don't have a jack to lift the vehicle to change the tire, she lifts it herself. Liam is also without a spare so they can't fix the tire.

They laugh about how funny/bad their dating life is, briefly mentioning "the double date," "New Year's" "Christmas" with Liam's parents, and "that time your sister almost ..." Liam suggests getting stranded in the middle of nowhere could be their "best date yet." They kiss. They notice he Northern Lights filling up the sky above them. A car is slowly driving toward them. Thinking the driver of the car might have a spare tire, the couple tries to flag them down. The car rolls slowly past them and comes to rest next to a fence.

They investigate and find the windshield reduced to a jagged hole. The passenger side door is missing. Inside they find a boy hiding in the backseat. He shouts, "Don't let them take me. Don't let them take me too."

Scott and Stiles: Crimefighters

The Sheriff inspects claw marks in the hood of a delivery van. A paramedic straps a cast onto Stiles' arm. Stiles explains that he and Scott were trying to persuade the driver of the van to pull over. Scott attempted this by going full red-eyed on the hood of the speeding vehicle. While they stopped the van, the driver got away. The boys thought the criminal mastermind stole something valuable, but the van carries only helium tanks.

As Scott drives Stiles' Jeep later, he muses that not finding a huge criminal problem might be a good thing. He thinks it means Beacon Hills can get along without them which clears the way for them to move away to attend college. Stiles disagrees saying the town would burn to the ground without them. Scott repeats that the town doesn't need them but at that moment Stiles' phone rings. It's his father, "They need us!" he shouts.

The Boy from the Car

Sheriff Stilinski has the boy from the car, Alex, in the office at the Sheriff's Station. He explains that, while the boy can't remember what happened to his parents, they have "an unusual method" that will hurt but might help him remember. Scott and Stiles arrive, and Scott plunges his claws into the back of Alex's neck.

Scott sees Alex and his parents riding in their car. Alex's mom is worried that the R-rated movie they just saw was too scary for her son. He says he wasn't scared. Alex's father says he was terrified. Suddenly there's a man on horseback blocking the road in front of them. He dismounts, pulls out his pistol and walks toward the vehicle. The rider pulls the trigger and a barely visible wave of energy shoots from the gun and blows out the windshield.

The rider jumps on the hood and pulls Alex's father through the windshield. Suddenly the rider is standing next to the passenger side of the car, rips off the door and grabs Alex's mother. She grabs the gear shift as she is ripped from the car, shifting the vehicle into gear before the rider pulls her away.

Scott breaks the connection. He explains what he saw, a man on a horse with a gun. The sheriff believes that it is a non-supernatural crime, but Scott says he got a feeling. Alex speaks up and says "They're coming back. They're coming for me."

The Pack Investigates

Lydia examines the broken windshield. Alex's car is now in the Sheriff's Station impound lot. She gingerly touches the glass then moves around and sits in the driver's seat. She looks up toward the rearview mirror and sighs. Thinking she's sensed something, Stiles eagerly jumps up in the backseat. Lydia examines herself for a second and says her eyeshadow is the perfect shade for her. Stiles asks her to stay on topic. She says she's not sensing anything with her Banshee abilities.

A coyote leaps over a stack of tires and pads into the lot. It begins to transform, and soon a naked Malia stands on the concrete. Her eyes glow blue. Lydia hands her some clothes saying she doesn't believe Alex's parents are dead. Malia disagrees and says they were likely torn apart. She doesn't understand why the lack of blood. Lydia says Alex's parents can't be dead because she'd be able to sense if they were. As she gets dressed, Malia says, if they were alive, she would smell it. Scott agrees, there's no lingering scent.

Scott says he doesn't know what happened. Stiles is surprised. He says he timed Scott; he was in Alex's head for four minutes. Scott waves off the discrepancy saying werewolf connections aren't an exact science and that Alex is a kid and maybe was too freaked out to remember.

Malia doesn't understand why they care. Stiles explains that if it's just a robbery, they can't help them and if it's something supernatural, the Sheriff can't help them. Lydia points out that Stiles seems to want it to be supernatural. Stiles says it's been three months since anything supernatural has occurred in Beacon Hills. Lydia says despite the mundanity of their lives of late, Stiles still drags her out of bed once a week like "some sort of supernatural metal detector." Stiles says it's way more often than that. He believes recent events can't possibly be a series of impossible coincidences. Lydia says it wouldn't be so bad if it were a coincidence.

The women leave. Stiles returns to examine the car. He notices something odd about the way the windshield is broken but can't figure out why it's unusual. Scott doesn't see it. He says it's like all the other bullet-damaged windshields around the impound lot but, as they look at those other cars, they notice each has a spider web pattern of cracks around the impact point. Alex's car does not. The windshield is a jagged, gaping hole.

Yearbook Photos

It is yearbook picture day at school, and Sydney is in charge of taking the photos. Malia is sitting on a stool in front of the photo background while a line of students wait their turn, and just as Sydney is about to take Malia's picture, Stiles rushes up to her.

"Malia, so-" The flash goes off, and when Malia realizes that he messed up her picture, she gives him a look that causes him to back away apologetically. "My bad! Sorry, go ahead. Look pretty!" Malia sighs before smiling and preparing to get her picture taken a second time, only for Stiles to once again interrupt and try to update her, inadvertently getting in the frame just as Sydney clicks the button. "Once-- oh!" Malia groans in annoyance and glares at Stiles.

"Ugh, that was a good one!" Malia states annoyed. Malia tries her best to get the picture right on the third and fourth tries, but Stiles once again steps in both times just like before. The students in line begin to get impatient and start to grumble loudly about how long it is taking as Malia snaps at him. "Stiles!" Sydney gives Stiles an impatient look as well.

"You're still in the photo" She says also annoyed. The chattering from the people still waiting in line gets louder as Stiles looks at them with a guilty expression.

"Sorry" Stiles says sheepishly. Finally, Malia loses her patience and groans once again as she gets up and drags Stiles to the picnic table outside where Scott and Lydia are waiting for them.

"You ruined it!" Malia complains. Stiles baulks at this accusation.

"Why would I want to ruin your yearbook photo?" Malia shoots him a stern look.

"Maybe because you haven't signed up for your own photo yet?" Stiles smiles smugly as he digs into his pants pockets.

"Yes, I did!" Stiles pulls out a folded up sheet of paper and unfolds it before showing it to Malia, though he doesn't look at it for himself. When Malia sees that nothing is filled out, she looks at him in annoyance and confusion.

"It's blank!" Stiles frowns and looks at the paper, and it's clear by his surprise that he thought he filled it out. After a moment, Scott, who is so busy with his own schoolwork that he doesn't immediately look up at his friends, pipes up with his own observation.

"Or maybe you're sublimating the stress of graduating by avoiding key milestones?" Scott states. Lydia and Malia share a confused look before turning to stare blankly at Scott, and when Scott notices the silence, he looks up at them and gestures toward them with the pen in his hand. "Psych paper" Malia and Lydia nod in understanding.

"Oh..." Stiles, trying to redirect Scott, Lydia, and Malia to the task at hand, gesticulates wildly to get their attention.

"Hey, the deputies searched the car. No slugs, no exit hole. And, the address Alex gave my dad? It's an abandoned house" Stiles explains. The three look at Stiles as though they don't understand where he's going with this, and when Stiles sees their questioning expressions, he starts to lose his patience as well.

"Come on! Missing parents? Suspicious guy on horseback? Magic bullet? Who's coming with???"

"Who's coming with where?" Selene ask as she and Brett sit down at the table.

"I see someone officially transferred. Welcome" Scott says and Brett chuckles.

"So... where are you guys going?" Selene asks

"I have to retake my photos" Malia then says to Stiles.

"Yeah... not interested..." Lydia adds. Scott is the only one who looks at all guilty about being unable to accompany Stiles."I cannot miss any more classes" Scott explains. Stiles looks very disappointed in Scott and continues to protest as Scott tries to explain himself. "Scott-"

"I missed thirty-eight last semester"

"Scott-"

" And Lydia's mom is the only reason I'm still in school" Scott's expression becomes kinder as he tries to compromise with his best friend. "I can go after school"

"Wait, is this about the car?" Selene asks.

"Yeah" Scott answers.

"Well I think Scott's right. Lydia's mom is not even going to let us leave" Selene then answers. Stiles, offended by his friends declining his request to skip school and investigate the disappearance of Alex Turner's parents, immediately backtracks.

"You know what? Forget it. I'll take Liam" Stiles then says. Stiles turns to the left to find Liam so he can invite him to investigate, only to sigh when he finds Liam passionately making out with Hayden on a nearby park bench. After a moment, Scott, Lydia, Selene, Brett and Malia look over and see them kissing as well, though the only one who looks surprised and annoyed by this is Stiles. "Yeah, I'm not taking Liam"

Scott hums under his breath and shakes his head. Just then, Sydney approaches them with her camera in hand and smiles at them.

"Can I get a candid?" Sydney asks.

"Uh, no-" Stiles starts. Before he can fully decline, Scott and Lydia pull Stiles down so he's sitting between them on the picnic table bench, and Malia, who has been sitting on the table, scoots over so they're all in the frame, Brett doing the same but at the other end of the table. Selene then also moves to the table in the middle. Stiles pulls the shard of glass he found in the windshield the night before out of his pocket and hands it to Scott."Okay, fine-- if you can explain to me why this is blue, I'll let it go" Stiles then says. Scott looks stunned by the revelation that the glass has turned a translucent greenish-blue colour, but before he can ponder how this happened, Sydney snaps him out of his reverie.

"Everyone smile!" She says. Scott tucks the shard into his pocket and looks up at the camera as he, Lydia, Malia, Selene, Brett and the reluctant Stiles smile and allow Sydney to take a photo of them.

Hot for Teacher

Physics Teacher, Garrett Douglas explains the "Shrödingers Cat thought experiment" by way of an illustration of a cat, elaborately drawn on the blackboard with colored chalk. The young women in the class (and Corey) pay rapt attention to the attractive teacher's every move. He calls on Hayden to explain what the thought experiment cat teaches about physics. She explains that it illustrates the concept of quantum superposition. Light is both a particle and a wave until it is observed. Just as the cat is both alive and dead until someone opens the box. Douglas says the question for today's lab is, does observing something changes its behavior or alter its outcome? The class breaks into groups of four.

Mason notices that his phone won't geo-locate, meaning the compass isn't pointing toward true north anymore. Mason says Mr. Douglas has a physical compass they could check. Corey goes invisible and steals the compass. It too is pointing away from true north. They decide to follow the compass to see where it leads.

The Glass

Scott seeks out Advance Placement Biology Teacher, Mrs Finch, to ask about the tinted windshield glass shard. She says the chemicals in a muzzle flash from a gun could include copper, barium, cesium, chemicals that can burn blue and green. She seems skeptical that a gun could have changed the shard. The conversation leads Scott to decide to cut class to investigate with Stiles.

Just as the boys exit the school, they're caught and brought back by Mrs. Martin who berates Scott for trying to cut class again. She says she had to beg the superintendent to let him stay in school after his absences last semester. The boys plead with her, but she says they can protect Beacon Hills after 3:30 when school lets out.

The Storm

Just before 3:00, Scott Styles and Lydia are watching a video on the Normandic Landing in World History class. The video includes the sound of crashing waves but for Lydia the sound shifts subtly to that of a rain storm and a woman singing The Door's song "Riders on the Strom".

~~~
The Sheriff returns to his office to find Alex missing. He orders his deputies, including to search the station for the boy. They find him in the holding cell. The boy begs them to lock him in. The sheriff agrees.
~~~

Back at school, the bell rings at 3:30 and Stiles and Scott bolt from their seats. The rest of the class empties but Lydia, still hearing something the others don't, remains. She notices the classroom is emptying and rises to leave. As she passes the TV, which moments before was showing the Allied forces landing in France, it shows only static. She hears the song again, clearer now. Suddenly, a lightning bolt strikes her, and she is flung backward to the floor. She is immediately standing at her desk, unharmed but she can still hear the thunder.

The Haunted House

Scott, Selene, Brett and Stiles have just arrived at the Turner family's house in Stiles' Jeep and Brett's car. The four depart their vehicles and walk up to the front steps to the house, which looks completely abandoned and disheveled. They frown at the sight of it as they consider what they're dealing with.

"That's not creepy at all." Stiles states sarcastically.

They walk inside the house, and Scott turns on a flashlight in his hand as they look around. Just like with the exterior, the first floor of the inside of the house is completely empty and looks like it has been vacant for decades; everything is covered with dust and cobwebs, and there are no personal belongings to be seen. The floorboards creak under their feet as they walk into the dining room, where two plates, two water glasses, and two wine glasses are sitting on the table, which like the foyer and living room, is covered in dust and bits of dried up leaves. After visually examining the room with the flashlight, Scott looks at Stiles with a concerned and confused expression.

"You wanna split up?" Stiles looks at Scott as though he's lost his mind.

"Uh, absolutely not!" Stiles replies.

After a strong gust of wind from outside causes the upstairs floorboards to creak as well, Scott jerks his head toward the staircase before he leads Stiles, Selene and rett toward it so they can investigate the upstairs as well. Like the rest of the house, the staircase is rickety and covered in cobwebs, causing the boys to walk up the stairs slowly to ensure that they don't break anything. Upstairs, the four peek into every room they pass; while the rooms are completely free of furniture, decorations, or other personal belongings, they are at least clean and free of dust and cobwebs, unlike the downstairs. Confused, they start to discuss what they have found so far.

"Maybe Alex got the address wrong?" Scott proposes.

"Or he lied" Stiles states.

"Why would he lie?" Selene questions.

The four make their way down the hallway, passing several more empty rooms, until they reach the end, where a chipped white wooden door is shut. They share a hesitant look before Stiles, looking uneasy, steps forward and reaches out for the crystal doorknob, twisting it to open the door. When they walk inside, they are shocked to find that the room is clean, bright, and full of furnishings typical of a pre-teenage boy. It is clear by the photos on the wall that this is Alex's bedroom, and all four of them are stunned by the confirmation that something supernatural is truly going on.

"He didn't lie" Brett then states.

"Why didn't the cops say anything about this?" Scott asks. Stiles shakes his head before answering Scott's question.

"They don't know its here. They can't come here without a warrant, and there's no owner of record to serve a warrant to... So, unless there's some kind of threat or imminent danger, they wouldn't come in" Stiles explains. Before they can ponder this further, Scott freezes in place when he suddenly hear footsteps and creaking floorboards downstairs. Stiles becomes alarmed when he sees alll werewolves frown in confusion and concern."What?" Stiles asks.

"I think I heard something" Scott explains.

"I heard it too" Brett confirms.

Scott hesitates for a moment before he turns and walks out of the room to investigate, Brett directly behind. Stiles and Selene follow after the two to accompany them, but on their way to the door, they becomes distracted by the photos hanging on the wall next to it. They steps over to get a closer look and frown when they see that every photograph is solely of Alex with no other people. Selene and Stiles share a look. Upon closer inspection, Stiles notices that one of the photos is in a frame with "#1 Dad" printed on it but does not feature Alex's father anywhere.

"Look at this" Stiles says and points at the #1 Dad picture.

"They've been erased" Selene then realises. They share another concerned look. Suddenly, a strong gust of wind blows behind them, startling them so much that they gasp and jump back a bit.

~~~
Meanwhile, Scott, still holding a lit flashlight, makes his way down the stairs with and back into the completely empty living room with Brett.
They then enters the dining room, once again making note of the empty plates and glasses set on the table until the sound of footsteps nearby causes them to look alarmed and uneasy. Scott's about to follow the sound when he glances back at the table and realizes to his shock that the plates that were just on the table have vanished; had it not been for the circles left behind in the thick layer of dust where the plates and glasses were just sitting, one would not know they had even been there. Brett and Scott share an uneasy look.
~~~

Back upstairs in Alex's room, Stiles sees that the bedskirt is seemingly blowing in the wind.

"Did you see that?" he asks.
