《Magic》When He Told Me His Secret... Secret Told

Warning: kisses, mild violence, and foul language is in this chapter
What are you supposed to think when your best friend tells you that he's a vampire?
At first, I laughed and thought it was a joke.
But I wasn't laughing when Connor rose his left arm, hitting me across the face.
"Ow,"
Before I felt the shock, I felt pain. Blood. I could taste it in my mouth.
I looked up at him, mortified.
"Oh, my god,"
"Look, I can explain,"
"No, don't you dare look at me, don't you dare, see me, hear me, touch me AGAIN!" I screamed as I backed away.
"Do you believe me now? I needed to tell you,"
"You can go with your vampire ass. And tell someone fucking else!" I pointed across the room towards the back door he could go to.
He looked behind him then back at me.
"Go," I whispered out with just as much anger.
He shook his head.
"Go," I yelled louder. My eyes wide, my finger still in the air.
He sighed, turning around towards the door. Opening the door a centimeter, he turned his head to the side.
"Just so you know. I didn't want to hurt you, my power is claws when it comes to my species. It was the only way you could believe me,"
Silence. I don't reply. My hand is still in the air, pointing to the door, my only way of defense with no trust what so ever in my disgusted composed look.
He looks back ahead of him, opening the door and leaves, never to be seen again.
He left me in confusion and frustration.
I cried that night. He was my best friend, perfect, loving Connor. Of course he was a vampire, all vampires have the name Connor.
Scoffing and crying, yelling into my pillows, I'm surprised my parents didn't come looking for me.
I never thought of him as more than a friend.
Connor was my best friend.
Jessie and Connor. Two peas in a pod.
Connor and Jessie.
One with two S's and one with two N's.
It was our thing. Now, I'd probably never see him again.
He's probably in the woods, scarfing down some young chic.
I shiver at the thought.
Crying and crying. My blankets curled around my body. I look like a mess, and it's only been about an hour of him leaving.
Until just a week ago, I was only his best friend.
Stupid little Jessie with a really stupid big Connor.
Everyone wanted us together.
They'd say we'd be perfect for each other. Which we were, but not in that way.
He'd always been just a friend.
But one summer he changed, catching my attention.
He was like a real boy, a real man.
Nothing much changed in my behavior though, just more girls wanted him.
I ignored that thought like I did with most things, which got me to completely forget about his changes.
His lips, his abs, his smile. That laugh.
Plump lips, hard abs, relaxed smile, insane laugh, so carefree.
Nothing had changed. Obviously.
Until my mom made a joke about it a week ago.
"Oh, dear, imagine you and Connor, beautiful bride and groom," she laughed as if it were the funniest thing she'd ever heard. Looking at a photo of the two of us as kids, she had a broom in her hand, cleaning the house.
Looking at her awkwardly, I continued eating the bag of chips in my hand.
"Such a beautiful couple," she said in between wheezes.

I stiffled a laugh and quickly ran to my room before she'd start the water works.
That night got me thinking.... about us.
What did my mom mean with her sarcastic voice of 'such a beautiful couple'.
What, we aren't good together?
Of course we were.
This made me want to prove her wrong.
Everybody wrong.
But my past emotions about him came along with the revenge plan; to get Connor and I to be the best couple ever.
That week we became closer.
And maybe that's why he told me his secret.
He's a vampire!
Holy shit!
I mean, all the facts do make sense.
Over the years, I've never been in his house. I've never seen him without sunglasses outside.
His teeth are so shiny.
He looks like a fucking god!
Holy fucking shit God!
He's a fucking vampire!
He wasn't lying!
He didn't just slap me for fun, he wanted to show me, he trusts me.
I jolted out of my bed.
My blanket falling off, curling onto my ankles as I tackled my way out of my room.
In a rush down the stairs, I ran out of the house.
Ignoring the smell of dinner food and the sound of the T.V.
I ran out of my house into the yard. Out of the gardened home, into the streets.
Where could he be?, I don't know.
I ran into the direction of the library.
That's where I usually found him when we were in a fight.
It was the fastest I'd ever ran.
I was at the library in seconds.
.
The sign read 'Closed'. Fucking closed.
"Shit," I breathed out. My heart beating fast from the recent run. I looked up where a small window was slightly opened.
Maybe he got in from there.
After all, he is a vampire.
Trying to figure out a way to enter, I scanned the place around me.
Spotting a chair, half broken, I pulled it towards me, using it as a leverage to pull me towards the opened window above the library door.
"Shit," I mumbled once more.
It was too far.
I tried jumping, It was too far up.
I felt the straw and string of the chair snap underneath me.
I ignored it, continuing to reach for the half opened window.
I stopped.
No use. Sighing, I looked at the door.
Maybe the door is still open.
The librarian might have not locked it, after all, nothing happens in this town.
Before I could jump off the chair, the seat crashed, causing me to topple to the floor with a bump.
"Shit," I groaned. Rubbing my head, I stood up slowly. I walked towards the door, all the while rubbing my ass. I wiggled the doorknob, and yes, the door just creaked open.
Fucking creaked open.
"Fuck, of course it's open."
I could've continued this frustrated mood but the thought of Connor stopped that.
I ran into the library.
Turning the corners of the bookcases, running to our spot of pillows we usually go to.
Nothing.
The pillows were placed there with no sign of anybody ever being there.
"Shit," I said loudly.
I swear a ghost of a librarian hushed me.
I grumbled.
I ran out of the library, again.
Losing hope and oxygen, too much running, I slowed down until I reached my home once more.
The fence surrounding the small yard, my small home, seemed sad as it stood in this even more miserable town.
I felt exhausted, lose of hope is what it was. I huffed, but the lack of energy couldn't make my huff sound angry.

The wind rushed through my hair, blowing my body to look at the wind in the face. The wind had come out of nowhere. Things were getting dark quickly. Squinting my eyes, my hand covered my face from the wind.
My eyes widened as I noticed what was so close yet never touched.
Of course.
The woods.
A shiver spiraled through me, the wind making me dance inside.
I smiled proudly.
Vampire's - woods, of course.
It adds up.
My smile grew as I began to run towards the woods overlooking our small town. Running faster and faster. The wind pushing my body, my hair flipping around, it was like the wind was telling me not to go. I didn't listen to the call.
I was probably imagining it. I told myself.
I stopped right in front of the forest's edge.
My heart thumping, something wasn't right.
I walked in.
My foot stepping into the forbidden wood, looking back, suspecting any followers, I continued walking forward. The wood was pulling me closer. The crunch of the leaves underneath my feet echoed as darkness overlooked my vision.
Surrounding me was the trees. Only the trees and darkness.
I could feel the wind growing colder and colder around me. I was growing wary.
I couldn't even see my little neighborhood, it's like it had disappeared and I had entered another world.
Shivering in the cold, I wrapped my arms around my shoulders.
Sure, it was autumn, but it was never this cold here.
I looked around me.
This place was a maze.
Looking to side to side, up, down, spotting the moon in between the curves of the tree stems, I tried to be quiet as I listened to the howl of leaves spiraling with the wind.
But it wasn't cold.
Soon enough I could only hear my breathing and the wind had gone. As if the wind wasn't with me anymore, no longer to protect me, All. Alone.
Breathing out once more, a cold fog followed my breath, entering the air.
It surprised me.
The icy cool air traveled down my legs, I hugged myself tightly, but nothing was keeping me warm.
I wanted to call for Connor.
But cold and fear took over.
I wanted to back away but it was as if I was planted on the ground, stuck like a statue of ice. The ice feeling traveled slowly yet quickly up my spine.
"Connor," I finally urged to say, whispering in a plead.
Of, course, he couldn't hear me.
I whispered once more.
"Connor," I yelled out in the empty forest.
Silence followed.
I felt like crying.
"Connor," I whined,"Connor, Connor, Connor," I yelled louder. My tears rolling down my cheeks, but I wasn't crying. It was the cold.
"Connor,"
,
I lost hope.
I think I'm dieing.
I hoped that this was a dream, but it felt too alive, too real.
"Connor, answer you mother fucker," I screamed in anger, my feisty self coming out despite my frozen statue state.
"Connor,"
A howl sounded in the distance.
I gasped.
My eyes widen as the wind abruptly flew through me, as if it were running.
Closing my eyes at how fast it spun in my face, the howl sounded again, but closer.
"Connor?" I questioned.
A chuckle.
I heard a chuckle.
Is this Connor's laugh?
"Looky what I found," a deep voice said, with a British accent, amused. Amused as fuck.
I wanted to growl as I opened my eyes.
The figure finally came out of the trees, walking towards me in it's shadow.
I wanted to run.
"Who are you," I snapped.
It just chuckled.
Staying still, wanting to back away, fear completely took over me.
"Get away," I huffed as I screamed Connor's name.
I couldn't move, too cold, stuck in fear, like a statue.
Watching the black shadowed figure slowly walking closer and closer, it finally stopped moving.
"Connor?" I asked with hope and fear.
"Hmmm," he chuckled,"Of, course, you belong to Connor," he mused.
"What the fuck is that supposed to mean,"
"Ha!" it chuckled again, it's British accent annoying me.
The figure inched closer until it was in my vision, the moon's light hitting the man's skin.
He shinned in the light. His skin pale yet dark.
How the fuck is that even possible?
I'm obviously freaking delusional.
I shook my head.
The man stopped moving, staring at me with a smirk.
"I smell human," he hummed, licking his lips.
Oh, shit.
I squinted my eyes, awaiting my fate. Wanting to scream, squirm, run away, anything, but I just stood there. The man chuckled again, probably sensing my discomfort, but maybe it was because I looked stupid.
I could almost feel his breath, hot and sticky.
I couldn't hear his steps, all there was, was silence, but I could still sense his presence.
Closing my eyes tighter, as if that could change anything, I wished, I wished to the moon, the gods, the world, anything for this to stop, for this to be a dream.
I felt like I was about to faint as his shadow surrounded me.
"Not so fast, Regenald," someone spoke, stopping my frantic thoughts.
My breath stopped. I know that voice.
The figure's presence slowly disappeared.
"What do you want, Vampire," he spat out, as if it were an insult.
Vampire!
I opened my eyes, hoping to see Connor, all there was was that man, standing before me.
A scowl covered my face as I saw this man again.
He chuckled at me then looked back to something behind me.
I couldn't turn to what he was looking at, I was stuck, like a rope had caught me, swirled around my legs up my frame to keep me still.
"What do you want, blood sucker?" the man smirked, looking at his nails as if he were bored.
"Get away from her, that's what I want," the voice behind me spoke.
"Ha," he replied back, "Never!" his smile grew dark, his eyes growing into a shadow.
I felt sick.
"Get away from her," the voice behind me said, their voice deeper than before.
I watched the man in front of me as he chucked.
"You wish small fool, but I'm no genie, you know what I am, blood sucker." his smirk grew, his body wide and his voice dark with courage.
This mother fucker of a creature was confusing.
"Well, you sure ain't human," I hear a higher voice say. I wondered who it was, when I realized it was me. My eyes widen. This man was looking at me.
Oh, no, my awkward fucking self had been stupid, said something stupid and spoke.
Of course, this was the way I'd die.
I squinted my eyes, dreading what would happen next.
"You're right, smart girl," the man in front of me answered.
Well at least it wasn't a bad insult.
"Say my name." The man smirked, looking ahead, "You know my name, don't you Connor,"
I know that name! - I thought
But my head was too busy to comprehend anything as this point.
He smirked again.
"Jessie," I heard someone from behind me say, his voice a low whisper," Run,"
Connor?!?!
Finally, my stupid mind realizes who it is.
But I can't run.
"Tell her, Connor, tell her what I am," the man in front of me said, looking scarier than before, his eyes growing.
"Jessie," Connor whispered from behind me, warning me, but I couldn't move.
"Connor," the man urged,"tell her!" his eyes were turning green, his body changing.
What the fuck?!? Was it puberty all over again for this guy? Was it puberty man at age fifty?
As if the man could hear my thoughts, he yelled.
"You stupid girl! Tell Connor to say my name!"
My body shook in fear.
I obeyed,"Say his name," I said.
I don't know why I followed his order.
"Jessie, no, it's a spell,"
"Say his name," I said again as I watched the man's eyes turn even more green, hypnotizing me.
I heard Connor's sigh from behind me.
"He's a... He's a werewolf,"
The man in front of me howled, his body beginning to hover off the ground.
"Regenald,"
My eyes widen as his body completely transformed, the wind coming back as the transformation begins.
Claws forming onto his now long nails, his dark skin turning hairy. The hair on his head lengthening, making him look wild.
Something in me, I don't know what, fear, anxiety, anger, I don't know... But I moved.
No longer cold, I felt warm inside as I turned around, my body facing towards Connor.
Looking him in the eyes, I finally saw him. He looked at me, wonder in his eyes.
His hair spun with the wind as it howled along with the wolf man.
I was so confused.
But Connor got me to my senses.
"Jessie," he whispered.
I rushed closer to him.
Pulling him into my embrace, I kissed him.
I kissed him hard, despite the crazy man wolf behind us, despite the wind making us look like wild animals, despite the recent shiver of cold.
I was warm again as I kissed his lips.
My hands cupped his cheeks as he wrapped his hands around my waist.
The forest was alive underneath us.
When I finally broke the kiss, I felt strange, different, with power in me. My hands still cupping his face, I took a better look at Connor's face in the moonlight.
He was beautiful.
"Jessie," he whispered out.
"Tell me later, right now we've got an alpha wolf thing to destroy," I told him.
Turning back forward to the levitating werewolf, I could sense Connor was in for it.
Even though it was dangerous, we were in it together.
Never in a million years would I have thought that this is where I'd be one day.
My first kiss in a forest with a vampire boy.
My first fight with a werewolf in the air.
My first everything, here with Connor and there was so much more to come.
