During the first few years growing up the turtles only had their dad, Splinter to take care of them. While he did his best to raise them, there were some things he lacked or struggled with. But that changed when you accidentally stumbled upon them one night as Splinter was trying to move them to another area in the sewers. You were surprised and scared but you quickly pushed the fear away when the youngest started to cry. You introduced yourself and helped calm the young one down before you led them to the part of the sewers you know would be safe for them.
Splinter found it odd to find you in the sewers but something about you made him trust you just a little bit. Of course, he asked why you were exploring the sewers and you seemed sheepish as you explained.
"I used to hide down here when things up top felt overwhelming. I was a very weird child. I remember having a safe haven here, it's been abandoned for a long time and no one goes there so I thought you guys could have it." You gave him a warm smile as you kept walking ahead with one of his sons, Michelangelo, in your arms. He nodded at that and continued to ask you questions, some were a bit invasive but you didn't seem to show too much discomfort about it and truthfully answered his questions.
Once you finally showed them your safe haven, it became their home ever since. You try to visit them with full of supplies to make sure they were comfortable and happy. Splinter found out you were a college student and only in the first year too. He knows how stressful school can be so he was surprised how often you came to visit and with so many supplies. You never showed any signs of stress and seemed to be happy almost all the time. He asked you about it and realizing just how busy your schedule is and how much you've sacrificed to give him and his family a home, he knew he can truly trust you.

You and him became friends and worked together to make sure the boys have a wonderful life. You helped raise them like they were your own children. You eventually became a mother to the turtles. They even started calling you 'mom' and you happily took that role.
Now that they were teenagers, you still showed them the motherly love that they had longed for as kids. They try to show how much they love you every single day but sometimes they do forget. They never really did show just how much they appreciated you being in their lives but this time, they were going to and why not start on Mother's Day?
Waking up, you didn't expect to see all your sons' face close up to yours with grins on their faces. You scrambled up with a yelp and placed a hand on your heart. Taking a deep breath, you gave them a playful glare.
"So, anyone wants to explain why you all are in my room?" You raised a brow and darted your eyes to each grinning turtle.
"Well, you see-"
"No time to explain! Breakfast is ready and we can't leave it cold." Leo interrupted Raph and swiftly carried you, bridal style. You blinked in surprise and just as you were about to protest, he quickly carried you to the kitchen with his brothers following. When you finally arrived in the kitchen, you let out a gasp, your eyes widened at the colorful balloons and streamers decorating the kitchen. Your eyes landed on April and Splinter who had wide smiles on their faces before your eyes looked up at the banner.
"Happy Mother's Day!" Everyone shouted, confetti thrown around. Leo put you back on your feet and kept you steady when you stumbled for a bit. Your hands hovered in front of your mouth as you continued to look around and at the people in front of you, your family.

"You guys didn't have to do this." You whispered out, you could feel your eyes starting to burn a bit.
"You deserve so much more than this," Raph responded with a smile.
"You've done so much for us and we don't really show how much we appreciate it." Leo pitched in, leaning against his older brother.
"Well, you guys don't but I do," Mikey said with a cheeky smile. Donnie seemed offended along with the others.
"Boys, no arguing." You chuckled out, stopping them from even saying anything.
"Regardless, we wanted to show you just how much we love and appreciate you so this whole day is your day and we're going to celebrate it." The tech genius spoke looking back at you.
"Oh, you guys are making me emotional. Come here." The turtles wrapped their arms around you with Raph engulfing all of you in a large hug. You let out a giggle and placed a kiss on their foreheads. Once you were all put down, April gave you a large leather book.
"We made something for you." She said as she handed it to you.
"Since you took so many pictures, we all thought having them all organized would make it easier to look at." Splinter added from where he stood. You gave him a smile before you went to open the thick scrapbook. The first page was a picture of your whole family. April and the turtles were sitting in front of you while you and Splinter sat behind them, all of you had big smiles on your faces. At the bottom was a simple message.
We love you, Mom.

Tales of Light
These are a collection of short stories following different narratives. It's more like a playground and experimenting with ideas or subjects I don't want to write a complete story about. It's also a place to test my skills as a writer. Think of it as a notebook of un/finished ideas. Feel free to pick and choose which chapters to read. They aren't related unless specifically said otherwise. Just relax, enjoy, and cringe at goofy stories. There may be a timeline of events, or not... who knows?
