Like Y/N feared things got busy at school. Both for her and Kuroo. So there barely was anytime to talk to each other, even via texting. School would last till afternoon and then there was tons of homework. Y/N didn't expect anything less. This was a critical year.

Both she and Kuroo would steal a few minutes of conversation after school and at night texting. But still it wasn't enough.

One day Y/N was returning home from school as usual. She of course expected Kuroo to pop out from a corner again and walk together. But he didn't show up.

Y/N felt sad since this was one of the few times they could meet and he wasn't there.She just assumed that he had a lot of homework or an exam was coming up so she rushed straight to his house. But wouldn't he have called her to tell her he wouldn't walk with her today?...

When Y/N arrived home she decided to text him just to see if everything was fine.

"Hey Tetsurō. Is everything okay?"

"Oh hey princess. Yeah everything's fine why you ask?"

"You didn't show up today on my way home and I just got a little worried".

"No baby everything is fine. My mom just needed some help with something so as soon as school ended I rushed home".

"Oh okay..."

"Now sorry babe I would stay and text but I have a looot of homework".

"Okay baby. Love you❤"

"Me too❣"

Something about his texting felt wrong to her. Even if he had a lot of homework before, he wouldn't be on such a rush and end the conversation that quickly and coldly. Even his own "I love you too" had a cold feel to it.

'Maybe I'm just imagining it..."

In the next few days Y/N didn't receive any texts or calls from Kuroo. And she didn't want to text or call him herself because she felt like she would be annoying. So she just patiently waited.

In this interval they weren't walking back from school together either. It was like she suddenly walked into her previous single life once again. Like Kuroo wasn't there anymore...

She couldn't stand them not talking for so long. It even made her think that she did something wrong. Maybe it was about the thing they've fought before...

Maybe Kuroo is indeed getting bored of her...

All these bad thoughts made her cry...

When she suddenly got a call.

She immediately looked at the caller and to her disappointment it wasn't Kuroo...

It was actually Kia.

She didn't know if she actually wanted to pick up or call her later. She really wasn't in the mood for hanging out right now.

In the end she answered.

"Hey Kia what's up?"

"Hey Y/N-chan.Is this a bad time?"

'It is actually'

"No it's not. What's wrong?"

"Umm I don't know how to put this...well actually...do you think I can come over? I have to talk to you".

"Yeah sure".

"Okay I'll be there in 10 minutes"

End of call.

Y/N's voice was trembling at the end. Her throat felt dry and her eyes we're all teary. What was it that she wanted to talk about?

It couldn't be good. She sounded way too serious. Whatever it was in those 10 agonizing minutes of waiting for Kia she was preparing herself for the worst scenarios.

Finally Kia was at her doorstep. Y/N rushed over to the door and opened it, to find a very serious-faced Kia.

"Hey come in"

"Thanks"

They both walked to the living room.

"Do you want some water or tea or anything else?"

"No I'm fine thank you"

Y/N sat beside her on the couch.

"So what's wrong?"

"Well...how do I start?"

"Firstly tell me what is it that you want to talk about"

"Okay...it's about...Kuroo"

The first crack.

"What about him?"

"He has been hanging out a lot with one of our substitute teachers lately..."

The second crack.

"Substitute teacher? Why?"

"I can't really answer that...all I know is that I've seen them talking alone in the hallways before. I have even seen them behind the school or even outside the bathrooms. And I'm pretty sure she drives off with Kuroo after school..."

The third and final crack.

Y/N was speechless. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. She didn't want to believe it. Could her boyfriend actually have an affair with a teacher? Why would he do it though. She thought they were in love...

At least she was...

But...

She didn't really know about Kuroo anymore...

"Okay..."

"Okay? That's your reaction? I just told you that your boyfriend might be having an affair with a teacher and that's all you got?"

"I KNOW WHAT YOU TOLD ME. DO YOU THINK I DON'T?"

Y/N suddenly snapped and started crying.

"Do you think I don't?..."she repeated more calmly.

"No...sorry..."

Kia got closer to her and gave her a big hug to calm her down. She knew that it was hard...

The next day Y/N felt so lucky that it was Saturday. She really wasn't in the mood for school. She just wanted to cover herself with her sheets and stay in bed all day. She was still devastated from yesterday's news.

Still no message or call from Kuroo.

Maybe that was it...

Well...it was good for as long it lasted.

'Back to single life I guess'

A tear went down her cheek.
