Jose and I sit on the blanket for a while longer and I hear my stomach growl.
"Want me to go get you a hot dog?" Jose asked.
I look at him and I smile.
"That would be nice, thank you!"
"No problem!" Jose jumps up and runs towards the hostess who is grilling hot dogs on a campfire.
I feel someone sit next to me.
I look over and see LaMelo sitting there next to me.
There is a silence that fills the air.
LaMelo looks like he wants to say something.
Silence fills the air once again but then LaMelo speaks.
"So, you and Jose?" He asked while shoving me playfully.
I look at him and I roll my eyes.
"You and Clarissa...?"
"...Are just friends," he says. "We've been friends since elementary school, you know that right?"
"Yes,"
No...
"Why do you seem so jealous?" LaMelo asked.
"I'm not- I'm not jealous!"
"That's not what it seems like," LaMelo says with a smirk.
"Oh yeah?" I asked rolling my eyes again. "Maybe you should just cool your ego down a bit,"
"My ego?" LaMelo laughs.
"Yes your ego!" I say louder than I expected to.
This boy is irritating the fuck out of me.
Jose walks up to us and he looks from me to LaMelo.
"Am I interrupting something?" Jose asked while handing me my hotdog.
"No," I pause while looking LaMelo dead in the eyes.
"He was just leaving,"
LaMelo opens his mouth to say something but nothing comes out his mouth.
He shakes his head and walks away.
