《Red Feather (Hawks x Reader)》Would you hold still, damnit!

I dipped the small makeup brush into the bottle. When I was about to pull out the blood-covered brush, a hand stopped me.
"Woah. Your blood is... Cyan. And glowing?"
"Once it leaves my body it becomes the healing stuff if I stir it fast. Now hold still."
With one leg kneeling in between his legs and the other on the floor, I reached past him to grab the top of the couch so when I leaned over him, I wouldn't fall. He took the cup and held it so I could work.
I stroked my hand through his hair so that I could see the bruise on his cheekbone and under his eye.
"Wow kid. You know, usually, when we're this close you get all blushy. And that's when I'm wearing clothes. Guess I look ugly bleeding, yeah?"
He pulled me from my concentration and I started to feel heat climbing my face. "Hush... Lemme work."
He gave me a cheeky swollen-faced smile and let me continue. My blood (though it had the consistency of vaporub once it was ready to heal) was soaking into his skin where I applied it. Once the gel-like stuff touched his face it glowed slowly then faded.
"When I'm done with your face, I'm going to get a rag to clean the blood off so when I put my blood on it'll be clean, okay? And I'll while the dirt and soot off."
"I think there is a huge cut on top of my head by the way", he said smirking.
I leaned in and up to see then I felt his breath below my collar bone.
There was no blood matting his hair and he started chuckling.
I jolted back and started blushing profusely. I didn't even realize what I was doing!
" I... I-I didn't mean to- erm... I wasn't paying attention-"
"-I know. I just wanted to see if you would fall for it." He gave another cheeky smile.
"Pervert! Do you want me to fix you up or not?" Although I tried to seem pissed it came across as incredibly flustered.
"Relax kiddo", he chuckled," You might pop a vain turning that red. But I do have a quick question."
"What?" I asked.
"So hypothetically if you were to kiss me, would it heal my busted lip?" He was staring at my lips as he asked.
"I- I suppose. Well, no-no not unless I licked my lips first I guess."
"Oh?"
I tried to play it off even though I wanted to jump on the opportunity, but I didn't have the confidence.
He didn't say another word and let me fix his face. By the time I was done, I started feeling an ache above my eyebrow, where I first put the gel on his face. I ignored it to get up and go get a towel.
While in the bathroom, I was wetting the towel and looking in the mirror. By this time I started developing Hawks's black eye. He had a really bad one so this one is should turn out a normal black eye. I hope.
I didn't tell him that about fifteen percent of the wounds I heal come back at the full damage. He wouldn't have let me help him if I did.

When I came back he was lazily grinning.
"You know, you seem pretty chipper for someone who was about to faint a minute ago."
"I'm sitting down now, beautiful. I feel much better."
"Alright handsome. Want me to turn on the tv?"
"Ohohoho", he chortled," You don't wanna play this game kiddo. I'm pretty hard to fluster. You, however, can be completely dominated. In the game of course", he gave me a dark stare.
My stomach did backflips and I changed the subject the only way I could.
"Heh... So... Tv? "
"Sure!"
He went back to being cheeky in an instant. Like the words we just traded never happened.
With his face done, I started on his neck. I gently put my hand under his chin and pushed up carefully. He cocked an eyebrow with a smirk as if to say 'oh? How bold'.
It looked like there was an attempt to choke him out with... A rope? Looks about right. I dabbed some of the goo onto him. Even though the tv was on, he was looking at me. Well, I think he was. I felt his eyes burn in holes into me.
There was quite a large gash on his left bicep and what looked like a bullet hole on his forearm. "Oh my god you were shot?"
"Yep. Pretty cool huh?"
My mouth dried and I cringed.
"And it hurts a lot. By the way, your blood also numbs a bit so can you please put it on."
"You might want to take a deep breath."
I, as carefully as I could, dipped the brush into the goo and in his bullet hole. He groaned and went stiff.
"I'm so sorry I'm so sorry I'm so sorry-"
I did get the brush inside and lathered it up. I did the same through the exit wound.
He sighed in relief when it was over and I froze in apprehension and shock mixed with a little bit of disgust. "Please tell me that is the only one."
"Three in my leg."
"What?"
"I'm kidding that's the only one. Hoo. That one stung", he breathed.
I let out a relieved sigh and leaned my head back. "Thank God I can't do that again."
The rest of his arm was getting more difficult as my body had started to hurt more. My face felt like a truck hit it and my neck was sore. I was not looking forward to the bullet wound manifesting. I was praying for mercy and hoping it wouldn't be one of the wounds that wouldn't manifest all the way.
The part I was worried about was his chest. Not because it was covered in bruises but because the only way to get to it was either-
A) stand and bend over (but my cleavage would be plainly visible).
B) sit on his lap (several reasons why that wasn't a good idea. One being that I haven't healed his lap so I could hurt him more. The big one on the side stopped bleeding but I know it would be one to hurt. Oh yeah, and it's on his lap).
Or

C) once again kneel between his legs but instead of sitting, be in a praying position. Then have to sit to get his legs which didn't look that bad. They did still have a few cuts and bruises though. I guess he doesn't fight much with his legs.
Biting the inside of my cheek I kneeled between his legs and was on my knees. I could feel his thighs on either side of me. I didn't know why I was over-thinking this. I pushed the table in front of the couch back so that I can sit.
"Oh? Getting bold."
"Tch. It's nothing like that."
"Kiddo", he said lowly, "My feathers are so sensitive they pick up in the smallest of sounds. And your heart is racing."
I froze and the words coming out of his mouth went to my stomach, making it light. I felt a very faint blush creep up my cheeks. So faint maybe the dim lighting from the damaged light bulb might hide it.
He smirked from the couch then it turned into a frown. "Hey, your face."
His worry broke the spell and I touched the newly tender black eye. "It feels okay, it just looks bad", I lied.
Even though I tried to get back to work he firmly grabbed my wrist. "You can't look like this because of me. Stop putting that stuff on. Doesn't feel right."
"But Takami-"
"Oh shit I forgot about that", he grimaced.
"What?"
"Alright, to be honest, I only told you my name because I thought I'd never see you again but- you aren't supposed to know that name. Even if you told someone no one would believe a random girl. I was supposed to leave it behind. "
I stared at him. "Leave it behind?"
"Yeah. The place that took me in trained me hard. I wasn't supposed to have a name, just Hawks. Shit", he breathed.
I freed my wrist from his now gentle grasp and continued to brush the goo in his wounds. "I don't ever recall you telling me a name."
He seemed to get what I was getting at. "I don't think I ever told you one- hey stop!"
He was sharper this time and turned me to stone. "I shouldn't have let you do this. I'm supposed to help citizens and look at you. Looks like you jumped off a cliff."
"Gee thanks."
"I'm serious. Stop."
"But it goes away when I take a long sleep! You're the number two hero, you need to be in better shape-"
"I'll heal just fine. I can't believe I let you-"
"Wait hear me out. You walked me home drunk and alone. This is me repaying you! You'd heal a lot faster if you'd let me continue. And! You have to be in good shape to save other people."
"I have healers", he deadpanned.
"You can't trust anyone in your company right now. There could be more than one mole."
He stopped and considered all of my points. Then he took a deep sigh and rubbed his newly fixed eyes. "Fine. Only this once. Never again."
I leaned him back and continued healing him. I had to finish before the bullet hole started showing. It was already itchy so I knew I was running out of time.
"There is no easy way to say this so I'm just gonna drop it on you.", he began, "You can't live here anymore. Now the gang I was fighting knows you're here. They might try to use you against me."
His toned body was really distracting. I was doing all I could not to caress his abs, tracing the perfect way they were and drooling. This man-
What the fuck did he say?
My head snapped up and my sore neck protested. "What? But you've only been here twice!"
"The first time was innocent but suspicious. I dropped you off but spent the night. By the way, you might see some magazines with that little detail. Now I came back to your house not only to hide but to also get healed. I sent a few feathers out to spy for me and they're about 3 people watching your house."
I stood there in horrible surprise. Watching. I didn't like that one bit.
"But... But I'm dirt poor, Hawks! I don't have the money to just up and move! Id- well I'd have to pay off the rent I owe, get a moving truck- wait maybe a car is cheaper? I can't do that!"
He looked like he was about to say something but when I cut him off, a small smile tugged at the corner of his lips.
"And my jobs. With two I can't just-"
"Sweetness. Slow down."
The new nickname made me stop dead in my tracks. He only used it twice but both times he used that sexy growl.
"Oh, so I have to call you sweetness to get your attention? " He chuckled.
Another flush warmed my cheeks.
"What I was going to say was that I'll arrange a new place for you to stay. Far from here. Still in Japan, if you want it to be, and you can probably work at my agency."
"What?"
I'm not going to lie I was dumbfounded at the proposal.
"What would I even do", I asked.
"Well... Maybe an assistant? Secretary of some sort? Janitor? I can work something out, yeah?"
I looked down at my legs. They were sore from sitting like this. "I don't know, Hawks. My stuff is here. This is sudden, and isn't your agency far from here?"
"I'll let you sleep on it. But know that while you wait I'll have people watching you. Keeping you safe."
The pain in my arm was starting to bother me so I switched arms and worked on his body.
"I'll think about it", I mumbled.
"Good. By the way, I'm feeling a lot better", in almost an instant, his eyes got darker and his voice got low, "Your magic feels so good, sweetness. It tingles. Are you doing this on purpose?"
My breath left me and looked down blushing furiously so I could work on him without the attention.
He let out a loud laugh. "I'm kidding I'm kidding."
My shoulders hunched in embarrassment and I continued looking down.
"Aww come on, don't be mad at me."
"Would you just hold still", I said defensively.
He chuckled and once again let me work.

To Blunt The Sharpest Claw
The Velvet Paw of Asquith Novels are a series of New Fable genre novels that involve cats and dogs and high adventure and romance and espionage and food-fights and hotels and explosions and car chases. With large casts, exotic locations and an absurdity only possible in the absence of human characters, the Velvet Paw of Asquith Novels blend Wind in the Willows with James Bond, though with more cafes and fewer badgers. This submission is the third title in its Morigan Trilogy, beginning two-thirds of the way through the series' longest adventure yet. Here's a quick recount of what's happened so far: When Oscar Teabag-Dooven, a Velvet Paw of Asquith, is ordered to investigate how a mysterious poet, the Ar'dath-Irr, is able to travel instantaneously around the world, two very bad things happen. Firstly, he meets Lydia, an insane librarian who punches everyone in the face, and secondly, the Ar'dath-Irr reveals he is intent on taking over the world. Although this second thing might be considered worse than the first, Oscar feels differently following Lydia’s destruction of a cafe, a library and his face in one afternoon. In comparison, thwarting world domination just seems easier. Along with Binklemitre, a fellow Velvet Paw of Asquith, and Lydia, Oscar infiltrates the Ar’dath-Irr’s realm of dark poetry to discover the dog not only intends wrenching the world apart but has no intention of cleaning up afterwards. As a result, Oscar decides it’s all too hard and goes home to have a bath. After lots of arguing and the sort of food fight that posh restaurants were invented for, Lydia and Binklemitre convince him that they must stop the Ar’dath-Irr for several reasons, one of them quite serious. A vibrant cast of characters collide as Oscar, Lydia and Binklemitre battle the Ar’dath-Irr and his disciples in an adventure involving exploding cafés and appalling hotels, car chases and inadvertent surgery, dreadful poetry, lots of arguments and at least one temper-tantrum, all of which draw the three into dark and convoluted corners of a world they weren’t aware existed. Moreover, any chance of sitting down and discussing things over some buns disappears when Lydia punches the Ar’dath-Irr in the face. This results in her having a psychotic episode and Oscar getting run over by an ambulance. Although Binklemitre suffers neither, he witnesses both, which is almost as dreadful, though not nearly so messy. An enormous battle ensues, followed by a dinner party and then everything explodes.
