《Bakugou's Lover》Chapter Eight: The Past is a Nice Thing

For the past few days, Bakugou has been waking up to flowers and other gifts. He had to admit it was kinda cute. He would wake up and look over and see a bouquet of orange Alstroemerias on the bedside table. They were put into a black glass vase. They were beautiful. He loved them so much. He would lightly run his fingertips across the petals and smile to himself. "He would like these." He whispered softly.
"Who would?" His red eyes met black and he smiled. "Momo, how are you?" She returned it, "I'm doing well, thank you for asking. Who were you talking about?" "My dog, Lucid. He likes the color orange. I miss him." Momo nodded as he talked. "You're so pretty, Bakugou." His face burned as he shyly smiled. "T-thank you, Momo. You're very pretty too." "It's hard to imagine someone like you being single." He smiled and nodded. "I guess so. But it's the same for you. You are very pretty. I'm surprised I haven't seen a ring on your finger yet." A nervous laugh left her mouth and she stared down at her hand. "I suppose it is because I haven't been able to 'live' for a very long time."
Bakugou made a very confused face, but he knew what she was talking about. "I'll tell you this but you can't tell anyone. It's a part of my life that I've been able to keep secret for a long time." He nodded. He held onto her hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze.
"My mother and father were rich people. They gave me whatever I wanted and loved me unconditionally. I loved them too. We were friends with the Todoroki's. Shoto and I had crushes on each other too. My mother and father have embraced it, but the Todoroki's didn't. One day the Mr. Todoroki and Shoto came over and were discussing something with my father. There was a lot of yelling until Mr. Todoroki came and grabbed us. They took us into the living room and sat us down. I was so scared. Apparently, my father had taken a loan from him and couldn't pay it back. In front of us, he shot him in the head. He laughed as he did it too. I looked over to Shoto and saw that he was just staring at us. With a bored expression. I wanted to yell at him. Them. I wanted to yell at everyone. I was so angry. But what could I do? I was just a kid.
A few men came into the room and took me and my mother. I haven't seen her since that day. They had told me that if I was good then I'd see her again. I already knew I wasn't gonna see her again, but I kept that in my mind as they sold me. I was lucky enough to be sold to a nice woman named Midnight. I didn't really know her name, that's just what she wanted me to call her. I'm so grateful to her too. I was studying to be a doctor. It was just by chance I was chosen to be a doctor here. Shoto doesn't seem to remember, but I do. I remember everything."
Bakugou wrapped his arms around her and put his face into her neck. She cried into his shirt and hugged him back. "He knows." she thought and smiled into his hair. He pulled back and grabbed her hand and a pen. "I'm so grateful that you trusted me enough with that story. I'll be here if you ever want to talk more about it. I hope you can trust me enough to help you get better." He closed her hand and smiled. "I hope we can get along." She hesitantly nodded and left.

Todoroki smiled to himself as he walked throughout the house. In his hands was a giant stuffed bunny. It reminded him of Bakugou. He hopes it will make Bakugou smile. He was about to open the door when he heard someone talking. He sounded like Momo.
"I'm so grateful that you trusted me enough with that story. I'll be here if you ever want to talk more about it. I hope you can trust me enough to help you get better." He cracked open the door and saw that Bakugou was holding Momo's hand. Bakugou was a caring person, Todoroki always knew that. He saw Momo nod before going to stand and leave. She turned towards him and smiled. "Good morning, Todoroki." "Good morning, Momo. How's Bakugou doing?" "He's recovering just fine. Another day of rest will have him doing just as good as before." She smiled as she wrote some stuff on her clipboard that had been discarded onto the table. She said goodbye before exiting the room.
"Bakugou. I've brought you something that reminded me of you." He handed him the bunny and waited to see his reaction. Bakugou took it from him and stared at it. It was a big blond bunny with pink fabric cheeks. It had soft fur that won't stick to his clothes and large bunny ears. He brought it to his chest and caught a whiff of the smell it gave off. Jasmine. Jasmine has a strong, beautiful smell that he enjoyed. Smiled as his fingers slid up to the Rosie red bow tied around his neck. "Thank you. I really love this." He said, smiling at the man.
Todoroki felt his face heat up as he looked at the blond. He loved the smile he gave him. He loved everything the blond showed to him. He loved the blond. He loved Bakugou. He wanted to just make the blond his. The blond stirs so many questions in his mind. Why does the blond make him feel this way? What does the blond think of him? Will the blond ever love him? If so, how long until he is his? So many questions.
"Kacchan?" The two turned to the green-haired boy holding a tray of food. "Kacchan, you look better already!" He smiled as he placed the tray in front of him. Bakugou smiled, putting the bunny next to him. "Thank you." Midoriya nervously laughed as he sat on a chair next to the bed. Bakugou has been rather cold towards Midoriya ever since the "talk." Bakugou began eating and completely ignored him. It was hard for Todoroki to keep a straight face because Midoriya looked like a kicked puppy and Bakugou had an adorable pout on his face.
"Bakugou, Midoriya wants to take you on a date tomorrow for an apology." Bakugou looked over to Midoriya, he was nodding his head and smiling like a big idiot. "Yeah! I want to apologize for how insensitive." Bakugou just kept eating and ignoring him. Midoriya frowned, sighing. "Kacchan, what can I do to make you forgive me?" Bakugou looked back at him and glared. "Please Kacchan!" Bakugou thought for a second before smiling. "Okay, but we get to do whatever I want." He quickly nodded and smiled. "Yes! Whatever you want!"
-------
"This is not what I expected." Midoriya held a nervous smile on his face as they stood in the Yuuei gym watching them dance around and cry because the one they wanted to dance with is dancing with someone else. "You said we can do whatever I want. And I want to chaperone for homecoming." Kacchan smiled as a teacher came up to them. "Bakugou. It's good to see you again. I wanted to come see you at your shop but it was never open." Sorry, Aizawa. I've been away so I couldn't deal with it. But don't worry it's been up and running in no time." He smiled and nodded. "And who's this?" Aizawa pointed to the freckly standing next to him. "This is Midoriya. Midoriya, this is Aizawa." They shook hands before a boy with light purple hair walked up to them. "Katsuki. It's good to see you again. I see you're chaperoning again this year." "Of course!" He laughed as he pulled the light purple-haired man onto the dance floor.

"Don't look so mad, boy." Midoriya jumped a bit and looked over to the other. "I'm not mad." "Like hell, you aren't. You look like you're gonna rip my son's head off." Aizawa dryly laughed. The two watched as Shinso danced with Kacchan. Spinning him and dipping him and he laughed. Shinso looked up and his eyes met with Midoriya's and he smirked. He spun Kacchan around again, making him laugh. "He's trying to get to you." "And it's working." Midoriya felt his hands clench as he pushed himself off the wall. Aizawa's hand pushed him back and it startled him. He's so strong.
"Bakugou is Shinso's brother. So don't start making a scene at my daughter's dance." Midoriya laughed nervously. He felt kinda stupid. They watched as the two came back over from dancing. "I'm too old for this." "You're only 22." "Exactly!" Kacchan laughed as he lightly punched him on the shoulder. Midoriya smiled as he watched them. Of course, he was jealous of their close relationship but Kacchan was smiling.
"Katsuki!" The four turned to a bluish white-haired girl wearing a red dress dragging a black-haired boy by the arm. He was blushing covering his face. "Hello, Eri. How's Kota treating you?" "He's being a real gentleman. Who knew the flowers he was getting were for me? He asked me then and there. And I said yes!" She said excitedly. "Yeah, who knew?" Kacchan laughed as he bumped Kota who was still covering his face. Aizawa and Shinso smiled too. Smiled. Yeah, that's what that was.
"Go on you two, enjoy your dance." Kacchan pushed the two onto the dance floor. They waved before disappearing into the crowd. "See wasn't this a fun idea?" Kacchan smiled up to him and he sighed. "I guess so, but I wouldn't call this a date." "This isn't the date." "It's not?" Kacchan shook his head and smiled. "Nope. We're going somewhere after this." Shinso put a hand on Kacchan's head and frowned. "A date? Can I crash it?" "No. You can't." He pushed his hand away and hit him. "At least tell me where it is. Please?" Kacchan thought for a second before leaning towards him and leaning into his ear.
"Oh! That's boring." He hit him again and scoffed. "Well you're not the one going are you?" Shinso laughed before pulling out his phone. "Speaking of dates. I need to take my special someone on one after this." He went into the hall as Kacchan stood next to Midoriya. "You having fun?" Midoriya smiled. "I'm always having fun when I'm with you." Kacchan laughed. "You didn't have to say something so cheesy." "I didn't mean for it to sound cheesy!" They both laughed as the music slowed down.
"This song will be the last for tonight! Remember to save room for Nezu!" Kacchan laughed as the loud blond stepped down from the stage. He made his way over to them and held out his hand for Aizawa to take. "Can I have this dance?" Aizawa wouldn't help the small smile that was on his face. He slapped his hand down onto the blonds and he smiled. The blond immediately pulled him onto the dance floor with the other students and faculty. Kacchan smiled as he watched the other students dance with their partners and friends.
"Would you like to dance?" Kacchan turned towards the man and smiled. He pulled onto the dance floor and put his hands around his neck. Midoriya followed by putting his hands around his waist. "So you do this every year?" "Yeah. I bring flowers for decoration and help set them up. I had asked Todoroki to do it this year." Midoriya nodded, listening intently. "How did you meet everyone?" "Why are you asking so many questions?" He laughed. "I just wanna know you better."
"Well if you must know. Hizashi, the blond DJ, had come to me with the request for flowers. He wanted to get something really special for Aizawa. I gave him some pretty lilies and he came back after a week with Aizawa and a ring on his finger. I congratulated them and gave them flower crowns. Aizawa came back and asked for some flowers for a dance they were having here and I accepted. I helped set them up and met Shinso and Eri. Eri sometimes comes over to the shop just to hang out and help with the flowers. She brought a boy named Kota and I could already tell he was head over heels for her." Kacchan laughed to himself recalling the memories. He was brought back by Midoriya, dipping him.
"They all seem like nice people. I hope to get to know them better." Bakugou laughed, differently. "I hope you do too. Now come. I think Shinso and everyone else has this covered. Let's go." Kacchan pulled Midoriya back to his car and they drove off.
------
"Olive garden?" Kacchan smiled. "Yeah, I know the owner so it wasn't too hard to get a table." They stepped out of the car and walked towards the building. Midoriya had a feeling that he was forgetting something but pushed it down to catch up to Kacchan who was already at the door. They were greeted by a blond girl. She had yellow eyes and a big bright smile. She didn't say anything, just pointed them to a table after Kacchan said his name.
"For some reason, she looks oddly familiar," Midoriya said, staring at her. "You know it's rude to stare at people." He nervously smiled rubbing the back of his neck. "Sorry, Kacchan."
"Kacchan? What kinda nickname is that?" Midoriya looked over to the seat behind Kacchan. "Excuse me? What the hell did you just say?" The man turned around putting his arm around the blond's shoulders. "I said what kinda nickname is Kacchan?" He placed a gun next to his head and smiled. "It's good to see you, Midoriya."

8 213Thief of Time
[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Book 1: The Legend of Tot Synopsis: Claud Primus, a self-declared master thief, has a simple goal. To live forever. It's a rather easy task, for miraculous objects called lifestones are able to extend one's lifespan. These lifestones are best found in the treasuries of nobles, lovely resorts that Claud pays a visit to every so often. Unfortunately, one of those nightly visits go awry, and Claud is forced to escape with just a single lifestone and a box in hand. Normally, that's when things die down. The guards yawn, the gates close, and the night continues. But this time, the night isn't that forgiving. A dozen schemes result in the murder of someone important, and with a convenient scapegoat — Claud — at hand, it doesn't take long for him to be framed as a heinous criminal, wanted for the indirect murder of someone high up...and it just gets worse from there. Book 2: The Moon Lords' Rise Synopsis: As ordered chaos sweeps across Licencia, Claud leaves for Julan Barony, intent on making some profits there. Accompanied by the erstwhile heiress of Julan, a fellow member of the Moon Lords, the two plot against the barony's wealth...as well as a promise to bring about its downfall. Meanwhile, back home, the Moon Lords have busied themselves with digesting their gains. Eyes, however, are beginning to turn to this proverbial fish in a small pond. The fishermen are coming. When they cast their hook, what will Dia and the others do? Book 3: Murders under the Moons Synopsis: In the sleepy town of Nachtville, where Claud and Lily are forced to stop at, a set of nasty murders occurs. Victims scream out in fright, before a spear falls from the sky to end their suffering. Cowed and cautious, the master thief and his partner slink in the shadows, their objective that of home... A new task, however, has fallen on Dia. With a trusty helper at her side, she has to set off towards Nachtville itself, to solve the mystery Claud had abandoned. Faced with an enemy whose sole skillset is geared towards killing, how will they succeed? And what dark secrets will they find? Book 4: In the Dark of the Moons Synopsis: The year has ended. The four months of the full moons will soon be followed by two months of the new moons. Duke Istrel's ascension is around the corner. Amidst this political upheaval, Count Nightfall, Licencia's strongest defender, has been called away. The Moon Lords' largest task yet — to protect Licencia in the absence of its ruler — has begun. And yet, trouble is unrelenting. A distinguished personage, one that Claud fears, has been found dead in the county, his brains dug out and his body disemboweled. The inquisitors of the White Church have been dispatched to investigate and apprehend the murderer...as well as the person behind this puppet. Tormented by a call to fight, Claud directs his eyes out of the city, looking for the puppetmaster. Skulking in the shadows, the master thief will soon confront his greatest foe yet. A foe just like him. Book 5: Moonlit Tides and Darkened Seas Synopsis: A new era has begun. For the privileged, the sands of time dribble away for every passing moment, counting down to the arrival of a entity of mythical proportions. The night now harbours shadows and fog, and operatives of the Moons and the Dark clash in shadow. Claud, as usual, is investigating a spate of nasty disappearances in the city, but little does he know what these disappearances truly mean. And yet, a tide is coming. When it finally breaks, what will he do? Book 6: Secrets in Shadow Synopsis: The person behind a strike that would enter the annals of history flees his home, bringing with him the person closest to his heart into a new land and into a new world. Having left Istrel for the first time in his life, the two of them attempt to settle down in foreign lands, only to be caught in the middle of hostilities between two mighty powers grappling for dominion. Yet, none of that has anything to do with him. Following his desires, Claud eventually makes his way to the fabled Celestia Ruins, a fragment of another world. Bearing witness to truths he cannot yet comprehend, he returns from his exploration, a small break away from the machinations of destiny. One thing, however, is for certain. Destiny will not wait for him. Book 7: Reddest Rage Synopsis: Destiny churns on, heedless of mortal machinations, and Claud watches as the battlegrounds between the Moons and the Dark are drawn up. With the forces of the great Dark occupying Lostfon, Claud comes to a startling realisation — that he may have very well be a murderer of heinous proportions. Grappling with that realisation, he struggles to prepare for his Second Tutorial... Back in Istrel, Dia finds herself confronted with a perennial truth. Even in a time of writhing destiny, the machinations between nobles never cease to end — and unfortunately for her, the group once known as the Moon Lords are forced into dealing with a petty squabble between two counts. What they didn't account for, however, was the startling discovery they would soon make... And the shadow of the Red God's Holy Son behind it all. Book 8: Darkness Descends Synopsis: Nightmares haunt the horizon as Claud sinks and awakens from a seeming dream. What was once illusory begins to play out before him, in a way he cannot imagine. Dia, forced to wield arms, begins and ends a battle that opens her eyes to the vast dangers that lurk in this sundered world. Under the banner of humanity and divinity, she beholds the silent, forgotten protectors of Orb...but there is no forgetting the battle between the divinities. The Dark descends, the Moons writhe, and the horns of war blow once more. But this is not their battle. Not yet. Book 9: Moons Muster Synopsis: As more and more events fall into place, Claud finds himself desperate. Not for himself, but for the person who has turned into his world. Armed with the knowledge of a certain future, he approaches the only person that could possibly help him in his time of need, trading information for a promise of help. With that as solace, he returns to the grim task of understanding and seeking, revisiting an ancient, shattered fragment of another world...unleashing changes that he never knew was possible. Back in Istrel, Dia and the others must now navigate around a familiar spirit, who seeks to investigate the death of his master's Bearer. With them as prime suspects, the Seekers of Life must move carefully...but the Coloured Gods are not the only divinities eyeing them closely. The Moons, bristling from repeated defeats, are looking for new recruits, and the Seekers of Life are prime cannon fodder. Above all, destiny marches on, the unfeeling clock a warning to all. The Trial of Aeons will soon arrive. Book 10: Destiny Divine Synopsis: ??? Release frequency: one every few days or something, I guess.
