Chapter 23
Who knew
⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️
Everyone at school was made to go to this assembly about Carole lockwood, Bethan decided to skip the day of school and do anything but sit there with a bunch of people who just use her to be bait for a person they all hate. Bethan decided to spend the whole day at some dive bar the next town over drinking and dancing, trying to forget the fact nobody cares about what she wants. 48 hours she'd been gone a not one person even thought to look for her, not one call or text the only person who was worried about her whereabouts was none other than Klaus Mikaelson.
The brunette was up on the pool table dancing about with two other girls while the guys cheered them on. Noticing her drink was empty, she hopped off her 'stage' walking over to the bar.
"I haven't see you around here before" a voice behind her spoke the brunette spun around seeing handsome man infront of her.
"I'm just passing through" she smiled turning her attention back to the beer infront of her.
"Looking for a bit of fun?" The stranger asked and Bethan smirked at him.
"If you can keep up" she winked downing her beer slamming the bottle down onto the table.
Before she knew it Bethan was pulled outside of the dive bar by the same random douch he started kissing her neck.
"get off of me" she yelled trying to fight her way out but the 20 something old man wasn't letting. Tears streamed down her face as she begged.
"That's it baby beg Me" the disgusting excuse for a man spoke, he hands move down to her waist trying to fumble with her jeans, that same surge of power flowed through her and she shoved the guy off of her, the idiot flew back smacking his head on the rock. Bethan dropped to the floor scream as every bone in her body twisted a broke, her eyes turning the werewolf yellow and she screamed.
The cracking sounds of her bones could barely be heard over the music in the dirty ridden bar, her cries for help muffled by the people laughing and dance. The brunette watched as her hands started to turn into something that wasn't human, she'd become a beast, a creature people tell monster stories about.
People came out of the bar and the her wolf set her sights on them lowering its body down it pounced into action, the light auburn fair slowing to be covered with blood and Bethan's beast tore through there bodies. It felt like she was in a outer body experience she could see everything that was happening but couldn't stop it, once she tore through those people it wasn't enough the beast within craved more, it wanted to make people aware that it was here and how strong it was.
Bethan was fighting a inner war with her self trying to take control of the beasts body trying to break down the wall. She remembered something klaus had said to her, she was no damsel in distress and she would be damned if she let her self become them.

After the wolf had killed the entire dive bar Bethan waited for it to be distracted as she pushed through the barrier taking control of her self and that's when she took of running. Part of her didn't know where she was going, she was relying on instinct a safe place of understanding but where would she go to get that.
Klaus was ready to visit his sisters home when he opened the door to his house revealing a small female figure covered in blood, the intrigue hybrid leaned doing seeing it was Bethan and his heart stopped, quickly sweeping the brunette in his arms and carrying her inside of the mansion
"please help me" she whispered to him her small bloodied hands gripped onto his shift.
"It's okay I've got you love" he carried Bethan to his room setting her down on the bed ordering one of his many servants to fetch her a robe and run a bath.
"You wanna tell me what happened?" He asked moving towards her but stopped when he watched her flinch.
"I did a bad thing" was all the teen spoke the blank expression on her face as she spoke.
Esme one klaus' more trusting servants told the hybrid everything was ready for her. He picked her up and set her in the bathtubs leaving her with esme to get washed up.
It was safe to say klaus has never worried about someone this much and Bethan walked back into his room in nothing but his shirt and boxers, under any other circumstances he'd smirk at the beautiful site and make a smart remark but not when he saw the fear in her eyes. Klaus began looking her over for any sort of wounds
"the blood it wasn't mine" she whispered lowering her head causing the hybrids heart to break.
"You can tell me love" he rested his hand on her leg and Bethan grabbed keeping a tight hold like her life depended on it.
"I- I was at some sleez-y bar me and-d a few people us-use to go. I was S-so sick of people using me m-making me play bait I just wanted-d to forget" the tears slowly came down her face as she struggled to speak.
"this-s One guy dragged me o-outside telling me- tellingme he was going to make me f-feel good" Bethan grimace at the memory and flashbacks her hands shaking as she spoke.
"he wouldn't l-let got and then this surge of po-power came and I shoved him hard. So hard he- he went flying back and hit his head. I- was going to check if he was okay when- when w" her voice slowly cracked and klaus hugged her trying to get this beautiful strong girl to calm down.
"when what Bethan?" He spoke softly wipping the tears that streamed down her face.
"my bones started to crack and everything started to hurt and brake, my hands didn't look human and then- then I was this beast" klaus' eyes widened Bethan was a werewolf, it explained a lot, the fire she held, her need to be in charge and her undying loyalty to people who have betrayed her.

"these people seemed to be going home and I couldn't stop it. It ran at them tearing them limb from limb, I tired to hard to get it to stop but it would, it want blood, it was angry and it killed everyone in sight" Bethan was fully crying, she began to shake violently and klaus's grip tightened on her trying to calm her down.
"Then I got control and I ran, until I got here". The young girl was now in hysterics as klaus tried to calm her down, eventually it worked,
"why don't you try to get some sleep, while I attend to some thing" he suggest Bethan slowly nodded her head as klaus lifted her under the covers kissing the top of her head.
"Klaus please don't tell anything" Bethan begged not wanting everyone to know she was a monster.
"you have my word" and he meant it nothing was going to hurt that girl, not while he walked the earth.
Bethan woke up a few hours later, digging through klaus' closet to find a pair of sweatpants to make her way home. Walked until she reached her childhome opening the door, as soon as she set her self into the house, she was met by her sister.
"Where the hell have you been" elena yelled at her sister who jumped back in shock.
"we have a crisis going on kol is back in town and wants Jeremy dead" elena informed her causing Bethan to let out a laugh, she thought Elena was actually worried about her.
"oh I'm sorry Jeremy's life is in danger but that fine as long as Bethan got her rocks off with some douche bag of a guy. He's your brother act like you care" once again big sis playing up the victim acted anger bubbled up in Bethan's chest.
"do you know where I was? I haven't even been in town for 2 days Elena" the elder girls eyes widened not even realising her little sister was missing.
"thanks for your phone calls and concerned text, by the way, it really meant a lot while I was on the verge of being raped" Bethan seethed out trying to choke back the tears that threatened to come out.
"wait what?" Elena asked her face dropped hearing the words come out of her mouth.
"don't act worried now sis it's funny I managed to find enough strength to push him off of me, he flew all the way back and hit head died on impact" the newly turned werewolf informed her sister chuckling slightly.
"Oh my god Bethan" elena tried to place a hand on her sister arm only for her to flinch away.
"that's not even the worst part, my bones started to crack, twist and break until I was on the floor screaming, I looked down at my hands but you know what I saw? Paws then I killed 11 people, with no control over it I had to watch it happened while I screamed and begged for this beast I had become to stop, but I didn't stop. Not until I killed everything around it" she finished explaining her face remained straight the entire time scaring Elena.
"are you okay?" The vampire blurted out she couldn't believe bethan had been through all of this.
"don't act like you care, you didn't even know I was gone" Bethan stormed out of the house going to ric's loft that was now her own to get changed.
Something didn't feel right and Bethan went to the Gilbert house hold seeing klaus , Bonnie, Elena and Jeremy.
"Oh my god are you okay?" She exclaimed seeing klaus trapped in her dinning room.
""yeah we're fi-" elena was cut off when Bethan running to klaus hugging him. Klaus tightened his arms around Bethan's waist as her siblings and friends watched what was happening.
"Bethan what the hell are you doing" Jeremy yelled at her he couldn't believe his sister would hug Klaus.
"he just tried to kill us" the hunter replied his arms flying into the air.
"why did he try to do that?" Bethan wondered crossing her arms over her chest.
"because we killed kol, and kol was trying to kill me you know i you bothered enough to be around" Jeremy spat at his sister Bethan stepped away from klaus walking in the frame.
"where have I been exactly Jeremy? I tell you, the night carol lockwood was killed I left to go the old dive bar, that night I was nearly rapped, but I managed to escape by killing him, then I turned into a wolf and killed 11 people all the while you didn't even both to call" Jeremy felt immediately guilty. On Bonnies signal Elena grabbed Bethan and Bonnie knocked her out cold.
Jeremy carried his sister in his arms as the all stood in the Salvatore living room.
"What's wrong with Bethan?" Stefan asked seeing the knocked out Gilbert girl in her brothers arms.
"she's a werewolf" Jeremy said still in shock the brothers shared a look.
"she broke the curse?" Damon questioned staring at his friend curiously, and Elena nodded.
"Two days she was missing and no one realised but klaus" the eldest Gilbert told them staring at her sister with a huge amount of guilt.
"When Bethan turned she ran to klaus, when he stood in our house instead of checking up on Jeremy and Elena she ran straight to klaus why?" Bonnie asked the group it was extremely unusual for the teenager.
"When you turn, you run on instincts, you said klaus was the only one who knew she was missing, she's probably felt abandoned her instincts took her to place she could feel 'safe' and cared for" Tyler explained. Elena dropped next to her sister stroking her head
"she's probably so scared and confused right now, all we've done is yell at her for not being there for our problems, we practically forced into klaus" the doppelgänger commented moving some hair out of her face.
"what do we do now?" caroline asked feeling guilty, her best friend had to go through this alone.
"we take her with us, you need to gain her trust again, and taking her away from klaus might be a smart thing" stefan offered and they were all in agreement.
