"Hahah no way!" I laughed at Marwan's joke. Marwan invited me to Starbucks on him and we were talking about jokes of our past. "Remember when I used to call you Princissa?" He said. "Yea and I called you JERK!" I laughed. Just then, I got a call from the university. I've been in Canada for a month now, and I've been getting great grades! "Hello, sorry who is this?" I asked. "It's me. And you better BACK OFF from my boyfriend." Said thr voice. It was a deep voice of a girl. I walked back to the table. "What's up? You good?" He asked. "Just some call from the university saying 'It's me. And you better BACK OFF from my boyfriend.'" I said, mimicking the tone of the girl that said that to me. "Hey, a-" I started, then shut my mouth. There wasn't any point to spoil our awesome time.
"Kay see you soon?" Marwan asked. "Yea." I nodded my head. I walked out of his green Corvette, still the same one as that year he took Dalia and I out for ice cream. I will never forget that day....Ahhhh memories. "Wait! Ahem- wait. Your purse." Marwan said, handing me my Louis Vutton purse. "Thanks. Now I really gotta go." I said. "Belsalaama." Marwan said. That means 'With Peace' in Arabic. A lot of people say that when they are leaving someone, so that when they see them again, they see eachother again they see them peacfully. I opened the door to my dorm room and Dalia wasn't there. Hmm, for SURE with Mohamed, I thought. I flopped on my bed and smiled to myself. "Alhamdullallah for this wonderful world."

I walked into the house and saw Mama with a worried expression painted all over her face. "Where were you?!" Before I could even reply to her question, she interupted me. "You were with that girl- Mariam, right? Marwan! SMARTEN UP! You will be getting married to Amani soon. I CAN NOT have you going out with other girls! And ESPECIALY with HER!!" I was done with this. "And what if I don't WANT to marry Amani? Mama this is MY life. With all due respect, can't I, MYSELF choose it?!" I stormed up to my room in tears. I slammed my door. I felt so sick🤧. I don't like her, I just....Fine, I do. Sorta! Fine, I love her and want to ask her out. There was a knock at my door. I asked who it was, but there was no answer....And it wasn't Mama and Baba's knock....They had a special one for when I was younger. They'd say "Shasha" really quietly. May sound childish, but not to me loll don't make fun of me😂! I asked again and no answer. I opened the door and Amani came in and pushed me on my bed. "Hey hon'! I missed you so I came to see you!" She said. Then she hugged me and kissed me on the cheek, and NOT in a friendly way! Just for the record, it is HARAM to kiss the oppostite sex in a non friend way! And even if you were the same sex, it's Haram to kiss in the non friendly way as well! "Ahhhh! MAMA HELP!" I yelled out loud. She came running in my room and I told her everything.
"So you're telling me that Amani, your cousin KISSED you?" Mama questioned. Right now, the whole fam was sitting in the living room. "I didn't expect this from you Amani," Mama started, getting up. "Wedding's off." Mama said and walked away. "YESSS!!" Baba and I yelled together. Amani started crying and left with her Mom, slamming the door behind them.

"Who could she be though. I mean she's in our university, cuz she used the university phones." Dalia remarked. Yep, I told her about that girl. "Wait! What if it's a guy?!" I asked. "Nah don't even....Also, what guy was she talking about?" She asked. We thought for a few minutes. "Oh well maybe it could b-" Dalia was interupted by her phone. Her ringtone, for the night played. "I've done some wrong, but i'm always right-" "Hello, who is it?" Dalia answered, not even looking at the caller ID. Ugh, I hate it when people do that. I rolled my eyes at her. She threw a pillow at me and I fell over. "YOU WANNA GO?!" I said, bursting in laughter. Dalia put herself on mute. "Shut the Mariam up! Oh my God I'm on the phone with my MOM! Now she's going to get worried I put her on mute!" Dalia laughed😂. "Awwwwwww muffin." I said🥺. Ohhhhh I LUV sharing a dorm with Dalia! "I can't say the same about you." Dalia sa- WAIT WAIT WAIT! HOLD UP. She just read my thoughts! "I know, i'm phsycic!" Dalia said.
Dalia finnished her call and then turned to me. "So, you didn't answe my question. Let's list all of the guys you've been in contact with over the month. Since we were at the university actually. OUUUU THIS WILL BE LIKE THOSE MOVIES WHEN THEY WANT TO FIND THE CRIMINAL! I'll get the read strings and pins!" Dalia said, jumping off the bed. "Get your body down. You can get paper though- and pens." I said. "After can we use pins?" Dalia pouted. "Ugh fine. Such a baby." I said, whispering the last part. "I HEARD THAT!!" She yelled. She's sweet, but a phsyco. Well actually, PHSYCIC!

I was just like everyone else. At least, I thought so. Everyone grew up in a mansion with servants, trained to be a debutante, had a traveling archeologist for a father, and gave it all up to do whatever the hell they wanted. Right? Well that’s what I did. I was happy. As happy as a single twenty four year old girl can be living in an apartment selling shit online to pay the bills. Not actual shit, that's gross. No, I bought stuff from garage sales, thrift stores, and junk shops, and resold it in my online store. I was pretty good at finding stuff to peddle to my customers. I made rent every month and didn’t have to strip. I’m a bit too chunky to swing around a pole anyway. Life was great! Until two sexy men broke into my apartment and woke me up from the most erotic dream my sexually depraved mind could come up with. One was between my legs, the other was... Oh well, it was a dream and I didn’t even get to finish it. Those bastards! Now I’m supposed to believe my dead father wasn’t an archeologist, but some kind of paranormal agent working for a secret organization called The Guard. My ability to find items for my customers is just a perk inherited from him. And I’m supposed to use my inherited powers to save the world. All while these hunks of man flesh guard me from other paranormals out to get whatever the hell they think I have. A certain body part is dripping with excitement, literally. But my mind is saying “Hell No!”
