Chapter 29
It's the best day of the year.
If there was again Bethan loves more than free booze, Justin Bieber and art it was being in charge. She relished in the power of being the one making the call so when it's time to plan prom she couldn't wait. Prom was her type of thing she knew who to charm, when the punch bowl would be spiked and one thing in definite she would win queen.
The girls Where to scared to vote for someone else and the guys all vote for the girl they'd love to bang I.e Bethan Gilbert. Her and Caroline was at the school. Everyone was gathered around her as gave out her orders.
"We will be spilt into three different committees. Electrical, Decorational and consumable. Electrical will take care of any thing that has to do with the photographer, the slide show and setting up the screens out side, the disco ball the light and the playlist for the D.J." Bethan read of the list of people assigned to that.
"next we have decorational. Setting up tables, the chairs, covering it, having the stage streamers, working with the ETs to create the prom pic background I want that red carpet ironed and to be perfect" once again informing who would be on that part
"and finally our consumable. You will be in charge of setting up the drinks fountain ice sculptures, all the food approve the menu I want the table set up normal, vegetarian then vegan" there was still a few people who have not been called out.
"You peopled will be with Caroline under maintenance I want to make sure nothing can go wrong tonight okay" everyone spilt off and she pulled April back.
"You are in charge of king and queen I want those crowns to sparkle and April not one finger mark on them" before her phone vibrated in her pocket for what seemed to be the millionth time. Bethan looked through her phone seeing a million messages from klaus. She silently groaned and headed to the Mikaelson manor.
Bethan walked in shouting for klaus.
"I got your fifty bajillion messages. This better be life and death." She yelled out when she heard a quite murmur.
"Go away." His voice barely audible.
""Klaus? Where are you?" Bethan looked around until she finds Klaus shirtless sitting on the floor, leaning on a piano seat. She enters the room. Her eyes widened at the sight.
"wow What happened to you?" The brunette questioned. Klaus turned to her.
"I need more time. Stop hounding me!" He yelled. Bethan was taken back slightly by this before her face turned to stone.
"I'm hounding you? I'm supposed to be running three different prom committees right now and you keep phone stalking me." She exclaimed throwing her arms up into the air.
"bethan" his voice perked up. The hybrid sat up look at the brunette.
"Is it really you?" He asked Well more like begged she'd never seen klaus in such a state. Bethan was beyondsurprised. As the hybrid struggles and pulls himself onto the piano seat and leans back against the piano. His voice turned dark.

"Prove it to me." The teen girl rolled her eyes.
"Okay, I don't know if this is some new way of flirting, but it sucks, and I have more important things to do." Bethan turned around and starts to leave. When klaus stopped her.
"Wait, please. Silas. He stabbed me with the white oak stake." Bethan turned around to look at him.
"There's a-- a piece of it stuck inside me." He informed her and Bethan's green eyes widened.
"Why would Silas attack you?" The werewolf questioned tilting her head.
"Well, I was in no position to ask questions. Suffice it to say, I'm hurt. So you can understand why I called you." Finally jumping to the chase and Beth laughed softly.
"You ran Tyler out of town, you killed his mother, you nearly killed my best friend more than once, you indirectly killed my father, you did kill my aunt and Elena not to mention you tried to have my brother killed and you think I'm the person to call for help?" Bethan was in complete shock he actually called her.
"If I die, caroline, elena, all of your friends die with me." Klaus simply reminded her. The Gilbert girl thought for a moment and then walks closer to klaus. She huffed.
"What do you want me to do?" Knowing he was right and if he dies she's looses the last of her family.
"Well, it's quite simple, really. I need you to cut the stake out of me." He spoke to her like a Child, Klaus looked down at a pair of bloody pliers lying on the rug. Bethan looked down at them, perturbed.
Beth picks up the pliers and Klaus is bracing himself against the piano while Bethan pushed the them in to his back, she watched as he gripped the piano but the brunette continued to use the pair of pliers to try to dig out the white oak stake.
"Oh, my god." She spoke out of shock and klaus thought she had found the stalk.
"You do have a heart." Klaus yells in pain through gritted teeth as Beth moved the pliers in his back.
"Oops my bad. It's just a bloody rib." She slightly chuckled making klaus snap at her.
"Well I'm glad you're finding my misery so amusing." He spoke out to her Beth rolled her eyes at him.
"Ugh, I swear there's nothing in here. And if you think I'm having fun, you're insane." The green eyed Gilbert replied rolling her eyes for what seemed like the millionth time today
"You took part in the killing twelve witches for your friend Bonnie. You can't even get your hands a little dirty for me? Here I thought we were becoming friends." Klaus mocked hurt
"Well, Guess you thought wrong." She replied. She digs a little deeper into Klaus' back. He yells in pain and starts slamming his hand on the piano top.

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry. I'm sorry- You know what?" Bethan spoke She yanks the pliers out of his back and he yells in pain.
"I'm not sorry. You deserve to suffer for everything that you've done. So today, we're gonna do things my way. You want my help? You let Tyler come back to town, and give me your word that you will not hurt him." Bethan wanted her friend to have a moment of happiness her and Caroline had been dreaming about prom since they where little girls and Just becuase she didn't have a Prince Charming doesn't mean Caroline can't have hers. Klaus shudders in pain but doesn't respond to her. Bethan walked away from his dropping the pliers.
Bethan is sitting on the sofa looking at her phone while Klaus, propped up on the back of another sofa, is still reaching round at the wound in his back. She heard his cries but ignored making sure everything was going right with prom. Klaus moaned.
"I can feel the splinters moving towards my heart. Help me!" He yelled at the teenager who just sat up.
"Your word first." Beth bargained not moving until he said it.
"And what makes you think I won't simply break my word?" He asked the teen. Beth looked up from her phone
"You wanna be friends? Friendship-Stage One. Show me that I can trust you." That was her idea of a truce for them to get to a good place but I didn't work. klaus slammed his hands down in anger.
"I saved your life...twice." He growled at Bethan who growled back both of their vibrant yellow eyes on show.
"That's Because your the reason it was in danger...twice. Why can't you just do something decent for once?" Bethan was more begging than asking she wanted people to see him do something good so she didn't feel guilty for liking it.
"Because Tyler Lockwood tried to kill me!" He screamed bethan stood up walking over to him.
"We've all tried to kill you. And you've tried to kill most of us. How do you think that you deserve my friendship when you've done nothing to earn it?" She asked him. Klaus stands and approaches Bethan quickly Getting in her face he began to shout.
"I will not have my hand forced by you or anyone else!" And that got Bethan angry.
"What is wrong with you? I'm reaching out to you despite everything that you've done, and you still can't get out of your own way. God! I feel sorry for you." She raised her voice and turned away but Klaus vamp-speeds to block her way.
"Don't turn your back on me!" He practically growled, the way an alpha tries to get his pack to submit but it didn't work.
"I should have turned my back on you ages ago!" She spat at him the two remain silent for a moment.
"It's gone." Klaus was the first to speak.
"What?" Bethan asked confused not understand what he meant.
"The pain." He reached round to his back.
"The-the pain is gone." Something dawned on klaus in that moment.
"It was-it was never there. He got in my head. Silas...got inside my head" He took Bethan's hand giving it a small squeeze.
"You took my mind off it. You brought me back, Bethan" this moment was making feel a bit awkward she slowly took her hand back gently and turns around, bringing her hands to her head and walking a few steps. Before She turns back to Klaus.
"If Silas can make you, of all people, believe that you're dying...what can he do to the rest of us?" Klaus could hear the subtle fear in Bethan's voice. The two stared at each other for a moment
"I'm gonna go wash the you off of my hands" spoke breaking up the tension between them. Bethan reentered the room, wiping her hands on a towel.
"I used all your bleach." She informed klaus and started to walk past The hybrid but he reached out and grabs her arm. Making her turn to him.
"Hey. Thank you for helping me." He smiled at her it was a rare sight seeing the original smile.
"Yeah." Bethan paused awkwardly.
"Well, if you need anything else...don't call me. I have a prom to plan." She told him shoving his chest slightly, klaus let out a small laugh She turns and walks away. Klaus was still smiling.
"Friends, then?" He asked Bethan paused, then turned back round.
"Are you gonna let Tyler come back into town?" She asked again. Klaus' face falls and he doesn't say anything. Bethan shakes her head slightly, then turns away.
"Why do you care so much if I let Tyler come back to town" He was slightly jealous she was doing all this for the hybrid that cheated on her.
"because prom is in two days and me and Caroline have been dreaming of this moment since we were 6 years old Just because I would get my Cinderella night doesn't mean she shouldn't" Beth told him wanting to let her friends have this one night.
"well You might have noticed...I'm not exactly scouring the earth for him, am I?" The small smile returned to klaus' face and Bethan shared the same expression before leaving.
When she got back to her loft she noticed she had a miss call off someone important (U= unknown)
B. Still picking me after the prom
U. You know it, do you have everything ready?
B. Yeah I do.
