Chapter 14
Goodbye my lover, Goodbye my friend
Bethan was on the phone to Damon.
D. Why did you take her to hospital when you gave vampires at your disposal?
B. Maybe because I don't know she had blood loss snd you guys are god knows where and Caroline and Tyler where doing god knows what, so I panicked
D. You need to get her home now every original is going to want to kill her she's a sitting duck.
B. Meredith wants to keep her for observation
D. Screw her get your sister home
B. Stop yelling at me Damon.
D. Fine I'm sorry I hurt your delicate little feelings now get Elena home.
B. Your a dick
Bethan put the phone down calling her friends to help get Elena home, Caroline played mom as Bethan went to change out of the Elena blood soaked clothes she had on. That's when Caroline came upstairs.
"how are you doing?" Care asked her best friend watching the brunette scrubbing her hands.
"I'm fine Elena is the one who was hurt" she reminded her friend, Caroline could see that Bethan was shaken up.
"mean with the whole Alaric thing and the klaus thing?" The vampire questioned sitting down on the bed.
"feel like I'm cursed, as soon as I get a parental figure they are ripped out from underneath me" Bethan admitted choking back the tears that threatened to spill.
"and klaus?" The youngest Gilbert let out a sigh.
"I've always felt second best you know, people in this town have always judged me against Elena no matter what. Damon is one of my best friends but he'd save Elena's life over mine, but with klaus it was the way he looked at me that I was the only person that ever mattered, like pure admiration kinda, like the way Tyler looks at you. For once I was someone's first choice I've never had that so it was kinda nice in a way, does that make me a bad person?" she confessed to the blonde vampire looking down at her lap.
"Oh no sweetie that makes you human, a human who needs some rest that's an order" Caroline told her. Bethan took her friends advice drifting off into a sleep.
When Bethan woke up she wasn't in her room but on top of the falls.
"so sleeping beauty awakes" that same arrogant cocky British accent spoke.
"your in my dreams now to?" Bethan groaned throwing her head back.
"not exactly, I'm just in your head" klaus informed her smiling at the brunette.
"but how your like a miles away" Bethan was confused she'd seen Damon do this first hand.
"did you forget I'm an original love?" Klaus smirked causing the Gilbert girl to roll her eyes.
"so why are you invading my dreams exactly?" The brunette wondered getting to the point.
"say goodbye, who knows if I'll ever see you again, and it truly would be a crime to walk this earth without a creature as beautiful as you on it" klaus flirted causing Bethan to roll her eyes once again.
"wow practically dead and still flirting with me" she laughed and klaus let out a genuine laugh.
"I'm sorry I have to revoke my promise of showing you the world" The hybrid confessed looking down feeling guilty.

"I'll see it one day, maybe when your revived you'll see my art hanging around the worlds best museums" she smiled at him.
"believe me I don't doubt it, and I'll buy every single piece" klaus smiled at the teen causing Bethan to blush.
"Bethan I don't have much time as I can feel this link severing but I wanted to tell you, that if you go to my home you'll find an envelope with your name on it, in side is a credit card linked to my account. You can have the world Bethan, you just have to want it." klaus informed Bethan, who was in true shock that he would do something this meaningful.
"this is goodbye Bethan Gilbert, the girl with the fire in her eyes, I'll carry you with me always and forever." Klaus turned around and the brunette did something she never thought she would.
"klaus wait" The hybrid turned back towards the girl, Bethan didn't know what came over her but she connected both of their lips together, the two moved in sync as sparks flew through both of their bodies, they pulled away and klaus wore his signature smirk.
"I knew you liked me" she could here the cockiness in his voice, when Bethan I opened her eyes she was all alone in her room again.
Bethan decided to go see her sister
"how you feeling?" She asked top and tailing her on the sofa.
"I'm fine stop fussing that's my job" Elena told her sister.
"please I'm such a better big sister" Bethan informed Elena who kicked her under the blanket.
"erm exhibit A" she exclaimed making Elena laughed.
"I'm going to shower I can't still feel your blood on me" Bethan grimaced.
By the time The youngest Gilbert came back down to the kitchen she saw Elijah.
"nuh uh, you get the hell out of my house" she yelled at the original crossing her arms over her chest.
"ah Bethan always a delight" he replied to the brunettes warm welcome.
"Elena what ever he said don't listen to him, he's broke his word countless times" she stated towards her sister everytime mikaelsons offers them a deal someone does.
"Bethan he could have killed me the moment He walked through the door" Elena responded to her little sister.
"yes but if he kills you then he knows he has no chance of getting his brother back don't be stupid Elena" beth added, Bethan could believe her sister would just agree to Elijah's demands like that it sickened her.
"You deserve everything you get for this elena" Bethan glared at the doppelgänger.
"that's enough Bethan" stefan yelled.
"it's Elena's choice" he told the 17 year old which set her off worse.
"Why is it her choice though? It's not we should discuss this as a group this decision effects me, Jeremy, Caroline, Bonnie, Tyler and even Matt" Beth replied and before either Salvatore could respond.
"are you forgetting the part where he wants Tyler dead? What's going to stop him coming after him or our children or even grandchildren Elena, I know I said I'm always on your side but not when your on the wrong side" that's when Bethan stormed off to sit on the porch swing.
"You seemed very angry at your sister" Elijah commented leaning against the support beam.

"That's nothing new, we're always fightin" Bethan mumbled as the original sat next to her.
"you have to see where she is coming from it's hard price to pay being the elder sibling" he told her speaking from experience.
"no but you have to see what it's like being invisible everyone comparing the two of you, or always coming second best, if you had us both my life would be as meaningless as mean girls 2. She acts like she's got the weight of the world on her shoulders but i never asked her to make my decisions for me, neither did bonnie, Caroline, Tyler, Matt or Jeremy." she admitted to the original.
"Well I do know one person like that" Elijah fished around in his inside suit pocket before handing the envelope over to the human.
"I'm sorry, that you will never see my brother again, you had a positive effect on him bethan" after that Elijah left the girl alone to her thoughts, she couldn't help but open the later.
Dearest Bethan,
You once told me you wished to see the world that's filled with the most exquisite art, hopefully this will help as a stepping stone to get there.
Don't give up on our dreams and passion Bethan, carry them with you always and forever.
Until we meet again.
Yours Always,
Klaus Mikaelson
Bethan looked down at the letter overwhelmed with emotions, she was angry at the Salvatores, furious with her sister, upset with her self and confused with klaus. The brunette just sat there.
Elena came into the room, sitting down on the bed, the younger brunette just carried on staring out of the window.
"Bethan I'm sorry, but i don't think you're mad at me, I think you're scared you know that if Elijah and his family get klaus back to revive him you'll have to face what ever feelings you have for him-" Bethan cut her sister off with a slap.
"Don't you dare Elena, this has nothing to do it, the past year every member of that family has tried to kill the remaining members of mine and succeeded in some areas, but that doesn't matter Elena because you have Stefan and Damon and no matter who's life is endangered they will always save you so I apologise for wanting to make it to my 18th birthday" the green eyed girl stormed out of the Gilbert residence.
Bethan couldn't tell you how long she walked around for, after a while she started to think about what Elena has said, how did she feel about klaus. The brunette was brought out of her thoughts by her phone ringing.
B. If you're calling to tell me to say sorry to Elena you're-
D. Bethan, Alaric staked klaus. He's our sire I don't know how long we'll have.
B. Damon where are you?
D. I'm at the storage locker, don't even think about coming here, ric is still roaming around.
B. I cant loose you damon I just can't.
D. Beth, you'll be fine okay, remember me and you it's scar tissue, it all fade. But if you don't name your first born after me I'll haunt you ass.
B. I love you damon
D. Love you to kid, now do me a favour and go to Stefan.
Before the Gilbert girl could say anything their phone call was cut off, she looked down at her phone as she went to call Caroline her head started to pound and before she could contemplate what was going on she hit the floor.
August 2006 New York City THE MET
a 14 year old Bethan Gilbert wondered through the museum, by standers couldn't believe the teenager who actually chose to spend her summer roaming around the art exhibit. Each piece she stopped at she admired, whether it was the brush strokes, the message, the sharp an soft edges she was in awe of it all.
What the young Gilbert girl didn't know was someone who would change her entire life was close by watching her. Klaus Mikaelson was in New York City on business, every time he came to the city he would always come to look at one of his paintings hanging proudly in the prestige museum. As he walked along to admire his work he was shocked to find a young girl no older that 14 sketching his piece.
Klaus looked at the drawing and was astonished at the level of talent the young girl had.
" you know it's a fraud to draw someone else's work" he told the brunette, with out lifting her head from the book she responded with a line he would have never expected
"Actually it would only be counted as a fraudulent piece if I was to sell it or pass it off as a my own but believe me no one would believe that" Bethan carried on sketching the painting.
"Well love I think you might be underestimating your self there. You truly do have a talent" Bethan looked up to see a pair of sparkling blue eyes staring back at her.
"Might I ask what a young girl like you is doing spending her summer in a museum?" Klaus had moved to sit next to Bethan.
"My father invited me out to spend the summer with him, he promised to make up all the missed birthdays, school plays and all the rest he missed. I thought he meant it this time, I guess I was wrong" the brunette shrugged.
"I've always love art, it's the only thing I've ever been good at. It sounds stupid but when I'm painting it feels like I'm in control, I feel at peace" she told the 1000 year old man honestly.
"I promise you love that it doesn't matter who your father is, who anyone is they can't take away natural born talent, I've seen people taught by the best painters in the world and they would produce something like this. You have a gift and i wish for you to carry it with you always and forever" when Bethan blinked the man was gone, she never remember who he was, just that she never forgot those words.
Bethan woke up to see Caroline next to her. The brunette shot up hugging her best friend.
"I thought you would be dead" she cried into her friends arms. Bethan saw the look on Caroline's face.
"What's wrong?" She asked.
"Bethan it's Elena, she's in transition" Bethan's whole face just dropped as she sat their frozen.

Can a Lich Cry
Update every 1-2 weeks. Well, I say that, but I usually write during the weekdays and chill in the weekends. Should be the other way around, but writing helps me destress with schoolwork. The cover is a make-shift drawing I made some time ago. The Seven Kingdoms moved at the will of their prophets. They were the voices of their gods, and the deities wanted blood. After being caught in the crossfire, a young man named Sura died among the endless corpses. However, he inherited the Curse, and the Curse did not allow him to rest. When Titus conquered the Seven Kingdoms, he was still there. When mages became the new prophets, he was still there. Centuries later, the lich had faded into the unknown as the aide of Fia, the bastard mage and the only descendant of Titus. A dead man did not have anything to protect, so what did he fight for? For the game was not over, and it was still his to lose.

The Dreamside Road
Five years after the world fell into chaos, a treasure of artifacts is up for grabs. The relics of the Dreamside Road offer a power that could help rebuild or annihilate what remains. Orson Gregory is an adventurer for hire, but hunts this treasure for answers, not glory. Enoa Cloud’s late aunt helped hide the Dreamside Road, but following in her aunt’s supernatural tradition offers her as much peril as power. Together, Orson and Enoa battle a magic-obsessed militia, clash with a host of rivals, and face constant adventure on their journey to find the Dreamside Road. *Updates Monday and Friday The Dreamside Road is now on TopWebFiction! Vote so people know this exists. _____________________________________ NOTE: The Progression tag applies specifically to Enoa. Also, fair warning, that element doesn't enter the story until she begins her studies. Content: Main characters range in age from teenagers to people in their thirties and older, but it will not contain gratuitous violence or explicit sexual content. It also won’t shy away from implication, anything to make this story and its world feel more real. Characters will freely allude to potentially triggering topics, including living with a disability, facing terminal illness, coping with trauma, surviving societal destabilization, and the consequences of bigotry. At its most intense, the Dreamside Road is a hard PG-13. Worldbuilding: This is not a story with a lot of early exposition scenes, conveniently explaining ‘magic systems’ and political dynamics. Readers will learn, progressively, as the characters do. This story/world has a ‘magic system’, or rather, a set of systems, but the effort to quantify and understand the truth of the setting plays a role in the backstory, as well as in some character motivations. In that same vein, not every character has a firm grasp on the nature of their world, and not every piece of dialog from every character should be taken as entirely truthful Worldbuilding. Also, this isn't the softest Sci-fi. There are at least some basic explanations given for various elements, but Royal Road does not give me a spectrum to choose from. Given the choice between hard and soft, let's just say The Dreamside Road won't be cited in any college Physics papers. Setting and Theme: The Dreamside Road walks the line between fantasy and science fiction and deals with finding one’s place in a changing world. Many of the characters in this story are United States natives and the story begins in the United States, my homeland. However, knowledge or interest in this country is not necessary to understand the story, especially as it progresses. Also, as this is a novel that deals with societal collapse and while that damage may be widespread, in story, I don’t want to overstep and critique the culture of others’ unless I have particular knowledge in a given area. Ultimately, the Dreamside Road is American in the same way Harry Potter is English, fantasies that do not have a full secondary world, but with enough original elements to fully diverge the setting from our the real world.

God of Thieves
Matsumoto Kunio was just an average human living a boring life in Tokyo, Japan. That was the case until he died and was reincarnated to another world! Armed with a System and tasked with a mission to save the world, watch as Matou, the new name he was given, sets off on an epic adventure! …Or at least, that should have happened? “All right, hand me the thingamabob, you’re no longer the main character! Now, how does this thing work? Ah. “My name is Kayden, and witness my ascendance to the God of Thieves! None shall be safe from my hands, not even your beloved System! Muahahahaha!” This can’t be happening… Author’s note. Hi, this novel is a LitRPG novel. In case you are confused, both Kayden and Matou are main characters, but the ‘protagonist’ would be Kayden. The novel is pretty slow-paced (in my opinion), so do keep that in mind when reading. This is my first novel, so do leave reviews and comments on how to improve my writing. Be nice about it. Also, I recently added the profanity tag. There is some swearing but it's not excessive or anything. Adding it just in case. Taking a one week break! Basically until my exams are over.
