Aria has beautiful blonde hair and natural born purple eyes. She was 3 years old running through the castle as her attendant/personal guard/friend Hanabusa ran after her. Hanabusa was 8 years old.

"Milady please slow down" Hanabusa begs "if you fall and get hurt my dad's going to scold me again"

Aria sticks her tongue out at him before turning down another hall. Aria bumps into somebody and falls on her butt.

"Princess" Hanabusa arrives and helps her up "hey how dare you bum into the princess! Are you- ah!" he stops when he sees a boy a couple years older then him "Lord Kaname"

"Forgive me" the boy Kaname apologizes before looking at Aria "are you alright your highness?"

"Y-Yes" Aria holds Hanabusa's shirt

"Princess Aria this is Lord Kaname, he's a pureblood vampire" Hanabusa introduces "his father is here for the council meeting today too" he looks at Kaname "If I knew you were coming I would've greeted you"

"You're job is to watch the princess not greet guests" Kaname smiles "so it's no problem at all"

"ne Hanabusa" Aria tugs on his shirt "are you and Lord Kaname friends?"

"yeah, but Princess you don't call him Lord Kaname" Hanabusa tells her "he's a lord cause he's the son of an aristocrat of the highest standing and a pure blood, but you're of a higher standing then him so you can just call him by his name"

"huh?" Aria looks confused

"He's right princess" Kaname smiles "calling me lord would be improper, please don't lower your standing"

"...alright Kaname" Aria smiles

"Do you know why I'm here today?" Kaname asks

"Nope" Aria says "what?"

"I'm going to be joining the knights in training" Kaname tells her "meaning when you get older and take over I'm going to be one of your Vampire Knights"

"Who are the Vampire Knights?" Aria asks

"Milady the Vampire Knights are the vampires you see wearing the white suites, they kinda look like school uniforms, the males wear pants and the females wear skirts"

"Ohhhh, you mean the private guards?" Aria questions

"Yeah, but their proper name are the Vampire Knights" Hanabusa smiles

"So Kaname is going to be training to become one?" Aria asks looking at him

"Yes" Kaname confirms "I look forward to serving you princess"

"Do your best" Aria smiles

"H-Hey princess you know I'm training to become one too!" Hanabusa shouts

"hm?" Aria looks at him "yeah"

Hanabusa sulks and Kaname lets out a chuckle but tries to hide it.

"W-what?!" Hanabusa questions

"your highness I think your personal guard wants your praise too" Kaname chuckles

"hm" Aria goes on her tippy toes and pats Hanabusa's head "do your best"

Hanabusa blushes in embarrassment "t-thank you highness"

4 year old Aria yawns as she sits in her father's throne, Hanabusa stood beside her. It was already 10pm, her mother and father haven't arrived home yet. She refused to go to bed until they returned from battle. Suddenly the land begun to shake tremendously.

"H-Hanabusa" Aria looks at him worried

"Princess we must seek shelter" Hanabusa picks her up

He quickly runs through the halls of the castle. He soon meets up with Kaname who was with the rest of the group of young Vampire Knights in training and Kaname's father who was the current leader of the Vampire Knights.

"We don't know what's going on but the princess's safety comes first" the captain tells them "I want you all to bring princess Aria to the Sanctuary under the castle, the lieutenant will meet you there"

"yes!" the children agree

"Where's my mom and dad?" Aria asks worriedly

"I'm sure they're safe princess" the captain reassures her "make sure you stay with your friends, they might only be in training but they're trustworthy so trust that they'll keep you safe"

Aria nods and holds onto Hanabusa. The children all take off towards the sanctuary under the castle where they met up with the lieutenant. Their was a lot more enormous tremors and loud sounds for the next couple hours. They waited for hours after it stopped until the doors above them opened.

"Aria!"

"Mama" Aria smiles

Layla runs down and Aria runs over to her. Layla hugs her tightly.

"Oh my darling you're ok, I'm so relieved" Layla says

"Mama where's daddy?" Aria asks

"Well.. Daddy had a little fight with your Sensei Wu and Garmadon, he's.. gonna be gone for a bit to cool off" Layla tells her

"But daddy will be back.. right?" Aria asks"

"Of course honey" Layla smiles "now come on" she picks up Aria "let's get you to bed"

Aria smiles "ok mommy"

"And.. now"

"Ah!"

SPLASH

Garmadon turns around to see Aria in the pond.

"You didn't keep your balance" Wu says as he comes out of the monastery

"I'm 5 years old!" Aria shouts "I don't have balance!"

Garmadon helps Aria out of the pond as Wu walks over with a towel that he puts around. Little Aria looks frustrated as Layla walks through the giant gates.

"I'm here" Layla calls out happily "how did training- and she fell in the pond again"

"Yep" Wu and Garmadon say together

"Mom I can't balance" Aria tells her mother "can't I do something else?"

"You can't do anything else if you can't master the basics" Wu says

"You just gotta try again tomorrow" Garmadon pats her head

"ahhh" Aria looks up "not again"

Layla giggles and helps dry her off "alright time to go home"

"How has the Shadowlands been so far?" Wu asks her "has their been any Serpentine sightings?"

"None yet" Layla replies "but after the battle with them in Birchwood I fear with Chen's help it'll only be a matter of time before they try to cross the border"

"We should consider constructing those flutes I saw in Jamanakai" Garmadon suggests "if something like that can control a regular snake then who says one won't work on the serpentine?"

"it is possible" Layla says "it would end this war faster as well"

"Mom" Aria tugs on her mother's dress "when can we go home?"

"Not now honey" Layla tells her gently "go play for a bit while I'm talking"

Aria sighs and walks out of the monastery. She decided to explore the woods since she's been in there many times before. As she walked around she played with the animals.

"Don't you know it's dangerous to be running around a forest alone"

Aria turns around to see a large purple snake.

"...are you talking?" Aria asks

"I am" he confirms "haven't you heard of the Serpentine little girl?"

"Sensei Garmadon and Wu have mentioned them before but I didn't really pay attention" Aria replies

the snake smirks "so, you're their beloved pupil"

"I guess so" Aria shrugs "Sensei Wu helps direct me a lot in martial arts but Sensei Garmadon is in charge of my powers"

"Works for me" he says

Aria felt pain in the back of her head before she fell forward.

"did you have to hit her so hard, she's is still a child"

"She's fine, i didn't hit her that hard"

"Aria where are you!" she heard her mother shout from the monastery

Her vision darkens and she closes her eyes "mama"
