《Marrying the Capo》Chapter Sixteen

A man watches Nicolas and Fiona smiling on TV where they were in front of the church.
He smiled when he saw what Nicolas did. He didn't expect this. Wondering why Ms. Evans isn't next to Nicolas but some bitch.
He took the glass with rum then brought it to his lips and sipped a little. The smirk still lingered on his lips. "It should be Cassandra Evans. Not some filthy whore model who looks like a clown. So, this is your game. He doesn't want the people to know who his wife really is or is he hiding something else?" He laugh at that thought. "What a clever."
He placed the glass on the table then stood up on the chair. He poured another rum and then went to the door with the glass in his hand.
Leaving the room the two guards bowed to the man but he just continued walking until he reached a hall where he could see some pictures and portraits of Cassandra.
He took the glass to his mouth and then drunk the rum straight while staring at Cassandra's pictures.
"You're so beautiful, baby. My beautiful lady."
"Boss. All the transaction was held accordingly. Everything went without a hitch but some of De Luca's men infiltrate the warehouse." The man looked at his staff.
"Did they get important information?"
"No Boss. We shift all the guns and drugs to the safest place." The man smiled.
"Good. Now, I'll have you do something new." He gave a picture to his staff. "Bring her to me. Unharmed."
The staff bowed before it left. His gaze returned to the large picture of Cassandra in the center. "We'll meet soon, baby. I'll be holding you someday just stay where you are and I'm going to get you. You'll be mine forever and no one can take you away from me. Even you're part of the De Luca Family I won't hurt you because you're so important to me. My angel. My world and my soul. No one will stop me even Nicolas, I won't stop myself from getting you. " The man laughed and it echoed inside the hall.

The Glyph Queen
When Winnie was thirteen, her settlement taught her how to fire a rifle. Her school practiced drills in case raiders came, and the town grew crops in their greenhouse-adapted homes, which were the only places warm enough during the worldwide nuclear winter. The Lakiran empire invades—a corporate-born nation overseen by their corporate-born queen, Victoria Paladino. They ride silent planes whose repulsion field veered bullets away. Three years of occupation later, an exemplar visits—a member of Victoria’s oversight committee rumored to read minds. He tells Winnie that she may have a unique mental power, or a flair. At the empire’s capital, the queen herself tutors Winnie to help her reach the full potential of whatever power she may have. Meanwhile, in post-war Nigeria, a streetwise teenager named Naema sees a different side of the empire. Between corruption and oppression, everyone lives in squaller. People fight over assembled food pastes. She too is told she has a unique flair, not by the empire, but by a fugitive woman who is the last vestige of an ancient witch coven, and she knows a dark secret about what the exemplars do to people like Winnie and Naema. Updates every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The most recent chapters of The Glyph Queen are available on its main website.

Join our main character as he dives into the world of Merusia and experiences an isekai adventure that wasn't quite what he expected. Disclaimer: This story is a novel for me to practice, it has no real plot whatsoever. I want to make this story a heartwarming slice of life one. I wish this would warm your hearts.

Shadows in the Dawn Mist
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] - Winner November 2020 When a young woman is lured back to her homeland for the opportunity of a life time, she must face old fears. But never would she think that facing up to her past would change everything. Is History written by the victors, or by someone or something else...? *** I started writing this a few years ago and eventually fell out of love with it. I never finished it and my newer books are being written in different writing style, and genre with a more planned process. I decided to revisit it for the writathon and found that it wasn't as hopeless as I'd come to think. Hopefully, I've improved as a writer since them so the consistency may vary. Its been good to revisit and analyse my writing which I feel used to have some clunky and obvious dialogue which I'm trying to fix. This will always be my first novel and I hope, with a little exposure, I may come to like it again. Thanks for reading!

Afterward, he finds himself having become a Dungeon Core in another dimension, with no clue what he is doing. Fortunately, he has a dungeon fairy to guide him and a couple of friends who managed to come along for the ride. What follows is a journey that will forever change their new world in ways that nobody saw coming. --- Updates Sundays. --- Helpful comments, reviews, and general error checking would be much appreciated. --- Author's Note: Three of the four main characters of this story are all important side characters from a story that I haven't written yet as my skills as an author are not yet up to the task. However, I do have enough of the story nailed down that no changes I make in that story should affect this one. That said, the purpose of this story is to both practice my writing and to generally have fun with my characters and the world around them.
