《Little Dark Age ◆ JeonJungkook✔》Six - There's A New Sheriff In Town

It was like the time you met Jungkook first - hopefulness bloomed inside you, ready to break out of your chest and envelope you in the childish thought that 'everything was going to be fine'.
When you heard the voice of a stranger - another human - deep, pleasant and hoarse, sort of rough around the edges, your body had turned around all on itself, heart beat increasing with anticipation.
For some odd reason Jungkook had tried to stop you, had reached out for you wrist, as if he wanted to pull you away but didn't - his fingers just rested loosely around your arm, while you looked up at the stranger whose voice had felt like heaven just now.
He stood on top of a heap of cars, that had once all crashed into each other. His figure relatively slim compared to Jungkook, black, oversized shirt fluttering around his body, ripped black jeans and a pair of dirty, used vans. He looked pretty pale, almost unhealthily you noticed, slander fingers wrapped around an old messenger back he had carelessly thrown over his shoulder. You couldn't see his face clearly, as he was standing right in front of the setting sun, but what caught your attention was the holster on his belt, that you were pretty sure contained a gun.
The stranger moved languidly, steps light and casual as he hopped off the car, coming closer until you were able to see his face clearly.
Fluffy, black hair that was gradually growing out, intelligent, piercing eyes that were slightly tilted upwards, fine eyebrows and a cute nose that made him look out right pretty.
His expression was rather dull, though you did see a glint of curiosity in his eyes, making you assume that his face just was a typical case of resting bitch face.
Behind him climbed a blonde woman over the cars with a serious expression, face and whole over aura seeming somewhat aristocratic. She was holding a large military knife, in a way that made you immediately understand that she knows how to use it, body language rather wary.
The pretty boy now stopped in front of you, Jungkook still holding onto you from behind. Black-hair eyed you with an impassive look, expression impossible to read, while the woman caught up with him.

"Jesus Christ," She said, scrutinizing Jungkook and you in a more open manner, "I can't believe it. How long have you guys been out here?"
You're a shy person. You usually weren't the one answering first. Jungkook didn't know that, because he'd never seen you interact with anyone else but him.
You turned around in search of help, seeing your companion looking unusually hostile.
"W-We sorta lost track of time by now." You answered eventually, "But I wasn't always with him - I met him a few weeks after it happened."
"How do you defend yourself?" This was the first time pretty boy addressed you, after having assessed both of you carefully, "I don't see any weapon."
Your lips twitched and you pointed behind your with your thumb, "I have him."
Jungkook jammed the scythe into the ground as if wanting to underline your words.
Pretty boy smirked, "Seems a little impractical, no? Or, at least unusual." - referring to the ridiculously large weapon.
"I'm doin' fine." Jungkook answered, voice dripping hostility in a way you'd never heard before.
The woman cocked a brow, serious attitude managing to both intimidate and make you feel assured, "Girl, your friend seems a bit upset."
You shrugged helplessly, never having experienced Jungkook like that, "Don't mind him."
"Looks like he's hard to get along with." Pretty boy pointed out, slightly provocative.
Jungkook's hand around your wrist tensed, "No, he's actually-" You started, the woman cutting you off quickly.
"Let's not stay in the middle of the street for too long." She announced grimly.
You nodded, giving the two strangers a crooked smile, "We have a car."
"Y/N we shouldn't-" Jungkook protested.
"Y/N, huh?" The black-haired grinned, reaching out his hand for you to shake, reminding you of Jungkook who did the same thing when you first met, "Min Yoongi. Nice to meet you."
You took his hand clumsily, glancing at the other stranger who just looked around impatiently.
"That tense know-it-all doing nothing but worry is Moonbyul." Yoongi provided helpfully.
You couldn't help but to smile, "Well, that scythe-swinging idiot behind me, who decided to be anti-social all of a sudden, is Jungkook."
"Nice to meet you too, Jungkook." Yoongi beamed, awfully provocative again.

He walked towards the man, who stiffened at the other's actions, patting his shoulder with a grin, "Lead the way to that magnificent car of yours!"
Jungkook snorted, throwing the scythe over his shoulder (almost beheading you) giving in eventually and leading the way.
Your eyes followed the two guys stunned, Moonbyul rushing past you with decided stomps reminding you of not lingering too long.
"Wow." Yoongi whistled when you reached the car, "Not too bad. Seems like the apocalypse does have it's pros, huh?"
"It does it's job." You retorted smiling, a little thrown off when Moonbyul just sat down on the passenger seat without any words, dead serious as always, apparently, "T-That's my seat." You mumbled.
Moonbyul shrugged, "Kids go in the back."
"This smartass here doesn't," Jungkook was quick to react, dragging Moonbyul out of the car, making her yelp shocked, "Newbies go in the back."
Yoongi didn't complain, just chuckled quietly while making himself comfortable on the seat right behind yours.
"Did you see any prowlers on your way?" You asked, remembering that they came from an opposite direction.
"Prowlers?" Yoongi echoed.
Why is everyone making fun of the name?
"S' what she named these things." Jungkook grunted, before letting the engine roar to life.
"That's cute." Yoongi said, poking your back from behind, "We just called them Zombies."
"We didn't see any." Moonbyul answered your question, "There was one in the grocery store though."
"Finished him off." Jungkook said bluntly, turning the steering wheel unusually abrupt.
"Damn, sweet-cheeks here didn't lie about you, huh?" Yoongi joked, meeting silence with Jungkook.
This was so strange.
This was not the Jungkook you knew at all.
Not the blunt, mouthy, sort of vulgar Jungkook you got to know. Jungkook was always cheerful and easy-going in any situation. Not ever have you seen him that hostile, not even when being cornered by hundreds of prowlers.
"Let's - find a less constructed area and assess what we have first." You announced, making Jungkook comply as usual - at least this was still the same.
"Whatever you say." Yoongi seemed amused.
___
You had parked on a small hill, no prowlers near (besides one, but Jungkook had taken care of it under the ironic cheering of Yoongi) Moonbyul, Yoongi and you exchanging information outside the car while Jungkook was leaning against the cowling.
After a couple of minutes you were done and you left the two new members of your little travel group to sit atop of the cowling, next to Jungkook.
"Okay." You nudged his side, "What's up?"
"Hm? What you mean?" He looked at you, trying to hide his annoyance.
"You've been acting weird. What do you not like about the situation?"
Jungkook eyed you for a moment, before sighing, "I don't- I don't trust them. I mean- dude's a college student, how in hell did he get a gun?"
"There are many ways I can come up with." You gave to think.
"And the girl- damn, she's scary. Like, you and I both know that she knows a little too well how to use that knife."
"Jungkook. You're saying these things while being able to swing a scythe like a fucking assassin." You laughed, "I mean- a scythe. Who in hell knows how to use a scythe as a weapon to slice people's heads off?" It felt weird, saying this out loud. Like, you'd always thought these things but never said them out loud. Because your past was taboo.
"It's different for me, short stuff." He said, standing up straighter to show that he was more relaxed, small smile playing around his lips, "You know you can trust me-" He averted his gaze.
"-but they...", You followed his line of sight, his eyes sternly fixed on your new companions that were trying to figure out the old road map Jungkook had found inside the car, "I'm not so sure about them yet. I have a bad feeling about them."
You grinned, gently nudging your propped up knee into his side, "You sure you aren't just jealous because there's another guy?"
Jungkook cackled, hand coming up to swat the back of your head like so often, "Don't take yourself for so important, kiddo."
You laughed, feeling happy to see Jungkook act more like his usual self.
You slid down the car to go back to the other two, not missing the way Jungkook's eyes flashed when they fell onto Yoongi.
