Chapter 7

Dinner from hell

Damon showed up in Bethan's room while the was drawing in her sketch book.

"I need your help" he tells the teen who didn't even lift her head up before answering him.

"and I'm mad at you" she reminded him continuing to sketch.

"please Bethan this is important" the vampire was practically begging at this point.

"didn't you get the memo I'm not invited to know about important decisions" Bethan sassed lifting her head to watch Damon beg.

"how much longer are you gonna stay mad at me for?" Damon whined to his best friend.

"Lets see, you conspired with my sister to make Jeremy leave town and then you kissed said sister and told Bonnie about it and not me! That doesn't seem like a good friend" Bethan told him crossing her arms across her chest.

"look I'm sorry Okay? I just thought while stefans on the outs I can make my self look good" Damon gave her his puppy dog eyes making bethan groan.

"fine I forgive you but what do you need me for that Elena can't do?" She questioned her best friend.

"Me, Stefan, Elijah and klaus are all having dinner tonight and I want you to come looking all sexy and play little red riding hood to distract the big bad wolf" he briefly explained not making any sense to why Bethan was needed.

"Why me?" She asked sitting up from her bed.

"well let's face it klaus tolerates you more that the rest of his plus, your better company than stefan" Damon pouted making Bethan roll her eyes

"Fine I'll do it, but you my drinks for a week" she negotiated.

"fine be ready By 6" Bethan smirked in victory.

Bethan got all dolled up and even attached the bracelet klaus bought her onto her wrist, she heard the knock down stairs and grabbed her bag ready For the worst evening of her life.

"Wow you look hot" Damon commented seeing the small brunette all dressed up.

"I always look hot" she reminded him touching up her lipstick.

"can we go" stefan yelled making both best friends rolled their eyes.

"you know I think I preferred puppy dog stefan" Beth mumbled. As they drove to the new mikaelson mansion

"if being an evil dick gets you a house like this sign me the fuck up" Bethan commented standing there mouth open admiring the house. The door swung open revealing Elijah

"I'm sorry I don't believe we've met" he commented looking a Beth who tilted her head.

"I'm Bethan Gilbert Elena's younger hotter and all around better sister" she smiled offering her hand to the originals. Elijah took her small hand placing giving it a small shake.

"Niklaus our guests have arrived" Elijah informed his brother moving along to let Bethan and the Salvator's in.

"ah stefan Damon and the lovely Bethan, Elijah tells me of how you to seek an audience very bold" klaus stated pouncing around like the king of the world.

"actually I'm just here for the free food" Bethan replied shoving the hybrid out of the way walking into the house.

"let's talk this out line civilised men shall we" klaus gestured to the empty seats around the table.

"it's better to indulge him" Elijah whispered used to his brothers dramatic flare.

"I didn't come here to eat I was told I had to come here because you said you'd here us out" stefan replies in his now current bitchy attitude.

"well you can either eat or I can out my hand down your throat and pull out your stomach" the hybrid offered The all sat around the table as Bethan ate her food at record pace.

"wow love you sure can eat" klaus commented as the small girl had practically inhailed her food.

"well it's nice to have a proper cooked meal, since you killed my aunt I don't have many" Bethan sassed earning a kick from Damon.

"Come on stefan eat up I thought we agreed to leave grumpy Stefan at home" Damon told his little brother causing Beth to laugh.

"Isn't this a treat the 5 of us all dining together is that what you had in mind when your pulled the dagger out of my brother" klaus questioned the elder Salvatore.

"I figured the more the merrier" Damon replied shrugging his shoulders.

"well Elijah and I have had our quarrels over the years but we always make it through" the hybrid told the younger vampires.

"you mean like you and Rebekah? Where is she by the way?" Stefan asked trying to start an argument.

"if you mean the fact Rebekah knows I killed our mother I have already told Elijah" he responded not letting the youngest vampire get to him.

"hey Stef remember when you killed dad, you might want to dial down on the judgement until dessert" Damon commented and now it was Bethan's turn.

"look at me stefan I didn't think I'd be dining with the four men who are responsible for everyone in my family dying at least once" Bethan said in a sarcastically sweet manner.

"Stefan where is the lovely Elena this evening?" Elijah asked wondering why Bethan was here instead of her sister.

"don't know ask Damon" this caused both klaus to laugh and Bethan to try and hold it in.

"I'm sorry you've missed so much trouble in paradise" klaus informed his brother.

"one more word about Elena and this dinner is over" The youngest vampire threatened.

"best to put Elena in the do not discuss pile" Bethan tried to make peace.

"It's just the allure of the Patrova Doppelgänger is so strong, what do you say brother shall we tell them about tatia?" Klaus asked his brother

"I don't think we should discuss matters long since resolved" the eldest mikaelson told his little brother.

"I mean their shared affection for both for Katerina and Elena it would be fair to tell them about the originator of the line" klaus stated peaking the Gilbert girls interest.

"you two fell in love with same girl? Oh we have to hear that story, it's what Jeremy Kyle is made of" Bethan stated.

"When our family first settled her there was a girl tatia she was an exquisite beauty, every boy of age desired to her suiter even though she had a child out of wedlock none loved her more than Niklaus" Elijah told the story.

"oh id say there was one more or atleast as much" klaus added referring to his brother.

"oh this gold" Bethan laughed earning another kick from Damon.

"Our mother was a very powerful witch so she took her to end our feuding we later found out it was her blood in the wine, binding the spell my mother used to turn us into vampires. At this time we grew a stained" Elijah finished the story

"but we put it aside family before all" klaus toasted.

"family before" Elijah clinked their glasses.

"Why don't we move along and discuss the terms of this agreement" Elijah suggests getting down to the reason they where all there.

"klaus gets his coffin back and in return him and the extended original family get the hell out of town. Then me Stefan Elena and Bethan ever after" Damon simply put it as If it was the simplest thing in the entire world.

"The deal sounds fair brother" Elijah added

"I don't think you understand Elenas doppelgänger Blood I will always have more hybrids against those who oppose me I will never leave her behind" on that last line the hybrids eyes shifted towards Bethan who had become so bored with the conversation was playing games on her phone, biting the edge of her lip as she concentrated, it took everything in klaus not to smile at the adorable sight. Klaus grabbed his glass of wine standing up

"say I do leave a here under your protection how long before one of you turn her into a vampire or worse she dies because if you're insane feuding, see gentleman you both believe that the best thing for Elena Gilbert- The worst thing for that girl is the both of you" klaus told them both and Bethan did agree if it wasn't for them they wouldn't be living in a world like this.

"i'm going to get some air" Damon announced leaving Bethan and Stefan on the table with klaus.

"all that talk made me thirsty can I interest you in a little after dinner drink?" Klaus asked the Salvatore as he began to drink for the blonde cocktail waitresses neck.

"I think I'm going to be sick" Bethan stated running off to find somewhere to puke, the brunette didn't know if it was the fancy wine or watching klaus drink the blood of some poor girl but she found her self spewing up in one of the hybrids many bathrooms. She walked back in to see klaus getting stabbed by two guys and Rebekah. "what did I miss?" She asked the Salvatores.

"well hello darling" an attractive guy a little older than her said.

"Hi I'm Bethan" she introduced Kol took her hand kissing the back of it.

"Kol not now, you are free to go this is a family matter" Elijah in formed them.

"I'd say it was a pleasure but lying is a sin" Bethan said and raced to leave the mikaelson mansion.

Damon dropped Beth at home she headed up to her room where she found Elena sitting on her bed.

"hey" she said smiling at her younger sister.

"pretty dress" elena commented.

"thanks it's a long story" beth told her feeling exhausted after the night she had.

"Caroline's father died with vampire blood in his system and didn't complete the transition" Elena informed the younger Gilbert.

"is Caroline okay?" Beth frantically asked about her best friend.

"she's coping but that's not what I wanted to tell you" Elena moved over to the side of the bed patting it for Bethan to sit down, Beth sat by her sister and Elena took one of her hands.

"Caroline said how she wanted to force her father into drinking blood and I said she couldn't because it was her choice an I finally understand why you took off on me because I took Jeremy's choice away and I'm sorry, I'm sorry I didn't tell you about it or talk to you, I'm sorry I didn't tell you about John and I'm sorry I'm such a terrible sister" Elena cried, Bethan wiped her sisters tears away.

"you are not a terrible sister, you be winning an award time soon but cI shouldn't have said what I said you'd do anything to protect me and Jeremy and I realised being at the mikaelson dinner party that I wasn't mad about you compelling Jeremy more for the fact you didn't talk to me about it Elena, you've been walking around with the weight of the world on your shoulders thinking your in this alone well your not. You have me and Jeremy Elena we're a family you don't have to play super sister trying to take care of us we take care of each other" Bethan finished and at this point the two girls where crying their eyes out and hugging.

"I love you Beth" Elena squeezed her sister.

"right back at you sis"

The two girls ended up lying on Bethan's bed reminiscing about old times.

"remember the summer before freshman year? we use to sneak out to our clearing in the woods light a bonfire, Tyler would bring a bottle of bourbon and we'd have a sip of it, Matt would strum his guitar and you'd sing" Elena asked reminiscing.

"yeah Life was so much easier back then, our biggest problem was the two man pyramid trying to sneak back in" Bethan remembered causing the girls to laugh.

"what i wouldn't give for one more night like that" the doppelgänger spoke and Bethan shot up.

"that's a great idea, Elena go and change into warmer clothes, I'm going to text Tyler Matt Caroline and Bonnie, we are going to have a normal night" Beth told her sister, Elena didn't argue and Just did as her sister wished.

Meet me and Elena at our old spot in 20 minutes.

The Gilbert girls arrived at the spot where Bonnie and Matt stood, no much later Tyler and Caroline arrived.

"What's this all about guys?" Matt asked the sisters who had a smirk plastered on their faces.

"we need one normal night, just us and our strange little disfunctional family" Bethan told them all sitting on one of the logs, Elena sat down on her left and Tyler on her right Caroline sat the other side of Tyler then Matt and Bonnie so the teens where all in a circle.

"Bonnie can you do the honours?" Elena asked and the teenage witch lit the old bonfire.

"well this wouldn't be us with out this" Tyler stated bring out a bottle of bourbon.

"nope it's perfect" Caroline smiled looking around at all their friends.

"so are you an Matt gonna play us something?" Bonnie asked the youngest Gilbert.

"of course Matt?" Beth smiled as Matt began to strum his guitar.

"So no one told you life was gonna be this way" Bethan began to sing .

"Your job's a joke, you're broke

Your love life's D.O.A" and the brunette nudged her sister on the last line causing them all to laugh

"It's like you're always stuck in second gear, When it hasn't been your day, your week, your month

Or even your year," Bethan rolled her eyes as she sang once again causing a laugh to erupt. Tyler wrapped his arms around the two girls Elena then griped on to Bonnie and Bethan's hands and Caroline rested one of her own on matts shoulder.

"I'll be there for you..."
