y/n hissed to herself, toppling over, one hand reaching out for her dresser to steady herself, and the other covering her side, where she felt the piercing, striking pain. it went from her back side and around to where her ribs were and she bit on her lip quickly, wishing she hadn't been so loud, as hitoshi was in the room.
"y/n?" hitoshi lifted himself from where he was (looking under y/n's bed for something he dropped) to question his friend, whom he quickly saw was stuck in one position in pain. he quickly got to his feet to rush over to the girl's side, "are you okay?"
he scanned her for a minute, looking for the source of the problem, when his purple eyes landed to where her s/c hand covered her side, a chilling crimson which bled through the fabric of her shirt and painted her fingers, caused his eyes to widen.
"don't worry about it," y/n hissed through clenched teeth, waving her arm in his direction, despite the obvious, painful state she was in. hitoshi wondered if she was seriously trying to brush off this situation.
the purple haired insomniac swallowed hard, "y/n, you're- you're bleeding," he stammered, eyes trained on y/n's bloody hand, as she tried to stop it. "why are you bleeding?" he helped the girl cover the area over her, now bloody, shirt as his eyes quickly scanned the room for anything he could wrap around her stomach.
"it's my dumb ass quirk," y/n held her breath in a wince, taking a moment to carefully exhale again, "it's fine, i'm fine-"
"wha-you're not fine- are you crazy?" hitoshi panicked, "what do i do? how-how do i help you? um, let me see," the boy crouched down, lifting y/n's shirt, his breath getting caught in his throat at the sight of the cuts, which y/n's quirk had pierced her.

he slightly jumped upon seeing claws, those of which the girl had always been slapping and swatting away. he never really caught them on previous occasions. why were they making themselves so known now?
"don't worry, it's really not as bad as it looks, i promise," y/n tried her best to keep the purple-haired insomniac calm in this situation, which wasn't really working.
hitoshi was now visibly shaking as his hand pressed against the girls bleeding, torn stomach, "am i hurting you?" he asked cautiously, "we should get you to the bed and call your parents, has this happened before? will they know what to do?"
"hitoshi, don't worry, it's fine." y/n said once again, forcibly being lead backwards by her shoulder. "the cuts always heal and the bleeding will stop in a bit," despite her words, hitoshi gently pushed the girl onto the bed, lifting her shirt higher to examine the cuts. they looked painful.
her quirk had shown no mercy toward the girl, thin lines of cuts overlapping each other, previous welts being reopened, a deep red liquid coming from the torn skin. it looked like she could never fully heal. scrapes with an upcoming bleeding, near the breaking of skin, hitoshi bit his lip, stood up from the bed, and went into the bathroom attached to the room, frantically searching the cabinets.
y/n cursed, hitting at the claws, "fuck you, demon," she hissed. "could you not cause a scene when hitoshi's here?" hitoshi was already suspicious, and this would only lead him to asking questions y/n didn't want to answer.
questions that were too close to what she had been trying to keep from him. and what could she do if that did happen? what would her friend do if he knew? would he avoid her? freak out? get angry? the girl's thoughts quickly vanished when hitoshi stepped out of the bathroom, wearing an unreadable expression on his pale features.
he had a first aid kit, which the girl's mother stored in her room for times like such, "did you forget about this or...?" hitoshi said, slighty waving the blue box.
"guess so," y/n shrugged carelessly, causing the boy to narrow his eyes as he sat down by her side again, pressing smooth tissue to the cuts, though he had no clue what he was doing. the red immediately soaked into the clean tissue and y/n tilted her head, "hitoshi, i don't think that's how you do it,"

"well, i don't want you to be sitting in a pool of your own blood, y/n," hitoshi stressed as he kept his eyes on what he was doing. "im trying to be a little useful in this situation."
"hitoshi, you being here is more than enough, i promise," y/n assured, feeling the stress hitoshi had suddenly fell under.
hitoshi glanced at y/n, then went back to her bloody cuts, pressing more tissue to them, "so this happens a lot?" he questioned. "why does it happen?"
the first few questions y/n didn't want to answer had, expectedly, been asked.
y/n sighed, leaning her head back, "it's because my quirk is... inside of me- it's trying to get rid of my shell... this body, to 'take over,' starting from the inside out. complicated, i know. we just have to wait until it's done tearing for now."
"wait... so can your quirk take over- and what do we do if that happens? can we get rid of it? like, right now?"
"well, you see..." y/n started, biting her lip. "my demon's stupid. we can't live without each other, seeing as how we grew together and all that jazz. if it dies, i die. if i die, it dies. but of course, my demon doesn't know that... so it's probably gonna kill me... then kill itself too, in the process, i think."
the purple-haired boy's eyes widened in a panic, slowly realizing y/n's words, he shook his head, "stop playing with me, y/n, im serious." hitoshi said.
y/n raised an eyebrow at hitoshi. she basically told him what was going to happen... hadn't she? technically. and he was... what? denying it? the girl bit her lip in thought of what she should say next.
"i haven't been to the hospital in a while..." y/n trailed slowly, chewing furiously on her bottom lip as she carefully chose her words. "i... i have to read over my report again..."
hitoshi stared at her for a moment, a tense silence falling upon the pair. he didn't know if he exactly wanted answers, wondering if he could accept them, wondering what y/n had been hiding from him... would she be honest if he did ask? he really had no clue.
"you won't, like... die from this... will you?"
y/n took a quick breath, still chewing on her bottom lip, nervously, once again, stuck on what to say. she needed to just tell him. the question was there- she could tell him. right now. what a concept.
"hitoshi," she said with a smile. "everything's gonna be fine."
well, fuck that concept.
hitoshi let go of a breath he was holding, taking the girl's hand in his and entwining their fingers, he smiled. "good. you scared me... i told you that you weren't allowed to die, remember?" the boy laughed in nervous relief, though he gazed at her, secretly unsure. would everything be fine?
"yeah, i remember... i remember..."
"oh, um- are you still in pain? the bleeding stopped, let me help..."
hitoshi stopped talking when he felt the weight of y/n's head on his shoulder. she sucked in a sharp breath and slowly exhaled. "can't we just lay together?"
hitoshi lifted his hand, running his fingers through y/n's h/c locks of hair, "the cuts are still open, y/n... let me help you first. then, we can lay together. does that sound good?"
y/n nodded, "yeah, that sounds good."
"does it still hurt?"
y/n knew hitoshi was talking about the cuts in her side, but the girl couldn't care any less about the physical injury. her heart ached so severely, and she hated the situation she was. y/n knew she was digging herelf into a very far hole but it was way too late to hop out now. did her heart still hurt? was the pain of basically lying to hitoshi everyday still present? was the aching of knowing in a few days, she'd be leaving hitoshi's side still there? yes.
all of the weight was still there.
she nodded, "it hurts a lot, yeah."

Sylph Resurgence

A month has passed since Night Wing's incursion on the capital of Nirvania, Nirvana. However, that isn't the end of Nirvania's problems, with war against its warmongering neighbour, Miran looking ever more likely than before. To make matters worse, tensions have been stoked between the Sylph Kingdom and Nirvania by the Chaos Legion, the true enemies hiding in the darkness, opening the possibility to a war on 2 fronts. Kai may only be a 2nd Year student at Zion Academy, but the raging storms of this chaotic era spare no one, especially given his close ties to Adeline, the Sylph Princess. Can Kai circumvent the tides of chaos and live to see the end of what is likely to be a 3rd Holy War? Will Nirvania stand strong against its foes, or crumble and be washed away by the sands of time? 2 years had passed since the conclusion of the 3rd Holy War, which was achieved by the combined efforts of the Nirvanian Army, the 10 Saints and Kai's team, which have been affectionately known thereafter as the Rising 8; a group of rapidly rising youths revered as national heroes for their contributions in putting an end to the 3rd Holy War. Moreover, relations between all 4 Kingdoms on the Central Continent, namely Nirvania, Miran, Cameron and the Sylph Kingdom, have reached unprecedented heights, ushering an age of peace. However, danger lies ever closer, with the Chaos Legion staying low over the past 2 years, awaiting the perfect opportunity to rear its ugly head. Even though Kai had trained hard over the past 2 years to master both his demonic and Sylph ancestry, when the battle has evolved from between mortals to that of the seemingly immortal Chaos Generals, can Kai and his fellow Nirvanians rise above the odds with their allies and vanquish the chaos?

2nd Chance
It's my first time writing a story so you might spot a lot of amateur mistakes but feel free to criticize my writing as much as you like. Anyways, to give you a quick idea of what the story is all about, the original title of this novel was supposed to be "The Yankee in Another World" but when I thought about writing that in the cover I immediately thought 'HELL NAW' and went with a different one and I feel like the new title captures the essence of this story more. because although it's categorized as an Isekai, the story is more focused on redemption rather than the Isekai fantasy. Hopefully, I'll be able to update this synopsis once I thought of one.

The Lucky Secret

Namely, surviving the Tower and its homicidal salamanders and zombies and weirdly affectionate cats, and learning the truth behind the existence of the amulet titled "The Writer's Secret". Cilian isn't particularly athletic, given he spent six years glued to a computer chair, and the Tower can only give him so much strength before he's considered a lost cause, and he's not prepared in the slightest for this. He's a bit weak, he hates killing, and spends more time screaming than he does actually fighting, but if there's one thing he's got going for him, it's his impressive self-perseveration skills.
