《KuroxReader》Chapter 1: Meeting Kuro

It all started when I was a kid. I was all alone back then, 'cause my mum died in an accident at work. I had no siblings. I was the only child in the family, which was a bit boring, seeing that I had no one to play with at home. Apart from my friends, of course. My relatives didn't know what to do with me. Then my aunt took me in. But she died a couple of months ago.
I was walking down the street, approaching the shops. But then I looked to my left and caught my eye on a little black kitten. It was all alone and a bit dirty. No one seemed to notice it, or they were just ignoring it. So I picked it up and ran home. I cleaned him and fed him, then I put a collar with a bell around his neck. "There you go, little guy! Perfect! What should I call you? Hmm... Oh, I got it! I'll name you Kuro." It was such a cute little kitten. But little did I know that I was inviting danger into my life...
I get out of bed and get ready for school. I walk towards the door to leave the house. "Ok, Kuro, I'm-" Then Kuro stands in front of me and meows. I pick him up. "What's wrong, Kuro? Don't you want me to go?" He does nothing. Then I have an idea. "Lick my finger for yes and don't for no." He licks my finger. "Look, Kuro. I have to. I would take you with me, but we're not allowed pets at school." He brushes his fur against my cheek. "I'm sorry, Kuro." Then I plant a kiss on his forehead and say goodbye. "I won't be too long! I think." Then I close the door behind me and sigh. Then I walk to school with my friends. "Hey, guys." "Hey, (Y/N)?" One of them asks. "What's up?" She giggles and says, "Do you have crush on a boy?" I blush. "What?! No! Well, I used to." "Oh, yeah? Who? Tell us!" The others agree. "He likes to keep things simple..." I say as we walk onto the school yard. "There's a couple of boys who like to keep things simple. Just say their name." " Fine. It's... M-Mahiru Shirota..." Then I blush again as they gasp. "No way! Seriously?!" "Shut up! Keep your voices down!" I look around, then I see Mahiru. He turns around and catches my eye and smiles at me. I smile back. Then I turn around to the girls again. "We're sorry, we just got excited." I shake my head, then the bell goes. "Gotta get to class, bye!" Then I walk off. I sigh in relief. "Hey." I jump. I look to my left and blush. "Oh! M-Mahiru! Uh, hi!" "What have you got now?" "Uh, Biology." "So do I. You wanna walk to class together?" I couldn't turn him down. It'd just be rude. "Uh, sure!" "Great! Let's go." I nod, and we walk off.

I walk back home, exhausted. I open the door and say, "Kuro, I'm home." Then I see a light in the sitting room and hear voices which is basically the TV. I'm sure I turned the TV off... Wait a sec! I didn't even watch TV today! I walk toward the sitting room and stop when I see someone sitting in front of the TV and eating potato chips. They're wearing a blue parka with a black fur hood. They turn around. I gasp. "Wha- What the crap?! Who the hell are you?!" They sigh and look back at the screen. "This is turning out to be so bothersome, I could just die." He moans. I grab a baseball bat that my friend left here and yell, "Get outta my house!" Then I try to hit him, but he jumps out of the way and lands behind me. "Wow. What a violent kid. So scary. I can't face you." I go for another attack, but I slip and pull the curtain, letting in a beam of light. "Ow..." Then I look in front of me and see Kuro lying on the ground. "Huh? Kuro? Where did..." Then I close the curtains again and the guy appears. I scream. "What do you think you're doing? I'm not supposed to be in the sunlight, so keep those shut, alright?" I scoot back an inch. "W-what in the world are you?" "Nothing special. I'm just a vampire shut in." I start to sweat. "That's it! You're leaving out the window!" I say as I grab the end of his parka and drag him towards the window. "No! What's wrong with you?! Are you thick?! I'm a vampire! I'll die! Even though I'm immortal, but still!" I stop and he faces me. "Why are you humans such cruel creatures?" "Shut up!" I gasp. "A- A vampire?!" I step back. "Are you going to kill me? Will you bite me and drink all my blood?!" He sighs. "Sounds like a lot of work. Why would I do something so bothersome? And what makes you think that I would attack a human like you? You think highly of yourself." "You should attack! You're a vampire!" "And don't jump to conclusions when you're judging people. But I am getting kinda thirsty. Could you make me some tea?" "Argh! Where do I even begin with you?!" He sits up. "Start by calming down a bit. I'll leave when it gets dark. Just don't say my name when I'm in my human form." "Huh? How can I do that? I've got no idea who the hell you are. I only know the name that I called you as a cat- Kuro." Once I said Kuro, something happened to my arm and something happened to his neck. It looked like a blue ring kind of thingy. Then it disappeared. I blink. He sighs. "You're so stupid, I could die." I grab his collar and shake him. "What the hell just happened?!" "Why is this happening to me...?" "Quit ignoring me! Explain!" "Explaining is such a pain..." "I don't care! I want answers!"

Kingmaker
This story is on hiatus/abandonned. People die, then that's all... or at least, it should be that way. There may be anomalies, yes – the occasional hero of old getting reincarnated for some obscure purpose – but who knows what the gods are thinking. If they are thinking at all. If there are gods, to begin with. What would explain such a mistake, then? The hero mark wasn't given to our reborn champion, but to his perfectly normal sister. A prank from these mindless gods, perhaps. Luckily for him, he was done with this hero business and had other plans for his new life, so it's all good... Here is the story of one who isn't meant to stand among heroes, kings and emperors anymore, yet will find himself holding power over them.
