《Adopted By Ariana Grande》Bad News

I stare at the message for about 3 minutes before i reply.
Bella: I'm sorry who's this?
Unknown number: Ian
I froze at the last message. Ian? I knew that it was Ian from today but why would he be texting me? I decided i would text him back later.
"Ariana where are we going for dinner tonight?" I yell out.
"Umm it's up to you babe!"
"Mkay i'll let you know later"
My phone started ringing and no caller ID showed up on the screen. I answered it.
Ariana: Hello?
Unknown: Hi Ariana it's Chloes mum.
Ariana: What's up is everything okay?
Chloes mum: No....Chloes in hospital.
Ariana: What? Why? What happened?
Chloes mum: S-she got kicked in the ribs when she was playing soccer and now her rib cage is broken and one of the bones has punctured her lungs.....They don't know if she'll make it.
Ariana: I'm so sorry. I'm getting on the next plane to California.
I hung up and my heart melted. Poor Chloe is all i could think. I kept replaying the saddness in her mums voice over and over again in my head.
Bella walked in and saw me crying. She raced over and started comforting me.
"Ari what's wrong?"
"Go pack your stuff I'll explain everything on the plane." I managed to get out.
Bella went upstairs and started packing her suitcase. I did the same and in 30 minutes we were ready to go. I was still upset when we got in the limo but i wasn't crying.
"Simon go straight to the airport." I said and i sounded snappy.
"Ariana please tell me what's happening"
"Okay babe"
I tried my best to stop shaking but it didn't really work.
"Chloe was playing soccer and she broke her rib cage and one of her bones punctured her lungs......t-t-they don't know if she's going to make it"

I barely got the last part out.
My heart sunk down into my stomach and I felt like I had to throw up. A tear ran down my cheek and I hugged Ariana for the rest of the trip to the airport.
"It's okay baby we'll get through this as best as we can."
We got to the airport and got on the next flight to California. Ariana and I must of looked like a mess but we didn't care. I saw Ari texting Chloes mum telling her that we were boarding the plane and would be there in an hour and a half.
I couldn't bare to stand the thought of Chloe been gone. I tried to think of it as little as possible and soon enough i had fallen asleep.
☁☁☁☁☁☁☁☁☁
When I woke up the plane had just landed and Ariana still had a distorted look on her face. We raced off the plane as fast as we possibly could and caught a taxi to the hospital.
We arrived and took out our suitcases from the boot and paid the taxi. I raced behind Ariana to the front desk of the hospital.
"Hi where here to see Chloe Grande" Ariana started and I could see she was using all her strength to try and stay calm.
"She's in room 6 which is just down the hall on your left"
Ariana and I practically bolted to the room. When we entered I saw Chloe on the bed asleep and her mum beside her holding her hand.
Ariana ran over to Chloes mum and hugged her. I walked over to the other side of Chloe and kissed her forehead.
"How's she doing?" I asked.
"She just came out of surgery. The nurses said things aren't looking to good"

Her mums eyes started to fill with tears and so did Arianas. I leant over the side of the bed and gave Chloe a hug trying to be as careful as possible.
"M-m-mum?"
I heard a voice from under me. Chloe was awake! A warm smile came across her mums face as she heard Chloes voice.
"It's okay baby were all here" Chloes mum ushered her.
Chloe groaned in pain everytime she breathed. I jumped up alerted, ready to call a nurse.
"I'm fine it's just taking sometime to get use to the pain" Chloe said slowly.
Ariana gave her a hug and than walked over to me. She started to whisper to me while she gave me a hug.
"Whatever happens I want you to stay happy"
What was that suppose to mean, I thought. I was to distracted to ask her what it meant so I just nodded my head in agreement.
"I need to go to the bathroom"
Ariana looked at me and guided me to the bathroom. We came out and I could hear the deafening sound of beeping. Ariana pushed through people and ran into Chloes room. I followed. Chloes mum looked up at us tears filling her eyes and sliding down her face.
"She's gone..."

The Exiled Villainess Returns
(Please heed the warnings above before reading) Reborn into the beautiful but deadly world of Ethetia, she comes to a sudden awareness that she is now Livia Katrina Valentine, a character of a game of a reverse harem she once played on Earth called Aster Academy: The Feuding Houses. But this revelation comes a bit too late. You see, Livia wasn't just anyone. She was not given the anonymity of being a background character, or even the blessing of being the heroine. Instead, she has bestowed the role of being the atrocious villainess. And that is exactly what she had been. As a result, Livia triggers her own death flag event at her debutante. Her memories of her past life have the grace to come only minutes before she is accused of poisoning the heroine, Amelia. But all is not helpless. Via last-minute intervention, Livia successfully manages to avoid having her head decapitated. Being exiled was a small price to pay for retaining a pulse. Plus, at least this way, Livia can finally start to live her life, to become more than just a cruel folly. Her exile should have been a new but unusual beginning to her story. But pitiless reality comes knocking. Ethetia had once only been a background setting in a game. A pretty and still picture that mostly went disregarded as the even prettier characters on the screen unloaded their dialogue, but now, it was Livia's world. As real and wonderous as planet Earth once had been, filled with small creatures with their own wills, ambitions, and needs. Such one creature decides that exile was not enough of a penalty. That Livia, the bullish and jealous tormentor of the heroine, deserves a fate more befitting of her past deeds. One worst than death. Livia's fate is ripped out of her hands. She is forced into a collar, sold to an empire rotten with greed, and placed inside a harem where she is expected to wither and die from the inside out. But Livia refuses to be forgotten. Burning with a deep rage against those who only wish to see her fall into her own grave, Livia makes a twisted promise to herself. A promise that pushes her through the darkest moments of her life and brings to light a newfound power rooted deep inside her. So keen to discard her as the villain she has once been, the little creatures in their own ignorance brought forth something they could never dream to fathom. A beacon of darkness.

For those unfamiliar with my writing style, Second Chances was my first attempt at writing. I'm not sure how much I learned in the process, except that readers get angry when you mess with characters they like! Warnings - I tend to info dump. I know I do this, I like slice of life novels that take time to unfold. So don't expect action, murder, and battles in every chapter, it isn't going to happen I prefer the first-person narrative. I will do an occasional POV shift, but it will never be done mid-chapter. I hope you enjoy the story, comments, ratings, and favorites are greatly appreciated!

RED
Valley City. Up until around twenty years ago, it had been a nowhere place. Just a bunch of towns with no real reputation. Now, though, it's known for its progression in medical science. The Medical Technologies Company. It seemed to suddenly appear out of nowhere in the middle of what's now called City Center. Once just a manufacturer and developer of medical equipment, it eventually started to dabble in medical research. Before anyone even knew it, they were the leading research entities, with five seperate buildings in Valley City alone, all towering above everything else in the area. Some say they even swayed the local government into combining the old towns into one city and popularized prosthetic limbs as fashion themselves, but that's just gossip. Matthew Vega. A 25-year-old college dropout, tricked by MediTech into being experimented on under the pretense of participating in a clinical trial for rent money. After being broken out of their facility nearly a year after having her limbs replaced, then having her liberator captured, she seeks a way to dismantle the company or save the one she cares about. NOTE: Currently I am working on a rewrite. I will post a new chapter once that is ready, listed as V2CH-001. I hope you look forward to it.
