The first time he heard you, you were playing 7 years by Lukas Graham. He was out during the day to get some supplies he and his brothers needed at the time and had decided to explore around for a little while longer. It's not everyday he gets to go out even if he had to wear a large trench coat and hat. He was lucky enough to be walking on the same street you were performing at.
Raph stopped in his tracks when he heard the most beautiful voice somewhere in the distance. Looking around, he caught a small crowd around someone. He guessed it was where the voice was coming from. He walked towards the crowd, the voice now growing louder as he comes close and realized it was singing and a guitar? Once he reached the crowd he saw you, strumming the guitar effortlessly with your eyes closed. You stood there, tapping your foot to the beat with a smile on your face as you continued to sing. People were tossing money in the worn out guitar case beside you and stood there to listen to you.
He could tell you were happy with what you were doing. Your voice sounded sound sweet and mesmerizing, he couldn't help but get goosebumps. When the song ended, you asked for some song requests. He had no song in mind so he just stood there with his hand holding the plastic bag full of supplies clasped tightly. He listened until you were done for the day and dispersed with the crowd, planning to see you again.
Every day, he came to the same street and hear you play. And every single time you mesmerized him. He eventually got the courage to request a song. Usually the songs were popular but eventually, he started asking for songs that you usually don't hear on the radio. You seemed to like the challenge and happily sung them.
After three weeks of visiting, you tugged on his sleeve, asking him to wait. You packed up and wondered if you could talk to him for a moment. He was ecstatic and happily said yes. It was then he found out you were homeless, escaping a house that you stopped calling home. He asked what happened but all you told him that you weren't ready to tell, he respected that. You became friends since that day.
A month passed by with you talking with him and it was nice to have a new friend. You actually figured out Raphael was a turtle just a few days of getting to know one another. You never judged or fear him and he liked that about you, you were open-minded. You spoke about anything that came to mind and it was always during breaks or when the day ends.
With how much Raphael sneaks out during the day, his family was getting suspicious. They didn't think much of it but once he started to come home with either a dazed look or of joy, they started to question. They tried asking him but he only gave excuses and lies that were fairly poor. They let him go, for now.

Leonardo jumped when he heard his phone ringing loudly from his pouch. Groaning, he placed his comic book down and after glancing at the caller he answered.
"This better be good, Raph. I was just getting to the good part." He answered, annoyance clear in his voice.
"Leo! Can you get our brothers and meet me at our usual spot?" Raph asked, panting and hurried.
"Why? You sound panicked." Leo raised an eyebrow ridge (?), standing up and already exiting out of his room.
"I am panicking! (Y/N) is kidnapped by those foot face dudes and-"
"Woah, woah, woah. Who's (Y/N)?" The blue-masked turtle interrupted.
"Did I say (Y/N)? I, heh, I mean a, uh, another thing that is totally not a person." Raphael chuckled nervously as he tries to cover his mistake.
"Does Raphie have a girlfriend?" Leo teased, a smirk growing on his face.
"No! (Y/N) is a girl that's a friend."
"So it is a person?" Leo laughed when he heard his brother stop and muttered something under his breath. He knows he's caught. "Wait, is it that mystery person you keep sneaking out to meet?"
"Just get here, quickly. I'll explain later." The call then ended before the red-eared slider could say anything else. He chuckled, looking at his screen before putting it back in his pouch and went to look and inform his other brothers.
You were sitting on the floor with your body tied to a pole with little movement to make yourself comfortable. In front of you were two males and one female. The two males had orange tattoos designed to look like a foot with flames on top of their heads. One was large and the more intimidating of the two while the other was skinny but from what you saw, he was skilled with magic while the other was pretty much the muscle. The female referred to as the recruit, had you taken aback with how intense she is about destruction and seemed very passionate about everything. You've never seen them in a fight but it would make sense if they are very skilled just from the small actions you were able to see while they brought you in an abandoned building.
"When are the turtles coming?" The recruit groaned out, looking around, eager for a fight.
"Calm down recruit. If the red turtle is smart, or maybe stupid, he will bring the guitar to trade for her." The skinny one answered in his raspy voice, gesturing to you.
"They're here." The large one said, pointing towards the platform above where four silhouettes stood with a case. They all hopped down and out of the shadows, giving you a better view of who was saving you. Your eyes lit up when you saw Raphael and from what he mentioned to you, his brothers.
"Alright foot faces, give us (Y/N) and then we'll give you the guitar," Raph said, lifting up the case where your guitar resided. Your eyes widened and started to squirm and shout under the fabric tied around your mouth. That was your favorite and only guitar! Like hell, you would let your captors take it.

"Very well, give us what we want first." The skinny one nodded towards the recruit, who walked over to you with a kunai in hand while he put his arms up, waiting for the snapping turtle to hand the guitar.
Leonardo stopped his older brother from walking forward with a hand and glared at the foot ninjas with suspicion clear in his eyes.
"Wait, how do we know this isn't a trap?" He asked, raising his sword to point at them.
"We're literally letting this girl go." The recruit said with the most deadpan look on her face as she started to move you towards the turtles rather roughly.
"This does seem too easy." Donatello piped in with a hand under his chin and his eyes squinted. Michelangelo made hum of agreement and glared at the ninjas.
"Why do you even want the guitar? Planning to make some music?" Raph taunted while he held the guitar case tighter to him.
"This isn't a trap. Just give us what we want." The large ninja demanded, stepping up. Hesitantly, Raph handed it over, ignoring the muffled shouts you were giving him. He knows that guitar is precious to you but you were much more important. Once he gave it away, you pushed towards the turtles and stumbled to remain balanced.
Leo caught you and quickly cut the ropes tied around your wrists and untied the cloth on your face. You rubbed your wrists and gave him a thank you before you were pulled into a bone-crushing hug from the large turtle.
"You're okay!"
"I would be if I can breathe." You wheezed out, patting Raph on the arm. He immediately let go and apologized, sheepishly. You shook your head with a chuckle and gave give a hug, which he returned it gently.
"So, Raph, gonna introduce us?" Leo spoke up, interrupting the moment. Separating from the hug, Raphael chuckled nervously and rubbed the back of his neck with one hand.
"Guys, this is (Y/N). (Y/N), these are my brothers, Leo, Donnie, and Mikey." They all gave a gesture of greeting when he introduced them by name. You smiled and waved in return.
"Hi, it's nice finally to meet you all. I've heard a lot about you."
"It's nice to meet Raph's secret and pretty friend!" Mikey said going up to you and hugging you. Your eyes widened but returned it. After he let go, Donnie piped up wondering about something.
"Why did they kidnap you?"
"As you know, they wanted my guitar. I don't know why but since Raph had my guitar today, they decided kidnapping me would be a good idea to lure him out with my guitar." You answered, crossing your arms and putting weight on one leg.
"Could it be that there was a mystical metal on it?" Leo wondered.
"I mean part of the guitar neck does have a piece of metal on it, I think it was to fix a crack on it. The turtles nodded at that. "But how am I supposed to play now?" You asked, saddened and worried. How were you supposed to make money now?
"My offer still stands, you know," Raph suggested with a look. You sighed at that. About two weeks of befriending him, he offered to let you live with him and his family, you had declined.
"Raph, I can't just start living with you. What if your dad doesn't want me to, or your brothers?"
"Why do you need to stay with us? Don't you have a family to go home to?" Mikey asked, looking at you and Raph with a confused look, along with the other two.
"I ran away from home and have been living on the streets for almost a year now. I'm used to it." You answered with a shrug. The three looked at you with shock while the oldest gave you a disapproving look.
"That does explain the malnourishment," Donnie said blankly but he is worried.
"We'll talk to pops but he shouldn't mind and we do have an extra room we don't use so you can have it."
"What? No, I don't want to intrude on you guys." You said, denying Leo's offer.
"As long as you're not like Bullhop, then you won't be," Leo responded. You look at Raph who was giving you a pleading look before you realized Mikey was too. You chewed on your lip before you gave in.
After a while of living with the turtles, you were much more happier than you were in the streets. The turtles did everything they could to make sure you were living instead of just surviving. Splinter didn't mind you living with them and was even happy to have you when you made sure the lair stayed clean and other things to pay back for the family's hospitality. Your overall health was better thanks to Donnie and Mikey making sure you were getting the nutrition you needed. You became friends with the other brothers and their friend, April, while your bond with Raph grew stronger. You both were almost inseparable and anyone can see how much you care for one another.
You still sing and eventually play with your new guitar, thanks to Donnie. Raph's family was amazed by your talent and started to ask variety of songs for you to play. You happily played and sing for them and eventually, it grew to be a tradition for you to sing once a week. Raph nicknamed you songbird and sometimes his brothers teased him for it but did agree with it.
You were his songbird and you couldn't have it any other way.

The Twelve
In a world marred by the supernatural, Japan suffers from its own fair share of evil and demonic disasters, with generations of shamans known as Onmyoji protecting their homeland from these forces of evil. Capable of wielding magic and using spirits of their own, these shamans were not only skilled in battle, but also divination. However, they were unable to correctly predict Japan's loss in World War Two, and suffered the punishments that followed. Persecuted and torn apart by infighting, the Onmyoji reunited under the banner of the Tsuchimikado clan, descendants of Abe no Seimei, one of the greatest Onmyoji to ever live. The Onmyoji began to rebuild and to regrow. Ren is the sole heir to the Tsuchimikado family, but has been unable to practice Onmyodo ever since his birth, even though he possesses the greatest ability in the family. But when disaster befalls his family, Ren has nobody to turn to, and no idea how to use his powers. As he journeys to escape the same fate his family faced and attempts to learn how to use his powers, there is only one question on his mind; as the Tsuchimikado heir, how can he save the Onmyoji... from themselves? ---------------------------------------------- note from author: I'm writing this based loosely on the very real theories of Onmyodo, and so my writing may not be a truthful or accurate depiction of Onmyodo or other related areas, such as religion, for instance. That is why, while depicted in the real world, events that happen may seem unrealistic and it may be easier to imagine it as a parallel universe that is the same as ours, but with slight differences so that my possible errors will be easier to overlook. Sorry, and thanks!
