The next few weeks are very...uneventful.

I mean, Jose and I go out on a few more dates but he hasn't officially asked me to be his girlfriend, LaMelo is...being LaMelo, and Clarissa and Tracy are still low key beefing.

Before I know it, it's the last day of summer school.

In my first period, we just watched the movie Holes.

I'm going to assume it was a cool movie but I wouldn't really know because I fell asleep on it but anyways, that's not the point.

As I'm walking to Mr.Servell's class LaMelo spots me and he walks with me.

LaMelo glances at me and then he gets this mischievous smirk on his face.

"How tall are you?" LaMelo asked.

I glance at him before replying.

"I'm 5'3..." I mumble.

"You're what?"

"5'3," I say louder this time.

"So basically 4'11?" LaMelo asked while holding in a laugh.

"I'm not 4'11, stupid!" I scoff.

"You know how tall I am?" LaMelo asked.

He waits for me to answer but I don't so he continues.

"I am 6'8!" LaMelo laughs. "You're so short!"

"You're too tall!"

We finally make it to Mr.Servell's class and I make my way to my seat.

Once the bell rings Mr. Servell starts to speak.

"So since the World Cup is going to be live right now I am going to show that!" Mr. Servell states.

He pauses before speaking again.

"I brought uno and regular playing cards so be nice children and share because sharing shows that you care!"

There are a few people to laugh at his joke but most of us stay silent.

"Everyone who wants to play uno come over here!" This kid named Victor says.

A few people get up to play uno but most stay seated watching the soccer game that is on the screen.

I pull out my phone and I text the A+ group chat.

who's down to play me in slap jack?!

I'll watch, I don't wanna break a nail....

I lock my phone while setting it on the table.

A few moments later and everyone is sitting down around me.

I shuffle the cards and I do a bridge type of thing that my mom taught me.

"Woah!" LaMelo says in shock. "Do that again!"

I raise an eyebrow at him.

"Do what again?" I asked confused.

"Shuffle the cards again!" LaMelo says. "Y'all look at her shuffle!"

I shuffle the cards again and everyone looks at me like I've just eaten fire or something.

"Do you guys not know how to shuffle like that or something?" I asked while shuffling the cards once more.

I begin to pass the cards out and LaMelo shakes his head.

"Do you secretly work at a Casino because you shuffle fast as hell and you pass the cards out like a pro?" Tracy asked.

I giggle.

"No, I don't work at a Casino,"

Mr.Servell looks at us and shakes his head.

After school me and Jose make our way to a nearby burger place.

I only order a drink and Jose orders a meal with a burger and a drink.

"I have an order made for Jose! Jose! Jose!" The worker yells.

Jose gets out of his seat and grabs a tray with food on it.

He makes his way back to me and he gives me a warm smile.

"I don't know if I can read this right here, it's kinda small," Jose states while handing me the receipt.

"Hm," I look at the receipt and I glance at Jose.

"What am I supposed to be looking for?" I asked.

"It's the tiny letters at the bottom..." Jose trails off.

"Do you..." I read squinting my eyes.

"Want to..." I read again.

"Be my," I look at Jose.

"Why do I have to read this? It's a receipt from a burger stand!" I complain.

"Just read it! I promise it's worth it!" Jose states while taking a sip of his drink.

"Okay fine, is the last word girlfriend?" I asked while grabbing a fry and popping it in my mouth.

Jose shakes his head yes.

"Put it all together,"

"Do you want to be my girlfriend?" I state totally unaware of what I'm saying.

"Do you?" Jose asked as he grabs a fry and puts it in his mouth.

"Hm?" I asked with an eyebrow raised.

"Come on Daya, I know you're smarter than that," Jose places a hand behind his neck as his face turns a light shade of red.

"I'm so confused as to what's happening right now!"

I know I'm acting like a typical blonde from every movie but I'm my defense, I want to hear Jose ask me the question directly.

"W-will you be my girlfriend, Zendaya?" Jose asked.

I nod my head smiling a bit.

"Yeah," I smirk. "I guess you're good enough,"

Jose laughs.

"Wow," Jose states while holding out the w.

"Haha I'm kidding, I'd love to be your girlfriend!"

I grab his hand and he smiles harder at me.

"Good because if you would have said no I'd be sad," Jose let's out another chuckle.

"Crybaby," I look at him and he smirks at me.
