《My mother married a Capo》Chapter 2

"So, you are basically screwed." said Logan one of Alison's best friends. She was currently sitting in the cafeteria with her three best friends, Logan, Ashley, and Edward.
Alison grunted in response. She had put her head on the table and her arms were idly hanging on both sides of her.
"But, you are only being dramatic." said Logan while stuffing his face with food. He had an odd passion for food. A sarcastic, energetic boy who was smiling almost all the time. He was 6 feet tall and had a well-built body after playing basketball for so many years. His tan skin with his dark brown hair had given him even more good looks, making girls drooling over him all the time.
Alison's head shoot up and she glared at him which obviously didn't bother him a bit. "Dramatic???" she scoffed. "Were you even listening to anything I said?" she almost yelled frustrated and threw her arms in the air, earning a few stares from other students around them.
"Shhhhh," said Ashley while rubbing Alison's back, trying to comfort her friend. "Okay, you better shut it, L. Can't you see she doesn't feel good?" she said sternly. Ashley was definitely the peacekeeper between the four of them. Her shoulder-length blond hair was matched with her green eyes and pale skin perfectly, giving her an angelic face, but she could become a devil if she wanted.
"What?" said Logan. "Her new dad is rich and has saved them from their debts. She can have anything she wants." he said defensively and that earned a smack to the back of his head from Edward.
"You know what kind of a girl she is and you say this shit about her." said Edward. His deep voice was quiet and mysterious. Out of all of them, he was the most quiet one, not talking unless he was forced and only his three friends knew the reason behind it. His dark curly hair that was messy all the time, along with his sharp dark blue eyes and 5-hour shadow on his face had all the girls falling at his feet. With 6'1 feet height and muscular body which had been made with so many hours in the gym, he was counted as one of the most buff boys of the school, but again only his circle of friends knew what a teddy bear he could be.
"but this deepshit is not so wrong, Alie." said Ashley. "It's not like you are leaving the country. You are just moving to the other side of the city."
"But that's not the problem, Ash." whined Alison. "I should leave everything I love behind. I will be away from you guys so much."
"No matter how much you are far, Al, You will be always our friend." said Edward with a reassuring smile.
"yup!" said Logan. "We will still hang out on weekends no matter what. You can't get rid of us that easily, cutie pie."
Alison cringed at hearing the nickname that Logan had called her for years to tease her.
"You are not going to lose us, Alie." said Ashley reassuringly. "We are inseparable. We have been together since kindergarten through thick and thin."
Alison looked at her three best friends. They were her strength when she needed it the most. All of them were giving her reassuring smiles which warmed her heart.
"For now just take care of your mother and yourself." said Edward as he leaned back on his chair with his arms crossed. "She deserves happiness, but you should be careful as well. And remember we will there for you no matter what whenever you need us."

Alison smiled as well. Hot tears gathered in her eyes. She was so goddamn lucky to have friends like them. "Thank you, guys." she whispered and her voice cracked. "I love you so much."

"You are home." Eva squealed and jumped from the sofa, as Alison opened the door and walked into home after school.
"Calm down, mum." she said softly and walked to her mother, kissing her forehead and hugging her tight. "I'm sorry if I made you worried."
Eva kissed Alison's temple and hugged her tighter, tears of relief were threatening to fall. "It's alright, honey." she whispered. "You have every right to be angry with me. I should have not kept it a secret."
Alison pulled away and smiled at her. Her tears were falling as well. both were sniffling. "Let's not talk about what has passed." she said with a smile. "I just love you so much, mum. I don't want to see you sad again. And if that man really makes you happy, I will accept him as well."
Eva cupped Alison's cheeks with her hands and peppered her face with kisses. "Thank you, Alie." she said happily. "I assure you he will be a good father for you as well. You will love them all."
"Okay." said Alison as she wiped her eyes. "We have a wedding in few days and we should move into their house. We have lots of things to do."
The weekend came sooner than expected and Alison's nerves were skyrocketing. Everything was a mess around the house. Boxes were piled in corridors and rooms. Much to Alison's relief, they weren't going to hold a big wedding, just she and her mother with her new stepfather and his sons. Although they seemed to be so famous, Alison had refused to search about them, wanting to face the trouble at once and spare herself from more stress.
They had only packed their personal belongings like clothes, books, private things and ... for they didn't need any other thing in their new home.
"And you are done, our beautiful bride." chripped Alison and she curled the last piece of Eva's hair. "Now I will add the last piece for the sake of the groom." she said and grabbed a fork clip made of white gold adorned with diamonds shaped like flowers covering its top from its black velvet box. Albert, her stepfather had sent it for Eva as a gift and had asked her to put it for the wedding. Certainly, It should have cost him a fortune.
Alison pulled back the front strands of Eva's hair and secure them with the clip on the back of her head. She then stared at her mother's reflection in the mirror and smiled. "God, you look gorgeous. I think Albert will faint." she chuckled at the last part.
Eva blushed adorably and bit her bottom lip. She felt like a teenager, not a woman in her mid-forties. Indeed she looked very beautiful. The light makeup that Alison had expertly applied had brought out her blue eyes beautifully. She had put on a long silky dress with long sleeves and had put on a diamond necklace, another gift from Albert. She looked like an angel,
"Okay, now off you go." said Alison and shooed her out of her room. "I have less than an hour to become a bridesmaid so I should hurry. Go and add your perfume. I trust you to put on your heels without ruining my masterpiece."

Eva giggled. "Okay, ma'am." she said. "I try my best."
Alison chuckled and closed the door of her room. Her smile dropped instantly and she leaned her forehead on the door. She was dying of worry. Her inside was a mess. She had put on the mask of a brave girl all the week, but deep down she was a nervous wreck. Even talking with Bella and her friends and hearing their reassurings couldn't calm her down. Bella had found out about the wedding the day after Eva had told Alison. Her reaction was so different than Alison's. She had said that she was happy for her mother, but she couldn't come to the wedding much to Alison's discomfort. She had to face that dreading event alone.
"Come on, Alison." Alison whispered to herself. "You can do this. You should do this for mum. toughen up, girl."
Finally after a few minutes of reassuring herself, she ditched herself from the door and walked to her small vanity while pulling off her shower hat. After blow-drying her long hair, she pulled her hair into a neat bun. She finalized her makeup with mascara and pink lipstick and then turned to her bed where she had laid her dress.
Her strapless long pastel pink dress that she had bought a month ago had saved her from shopping, although now she could understand why her mother was so eager to buy it for her.
She put the dress on, applied a bit of the perfume her friends had bought for her birthday and stood in front of the mirror, and gave herself a pat on the back from what she was seeing. She looked beautiful. Hopefully, she could make a good first impression in front of her new family. She wasn't caked with makeup but she was naturally beautiful and doesn't need it at all. Her dress was fitted on top and was flowing from just under her butt with a long slit coming to her mid-tight. A golden chain with a heart shaped pendant which was a gift from her mother for her 12th birthday was proudly shining around her neck.
After taking a few deep breathes and whispering a few encouraging words she put on her nude heels and looked around her old bedroom for the last time. A tear threatened to come, but she held herself in fear of ruining her makeup.
It was a small room, but it was her room for fifteen years. First, she should share it with Bella but as she moved to England, Alison had claimed the room for hers. She could easily remember two little girls cuddling under the blankets giggling to themselves while reading comic books. She was going to miss it. She was going to miss this place that she had called home for as long as she could talk, rooms full of memories, good and bad.
With a long sigh, she put all of her things in a bag and headed downstairs. Just as she reached there she heard a knocking on the front door. She looked at her watch. Precisely on time, she thought.
Albert was supposed to send someone to take them to the church. Alison opened the door and her eyes met the broad chest clad with a crisp white shirt and black suit jacket, hiding a very muscular body beneath. She slowly raised her head only to see the most scary man she had ever seen in her life. His very short hair was light brown and his eyes was covered with a pair of sunglasses. His hands were clasped in front of him and his legs were a bit parted. His face was stone cold and his lips were a thin line. "Good morning, miss." he said, his voice was deep and cold like his face.
Alison screeched and shut the door in the man's face. She pressed her back on the door, opening her arms wide trying to cover it with her slim body, like she could stand a second if the two-meter buff man outside would try to break in. "MUM!!" she shouted just as the man knocked again, this time louder, and soon the sound of hurrying sound of the clicking of heels was heard from stairs.
"Alison!" Eva yelled as her frantic eyes found her daughter. "What's wrong?" she asked, her expert eyes assessing her body for any injuries.
"Th-There issss a giantttt aaattt fronttt door." stuttered Alison.
"Let me see." said Eva as she pulled Alison behind her protectively and opened the door. Her tense body relaxed at the sight of the man and a warm smile found its way to her face. "Gino." she said greeting the man and opening the door more to let the man come in.
"Good morning, Mrs. King." nodded the man politely and he walked inside of the room.
Alison peeked from behind her mother. "It's alright, honey." said Eva reassuringly and took her hand. "This is Gino, Albert's head of security. Gino, this is my daughter Alison."
"Nice to meet you, miss." said Gino, keeping his stone-cold face all the time. Alison nodded her head fearfully, fully understanding why he was the head of security. Only his appearance was enough to give any culprit a heart attack.
"I will accompany you to the church," said Gino to Eva. "A few of my men will stay here to move your stuff."
"Thank you." said Eva and then pointed to a stack of boxes in a corner. "Only those boxes and that small piano next to them should be moved."
"Please follow me." said Gino politely and showed the door.
"Oh just let us take our clutches. Alie!" she said and brought Alison out of her trance. She nodded quickly. Soon both women followed Gino out of the house. A slick black limo was parked in front of the house with two SUVs in front and back of it. A few curious neighbors have gathered around, watching the expensive cars in awe which cost more than their lives all together.
Two other scary men in black suits just like Gino were standing in front of the car, glaring at the people. Alison's jaw almost reached the ground at the sight of the cars as well. She knew her stepfather was rich, but how fucking much???!!!
Soon they were in the luxurious car. Alison was looking around her with wide eyes while Eva was not bothered by it at all. She had become ajusted after four months.
The ride to the church was quiet. Alison's heart was almost jumping out of her chest. Her palms were sweating. Was her new super rich family ever accept her at all?? Would they not threw her out after the wedding?? Would they ...
Her train of thoughts were cut off short, as the limo pulled over in front of a big church. Gino opened the door for Eva and Alison. Eva gave one last reassuring smile to Alison before slipping out of the car.
Here goes nothing. Thought Alison as she followed her mother out of the car.
