Chapter 2
My speciality is ice
Beth woke up in her old bedroom she decided today she was going to visit her fathers grave, on the way downstairs she noticed Jeremy and Alaric.
"Morning Beth any plans today?" Ric asked the 17 year old
"I'm going to my fathers grave" and as if on cue the Bain of her existence showed up
"maybe we can go together" Elena offered.
"why so I can stand in front of my dads grave with the girl who practically killed him and forgot to tell me?" Bethan bitched seeing the guilt flash in Elena's eye
"I think I'll pass" with that the brunette left the Gilbert house heading towards the all to familiar cemetery.
The brunette sat infront of her deceased fathers head stone
"I was gonna bring flowers but you've always hated them, then I was going to bring bourbon but I'm not 21 yet, honestly dad i don't really know what to do, I thought never knowing my mom was the worst thing that could happened to me but you dying and me not even being here I feel like I failed you as a daughter, no wonder your laid down your life Elena she was properly a better daughter to you in three months than I was in 17 years" tears slowly made their way down her face as she cried.
"I wouldn't be to sure about that" the familiar voice of Damon Salvatore
"hey Day" she whispered not turning round as she felt the vampire place his arm around her shoulders to comfort her.
"Alaric wants you to come to vampire training said it will be good for you" Damon informed her
"okay" in the short time he had known the younger Gilbert he never seen her this fragile
"also this was off your father he wrote it you know before he well" Damon stopped their handing over the letter marked. 'To my little Annie' Beth gave the letter a small smile as she tucked it into her leather jacket pocket.
"Ready?" The Icey blue eyed vamp question to which the human nodded.
They arrived at the training site where Elena was trying to punch the dummy and release the stakes to her surprise it didn't work.
"I think this one is faulty" she spoke removing it, Bethan just like ric and Damon knew it was because in fact she was not strong enough. The devious one of the Gilbert girls held a slight smirk on her face as she picked it up sliding it on her wrist.
"Beth do you not listen to anything I say it's faulty" Elena was about to eat her words as Bethan punched the dummy shooting the two stakes into the target area.
"Seems fine to me" the brunette smiled as she handed it back to her so called sister, the smirk plastered on her face for all to see.
"Look out buffy there's a new bitch in town" Damon smirked as the two high fived
"Can you take me home now, I'd like to get ready for school tomorrow" she asked Damon who nodded he knew Bethan would need sometime before she was her self again
"keep trying Elena I'm sure you'll get it eventually thought it doesn't really matter because some else' parent will just die for you" Bethan skipped off to damons car leaving the vampire, the hunter and the doppelgänger all stunned by what the brunette had said.
"That was a bit harsh don't you think?" The raven haired vampire told his best friend as he began to drive her home

"atleast I didn't forget to tell my sister her father was dead" she reminded the vamp shrugging her shoulder
"you not gonna let that go are you?" Damon questioned he already knew the answer but one can hope
"i wouldn't count on it" she winked at the vamp before going into her house.
The teen sat on her bed and opened the letter.
'To my little Annie,
You always hated that name it probably why I still call you it today, how ever this letter has reached you, as a young artist, a successful woman, maybe even a mother, just know that I love you. When you where about 6 months old and dropped on this doorstep I didn't quite know what to do I knew I wouldn't be a good enough father to you so I left you with aunt and uncle, they where probably the best parents you could ever have.
And knowing you Bethan you will blame Elena for this and no matter what any else tells you it won't change your mind and that is the best quality to have in a world of vampire, witches, hybrid and werewolves. So I am going to leave you with this piece of advice.
Never let anyone do your thinking for you, there are far too many people invested in themselves and there own needs, to survive in this world you must but your self first. My beautiful daughter I hope you have a life filled with love, courage and happiness.
Yours Always
John Gilbert'
Tears hit the page and she knew that she had to be strong she couldn't break down and have everyone fussing over her like her sister, she stood up tall got into to the shower and prepared for the day at school tomorrow.
Bethan, Bonnie, Caroline and Elena all stood looking at the front of the school.
"did anyone else think it would feel a lot more special and empowering?" Bethan asked the others, staring at the front doors to their high school
"yeah kinda but I mean why should I let the fact the boyfriend is seeing the ghost of his dead girlfriends bother me" Bonnie stated holding her head up high causing the other girls to follow suit.
"and why should I let the fact my sister forgot to inform my father gave up his life so she could live ruin this day" Beth added receiving an eye roll from Elena
"exactly why should I let the fact my boyfriend as been turned into a hybrid affect this year" Caroline jumped in, Bethan gave Caroline's hand a small squeeze
"it's our anniversary" all three girls looked at Elena slightly confused.
"technically Stefan and I met on the first day of school" she explained. Bonnie, Bethan and Caroline all shared a look before Bethan rolled her eyes.
"yeah you win" The girls walked through the school together, they spilt off into different ways
"um Beth your not mad about me and Tyler are you?" Caroline asked the former girlfriend of the Lockwood boy. The twos girl hadn't talked since the blonde was now dating the newest hybrid
"no care, we all know me and Tyler where puppy love, that honestly just turned into a status" she told her oldest friend honestly. Bethan and Tyler where that couple the one who started dating in middle school who everyone thought would get married
"your really sure?" Caroline asked causing the the brunette to role her eyes.
"on one condition" she playfully glared at the blonde causing Caroline to be slightly scared
"name it?" Care was slightly nervous biting her lip

"I get maid of honour" the two burst out laughing as they link arms to head through the school
Caroline was putting up posters as both Beth and Elena approached
"the bonfire I completely forgot" Elena announced earning the blondes attention.
"you and me both sister" Bethan added causing Caroline to smiled lightly at the Gilbert girls falling back into their old routines
"you both have to go it's our first spirt squad event it sets the tone for the whole year" Caroline complained both Gilbert girls knew there was no way the two of them where getting out of this.
"relax Caroline we will be there" Elena assured her Caroline was about to reply when Tyler stuck his tongue down her throat.
"Well that's our cue" Bethan dragged Elena away.
"You know seeing your ex boyfriend ram his tongue down your best friends throat is surprising more awkward than you'd think" Beth chuckled Elena remained silent she didn't know what to say to Bethan, the two girls where brought up as siblings before they ever found out they where actually sisters
"Beth are we like you know are we okay?" The elder girl wondered, Elena wouldn't hesitate to admit she missed Bethan.
"you mean over the fact you didn't tell me about my dad" Elena slowly nodded, nervous about what was going to come out of the younger brunettes mouth.
"I'm over it" Beth smiled, deep down both girl knew Bethan was lying through her teeth. The two went to walk to history when Elena bumped into Stefan.
"What are you doing here?" Elena asked her now ex boyfriend
"what do you mean I'm coming back to school 'go timberwolves'" Stefan mocked rolling his eyes. Although Beth wasn't on the best of terms with Elena she wasn't going to let Stefan break her.
"Why?" Elena out right questioned the youngest Salvatore
"Klaus wants me to keep an eye on you I'm just doing what I'm told" The vampire seemed thrilled about the assignment the original had given him.
"Wow stefan I thought you were pathetic when you were following Elena round like a lost puppy, now your klaus' bitch, atleast when you was elenas you got a little something out of it, what does klaus give you a pat on the head and a blood bag for being a good boy?" Beth asked. Bethan was the queen of sass and humiliation lesson one don't play with the queen, Elena decided it was best to change the subject before Stefan attempted to murder the sassy brunette.
"We're late for class" Elena said grabbing on to her sister before she killed Stefan on the spot as Elena went to move Stefan grabbed onto her arm
"class is this way" and he tighten his grip on the doppelgänger's arm applying a small amount of pressure
"let her go" Bethan warmed him As she clamped her hand around stefans wrist pulling it off. This shock the vampire slightly that's when Alaric showed up.
"is there a problem here?" Ric asked stepping in between the Gilbert's and stefan. Stefan walked away.
"Are you both okay?" Ric asked the girls he gave them the once over checking for signs of any visible damage.
"Okay? Yes, extremely pissed off and planning stefans unholy demise you betch" the two watched as Bethan stormed off pushing anyone who dares stand in her way to the side.
"that's going to be a problem isn't it?" Ric questioned he knew Bethan didn't believe in taking the high road
"a big one" Elena replied following her into class.
Bethan sat in her old seat behind Elena and next to Tyler. The hybrid gave Bethan a small smile which she returned.
"welcome back seniors let's start with our native founders" ric started earning a groan from the majority of students he went to continue until he was interrupted by the blonde who had just walked in
"what about the vikings" she asked taking the only empty chair just left of Bethan.
"there is no actual evidence that vikings existed, and who are you" Alaric asked he hadn't been given any updates on new students
"my names Rebekah I'm new and history is my favourite subject" Caroline and Elena shared a look before turning to look a Bethan, while Beth just rolled her eyes. History class went by painfully slow and it was now time for cheer practice.
Being the best friend of Caroline Forbes came with some unusual duties such as cheerleading.
"Why am I doing this you know I hate cheering" Beth moaned while being dragged out to the field, Elena and Bonnie had both quit in the past year but when Bethan tried to Caroline pulled her favourite card.
"because you are my best friend and the squad has an opening that you are filling" Caroline informed her and there it was the ultimate card the best friend card. The brunette gave her best friend a glare as they arrived at the field. when they got there to the girls surprise Rebekah was there already showing off infront of the other girls.
"I heard you had an opening" Rebekah stated practically begging for the spot. Caroline crossed her arms over her chest
"yeah we did but Bethan is back so she gets her spot back" Caroline informed the original, not wanting the blonde anywhere near the pep squad.
"Her she doesn't seem to have much fire in her" Rebekah laughed the other girls stayed quite and Caroline smirked at what was about to come. The younger Gilbert took a run up performing a few tumbles landing infront of Rebekah.
"Sorry my specialty is ice" and the brunette flicked her hair. Caroline high fived Bethan as they go on with their practice.
After care had screamed at her boyfriend the two were heading in to the locker room
"wow I think the only person I dis like more than klaus is his sister" Caroline stated as the two changed back into normal clothes
"tell me about it the poor bitch had to compel her self a friend" once changed Bethan set out on a mission that she didn't need her friend knowing about
"ill call you later care" she yelled looking for a specific person. After searching the whole school the Gilbert girl finale found the person she was looking for.
"Hey aren't you suppose to be draining some girl of her blood right now?" Beth asked looking at the invisible watch on her wrist.
"Why are you offering?" Stefan asked as the girl moved to stand infront of him.
"You could try but I'd punch you in throat" she smirked, as if she was daring him to even try and make a move.
"so what do I owe the pleasure of miss Bethan Gilbert coming to speak to me?" Stefan questioned the short time he's spent around Bethan he figured out rarely anything she does, has a ulterior motive to it.
"well ever since you switched you emotions off your no longer the annoying guy who does what Elena says I mean please that got old with Matt" Beth rolled her eyes causing Stefan to smirk.
"Believe me you don't know the relief it's been, why do you seem to like me this much?" Stefan got curious by the girl wanting to know what the conniving Gilbert was up to.
"your honest now you don't care about what you say and believe me with the situations we find our selves in it's a good way to be" Beth told him sitting down next to him.
"that's what I like about you Beth your a fighter" Stefan smirked. Now it was time for Beth to get what she came for, she placed her hand on stefans shoulder to distract him
"now now is the morale compass in love with my sister mr Stefan Salvatore flirting with me" she giggled, Beth used her index and middle finger to lift Stefan's phone from his pocket into hers. A little trick she learned from Neal Caffrey.
"Maybe I am" Stefan leaned towards the girl a smirk plastered on his face, when Bethan pulled away
