The car ride home was silent.

The only thing the could be heard was the faint music playing in the background.

"Here we are," Jose says while placing his car in park and turning off the engine.

"Thank you for today, I had fun!" I glance at Jose who is already looking at me.

"It was no problem," Jose opens his car door.

He walks over to my side of the car and opens my door for me.

I get out of the car and Jose walks me to my front door.

The porch light is on and I know my mom is waiting up for me.

"So," I kick my foot awkwardly. "This is goodbye,"

"I guess it is," Jose gets ready to turn around and leave but I grab his hand.

"Wait," I look Jose in his eyes and he looks back at me.

"What's up?" He asked while facing me.

"When can we do this again?" I asked.

"Whenever you want to, just let me know when you're free,"

Jose gets ready to walk away but he turns back and gives me a hug.

"Okay I'm gonna go now, I don't want your mom to hate me for keeping you out late," Jose kisses my check before running back to his car.

I open my door waving at Jose one last time before stepping inside.

Once inside, I see my mom sitting down on the couch.

"Hey Zendaya," my mom says in a singsong voice.

"Hi Mom?"

Why is she so happy?

My mom skips over to me and I look at her with an eyebrow raised.

"What's up?"

"Was that him?" My mom asked with excitement in her voice.

"Um, yeah...why?"

"He's a little cutie!" My mom squeals. "He's no LaMelo but he's cute too!"

I roll my eyes as my mom mentions LaMelo.

"Yeah he is cute." I pause for a second as I glance at my mom. "You're obsessed with LaMelo, why don't you have him?"

"First of all no, that's your future manz!"

I scoff.

"No he isn't...LaMelo is a dumb ass little immature boy who doesn't know how to handle simple feelings!"

"Jesus! What did he do to you?"

I shake my head.

"I don't want to talk about it, just know that he probably won't be around too often,"

"Is it because him and Jose are best buddies and he stole his girl?" My mom questions me.

"What's up with everyone calling me his girl?" I asked. "I'm not his girl!"

"I'm sorry," my mom says while putting her hands up in surrender.

"You're fine I just-"

My phone vibrates in my pocket and I grab it while looking at the phone screen.

"Who is it?" My mom asked.

"It's. LaMelo..."
