Chapter 18
I hate this town
Bethan decided to accompany Jeremy to work, she sat at the bar watching the boys work.
"you could help you know" matt pointed out while Bethan played on her phone.
"that seems like work" Bethan responded, that's when April walked in.
"hey guys I know your not open but I was wondering if you've seen Rebekah?" April asked earning a strange look from both Gilbert's and Matt.
"why would I have seen her?" Matt question tilting his head to the side slightly confused.
"I thought you guys where a thing" that caused Bethan to laugh and Jeremy to try and hide his.
"yeah Mr Mikaelson where is the wife" the Elder Gilbert giggled even more cussing matt to roll his eyes.
"Trust me that's the least of your problems" a new voice stated, the three teens heads shot to connor holder Jeremy with knife at his throat
"let him go" Bethan growled lunging for the hunter only to be pulled back by matt.
"Sit down" the man screamed at them april was freaking out, matt was worried and Bethan was pissed, the hunter threw Jeremy into a chair, and Bethan grabbed her brother's hand
"let april go she doesn't know anything" Jeremy tried to get him to release the innocent girl.
"oh believe me her and her father are both envolved now give me your cellphones" the teens passed them over Bethan glaring at the man as she did.
"you kids need to get some vervain in your systems and not on a bracelet, then maybe you'll remember what happened at the hybrids yesterday" Connor informed the four making the elder Gilbert to sit up straight.
"are you saying someone compelled me?" Jeremy outburst and Bethan squeezed his had to help him calm down.

"compelling?" April asked and Bethan has had enough.
"compelling is mind control, mind control is used with vampires, yes vampires exist so do werewolves witches and everything you feared as a kid that goes bump in the night" she told the new kid crossing her arms over her chest.
"Our friends are going to come for us you know" matt pointed out to the hunter.
"I'm counting on it, now who should I message first, Damon Salvatore? His brother Stefan? Tyler Lockwood or all of the above" Jeremy and Beth shared a look of relief that their sister wasn't on the list.
"Your playing a very dangerous game" Bethan spoke up smirking at the hunter.
"yeah why is that?" The brunette held her signature smirk moving closer to stand infornt of him.
"if you've done your recon as good as you think you have then you'd know a certain original has a twisted obsession with me and would do just about anything for so much as a date from m, you kill the people I love I set the dogs on you and as you know he can't be killed" the green eyed girl threatened.
"You've got balls girly but you don't scare me" Connor laughed before calling Jeremy over, that's when the phone rang and connor ushered matt, April and Bethan into the back, matt started searching for something but Bethan focused her energy on watching Jeremy, that's when she heard an explosion and the brunette took off back into the grill pushing her little brother behind her as Stefan joined them, Connor pointed the gun as the Siblings and Elena joined.
"Elena get out of here" Jeremy demanded there was no way the Gilbert siblings wanted their newly turned sister anywhere near this man.
"please don't hurt them they're the only family I have left" the newly turned vampire begged trying to save her siblings.

"you heard that your girl is watching and I will shoot the two brats on the count of three. One" Elena looked between the gap of her siblings,
"two" Bethan tightened her grip on Jeremy closing her eyes. Stefan shot up and Elena ran to Connor in attempts to knock him down but the gun was fired grazing Bethan's side, Stefan speeded over to protect the Gilbert's from the explosion.
"Beth, jer" Elena yelled trying to grab them.
"we're okay" Jeremy shouted back applying pressure to his sisters wound. Stefan took the hunter somewhere and Elena speeded over to her siblings, feeding Bethan her blood
"did I mention I hate this town?" She asked causing Jeremy and Elena to sigh with relief.
"how did this happen" The eldest Gilbert asked.
"he thinks Jeremy is some junior hunter and I'm going to kill him and everyone he has ever love" Bethan spoke through her gritted teeth wanting nothing more than to murder Connor.
"not if I do it first, jeremy get Beth home" before anyone could argue Elena was gone.
A while later Bethan decided to stay the night at the house and Elena finally returned.
"I killed him" she cried, Beth rushed to her sisters side.
"you didn't kill him, you protect your family, he would have killed me and Jeremy if it wasn't for you Elena, an I'm alive because of you" Bethan spoke honestly cradling her sister.
"I don't wanna be this person Beth" the doe eyed girl whispered refusing to be like the vampires she sees.
"what person? Our badass sister who risked her life to make sure someone didn't kill us?" Beth responded waiting to see if her sister is going to argue.
"it's not as black and white as that Bethan I killed someone" that's when the youngest of the girls sat Elena up
"look at me and listen our world the world we live in is different, he killed Tyler's friend, he was going
To kill Damon and Stefan, even you. But you stopped him okay" Elena slowly nodded, being the middle sibling.
"I think I'm gonna go to bed" she admitted Bethan watched her sister walk us the stairs truly scared for what was yet to come.

The Last Orellen is a long, character-focused progression fantasy set in a vast universe about a boy's journey to become a powerful mage. Reviews are deeply appreciated. Please do not repost my work elsewhere without my written permission. What type of reader is this book for? You might enjoy The Last Orellen if you like... Clever and resourceful protagonists. Big fantasy worlds. Multiple cultures, lots of characters, many different types of magic--this story is expansive rather than closely focused on a narrow storyline. Progression fantasy that takes its time. Our main character will be progressing through magical ranks, but this is going to be a lengthy story. If you're more about the journey than the destination, this might be the book for you. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

Re:Mento Mori
When Ryuji, a disgruntled salaryman, is supposed to reach an unfortunate end, he is instead thrust into a new world, inhabiting a body that isn't his own. Forced into a world filled with strife and death, can he claim freedom and happiness? Or will his turbulent new life only lead to suffering and pain? As with every time-loop story written by an amateur author, this is heavily inspired by Re:Zero. If I had to explain my book, I would say imagine Re:Zero, but the main character can actually fight people instead of just getting merked every time he meets someone with a weapon. The themes of this story are dark, so be forewarned. This is my first story so keep that in mind while reading it.
