《With You [Cannon Kuroo x reader]》Nekoma Matches

(I believe this chapter could be skip able because it's just the games happening, if you read the title)
All four schools, that were competing at this time, came out to warm up. While the girls were in the bleachers, along with the students, parents, and volunteering teachers, the teams were all down in the courts competing.
"Kuroo san, are you nervous?" Kenma asked.
"Huh? Of course I am." Kuroo answered, "Look at who we're up against."
After Kuroo said that, the crowd was cheering for Fukurodani, but mainly Bokuto. He tossed his jacket up high, which Akaashi had caught in the background, as he enjoyed the praises from the people around him.
While Fukurodani High cheered in the background, Akane decided to start cheering as well. She told everyone stand up and start the chants.
Akane raised her hand high and yelled into the microphone, "Go, go Nekoma!"
Everyone, who was a part of Nekoma, followed Akane and started cheering sayinging, "Go, go Nekoma! Push it push it Nekoma!"
Y/N and Arisa followed along and clapped while Akane yelled some more chants into the microphone.
"Great job, Cheer captain Akane!" one of the teachers congradulated
Akane gave him a smile and looked back at Y/N and Arisa who gave her a thumbs up.
Yaku and Yamamoto heard Nekoma's chants from the crowd, even though Fukurodani was really loud.
"I see your little sister's as excited as ever," Yaku commented.
"Sorry about that," Yamamoto proudly apologized.
"Um also," Yaku started.
From the crowds, Arisa yelled to Lev, "You've got this Levochka!"
"Who's Levo ... whatever?" Akane asked.
"It's Lev san's nickname," Arisa replied with a smile.
"Wow that's super cute," Akane commented.
Y/N giggled at the conversation between Akane and Arisa.
From the court, Lev, Yamamoto, and Yaku were standing there.
"I see that Lev san's sister is as hot as usual." Yaku commented.
"I know right," Lev replied, "but aren't you dating me?"
"S-shut up Lev san," Yaku said in embarrassment, "what kind of question is that."
After that moment, the teams were called up to play. The first game for Nekoma was against Fukurodani. Both teams bowed down after getting in a line and said "let's play", before actually playing.
Kuroo said his usual speech, "We're basically blood, we need to make sure we keep flowing without a hitch. Make sure the oxygen circulates so the brain could do his job."
While Nekoma was talking about their game plan, Fukurodani did otherwise.
"Akaashi san, do we need to do the usual?" Yukie asked, "The thing where we tell Bokuto san that a girl in some row says that he's super cool."
Akaashi flat out said, "No I don't think we're going to need to do that today."
The games were now starting and Fukurodani got to serve first. Sarukui served the ball and the games began. Yaku received the ball with ease and yelled "got it". The ball was sent over to Kenma and he set it over to kuroo, who eventually spiked the ball earning a point for Nekoma.
"Yeah!" Kuroo cheered as he gave Kenma a high five.
It was Nekoma's turn to serve and Yamamoto was up to represent the team. Yamamoto tossed the ball up and Konoha received it, replying to Sarukui with a "got it". The ball was then passed to Akaashi so he could easily set it to Bokuto.
"It's been a while since we started with so little hesitation," Akaashi thought as the ball came towards him.

Akaashi set the ball over to Bokuto, and he spiked it down. The ball hit Kuroo's finger before landing in the bleachers, into Akane's hands. The Nekoma team members, in the benches, and the crowd were in awe with Bokuto's spiking ability.
"Hey Hey Hey!" Bokuto cheered, happy with the spike and the crowd's reaction.
"He sure knows how to work the crowd," Kuroo commented.
Another game had started after the intense cheering. Akaashi had set another ball to Bokuto, in hopes of making it to the other side. Yaku picked up where Bokuto wanted to spike and he easily received the ball.
"Nice! He's lucky that the ball came right at him!" Arisa cheered.
"That's not true," Akane disagreed, "I think Yaku kun positioned himself to where the ball was going."
"I think so too Akane san, it may look like he was already there to an untrained eye," Y/N agreed, "but to a trained eye, like yourself, you could see that he read the spike."
"Wait he could do that?" Arisa asked the two girls.
Akane and Y/N both nodded as they watched to intense game. Arisa saw Kenma setting a ball to Nobuyuki and receiving another point.
Many games were played one after the other, while the teams scored more points.
"Another beautiful play, the ball's just floating." Arisa commented.
Y/N and Akane watched in awe as the ball was in the air. Another set was made by Kenma and Fukunaga spiked the ball over. Luckily Saurkui was there to receive the ball and it was passed over to Akaashi. Akaashi easily set the ball over to Bokuto and he made it over. The ball was received by Kenma, but the ball bounced off the wrong way. Bokuto and the crowd cheered after gaining another point for his team.
"It seems like Kuroo san stuffed Bokuto san a whole lot more during our 3 - on - 3." Lev said.
"But I think the back has an easier time receiving the ball because of Kuroo san's blocks." Yuki added.
The coach called a time out so the teams could recollect their thoughts. In the background, both teams could hear Akane's voice cheering for Nekoma along with the students from Fukurodani who were obviously cheering for their school.
"Bokuto loves cross shots, but his line shots are one point today," Kenma whispered to himself out loud.
"Who can say? We both know how unpredictable he can be," Akkashi said back to Kenma.
The teams finally split up to talk to their coaches.
"Bokuto san is in top form today," Kenma said to his team mates, "Yaku san as well."
"Yeah I can see really clearly today!" Yaku replied after he drank his water.
Kuroo looked up where the Nekoma bleachers were and spotted Y/N. The two accidentally made eye contact and blushed from across the court.
"Hmm she looks really cute in my clothes, even from a far." Kuroo thought.
"Ah Y/N chan I think Kuroo is looking at you right now." Arisa pointed out.
"Oh yeah I saw, I looked at him too." Y/N replied with a blush still on her face.
"That's super cute Y/N chan." Akane added.
Y/N still couldn't get the picture out of her head. Kuroo was just drinking water while sweating in his uniform. Even though they have been dating for a couple months now, his physical features still amaze her just like his mental abilities.
Kuroo still couldn't get that picture out of his head either. TO Kuroo, Y/n was some sort of being that fascinates him more than science, in a good way. He really liked the fact that the hoodie still remained on her and how she was making eye contact with him, making him know that she was still there to support him. Kuroo was now paying attention to what Kenma was saying.

"Bokuto san is hitting his line shots very well today." Kenma said explaining the game to his team members, "And he is keenly aware that Yaku san is waiting to receive his cross shots."
"We have been forming our blocks for cross shots, but should we change over to line shots?" Nobuyuki suggested.
"Yeah but..." Kenma started, "let's wait until Bokuto san gets a bit more comfortable with his line shots first."
Kuroo gave Kenma a smile because of his attentiveness. The time out was over and the game continued.
"One touch!" Kuroo yelled as he blocked a ball.
Nekoma was able to spike it over and mixed up Fukurodani's team positions. It took a while to get the ball over to Akaashi so he could set it over to Bokuto once again. Kuroo then stopped Bokuto from spiking over to their court with a powerful block.
"Nice block!" Lev cheered from the benches.
The team mates from the benches cheered as well. Y/N gave Alisa and Akane both a high five.
"The block ... they switched positions." Akaashi thought (they meaning Kuroo and Kenma).
"I need to take the spotlight once in a while." Kuroo said to Bokuto.
"That's because your girlfriend is watching," Bokuto replied in a competitive tone, "and it's only once so far!"
"I can't believe they broke through!" Akane said while Arisa was in awe.
"They finally blocked one," Y/N cheered giving the two another high five.
The pointed were now 16 - 18, with Nekoma behind Fukutodani.
"Now let's start deliberately shut down Bokuto san's line shots," Kenma decided as he explained the next plan to the team.
"You got it," Yamamoto replied.
Another game had started and Fukurodani's libero had received the ball from the Nekoma spiker. Even though the receive was a bit off, Akaashi tried his best to set the ball over to Bokuto. The Nekoma defense was watching Bokuto's movements, trying to read the spike and eventually receiving it. Bokuto accidentally spiked the ball out the court, because of the lack of choices, earning Nekoma another point. The score was now 17 to 18, with Nekoma catching upi from behind.
"Argh! I'm sorry!" Bokuto apologized in fustration.
While Coach Nekomata had a smile on his face, Coach Manabu said, "All right, our defense has gotten in it's groove! Now we need one more point to hype the team up!"
"Heck yeah! Here comes Nekoma's ace!" Lev whisper yelled to himself.
"You can do it, Levochka!" Arisa cheered for her brother.
Yaku then pointed to Lev as he was walking out, "Hey, your sister's stealing the spotlight from you today, better step up your game titan."
"I know that!" Lev yelled back.
Another game was starting and Kuroo was now serving. The ball almost made it out the court, but Konoha received it well and the ball made it over to the other side of the court. Yamamoto was ablt to received the ball after he called it. Lev ran up to spike the ball that Kenma set and he barely made it over. Luck was on Fukurodani's side and Konoha had received the ball once again.
Lev jumped up while saying, "This time I'll..."
Instead of spiking it correctly, like he should, Lev missed like the amateur he was costing the team a point.
"I'm so sorry!" Arisa sniffled.
Y/N patted her back, trying to comfort her saying, "It's okay mistakes happen, at least he's trying right?"
"S-Stuff like this even happens in international matches." Akane said, also trying to lift up Arisa's spirit, "don't worry about it!"
Coach Nekomata called in a time out after the unfortunate loss. Kuroo looked up at the bleachers while drinking his water and wiping his sweat. He saw Y/N and Akane trying to lift Arisa's spirits after the recent fail. Kuroo giggled at this a bit before looking away. Cheering started to happen again after the comforting, with Akane still leading the school well. While the rest were taking a break, Coach Nekomata wanted to talk to Kenma.
"Kenma kun, I'm counting on you to take care of Lev kun." Coach Nekomata said as Kenma's normal face turned into a disgusted one, "You sure do have the most expressive face sometimes."
"You're panicking and trying way too hard all the time." Kenma said after making his way to Lev.
"Kenma san." Lev replied in slight shock, mainly because Kenma was giving him advice.
"At least look at the ball. Also, don't lower your elbows." Kenma continued, "You need to prioritize height over speed."
"Wait don't say that all at once!" Lev complained.
"By the way, I've already told you all of this before." Kenma added to his list of advice.
"When Kenma san gets like this, he's way scarier than Taketora san or Yaku san!" Lev thought in his head.
Kenma just sighed, "You're still nowhere near as good a Shoyo san."
Lev was stunned at Kenma's latest comment, on his playing of course. The time out was over and another game started, with Bokuto serving. Yaku and Nobuyuki prepared to receive the ball while Bokuto tossed it into the air. Nobuyuki was able to receive it well and the ball made it over to Kenma, who set it over to Lev.
"Don't lower your elbows ... don't lower your elbows." Lev repeated mentally.
He managed to spike the ball with ease. The ball was saved once again by Konaha from Fukurodani and Yamamoto wasn't able to pick it up again, allowing Fukurodani to score another well deserved point. Fukurodani cheered loudly for Konoha's recent save in the background. A student then yelled a personal insult to Konoha earning a reaction from the man himself.
"Damn it! I'm definitely turning this around." Lev said in fustration.
"Probably not happening in this set." Kenma replied with a smart remark.
"That's not.." Lev started.
"Don't panic. Everything is coming together." Kenma added in his usual monotone voice.
Akane started to lead Nekoma's cheers once again, with Arisa and Y/n following along. Another game had started and Kenma was able to set to Lev once again. He managed to spike the ball down correctly on the other side of the court, earning Nekoma a point after a long time.
"I like how high Lev kun hits that ball!" Akane said in her head, making the people around her kind of aware that she likes Lev.
"Does Akane chan.." Arisa started.
"Like Lev san?" Y/N whispered over to Arisa, finishing her sentence.
Arisa turned over to Y/N's driection and continued to whisper, "If those two get married, Akane chan will be my little sister!"
"Oh um yeah sure," Y/N replied back in a slightly awkward tone.
"Oh my goodness what should we do Y/N chan?" Arisa asked Y/N back.
"I actually don't know, but you can think what you think I guess." Y/N answered.
"God did Lev san not tell her yet?" Y/N thought.
Another game had started while Arisa kept talking.
"We could go shopping? We could go shopping right, especially if we bring you along!" Arisa spoke as she held on to Y/N's hands, "We could go shopping and-"
Lev automatically missed his serve really badly, creating a small scowl on Akane's face.
Arisa's face went blank and stopped talking right after that.
"Arisa san are you okay?" Y/N asked as she lightly shook Arisa.
"Sorry about that!" Lev yelled from the court.
Since Lev messed up the last serve, that earned Fukurodani a point, allowing the enemy to wim. The final score was 21 - 25, with Nekoma losing the first set.
Before the new set started, Coach Nekomata gave the team a mini talk about their defense. Kuroo was busy looking up at the bleachers where Y/N was.
"Oi Kuroo san, pay attention we already lost the first set," Yaku warned.
"Okay okay Demon Senpai, I was just checking on my lovely girl friend from a far." Kuroo replied.
"You know at first I didn't even know if she was your girl friend or not, seemed like a lie since she didn't seem like the type to be a attracted to you." Yaku fought back after he drank his water.
"Yeah same goes for you and Lev san," Kuroo remarked.
Yaku started choking on his water before he said, "Shut up you don't know anything."
Another set had started and it started out well enough. Lev had started out well and was able to block a spike coming for Fukurodani. The two schools eventually made it over to match point and didn't stop playing until someone won, like they should.
"Nekoma's defense slowly fills in its gaps and solidifies itself." Akane pointed out, "Spike after spike, they'll continue picking it up. And if they concentrate too much on the ground defense, they'll get stopped by the blockers."
At that exact moment, Bokuto got blocked by Nobuyuki and Lev. After that powerful block, Akane led another cheer and everyone joined.
"Bokuto san, I think you're too worried about their receivers." Akaashi pointed out, "If they happen to dig your spikes, we'll just hit the ball back over again."
"I just can't seem to do cross shots today." Bokuto replied, "I mean, even of I wanted to hit a cross shot, my body just keeps hitting line shots.
"Bokuto san's weakness number 37..." Akaashi thought, "when he's excelling at a certain aspect of his game..."
"Wait, how do I even hit a cross shot?" Bokuto said, interrupting Akaashi's train of thought.
"...sometimes he'll completely forget how to do everything else." Akaahi finished.
The entire team was in shock after Bokuto had spilled his issue. Akaashi looked over at his coach asking for a time out, through an eye contact and a nod. Bokuto kept on complaining about his spikes to the team, as they all listened attentively.
"This idiot.." they all thought.
"Calm down, all is not lost yet." Akaashi thought to himself, "One good shot will get him back in shape."
Another game had started, after the time out ended, and Kenma was up to serve. Akaashi had anticipated that Kenma would serve over to Bokuto. He had asked Konoha to receive the ball before this game. Konoha did his job and the ball floated over near the net, where Akaashi was. Lev read that it was a setter's dump when it really isn't and set the ball over to Bokuto. Bokuto did his job well and cross spiked the ball over to the other side.
"That's no fair," Akane thought to herself, "that was way too cool."
The second match came to an end with Nekoma losing once again. This meant that Fukurodani had won the entire match, earning a spot at nationals. The two teams greeted each other once again before leaving to wash up. Nekoma had one more chance to play in nationals and it was to win against Nohebi. A couple of the Nekoma team members came over to the benches, near the locker rooms, to rest and talk before the next game.
"I'm ... I'm supposed to get tons of spikes, do a lot of blocks, and get tons of cheers and squees from the crowd!" Lev pouted with frustration.
"Well you did get plenty from your sister," Kenma whispered under his breath.
"You know, I can't say I dislike how straightforward and stupid you are sometimes." Kuroo added.
"I know that Nekoma's all about team work, so I know that I shouldn't do anything to upset that balance." Lev replied.
"Wow, you were actually think of that?" Kuroo said in a surprised tone.
"Well, I mean, yeah, that's pretty important. Teams can be pretty complicated." Kuroo added to his speech for Lev, "It can be difficult working with others. It's not like I'm saying that the nail that sticks needs to be hammered down."
Lev looked up at Kuroo with courage and excitement in his green eyes.
How should I put this ... I expect the moment when team work comes together feels way more satisfying than you think." Kuroo finally pointed out.
While that was going on, Kenma was looking at text messages from Hinata.
Hinata: We won today!!! We won!! We're going to nationals!!! But Ushiwaka san was super intense and Tsukishima san's finger almost broke off and I took a spike to the face!!
(exact text message btw)
Kenma was sitting where his team mates bags were, in a hall near the locker rooms. He smiled at the text message, from his phone, but with an upset face as well.
"Kenma hurry it up!" Yamamoto yelled.
