《My mother married a Capo》Chapter 48

Bella groaned and massaged her forehead as she tried to concentrate on what the lecturer was saying. Two other weeks had passed since the Fred incident. Still, there was no sign of Volkov. But Bella had no time to worry about him anymore. The end of term exams were coming and she was studying constantly. Mason was not happy a bit about this as she forced him to sleep in another room for a few nights so she can study late. Although Mason managed to convince her to forget about that silly habit of her after three dreadful nights.
Whether because of studying for long hours, sleeping less, or stressing a lot, she was feeling extremely tired and sick starting from last week and today she was more tired than any other day. Her head was pounding a bit and she was feeling a bit nauseous. It was so hard for her to ditch herself from Mason that morning and come to university. She wanted to stick with him all day and lay in his lap.
"Psst, Bella." said Jane, Bella's new friend and elbowed her lightly. "Are you fine?" she asked quietly.
"No." groaned Bella and rubbed her face. "Jane, I'm gonna leave early today." she said as she slowly began to gather her notes. "can I borrow your notes later?"
"Of course." said Jane and smiled warmly. "Take care of yourself and go to a doctor."
"I will. Thanks." said Bella and quickly left the classroom. She began to walk toward the exit while fishing her phone from her bag and began to call Jeremy, her bodyguard to inform him that she was going home early. He was supposed to stay close to the classrooms door.
She stopped before she could hit the call button as a wave of nausea hit her hard. She ran to the nearest bathroom and rushed to one of the stalls and heaved a few times, but thankfully managed to control herself by taking a few deep breaths without throwing up. She sat on the toilet and fisted and unfisted her cold hands trying to gain back her breathing. Her legs felt like jelly and she felt so weak that it was hard for her to even move a limb.
Finally, when she heard someone entering the bathroom and the sound of water running, she stood on her feet and walked out of the stall, only to freeze in her place, looking forward with wide eyes.
There, right in front of her, had stood Vladimir Volkov in light gray Armani suit, washing his hands. "Hello, Bella." his deep husky voice sends shivers down her spine and she began to tremble visibly as he smirked at her through the mirror. "You look like you've seen a ghost. Not happy to see me, beautiful?" He said as he turned off the tab and dried his hands with a few tissues and turned to Bella fully who was just staring at him, unable to think properly.
He took a step toward her which snapped her out of her daze and caused her to take a step back. "Dooonnn't cccooomee clooseer." she stuttered.
"What do you want to do, love?" smirked Volkov. "Shout for your puny gaurds? They are all dead."
Bella's breathing became uneven at the thought of the dead guards. "Shhhhhh" said Volkov as he took another step forward and gently hugged the trembling woman in his arms. "Don't be scared, Bella. I'm not gonna hurt you, not now." he said as he took out a device and began to move it around Bella's body as he kept her in his arms.

The device began beeping around her neck and Volkov hummed in satisfaction as he unclasped her necklace. "Now be a good girl and call your boyfriend for me." he said as he put the necklace and the device in his pocket.
Bella shakily pulled out her phone and called Mason. A little warmth ran in her body at hearing her love's deep voice in her ear. "Hi, love. Miss me already to call me between your class time?" said Mason.
"Mason!" Bella choked on a sob.
"Bella!" said Mason, his voice alert now. "What's wrong? Why are you crying?"
Volkov took the phone from Bella and put it on his ear, pulling Bella to his chest and rubbing her back slowly. "Good morning, Mason." he said and silence fell on the other side of the phone.
"I swear to God, if you touch a strand of hair on her head, I will burn you alive, Volkov." growled Mason on the other side of the phone, venom laced with each word.
"Don't be worried." said Volkov and he looked down at the weak woman in his arms who was about to faint. "She intrigues me so much. I won't hurt her if you do exactly as I say."
"I will tear you to shreds." roared Mason and Volkov's eyebrows raised and he smirked amused as he heard the sound of things breaking on the other side of the phone.
His face became deadly serious. "I will send you an address." he said. "Be there in an hour. Come alone or I will kill her after showing her a bit of my mafia side. And let me say, rape will be the kindest thing she will be facing."
He then ended the call as Bella released herself from his hold only to run back into the stall and this time threw up her guts. Volkov walked into the stall as well and pulled back her hair and rubbed her back and she throw up constantly as she smelled his cologne.
"Come, wash your mouth, and then we should go." said Volkov after a few seconds that Bella stopped heaving and there was nothing more to throw up. He throw her necklace and phone into the toilet and flushed them.
He dragged her almost limp body toward the sink and helped her to wash her mouth before dragging her toward the door of the bathroom. He stopped right before opening the door. "Now listen well, Bella." he whispered sternly in Bella's ear. "We are going out now, but don't you dare to make a scene or I swear to kill anyone who comes in my way in this fucking building and their blood will be on your hands. Do you understand, love?"
"Good." he said and kissed her ear as she nodded her head weakly and opened the door and walked out while having an arm around her waist to prevent her from falling on the ground. He nodded for his right hand Andy who had stood behind the door and they walked toward the exit.
Every ounce of energy left Bella's body as Volkov pushed her into a car and slid in beside her. She hated herself for not being able to even struggle to free herself. But it was not in her hands. Her body simply didn't have the energy to even utter a word and soon darkness engulfed her.

Mason had sat in his office in the company building, going through some papers with Rich and Ben. But his mind was with his brunette angel who was so reluctant to let him go that morning. He was worried as well. She looked pale and weak recently. He was going to ask Rich to check her up tonight. He doesn't like how she was putting herself under pressure to study when he was sure she could pass her exams easily even without killing herself like that. If he could, he would lock her in their room until Volkov was dealt with. But he couldn't lock her and she was so adamant to finish that university term so he had no choice other than to let her go with at least 10 guards accompanying her everywhere. A smile tugged at the corner of his lips remembering the cute pout on her lips all the way to the university that morning.
"Okay, I can't take it anymore." said Ben as he slammed shut the folder he was reading and looked at Mason. "Spit it out. What's going on in that shitty mind of yours?"
"Nothing." said Mason and looked at his papers again.
"Nothing my ass. You are smiling at yourself like a fucking moron since you have come this morning." said Ben. "Tell me what's happening. I want to be prepared."
Rich snorted and the other two looked at him. He looked at Mason who was glaring at him threatening him silently with his eyes. "Don't you dare Rich." snarled Mason.
Rich smirked smugly and looked at Ben. "He bought it yesterday." he said.
Ben's eyes grew wide and his head turned to Mason so fast that he could get whiplash. "Show me." he said eagerly and clapped his hands and his eyes shone like a child who was offered a bar of chocolate.
Mason tried to look stern but a smile fought its way to his lips. He pulled out a maroon velvet box from his drawer and opened it. There between the black velvet inside of the box had laid a gold band with diamonds on top of it, shining proudly under the light.
"So your gonna ask her?" asked Ben and looked at Mason happily.
"I'm gonna ask her out tomorrow and then propose her there." nodded Mason. "That is why I was out alone a lot recently. I was preparing everything. I want everything to be perfect."
"Man, I'm so happy for you." said Ben as he patted Mason's back, but couldn't contain himself to not add smugly. "Although you don't deserve her a bit."
Mason growled and swat Ben's hand away just as his phone began to vibrate on the table. Bella's name appeared on the screen which caused him to smile again.
"Speaking of the angel." chuckled Ben and raised his hands as Mason glared at him. "I said angel, not demon. Don't kill me."
Mason rolled his eyes before answering his phone. "Hi, love. Miss me already to call me between your class time?" said Mason teasingly. His smile faded instantly as he heard her sobbing on the other side. "Mason!" she choked on a sob.
"Bella!" said Mason alert and he stood. "What's wrong? Why are you crying?"
His heart skipped a beat and he froze as he heard Volkov's voice next. "Good morning, Mason."
Ben and Rich were now standing alert. Any sarcasm faded from their faces as they stared at Mason who paled visibly. It was the first time in their lives that they saw Mason pale.
"I swear to God, if you touch a strand of hair on her head, I will burn you alive, Volkov." growled Mason, venom laced with each word. His blood boiled with anger and he began to shake from fury at the thought of his Bella in the hands of the ruthless crazy man.
Ben quickly took out his phone and began to call Bella's guards, now understanding what was going on.
"Don't be worried." said Volkov. "She intrigues me so much. I won't hurt her if you do exactly as I say."
Ben walked back to the table and shook his head at Mason. None of her guards had picked up their phones meaning that all were dead or knocked out cold, and knowing Volkov the first option was more probable. "I will tear you to shreds." roared Mason and threw everything on his table on the ground.
Rich quickly walked to his laptop and began to trace her necklace signals.
"I will send you an address." said Volkov seriously. "Be there in an hour. Come alone or I will kill her after showing her a bit of my mafia side. And let me say, rape will be the kindest thing she will be facing."
Mason threw his phone at the wall and watch it smash into pieces and he shouted angrily.
"Her tracker's signals come from the university building." said Rich his face was worried sick.
"The bastard must have cornered her there." seethed Mason and walked to his phone's pieces and grabbed his sim card.
"What did he said?" asked Ben with a dead serious face.
"He wants me to meet him somewhere in an hour alone." answered Mason as he put the sim card in another phone he grabbed from his drawer and turned it on. He tried to keep his face emotionless as always but his whole body was shaking with pure hot anger. He turned and punched the wall behind him repeatedly. None of the two other men dared to stop him. The skin of his knuckles burst open and blood ran on his hands. He leaned his forehead on the wall and cursed under his breath. The thought of what Bella was going through right then was killing him. She was in that problem because of him.
A message popped into his phone. It was an address. He quickly opened the map on his phone and located the address. It was somewhere between woods in a place of an abandoned carpentry workshop. He snatched his coat from the back of his seat and walked to the door.
"You don't consider going alone, do you?" asked Rich as he followed his brother and Ben out of the office and toward the elevator. The three men ignored all of the shocked stares that the employers were giving them as they walked outside of the office.
"I have a plan." growled Mason dangerously and pushed the ground floor button. His eyes were lit with the fire of vengeance. "I will burn him alive."
